'Out of Memeory'
Hi, I own a G5 that runs Final Cut Express and Photoshop Elements. The problem is that for a while now my computer has been performing slower than usual. And now in the past two days I cannot capture video on my FCE - Anytime I try it, it suddenly freezes and I have to force quit the programme. The same happens whenever I render an effect. The confusing thing is that I have cleared space on my hard disk but it still coming up with 'Out of memory' message.
I run a I-MAC with 512MB RAM and a Hard drive of 148GB - I would be very appreciative if anyone has a solution to this problem - Thanks
Hello and welcome to the forum.
What version of FCE? Current version requires 1GB of RAM. Also, what versions of OS and QuickTime? There have been reports of OS/QT updates goobering up older versions of FCE. Did the slowdown/freeze problems follow Software Update?
If nothing above seems likely, one thing to try any time FCE is behaving strangely is to trash your FCE Preferences. Here's how:

Hi All,
My application is RMI based running in JDK .1.3.1_12 And JRE 1.3.1_09, Server is Windows 2000, 6GB RAM.
Four different RMI services are running. 2 services are configured as JVM heap size intial memory as 1100 Mb and Max mem as 1600 Mb. Remaining are Max is 64 Mb only.
When i change one of the sevice(1600 mb ) Max memeory is 1700 Mb, during the RMI service start up,i'm geeting this error.
NFO | jvm 2 | 2005/10/14 08:26:34 | Error occurred during initialization of VM
INFO | jvm 2 | 2005/10/14 08:26:34 | Could not reserve enough space for object heap
What could be the problem, Eventhough i'm having 6 Gb Ram.Please advise meHi,
eventhouif u set maxheap sizeof JVM to 1700 MB, may be JVM failing to get the enugh memoryfrom OS.
and also if u change the minimum heap size of JVM then other processes will effect. so itis not advisable to change the minimum heap size of JVM.
i sugget that better keep minimum heap size as 256MB max heap size as 100MB.
ex:
-Xms256MB -Xmx1700MB -
"out of memeory" error with Adobe Reader x & IE8
Hello,
Getting an "out of memory" error with Adobe Reader X & IE8. This is a locked down bank environment so upgrading to a higher version of Adobe is out of the question.
I looked around on the web and noticed that many people are experiencing this "out of memory error" but no fix has been provided.
Can you help?Thanks for the reply and suggestion - unfortunately, I get this error when I open Adobe Reader X itself in addition to launching a pdf within IE9 (my OS is Win7x64 Ultimate). I can launch Adobe Reader X, but when I open any kind of PDF file (local copy, remote, web, etc...) the error dialog box pops up. Everything seems functional with Reader, it's just a frustrating (er, irritating!) thing! I think after the weekend I will 'give up' and remove the Reader X and go back to my 'old' (but functioning!) Reader - thanks for the comment and suggestion tho!

Out of Memeory Eroors Whn Saving My Huge Applications
I am now constantly getting an out of memory error every time I try to save changes to an application I've made. Something to do with java heap space. The app is very big, almost 15,000 lines long in code with over 50 embedded png images, but this problem makes it too hard to go back and try to trim it down.
Is there any way around this problem or a workaround of some sort?If this post answers your question or helps, please mark it as such.

And also this from the Flex Builder help systems:
Allocating enough memory and solving OutOfMemoryErrors
By default, Eclipse will allocate up to 256 megabytes of Java heap memory. This should be ample for all typical development tasks. However, depending on the JRE that you are running, the number of additional plug-ins you are using, and the number of files you will be working with, you could conceivably have to increase this amount. Eclipse allows you to pass arguments directly to the Java VM using the -vmargs command line argument, which must follow all other Eclipse specific arguments. Thus, to increase the available heap memory, you would typically use:
eclipse -vmargs -Xmx<memory size>
with the <memory size> value set to greater than "256M" (256 megabytes -- the default).
When using a Sun VM, you may also need to increase the size of the permanent generation memory. The default maximum is 64 megabytes, but more may be needed depending on your plug-in configuration and use. When the VM runs out of permanent generation memory, it may crash or hang during class loading. This failure is less common when using Sun JRE version 1.5.0_07 or greater. The maximum permanent generation size is increased using the -XX:MaxPermSize=<memory size> argument:
eclipse -vmargs -XX:MaxPermSize=<memory size>
This argument may not be available for all VM versions and platforms; consult your VM documentation for more details.
Note that setting memory sizes to be larger than the amount of available physical memory on your machine will cause Java to "thrash" as it copies objects back and forth to virtual memory, which will severely degrade your performance. -
I am trying to install oracle 9i for evaluation purposes but am having trouble with the installation.
When installing the Oracle Database Configuration Assistant it fails with an "out of Memory" error, all the other configuration tools install OK.
I am trying to install onto a machine running NT Server with 128 megs of ram. NB - this is only for evaluation purposes. Is there any way I can install on this machine and can I install the missing tool without going through the whole installation process.
TIA
Chris JCould you pls provide more info
version number of the products you are using,
how long your run the app to get the out of memory error.
does the the behavior vary with different heap size for the jvm ..
any other setails will help.

I am using expdp utility to export schema objects. It was working fine for the past one year, but now I am facing this issue.
It is giving below error while exporting one schema objects.

