Our I-Pad has never connected with our wireless internet from since we got it. Our laptop connects just fine and we have a strong signal.  We now have a locked screen stated that I-cloud has not been backed up in 9 weeks. Plug into internet?  However when you click the button to try to get to the internet it does nothing. The power off button is greyed out so not an option to shut down. Just froze on that screen?
Any help would be greatly appreciated:)

Try this.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

    Same here.... No fix. Replacing is the option apparently and if you're out of warranty, you're SOL. That was as per the "Genius" at Apple.

    Have a work Exchange account on your phone? These policies can be enforced by a profile installed on your phone. There is nothing you can do to change this except delete the Exchange account.

Suddenly, the music stop and an error dialog box which I have seen before appeared and say to shut down my Macbook using the on/off button. I did what was said, off the Macbook and on it again and it behaved normal after that. I also did a 'repair disk' with disk utility after that. Now, I am kind of worried it will happen again in the midst of my DJ sets because it is going to be embarassing. Does anybody out there know what actually happened? Is it my hard disk or is it a one time off thingy...any thoughts will be a great help.

    my ipad froze during a upgrade.  it might have run out of battery.  i brought it with me to work and i'm charging it but it keeps displaying a black screen.  it wont even let me power it off.

    If it is totally black, all the time, and you can never see anything on the screen, I agree with stef7 - it needs replacing.  Is it still under the manufacturer's warranty?
    Is the proximity sensor (dot(s) on top of the phone) covered by a case or screen protector?  That would make the phone "think" you are holding the phone at your ear to talk, and will turn off the screen to save battery..

  • TS1559 I have two problems but since they both started at the same time I'm guessing that they are related. My WiFi on/off button is greyed out AND my iCloud Drive (under "Settings") has been "Upgrading" with that spinning download symbol for 2 wks now! N

    I cant be positive but I think this started when my iPhone did an automatic software update. I couldn't get any WiFi connection because when I go to turn it back on the iPhone wont let me and Greys out my WiFi on/off button.
    But also I think something happened to my iCloud connect as well because next to my iCloud Drive under "Settings" it has that spinning symbol that usually denotes waiting for something to finish downloading. But this time it never stopped! Its been spinning saying "iCloud is Upgrading" for 2 weeks now! I have tried the on/off iPhone restart or reset, and I've even put my iPhone into "Recovery Mode" as a last resort. but when iTunes was finished "Restoring" it, nothing had changed; Still Greyed out WiFi button and iCloud is still "Upgrading"!     if ((p_select_list is not null) and (p_text_field is not null)) then
    return true;returning the result TRUE when both fields are not null
    And this statement -
    elsif ((p_select_list is null) and (p_text_field is null)) then
    return true;returning the result TRUE again when both fields are null. If you see closely basically is not validating becoz it returning true whatever the input is.
    I do not know what you want to use the second statement when you have else statement at the end. It will return false if one or both fields are null unless you want to validate either text field.
    Hope this make sense.

  • Since Apple's last Update on 6 June 2014, I have been unable to Import photos from any source. I receive a message saying, Importing photos but nothing happens. When I click on Stop Import, nothing happens. I must press the On/Off button to exit iPhoto.

    Since Apples last update on 6 June 2014, I have been unable to Import photos from ANY source. When I attempt to do so, I receive the message "Import  Preparing to inmport..." I've waited 10 minutes but nothing happens. When I click on the icon, Stop Import, nothing happens. When I attempt to Close iPhoto i receive the message, "Photos are being imported to the photo library. Please wait for import to complete." When I click on OK, nothing happens. The only way I can exit iPhoto is to press the On/Off button.

    After loading this file I was sucessful in importing photos from a web site, my camera memory card and a CD containing photos.
    That is a good news.  We now know, that iPhoto is working as expected, when you are switching to a different library.
    But this is puzzling:
    I then see a box with two Librarys listed, both have the same name except for the following and are listed as:
    iPhoto Library.photolibrary but one has (default) after its name which is the one which is always displayed when I load iPhoto.
    Underneath the box is written:
    /Users/paulfkardian/Pictures/iPhoto Library.photolibrary
    Underneath this are three boxes titled: Other Library    Create New    Choose
    I highlighted the the File without the (default) after its name and clicked on Choose. A Library was loaded which had my photos (about 9,822) from about 7 months ago. Underneath the box is written diferently than the file always loaded and says:
    /Users/paulfkardian/Pictures (original)/iPhoto Library.photolibrary
    You are having two "Pictures" folders in your Home folder, Pictures and Pictures (original)? And each has a different iPhoto library - one working correctly, and one not?  Do you remember, when this second "Pictures" folder has been created and what caused it?  Did you restore your Home folder from a backup some time ago?

    screen locked up and shows the battery with low red and ligtning bolt and cannot hard shut down or reset just stays there for a few seconds then black screen. hooked up to computer and itunes doesnt recognize it or even shows that it is pluged in.  looked and made sure nothing is broken or metal in ligting port or on cable which would prevent it from accepting a charge. ipod is only a month old and seems like a waste of money if its so hard to try to get an explanation of why this is ive been tryning to get an answer from apple for a week now.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    I am about to change to a 27" i7 mac from my current PC and have a shut down question.
    My computer is plugged in to an energy saver adaptor plug. With this plug you have your computer in one sockets and you power strip for other peripheral in another socket on the adaptor. When you turn of the computer it detect the power drop and COMPLETELY turn of all power to the adaptor, thus ensuring everything else is off too (Printer, Speakers, Scanner and so-on) including the computer.
    Will this be a problem when using it with an iMAC

    I imagine that the adapter should work the same with the iMac. If you turn the iMac off, the adapter should perceive the same drop in demand for electricity and cut the power to the other devices.
    However, many folks do not turn off their iMac, they merely put it to sleep. This sleep mode is very low in power consumption, but saves wear & tear on the iMac's hardware. Since the iMac draws very little power in sleep mode the adapter should perceive a similar drop in power demand and cut the power to the other devices, but you can only know that for sure by experimenting.

    unless the nurse misunderstood your question one would want to fix the mouse setting is that you're using the trackpad or some other mouse and remove the spaces function to the mouse buttons or spaces icon in the trackpad is not activated with that function and go

    Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
    Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
    Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes) in the search box. Note the timestamps of those log messages, which refer to the times when the system was booted. Now clear the search box and scroll back in the log to the last boot time after  you had the problem. Select the messages logged before the boot, while the system was unresponsive or was failing to shut down. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.     I fear that I screwed up somewhere in setting up my 1-click setting and now when I select a photo and click on order prints, it just says connecting then does nothing. It doesn't even take me to the 1-click screen to allow me to change account info.     If Windows :
    Quit Creative Cloud desktop application .
    Launch Photoshop cc 2014 application from C: > Program Files > Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 .
    Once launched , click on Help menu in Photoshop cc 2014 and select Updates option .
    It should update.
    If Mac:
    Quit Creative Cloud desktop application .
    Launch Photoshop cc 2014 application from Applications folder:
    Once launched , click on Help menu in Photoshop cc 2014 and select Updates option .
    Let me know if you face any error .
    Error 49 occurs while updating the application , when Creative Cloud app  does not have reference / Access to installed CC app, so that it can apply updates for the same .
    You can try to update from CC app  like Photoshop itself and check.
