Our Ipad type line for text disappears after taking a photo to send and only after a restart
Hello. We have two Ipads and two Iphones. Our newest Ipad has an issue with I message. If we take a photo to send by text the type screen and line disappears. The only way to get it back is to shut the device and then the type line returns. We have turned the message off on on with the same result. Our Ipad 2 and both our 4s and 5 phones don't seem to have the issue. Any thoughts? We are also did the icloud update and no change happened. Is this a bug or are we missing something? Messaging works fine until we take a picture then the type bar and keyboard disappear. The taken photo goes to photos.. The only way to get messages to work is to shut off the device and then it works until we try to add another new picture. It seems to work if we use an existing photo from the library.
This sounds like you may have the camera's "Image Review" option set to "hold".
When you take a photo, two things normally happen.
1) The camera should write the image to your memory card. You'll know when it's writing to your memeory card because there is a red LED ligth which is active when the camera is using the card. When the light goes out, the camera is finished.
2) The camera can be set to do "Image Review". By default, when you take an exposure, the camera will display the image on the rear screen for just a few seconds. But this behavior can be customized.
Your choices for image review are "Off", 2 seconds, 4 seconds, 8 seconds, or "Hold". If Off is selected you wont get any image review. If "Hold" is selected, the image you just took will appear on the rear LCD and will never go away until you manually clear it. You can just do a half-press of the shutter button to clear it (it wont get in the way of you taking more shots... just ignore it.)

Well first you need to sync your iPhone 4 with your Mac/PC so that it will transfer all your music, apps, podcasts, etc. Then sync your iPod Touch and the media you selected during the sync should be there on your iPhone. If you have difficulty in transferring media from iPhone to your computer, try softwares like TransCopy. They will help in transferring data from your iphone to your computer. My laptops QWERTY row of keys does not work for long periods at random intervals and only after pushing all the buttons on the row does it eventually turn back on and then will still cut out every now and again, anyone know how to solve this? If not is there any way to actually get a genuis appointment lol to get one of them to have a look at the hardware on the keyboard?

I am getting a "not delivered" when I try to send a photo from my Ipad or iPhone via iMessage. I can receive photos in iMessage and I can send and receive photos other than with iMessage. I have tried restoring factory settings etc but no luck. Is anyone else having this problem please?
I've been having this problem too, but here's the catch: originally it was only with my dad, and only sometimes. Now it's dad and husband, every time! Pix go through, via imessage, to everyone else, and they go through to dad/husband if I "send as text" after it fails.
And the other annoying thing- the blue bar will run all the way, and it will say "delivered". So I close out of imessage. When I reopen it again, the "delivered" has changed to "not delivered" with the red exclamation point. I just googled "imessage not sending photos" and founds TONS of people with the same problem, but no solutions. (I have rebooted phone, reset network settings, with no luck. I even had to backup/delete/restore my whole phone the other day for a different reason, and hoped that would fix it, but now it won't send to my dad OR my husband (who is on not just the same carrier, but the same family plan as me) -
i have done all 7 steps recommended by the troubleshooting articles and only when i restart my router does my library show on apple tv2 but only for about 5 minutes, this was never a problem before the updates of itunes and apple tv2, i have spent insane amounts of money on the apple store buying movies and tv shows that i cannot watch anymore, and no there is no firewall on my laptop nor my router, so no port configuration is needed
i have read many articles for this problem but there is no solution, some say restart the router, others say uncheck the option to sync iphone over wi-fi, others suggest not hitting the "done" button after setting up homeshare on itunes, NONE of them work. My itunes library disappears from ym apple tv 2 after 5 minutes or soDid not work. I've selected iMessage to ON and left it. After a few hours I recieved a message "activation unsuccessful. Turn on iMessage to try again". This has been going on for the past 3 days.

terminate called after throwing an instance of 'NSException'
I use @try block in the 'didFinishPickingImage' delegate method, but it won't goes into the exception handler, instead crashing directly. does anybody meet the same problem? how should I do to fix it?thanks Rogalon,
yes it did receive memory warning , and only call the method of super class like

after picking the photo, I save the image data to a temporary file and release the UIImagePickerController object. and I did check memory allocation with instruments, there is no memory leaks.
today I found that because of the UIWebView, the problem won't appear so frequently if I disable the UIWebView in the application. If I enable the UIWebView in the application, it will cause the problem above and sometimes exit with status 101. And, there are some memory leaks after enable UIWebView -
Why is that when I downloaded the iOS 7 for my iphone 5 that it changed my send and receive for imessages to a random number but my SMS messages are still linked to my phone number?
I just encountered this problem for the first time and stumbled upon this forum to find a solution. I played around with it a bit and it seems that if you slide your finger from the bottom up, you will come upon that new screen that will allow you to do various functions with your phone (put it in airport mode, lock, etc.), you can select your Airport from this screen and play your music wirelessly from your phone; at least this was my experience. There was likely corrupted data or incomplete data on the card. There are a couple possible causes, but since it has been resolved, it is hard to speculate what caused it. It may have been that the card had not been formatted in a long time or the camera had not finished writing the data from earlier to the card.
This error does not always mean that the images on the card are lost. Formatting can fix this, but you may want to try downloading the images from the card directly using a card reader before you format the card if this happens again. This will ensure you do not lose your images again.
It is also good practice to regularly format the card after you have downloaded all of the images from it. This keeps the card fresh and the file system as free from corruption as possible, greatly reducing the chances of seeing this error again.

Does anyone know if text messages can be setup on an iPad 1 to send and recieve messages from something other than an email address? I'd like to have my ipad messages be sent/recieved from both my iphone and ipad...
you can receive i messages sent to your pad directed at your phone number if you have added the phone number as a recieve at address in settings. ( as described above.)
You can reply to those messages, and sent imessage texts as well.
What you cannot do is use the pad for regular old fashioned txt messages, such as to a android or some other non apple device. The pad is not a phone. It cannot send regular text messages bewcause they use a regular phone signal