Out of memory when i render HD with many layers
I got a message error ( out of memory ) when i render HD full 1920 X 1080 in final cut pro 5 with many layers ( 6 to 9 layers ). I have 5.5 gig of memory and when is crash....1.5gig of memory is free in my activity monitor. If a buy more ram...my problem will be resolve? Please help me if anybody know about this problem.
thank
YanI am having the same problem...(out of memory on renders)
I've been watching my activity monitor and cancelling the render before I run out of memory... but I'm not getting much done and I can't do a big render at night.
I've done all the usuall things... no CMYC files. Trash Prefrences... etc..
Two questions:
I am using Magic Bullet filters and they seem to stack up the inactive RAM. (When the incactive ram fills up that's when I get the "out of memeory") You said you saw a post about that a few days ago...Was there an answer besides changing out the filters? or can you point me towards the posting?
I'm also trying to figure out how to dump or clear the inactive RAM once I'm done with a render. I found that if I do a full restart I can clear my RAM and get a bunch of renders done before I fill up the inactive ram again. This is going to be a long project if I have to do that.
thanks

Transfer 100M XML file with XSL
Hi,
I am trying to transfer 100M XML file with XSL. Input.xml is the XML file, format.xsl is the XSL file. I type in the command line as:
java org.apache.xalan.xslt.Process -IN input.xml -XSL format.xsl -OUT output.xml
It got "out of memeory" error. My questions are:
1. Is it possible to transfer such large XML file with XSLT?
2. The XSL processor used SAX or DOM to parse XML file?
3. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
Jamesmaybe?
java -Xmx200m org.apache.xalan.xslt.Process -IN input.xml -XSL format.xsl -OUT output.xml

Content Field issue in Mail adapter receiver
My inerface CIDX->TO-->IDOC:
I have an Error handling logic (Busines error) which needs to be send in EMail....the to address has to be detemined in runtime, the mail content is in the following format
Mail Content:
A KB order type came in from:
Partner Information:
Partner Name.
Darex
Chicago IL 60638
US
///below data till end is for single line item, will occur twice if 2 line item
PO Number : 45012529631
PO Line No : 1
Customer Product Code : YYYYYYY
Customer Product Name : XXXXXXXXXX
Price : 12345
You should verify the PO is updated in the hosted solution and that the price is correct in SAP. If this isn't the correct price from our partner please contact them and verify what the correct price should be..
I am able to send the above content in mail for line item is 1, if there are more than 1 lineitem then it is breaking as mail content size is huge
If there are Multiple Line items present in the Incoming CIDX file then the number od line items should be disaplayed in the mail. all the lines POLine NO till end will repeate for each Line Item....i am getting the arrayindex out of memeory exception as the data is huge which i am mapping to the content field of the reciver mail adapter....
kindly suggest me the better method to handle this situation..my worry is if the number of line item is 10 then the mail content will be very huge and it will break during the runtime, as that field content cannot take so huge data.Hi Kiran
Then there is no need to use Transformation bean for this
In Mapping map the mail package Content_type field with
text/plain;name="xyz.csv"
and select mail package and keep attachments in receiver mail adapter
This will work
Thanks

Hi,
I have problem configuring one scenario in XI. Customer delivers XML messages in Oracle DB as CLOB objects and I'm picking this XML with JDBC sender(to 100 rows in one pick, every 5 minutes, because XMLs can be relativley large, 100 rows is about 10MB, and if I pick all rows in DB, let's say 1000 of them, then XML is more than 100MB, and QAS server complains "out of memeory", it is small one). Messages look like this:
<msg>
<row>
....xml message as string(CLOB)
</row>
<row>
....next xml message as string(CLOB)
</row>
</msg>
Depending on some tags in XML, I need to decide is this row/XML message candidate for JDBC receiver on BS1 or is candidate for an IDOC on BS2. So, I first need to do some transformation from this messsage to messages where I extract tags that are important for further processing. So my first mapping produces message like this:
<msg>
<row>
<tag1> for first XML message
<tagn>
</row>
<row>
<tag1> for next XML message
<tagn>
</row>
</msg>
Based on this tags for each message I have to decide is it candidate for IDOC or for file. I'm using XI
Software Components all components...

sap.com/SAP-JEE 7.00 SP11 (1000.7.00.11.0.20070201154700) 20070717092410
It is below SPS14 so I'm not sure if I can use multi-mapping without BPM or shall I use BPM? Is there on SDN some scenario that looks like this one, or can someone describe the best way to do this?It is perfectly possible to split the incoming message to two different messages (see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/42/ed364cf8593eebe10000000a1553f7/content.htm for that), but only if the adapters are all located on the same adapter engine. You're talking about sending IDocs, which means that the enhanced interface determination is not an option.
In your case, use BPM, but be very careful with the load of messages you send to the BPM engine, because a too large payload will overload your system. -
How to increase memory associated to was
Hi all;
During our development period, we always meet with ' out of memeory ' error when we are debugging.
Is there any place for us to set memory for was ?
ThanksHi Jianhong,
The root cause of OutOfMemory error can be different though uaually it can be solved by increasing J2EE Server
MX size. To increase MX size execute J2EE ControlTool, click on the instance and select your server(s). On the right frame you will see Java settings tab. you can adjust MX parameters as follows:
-Xms1024M
-Xmx1024M
-XX:MaxNewSize=192M
-XX:NewSize=192M
-XX:MaxPermSize=256M
-XX:PermSize=256M
Also set "Max Heap Size" to the same value (1024).
Then you'll need to restart you J2EE server to activate paramters. However if you have less then 2048 Mb of RAM,I would go with 512M settings fro teh MX/MS. Otherwise your system may go into swapping.

Mike
