Out Going Mail issue  - Port 993 Time connecting to Exchange Server 2007

Help Needed,
Issue: Outgoing mail stalls receiving 993 timeout issue

Outgoing mail shouldn't be using port 993, that's an incoming mail port (IMAPS). Outgoing should be using either port 25, 587, or in some cases, 465.

  • SMTP+Iron port out going mail issue

    Hi,
One of the EBiz instance is configured with Iron port SMTP server for outgoing workflow mails.
Th IRONPOrt mails are relayed using round robin technique.
From the EBiz server OS if i fire mails the mails mails are relying using the round robin technique but from Oracle if i am firing some test mails all of them are relying though only smtp server where the scenario should be both the Iron port server should fire mails in a round robin fashion.
Just want to know if there is anything from Ebiz notification mails side we need to take care.

I cannot send any from this exchange account. on the same Mac I have Entourage and it can receive and send emails. • Can't connect to Exchange Server 2007

    Hi,
I have problems to set everything up, probably someone has a solution for this problem? After entering my account data the autodiscovery fails (see log below, the password is not wrong :)) I have to enter the server settings manually. Apple Mail was able to use autodiscovery to set everything up.
So I entered the correct server settings, but the iPhone can't establish a connection to the server.
As already said, I'm using Exchange 2007, and an iPhone 3G 3.0.1. Anyone had this problem before?

Sat Oct 3 01:25:05 unknown Preferences[224] <Warning>: EAS|Received bad password response. Optimistically trying one more time

Sat Oct 3 01:25:05 unknown Preferences[224] <Warning>: EAS|Autodiscover task failed with status 6 and error Error Domain=ASHTTPConnectionErrorDomain Code=401 "Operation could not be completed. (ASHTTPConnectionErrorDomain error 401.)"

I'm pretty sure that the combination is right. On my macs everything works fine. Is there another reason why the exchange server could reject the iPhone? Similar to the 3.1 problems with the hardware encryption?

  • Can't send Attachments using Mail to connect toe Exchange Server 2007

I struggle to send any emails with even the smallest of attachments via Mac Mail using Exchange 2007. I receive mail ok (intermittently slow but ok) although the Exchange Account does beach ball alot when checking for new mail. However, replying or sending an email that contains an attachment, even a small logo is a nightmare.

I am using Mail 4.4 on Mac OS X 10.6.6 on an iMac. We use Exchange 2007 and it's run and managed by Microsoft "Microsoft Business Productivity Online Standard Suite" We are not allowed to change server settings. I am the only one in a small, remote-workforce company that lives in the UK and I keep being told that is the issue. However, I've found too many people with similar problems on the web to believe that, but I haven't found an answer. Any ideas??

I've got 38 iPhones deployed running the 3.1.2 OS against an Exchange 2007 server. Several of my users complain about the same issue, and I've seen it myself. I have found a workaround of sorts - I've found that if I've sent a message with an attachment and I get a failure to send, if I manually browse down to the Sent Items folder, that forces a replication of the Sent Items. The next time I do a manual sync, the e-mail with the attachment will go.
I presume this has something to do with Exchange trying to put a copy of the e-mail in to your Sent Items at the same time the iPhone is trying to send the message.
Potentially, this might be solved by turning off the option to always store your sent e-mails in the Sent Items. I have not yet tested that as a workaround as from a corporate standpoint and an ease-of-use standpoint, we want that e-mail in the Sent Items for reference.
If anyone has any success with this fix, please let me know.

  • Mail constantly crashing while connected to Exchange Server 2007

A few of us at my workplace got 10.6 when it released because we were so excited about the native Exchange 2007 support. The problem that I have been having is that Mail constantly crashes at (seemingly) random times, even when I'm not actively using the application. I also loaded 10.6 onto my MBP but I don't think it has ever crashed while using Mail on the same Exchange account (inside or outside of the office).
One other co-worker occasionally has Mail crash but he said maybe once per day. Mine is at least 5-6 times per day. Set up of the accounts has been flawless but the constant crashing is a pain.
Anyone have any ideas why this might be happening or how to fix it?

