Out of sink audio

Hello, I have out of sink audio when I import a movie into motion. The project is a 1080i with a background picture and a dvpal movie in the center of the frame, a picture in picture type thing. The original movie was a mPeg1. I've done this so the movie isn't blown out when viewed on a large screen TV. Everything is fine but the audio is a few seconds behind. I'm using Motion 2
Thankyou

The clip is a 640 x 480 Qtime mov and the motion settings are HDV 1080i. I'm trying to place the smaller clip in the larger motion so I can view it on a large screen without the smaller clip being blown to smithereens. As a work around I have re-synced the audio from the motion export in FCP and made my DVD asset from there.
Thanks

  • Encore is putting my files out of sink with the audio.

Hi,  I have a completed sequence video file in PPro 5.5.  I make sure all the clips are "linked" to the audio source (the source is from recorded audio from a sound board)  I only use the on camera audio for sinking with the good audeo.  When all is done I also select the entire sequence and group it.  I make sure everything is sinked perfectly and also have another person check it as well.  When I send this to Encore to make a DVD it usually puts it out of sink by a split second but its noticeable.  Does anyone know what is going on?  I didn't have this issue with CS4.
    Thanks Kate

    Kate,
As far as the Audio, in a lead in (and similar can apply to a lead out), many high-end DVD players take a moment to "lock" onto the Audio signal. This is a common problem with DD AC3 Audio, whether 5.1, or stereo. It is suggested that one allow ~ 02 sec. of silence at the beginning. In my Sequences, I always begin with 02 sec. of Black Video, and Dip-to-Black to fade up from black to my Video. I begin my Audio at that 02 sec. point. When that Audio Stream is Exported, I get 02 sec. of silence. Neil Wilkes, one of the MOD's here, refers to that as Black Audio. This keeps any gaps from the Audio Track in Encore, and gives DVD/BD players time to lock onto the Audio.
As there can be slight differences in the Duration of Exported Video and Audio (block size differences), I repeat that process at the end of each PrPro Sequence, by adding 02 sec. of Black Video and the Dip-to-Black Transition. My Audio always ends at the beginning of that Black Video, so I get 02 sec. of silence. The problem with an Audio Track, that is slightly longer, than the Video, is that the DVD-spec. was written primarily with Video in mind. With a longer (and I am talking just a handful of Audio Units here) Audio Track, then there is a gap in the Video - it ends short. That can cause problems in Transcoding, and often yields a "Failure to Return Frame" error.
Those little snippets of Black Video also make things easier, when the DVD player's heads have to reposition, which can cause a "black flash," and in my case, any black flash happens during black, so it is never seen.
    Good luck,

  • Dropped frames or out-of-sync audio

Using Sony HDR-FX1 and FCE-HD is set to DV-NTSC. I've also tried DV-NTSC Firewire Basic. I've been trying various suggestions I've found in the Discussions to cure dropped frames that prevent me from capturing and out-of-sync audio making footage I do capture useless. Mac is running 10.4 with 5.5 GB of RAM and dual 2 GHz G5.
I'm capturing to my main hard drive which has plenty of space - when I'm done editing, I archive old footage on an external drive.
"Abort capture on dropped frames" is currently checked. Lately, this means I can't get more than a few seconds without the capture stopping. This never used to happen, now it happens all the time no matter what tapes I'm capturing from.
If I uncheck it, the audio on the captured footage is out of sync. Over time, as I've been trying to trouble shoot this using the Discussions, my projects remain unfinished and deadlines are looming sooner and sooner.
If someonce could please help me I'd be very grateful.

    Hi(Bonjour)!
Did you shoot in DV or HDV ?
Did you try to capture HDV with Apple Intermediate Codec 1080i60 (or 50 for europe)?
Does you downconvert HDV shooted to DV upon capturing from camcorder ?
DV-NTSC 48 kHz is the way to go with downconverted material.
Does your DV audio setting is 16 bit on FX1 ? (HDV is a fixed one).

  • Audio/video out of sync (audio delay) with PowerBeats wireless earphones.

I am having a problem with audio/video sync between my  PowerBeats Wireless earphones with my MacPro and MacBookPro. I have tried pairing, playing the video, pausing the video, turning off the PowerBeats, tuning the PowerBeats on, then starting the video playback again. I have the same audio delay so this not working for me. Anyone have an update as to how to fix this audio/video sync problem?

