Our family has one apple account, but several devices linked to it. How do I sync my device (Ipad) without getting all my 11 year old daughter's apps on it?
I need help syncing my Ipad. Our family uses one apple account for multiple devices... how do I sync my ipad without getting all my daughters apps? How do I know which of my apps need to be synced to the computer?
Simply select only the apps that you want to sync to your iPad and then sync. You can control what syncs to the iPad. You may be best served by turning off auto sync.
Launch iTunes and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices and check the box that says - Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically. Click OK.
Connect your iPad to the computer.
Launch iTunes
Click on the iPad name on the left side under the Devices heading.
Click on the Apps Tab in the iTunes window on the right.
Click on only the apps that you want to sync in the list of apps under the Sync Apps heading.
Make sure that the Sync Apps heading is checked.
Click on Apply in the lower corner of iTunes.

Our family has 1 Apple id with 2 itouches, 1 ipad and 1 iphone. My sons received several itunes gift cards. - You can't create subaccounts.
- You can create new account(s). The media on the iPod is still usable. It does create more work when updating apps since yo have to sign into the account that purchased them to update them. If you have apps purchased from more than one account that need update you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased with one account.
- To change accounts for purchasing go to Settings> Store (or Settings.iTunes and App store depending upon the iOS) and sign out and sign in with different account. -

This is still not related to iCloud. Suppose your son has his own iTunes library. He connects his iPod to that, and the contents of his library are transferred to his iPod.
Now he connects to your Library; and his iPod is wiped and the contents of your Library transferred to it.
Any workaround is going to involve manual operation or sharing, and is outside my experience. Your best bet would be to start a new thread and ask about sharing different people's libraries, without mentioning iCloud which is a red herring. -

You should be able to log out of iCloud on your Mac and then log in with the ID used on your other devices.

All devices under the same Apple ID will have one iCloud. If they are over 13, they can create their own Apple IDs, or you can just turn everything off under Settings > iCloud on the iPods.

what issues are caused by my multiple apple ids?You cannot merge apple ids, but you can sign out of the apple id and sign in under the other one either on your phone or your mac. On your phone, go to settings, itunes and appstore, tap your apple id, tap sign out, then go back to home screen, then back into itunes an appstore and sign in with the apple id you want to use.

after the new IOS 7 update, my 4s would not activate facetime or imessage. I called apple and walk thru a simple reset. waited 24 hours and still no activation. I followed Apple's online trouble shoot and reset phone and set up as a new phone. Can I now re-sync with my itunes to get back all my lost contacts, notes, music, etc etc?
Thank youusually when you set up as a new phone it will ask you in the options if you would like to restore from last back-up, what i would do is, start again by deleting everything and setting it up as a new iphone again and after that on your iphone it will go through steps of setting it up again such as 'enable my location' and so on. when it comes up on the last option 'back up from last back-up' press the option you would like and then on your computer while having it plugged in go on prefrences on the itunes tab at the top, and click backing up and it will show you your recently backed up files, click okay after pressing the option you would like on your phone,,, this will only work with ios5.

home sharing can be configured to transfer purchases made on computer A automatically to computer B. however, home sharing is unable to transfer ratings, playcounts, and original "date added".
alternatively, you could use a 3rd party app such as TuneRanger. -

There is no problem about using one ID for iTunes, iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match, and another for iCloud and its email and syncing facilities. This way you can all use the same iTunes account but have separate emails and calendars etc.