Try this - find the /Library/Preferences folder in your user/Home folder and then locate and delete this file:
    com.apple.mail.plist
*Caution* - doing this may clear your account settings so be sure to note those first in the event you are required to reconfigure, etc.

  • The connection to the server on port 993 times out...

When I attempt to delete mail or move mail to my trash I receive the following error message:
"""The message could not be moved to the mailbox “Trash — iCloud”
the connection to the server :p01-map.mailme.com” on port 993 times out"""
I have never seen this before, anyway to correct it?

Regarding the iPhone (5 in my case) it works relatively well with charter.net IMAP and smtp functions at mobile.charter.well.  But does occassionally have sync problems as well.
To fix the problem with my MacBook Pro Mail app, the Apple senior tech could not determine the problem, so he told me to reinstall the app.  To do this I had to run the Archive and Install feature of the recovery disk (hold down cmd-r on reboot).  Of course this two two hours to complete, as well as run software updates.  And it did not fix the sync problem.
So??? This one has me stymied!
Oh, one other input.  The email app "Thunderbird" works perfectly with charter.net IMAP and its smtp, syncs every time!

  • Time Warner/RoadRunner  out-going mail server

Has RR got there out-going mail working correctly yet..........Im still using cwmx.com
    Thanks

I hit problems with this - this afternoon. I couldn't send while at a Caribou Coffee this afternoon. I kept getting the "can not find outgoing server" message. I remembered you referencing port 25 vs 587 so I went in and switched the port TO 25 then my e-mails went without a problem for the rest of the afternoon.
Just out of curiosity - what's the difference in the ports?

  • Out going mail  - Hyperlinks

Often I receive an e-mail that references an attached link.
In responding I attach the original mail and link.
While writing my reply, I try to reference the link for my answer.
Guess what Out Going mail will not let you reference a hyperlink be it a new mail or reply.
Tiger (still on my laptop) doesn't have this problem. Am I doing something wrong?

(....I still don't know what you're talking about. I can right-click on a link in Mail and it gives me a variety of ways to open it. Does this not happen for you?)
I'll say it again. I open a new mail. I type a word. I highlight it. I go to the Edit Menu and down to Link -> "Add" and paste in a web address.
Then I go back to the e-mail I'm typing - And Yes Its blue and underlined. I click on it - NOTHING!
And yes it will open for the receiver of the e-mail. Why do I care if it doesn't open for me? If nothing else, maybe I just want to verify I pasted in the right hyperlink.
Did you get it this time??

  • Sudden Out Going Mail Problem

I suddenly can not send out going mail. I have all green connection lights to outgoing SMTP servers but the 2 messages that I have attempted to send since moving from office to home will not send. I attempted to delete them from the Outbox but I can't delete them. I attempted to copy them to the Drafts folder and I can't copy them either.
Not sure if it is related but I just installed an update of SpamSieve.
Restarting the computer does not correct the problem.
    Any ideas?

Since you were willing to delete the messages in the Outbox mailbox, try the following:
With the Mail.app quit and using the Finder, go to Home > Library > Mail > Mailboxes > Outbox.mbox.
Delete the Outbox.mbox and empty the Trash.
Launch Mail and a new Outbox.mbox will be created automatically in the Mailboxes folder. If not initially when re-launching Mail before trying to send another message, it will be created when sending the next message.
Any error message provided when these messages were not sent?

  • Can I add my company logo to my out going mail on my Ipad?

Just like my Imac, I was wondering if it is possible for me to add my signature to my out - going mail on my IPAD

There is an app that supposedly lets you do this. I have never used it. There is also a way to create an HTML signature.
I just did a Google for you and you can see both in this search.

  • Out going mail question

I sent a large message with a video attached.  The message seems to be stuck in my out going mail. Any suggestions?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Generally speaking, the video is not a very good medium to attach to an e-mail, because of its size. iCloud mail has a size limit on attachments of 20 MB, which is larger than many other providers and so you need to be aware of not only your limit for iCloud mail but your recipients limits as well.