I am playing MPEG-4 movie files. I did open MPlayerX from my dock, then pulled down File to select Open which then did show the folder where these movie files are stored.  Then I was able to select a movie file, open it, and use "Decrease Audio Delay" to closely sync the audio with the video. I say closely because it is not perfect. Rather than stepping each increase or decrease in one tenth of a second, perhaps a finer adjustment would have been in milliseconds. This is the adjustment that I have with my AVR to sync the audio with the video, so I know this is a possible increment adjustment. The perfect adjustment was in between -0.4 and -0.5 second, however, this was not possible in one tenth second adjustments. The closest adjustment was with -0.4 second rather than with -0.5 second. So, adjustments in milliseconds could have been very near a perfect sync. Perhaps later versions of MPlayer will offer the adjustment selection in milliseconds. Nevertheless, this is working much, much better than before. Thank you so much. I have spent most of this day researching this problem and you have come up with by far the best solution. This problem goes all the way back to 2010 and possibly beyond for Apple products. There are hundreds of reports documenting out of sync audio/video issues with no solution that works as well as MPlayerX. Even the Beats support staff have no idea of how to resolve the audio/video out of sync.

  • Out of sync audio markers

Why there are not out of sync audio warnings in final cut x?

Not sure this is the best place to ask questions about why 'features' are not in the application, but to give you a genral answer from the manual about what I assume you are pondering:
By default, Final Cut Pro imports audio and video from the same source into one clip. You can easily detach the audio from a video clip so that you can edit the audio clip separately in the Timeline.
This means that unless you detached the audio yourself, the clip is treated as one source. If you detach it, you are own your own.
If you are wanting to request a feature of some sort for Final Cut Pro X, try this Feedback Form.
    Best of Luck!

  • Out of sync audio six channels

    Dear All,
I have not had a problem with this before, but suddenly I have out-of-sync audio when mixing six channels in FCP. Using my Canon XL1-S, I recorded 4 channels of audio in 12 bit mode, 32 khz. I then added another two channels of audio from a separate Sony digital recorder into the FCP edit. First I set the sequence settings to 32khz and ran everything in 32 bit mode, converting all of the audio through Quicktime pro. The 4 channels from the Canon XL1-s are in perfect sync, but the two channels from the Sony digital are playing at a faster speed and are drifting as the movie progresses...the length is 1:25:00. I then went back and converted everything to 48khz and changed the Sequence settings accordingly, but the Sony audio is still drifting and playing more slowly than the other two channels. What am I doing wrong and how can I bring all of the audio together? Thanks. I'm working with FCP 6.0.6 on a Mac Pro with Snow Leopard 10.6.6. Barbara Smits

What is the format of these Sony files?
. . . the Sony audio is still drifting and playing more slowly than the other two channels.
Unless you are timecode locked between devices, it seems reasonable to me that there will be sync drift if the Sony external recorder is not locked to the video signal.
You might try selecting the Sony audio clips on the timeline and adjusting the speed slightly, such as 101% and see if that gets you closer to sync.
    Hope this helps

  • Brought film is out of sink between action and voice

I purchased a film but on playback it is out of sink the action is not matching the sound I am using windows 8 can some one help others wise i will not purchase anything from itunes again

    Nightingales
I am with you all the way.
    1. With Premiere Element closed, go to Libraries/Documents/Videos and create a new folder in the Videos, by right clicking a blank space there, selecting New and then Folder. Name the new folder "Showreel 2914 Simply Me".
    2. Given you have your Premiere Elements 12 project created and ready to be exported....
Open the project to the Expert workspace
    Go to Publish+Share/Computer/AVCHD/ and there set the preset for MP4 - H.264 1920 x 1080p25.
Note that in there is a Save In: in that AVCHD export settings area. What you want to do is click on the Save In: Browse button and direct the Save In: to the "Showreel 2914 Simply Me" Folder that you created beforehand. Inspect the Browse dialog to the left that opened when you hit Browse. Do you see the folder you want and created beforehand?
At this point, click OK to the Browse dialog after you have select the "Showreel 2914 Simply Me" Folder in the Browse dialog.
In the AVCHD export settings area, name the file that you will be producing and putting in that folder in Videos. In the example, I named it the same as the folder.
When the export is complete, you will have an AVCHD.mp4 file named "Showreel 2914 Simply Me" in the "Showreel 2914 Simply Me" Folder in Videos.
Your AVCHD export settings area should look like the the screenshot below immediately before you hit Save to initiate the export process.
Go over the steps to make sure it works for you.
In all this I am taking for granted that your project files and settings for the project were established for OK. So, if all is working as per your test run, we will not start talking about project settings at this point.
We will be watching for your follow up results.
    Best wishes,

  • N95 8GB- my tv out wont work. audio will work but ...

