Out of Room

I have an 8820 phone and it has been working fine for quite awhile now (although this is my third device in less than a year). At the start of this week I had space available on my device (794322K). As the week progessed I kept getting the hour glass and had to keep removing the battery to get it going.  I looked at my status area and noticed it was showing 0 bytes available. I deleted 6-8 (links) to news pages, deleted text messages, that had photos - thinking that would release some space. It did not - I restarted the device and I am still at 0bytes.  The AtT & T tech told me that just happens with the 8820 - it's the device. I could try downloading the most current OS version. I did download it onto my computer, however I cannot find where it downloaded, so that I can update my device. The question I have is if I am showing 0 bytes, how can I update the OS of 90 MB?? Will it really help? Thanks in advance for your input

The approach is the same for all devices.
There are two types of memory on the device.
Internal based on integral memory chip on the device and external - micro-sd memory card.
Internal memory is using to support device operating system functioning.
In case there is lack of internal memory issues are going to appear.
Instability, freezing issues, error messages.
So I recommend to move picture/music/video and other files from internal memory to micro-sd card.
And check the links below. There is information - how to optimize memory on your BB device.

  • I have a macbook, 2Ghz 10.5.8 which is running out of room. Should I add all memory I can and will upgrading to mountain Lion use that all up before i even begin?

I have a macbook using 10.5.8, 2 Gb memory which is running out of room. I use it mostly for photos/videos. How much memory can i add and when i upgrade through snow leopard to mountain lion what will it cost andwill that use up all the newly added memory?

You can put in any 2.5" form factor SATA drive that is 9.5mm or less in height. For RAM we need to know whether you have the 2.0 Ghz or 2.13 Ghz processor model 5.2 MacBook. The model 5,2 (Early 2009, 2.0GHz Model Only) can use 6gb of 200 pin 667mhz PC2-5300 RAM. The model 5,2 (Mid 2009, 2.13GHz Model Only) can use 6gb of 200 pin 800mhz PC2-6400 RAM.
    For a new hard drive try Newegg.com http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCategory.aspx?SubCategory=380&name=Laptop-Hard-Dr ives&Order=PRICE
Or OWC for regular hard drives and SSDs  http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/hard-drives/2.5-Notebook/
Here are instructions on replacing the hard drive in a MacBook with a removable battery. http://creativemac.digitalmedianet.com/articles/viewarticle.jsp?id=45088
To transfer your current hard drive I like the free application SuperDuper. It makes a bootable copy of everything on your hard drive http://www.shirt-pocket.com/SuperDuper/SuperDuperDescription.html  You'll need a cheap SATA external hard drive case. Put the new drive in the case then format and partition the new drive and clone your old drive to the new one. Check that it's set up right by booting up from the external drive. Then replace your old hard drive with the new one and put your old one in the external case.
Here's a cheap SATA external hard drive case on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Vantec-NexStar-2-5-Inch-External-Enclosure/dp/B002JQNXZC/r ef=pd_cp_pc_0
If you don’t have the tools to open up the MacBook OWC has a set for $5

  • HT4236 I've run out of room on my hard drive. I bought an external drive and exported all my albums to the external drive then deleted the albums from iPhoto. I want to sync both from my ext drive and new albums in iPhoto. No dice. Help!

I've run out of room on my hard drive. I bought an external drive and exported all my albums to the external drive then deleted the albums from iPhoto. I want to sync both from my ext drive and new albums in iPhoto. My photos on the devices get wiped out when I sync to iPhoto since I deleted all the albums. But when I sync to my hard drive (where I maintained the album structure) the photos are copied to my iPad but lose all the hierarchy and folder structure. Now I have to scroll through thousands of photos to try to find the one I'm looking for. Before I sync any more devices I want to know the following: 1) can I restore the album structure on my iPad by using the photo cache? 2) is there a way to sync both new iPhoto albums AND pictures in the folders in my hard drive? And 3) how can I keep the photo hierarchy structure from my hard drive intact on my devices?

    Don't do that.
Copy /Photos/Photo library/ to the external.
    Hold Option and launch iPhoto.
Select Choose library and select the Photo library you copied to the external.

You should take the time to familiarize yourself with the documentation that is available.  You can "uncheck" a song in iTunes, and then do a manual update.

  • Have run out of room on iweb, can't publish. Can I delete data and reclaim space?

