What version exactly did you buy? If you bought CS6, then the license is perpetual and doesn't need any extension. If you bought CC, then you need to renew your plan every year. You can install each Adobe software on 2 machines with a single license for non-concurrent use.

I think I will do this. I will use my apple ID and set face time and message to work independently. That solves one problrem. My other problem and maybe my bigger problem is that if I am using my apple ID, how do I iflter all of this so that my kids don't see my contacts, get my apps, etc. ?

I got a popup message, I needed to upgrade to 3.6.17. After allowing it and rebooting, I couldn't start FF anymore, just got a crash report. I tried going to the restore point I had set with no luck and I tried creating a new profile. I lost all my bookmarks (only the Cache remained). And I sat in live chat for an hour waiting for help. German live chat had one helper and English live chat was closed.
So I gave up on help, uninstalled FF 3.6.17 and downloaded FF 3.6.15 and installed it. It loads but all bookmarks are gone. More importantly, now when I load the bookmarks, I can't '''retrieve''' them except by storing a new one. '''Only''' when I create a new bookmark can I see the folders I've created. I can't get to the organizer so I can't use the bookmarks to retrieve websites.
I'm disturbed that I can't get to the tree-structure forum where I can get the help I need. This "lead me around" labyrinth from one question to another, without being able to look through the forum for the information I need, is not helpful.

Aside form the limitation of LTE to the 700MHz and 2.1GHz bands (which rules out LTE in Europe I gather, at least as it stands now) the new iPad should let you use a GSM 3g/2g/edge network anywhere. The CDMA Verizon model will only be able to use it's native CDMA radio band in the USA (that radio will be locked to Verizon), but it's international GSM radio is the same as the AT&T model.
Keep in mind though that by far the cheapest option when abroad is to take advantage of free wifi as much as possible (well, that is always the cheapest option, since it is free). I know several people who have taken their wifi-only iPads and iPad2s to Europe and said they did not find the lack of 3G really inconvenient at all as most towns had plenty of free or cheap wifi access all over the place.
And in 3 years, your iPad will be at least 2-3 generations behind, LTE will have already been replaced by 5G or whatever the next new generation of cellular ends up being named (and the "young" kids will be wondering what the heck 3G even means or meant - dang that stuff was from the olden days!), and you can pitch that ancient piece of technology and start things all over again

I know you already solved this but for future reference, there is also another setting to only keep songs downloaded to your device visible in music.
Go to Settings --> Music --> Show All Music and make sure it is turned off

Unfortunantly, the screen cracked very badly, and it has become a hazard, not only for the many cuts I have gotton on my fingers from the ipod screen's broken glass, but for what I type (because the screen is cracked so badly, I cannot see what I am doing). The ipod has become pointless to own in its condition. Tap on the id in Settings > Store and log out of it and then log in with your id. But if there is any content on the iPad from his account then you are probably better off resetting back to factory defaults via Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings and starting 'as new' with it - content is tied to the id that bought/downloaded it so your account won't be able to download updates to any of his apps, and unless his account is authorised on your computer's iTunes and his content is on there then it will be deleted when you sync to it.