Can any of you tech heads help me. i've placed films on my fone but with the the tv out only get audio. i've tried settinf pal to ntsc and vice versa. any ideas??

I use DIVX player with TV-out so that's not a problem.
Maybe you have a bad TV-out cable or some specific problem in the phone.
Unfortunately I would suggest that you take it back to a repair shop.
Even if you choose the wrong format(NTSC instead of PAL or whatever) you will see an image. A bad image but an image nonetheless, so the fact that you see black screen only means that there is no video.
have you tried in other TV?, can you see the Menu grid or any other thing at all?
640K Should be enough for everybody

  • Multiple Audio out: usb dac audio out and hdmi out

Good afternoon everyone, I have a 2010 mac mini with the following audio set up.
    - A usb dac (xtreamer) connected to my stereo amplifier
    - an Hdmi cable to the tv to get  video and audio diretcly to the tv
Is it possibile by any chance to get simoultanesly audio output both from usb audio out and hdmi audio out???
In "midi preference panel" I tried to create a "virtual" sound card but i am not able to get sound simoultanesly. or via hdmi, or via usb.
this is quite disappointing because if I want to listen to music with the amplifier and then watching a simple video with mac mini and tv only I need to go back to the audio preferences and set up manually each time.
Is it possible to solve this issue???
Thanks a lot and gretings from Italy

I can select ATV audio out (Airplay setting) to either my Airport Express or my computer so it must be transmitting via airplay. Using a combination of Airserver, Airfoil and Airfoil Speakers I managed to get the ATV audio content on both my PC and my Airport Express at the same time but it cuts out the ATV audio.
My aim is to have a movie on ATV transmitting the Audio to ATV AND my stereo (which is hooked up to the Airport Express).
    Cheers

  • When I'm editing sometimes the video will blank out or the audio will blank out. Anyone know what might be wrong?

The video blacks out and the audio goes on by itself, or vice versa.

  • Creating 5.1 surround sound out of stereo audio

    Hi,
I'm new to surround sound editing, so for the past few weeks I've been searching through internet how to create suround sound for my movie. I have a whole movie already done in Premiere Pro 5 (every scene in it's own squence). In these sequences I have stereo audio clips that  create a complete stereo sound, but since this movie is going to go on film festivals I have to create surround sound.
Through my reasearch I came across many explanations of how to create it, but the more I read the more it confused me so I decidet to ask for help on this forum.
    1. Is it posible to create surroundsound directly out of stereo audio (I know that the sequences that you are working in has to be set to surround sound) that I have in first, second and third chanel, that have  surround sound controls above them in Audio mixer?
    2. I know that  in 5.1 chanels you can only inport 5.1 surround sound tracks. My question is, do I have to take each stereo clip, transform it in mono clip and then create a stereo clip out of that mono clip?
    3. Did I completly miss the whole concept of creating surround sound and that I would have to do it diferently?
    Thanks for helping out, Jaggarjack

To output to DD 5.1 SS, you will need an Encoder, like the Minnetonka Audio SurCode DD5.1 SS plug-in.
You can also use Audition (do not know about SB) to create 6-channel files (usually WMA w/ either 5, or 6 discrete channels, depending on how you handle the LFE). Still, to use such a set of files with Audio-Visual material, you will need an Encoder. Minnetonka Audio has others, like the SurCode DD 5.1 SS stand-alone and the DTS stand-alone.
If you have disassembled the original audio streams into mono sources, you can create faux 5.1 SS, and with a little work, it can be quite convincing. The 5.1 controls in a 5.1 Master Project, can be very useful for "creating" your sound stage. You can also use those to feed certain frequencies from other sources to the LFE, and to the Center channel. With good stereo in the Front speakers, you should already have a decent phantom Center, and can punch that up even more.
I would recommend starting with the Help File for "Surrond Sound," to get the basics down, plus the mechanics in PrPro. HERE is a little sample. You might also want to see the links in this PrPro-Wiki Search for more material.
The Recording Academy's Producers & Engineers' Recommendations for Surround Sound Production is useful paper.
    I recommend three books:
Surround Sound, Second Edition: Up and Running, Tomlinson Holman (cannot find my copy for ISBN)
Instant Surround Sound, Jeffery Fisher, CMP Books ISBN 1-57820-246-9
Basics of Video Sound, Des Lyver, Focal Press ISBN 0-240-51561-7
That would be a good start.
    Happy reading, and up-mixing,
    Hunt