I have been working on my website for ages, constantly doing and redoing and saving each time. Now I get a message that I've run out of room & can't publish. I kow I can buy more space, but it's annoying because I'm sure there is a mass of trash I could delete from the changes I've made. But where is it, and how can I dump it. Is it possible?

It's a regular error with MobileMe. Usually it says that you run oit of space.
Since the editing features of this forum do not function properly on an iPad , i paste the search url

  • Ran Out of Room

I have an 8G iPod and while I love it, I've run out of room and would like to move to a 32G. Do I need to buy a whole new iPod, or is there some way to upgrade my current one?

If your iPod is an iPod nano or an iPod touch, then yes, you will need to buy a whole new one (the "hard drive" which is really flash, is mounted directly on the motherboard).
If you have an iPod classic, video, mini, or something older, it is very upgradeable.
Assuming yours is 8gb though, it's probably flash and therefore un-upgradeable, sorry!

  • Running out of room..

Okay "My Library" on iTunes is set on my C drive. My C drive is running out of room. Now I have a D drive that is brand new. How do I transfer all the music from the C and set it up to the D?

    Try this:
Move all of your files to a file on your D drive, perhaps C:\itunes\itunes music to D:\itunes\itunes music.
Then open iTunes and click on Edit - Preferences and then open the advanced tab.
On the Advanced tab you will see a window that indicates the looaction of the music folder. You should be able to just change C to D. If not, then click on "Change" and you can select the folder.

  • Running out of room - combine drives?

I've got two internal flash drives and I am running out of room on my start-up disk. Its almost all programs. Can I span the two drives into one? The star-up is 240 gig and the second is 120 gig. Or can I move some of these programs to the second disk?

    Hi Babdi,
That's of some help - at least now I know that it is sound files that are taking the biggest chunk of memory, but I need a better break down than that. For example, I have files belonging to over 20 podcasts - I would like to see which particular podcast is taking up the most room and trim that one. As it is, I can see all individual sound files in the folder:
    Memory Card\Podcasts\Sounds
but it isn't immediately obvious which file belongs to which podcast, and there is no way for me to logically sort them into their categories..
Any other things I can try?
Thank you very much btw - you still showed me something useful.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Apps in iTunes in the cloud and photos in photostream do not use your allocated i~Cloud space.

  • Running out of room on my Nokia N95 8GB

    Hi All,
I am running out of room on my Nokia N95. On my Windows drives for a situation like this, I usually turn to a utility like WinDirStat or TreeSize to tell me how much each folder has, because Win XP by itself doesn't let me see the size of all sub-folders for any given folder.
However, using Nokia PC Suite, the path to my memory card is not accessible to either WinDirStat or TreeSize. In Explorer, it looks like:
    Nokia Phone Browser\Kermit the N95 8GB\Memory Card
But the path in WinDirStat and TreeSize comes up more like, neither of which can work with this:
    ::{20D2AFE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08006A30309D}\::{416651E4-9C3C-11D9-9BDE-F66BBD1E3F3A}\359542013516644\E:
So, how do I get a proper idea of where my space is going?
    Any assistance appreciated.
    Rob

  • I just bought a new 160gb classic because my 80gb classic ran out of room. Can i import all the music on my 80gb to my 160 gb and maintain seperate libraries-----Tom

I just bought a new Classic 160gb because i ran out of room on my Classic 80gb. Can i copy all the music from my 80gb Classic on my 160 gb and still maintain seperate libraries----------Thank You  ---Tom

Yes.  The music on the old iPod will need to be stored in your iTunes library on your computer though for you to sync it over to the new iPod.  See this article for different ways to handle multiple iPods with one computer.

  • W350 help needed - runs out of room synching my Outlook Notes

I have about 50 short notes saved in Outlook Notes that I would like to have synched with my W350 phone.  Trouble is, that when I synch, I run out of room for these Notes at around #40.
My question:  My phone has a 2GB ram chip in it.  If I go to a bigger chip, will I be able to download all the notes?  Trouble is, I am not sure if the phone uses this extra memory for Notes, or if it's in some kind of built-in memory in the phone.  I don't keep music or anything other than Contacts and Calendar items on the phone.
    Thanks for your help.

Hi there, unfortunately notes are sync'ed to the internal memory of the phone. The internal memory is about 14MB so it is limited, I'm not aware of any software to allow you to sync directly with the memory card
