Out of Sync, try to solve this one!!!

Here's a mystery for you to solve.
I have a SD DVD project made in Encore CS3.
When playing the footage on one DVD player in my house. (The nicest one I have I might add, a high-end Sony), the Audio is out of sync with the video.
When I play it on other DVD players such as computers, XBOX, Playstation, LG DVD player, they all play in sync with no problems.
Now this Sony DVD player I have is my favorite player, it's nice, it's always played everything perfect, even now it plays everything from Star Wars to Cheech and Chong completely in synch.
I've tried every setting imaginable, importing, exporting, you name it.
So what is going on with this player?
Why does it play everything else in sync, but not the DVD's I burn with encore?
Do you have any suggestions?
I've even exported to ISO's and folder, still same problem.
Here are my settings:
DVD+R 4.7G
All encoding settings set to default. (I've tried many others)
Project length: 5min.
Thanks for your help.

Yes, strange.
This is a problem with DVD+R DL? Or DVD+R in general? Have you tried DVD-R? Or tried a different brand of DVD+R? Also, 6 & 7 MBps isn't a wide range of transcoding bit rates. How does 3 MBps work on this player using the same media? Try lower values and see if one "clicks".
Recordable DVD compatibility is inexact, at best. You may have to juggle some of the many variables to find the best compatibility. Even then, there may be other players that won't play it.
Best compatibility is replicated DVD, which all players are designed to play. Recordable DVD, as you have found, is a bit more of gamble.

  • Does anyone out there know how to solve this one?

    I have no music on my computer. All of the music that used to be there is still on my ipod, however. I don't want to put the music back on the computer from the ipod but I would like to put songs into my itunes, transfer them to the ipod without losing the music that is currently on the ipod. Can I do that? Or when I hook up the ipod will it erase everything that is currently on there? thanks to anyone who can answer!

    First this:
    How to Stop the iPod from Autosyncing (and Deleting My Music)
    Then this:
    Manually Managing Music
    But I would not recommend syncing this way as the iPod could need to be restored if it ever encounters problems and you would be out of an entire library.

  • I have a iPhone 5.  In usage, it says i have 2.1 gigs used because of photos and camera.  I have deleted all my photos via iPhoto and now reset the phone back to factory settings in order to try to solve this problem, to no avail. Help!

    I have a iPhone 5.  In usage, it says i have 2.1 gigs used because of photos and camera.  I have deleted all my photos via iPhoto and now reset the phone back to factory settings in order to try to solve this problem, to no avail.   Both iTunes  and the phone say that 2.1 gigs are being used, even though the phone now has nothing on it.  What is going on?

    Yeah it works fine over wifi the problem is when I try to use it over my 3G. It's really stressing me out now.

  • Msg 2114 error when i try to text this one person with my iPhone 4S???

    I seem to have an issue when i try to text this one person.....
    They do NOT recieve my texts.....but i can recieve theirs.
    I get a message after i send them a text from 923-0 that says i used the invalid number of digits.....MSG 2114
    Tried deleting the contact , resending just using the number hand typed in...and still does not work!
    HELP!!!

    Finally Worked!  Remove all instances of the contact name and number used in previous messages, phone calls, recents, etc.  Shut down sms, mms, imessage, etc in settings.  Restart phone.  Go back to settings and restart sms, mms, imessage.  Send a text without creating the contact first, just enter the 10 digit cell number and send text.  Worked for my iphone 4s texting to 1 person's android I couldn't send before.  That 1 person was a previous contact that had only 7 digits entered  for the phone number.  Now I added that contact back to the list and sending text still works.  Contact phone number now shows up as +1 (xxx) xxx-xxxx .  Thanks wjosten.

  • Audio Sync Issue ... this one is tricky

    Well, it's tricky for me anyway. I'm hoping this is a no brainer for someone out there and I can kick myself in the pants and call myself stupid when this is all over.
    Here is the setup.
    Talk Show. 2 Camera project (C1 and C2) in Final Cut Pro. When the footage was shot, there were two audio lines (A1 and A2) going to C1. A1/C1 were for the host and A2/C2 for the guest. Both Camera's capturing on P2 cards.
    Okay, the project is all complete in FCP, everything is in sync. I print to DVC Pro, everything is in sync. I export to a QT file for DVD Studio and burn it to DVD and get this .. ALL AUDIO IS IN SYNC EXCEPT FOR THE FOOTAGE OF C2.
    I could understand if the entire thing drifted out of sync, but this is just weird. This is not an isolated incidence either. Every time I edit this show this is a problem. Is this an issue that can be addressed in Compressor or with export setting from FCP?

    Please do not double post. Keep the discussion to one thread - preferably the linked one.

  • Bet you cant solve this ONE!!! Connecting my Samsung HDTV to my Macbook

    I have looked for hours upon hours of all the forums. So here goes...
    I have a Black Macbook running Snow Leaopard with a mini DVI to VGA adapter.
    I have the VGA running to the back of my Samsung LCD 37" HDTV.
    But when i press the source button on the tv, it says "no input device are connected".
    I have tried multiple things such as picking a couple random displays (800x600 etc.)
    I have also tried mirroring displays.
    The crazy thing is that when i cascade my desktop or show my spaces, it shows the external monitor next to my main screen.
    I read somewhere that if you get the refresh rate below 60hz that it would work, but thats not an option.
    My mouse even acts like it goes to the next screen when i drag it all the way to the right.
    I have called Samsung to no avail, even AppleCare couldnt really help.
    If you solve this, you should put your application into AppleCare Support.
    This is urgent that i get this fixed by Sunday Morning, Thanks for your help!!!

    Is it an Apple brand mini DVI to VGA adapter? I've heard of incompatibilities with off brands. Have you tested the VGA to VGA cable to make sure it works? The reason I'm offering these suggestions is your MacBook knows something is plugged in but your TV isn't getting it. You might also check your tv's manual for a clue.

  • Who can help a newbie solve THIS one???

    Ok,
    I have made a class that looks like this...
    class holder{
    JRadioButton button = new JRadioButton();
    int x =0;
    int y =0;
    I have now made 3 objects of class holder and placed each RadioButton from the 3 objects onto the applet screen. I have also added itemlisteners for each button.
    This is my problem. When a holder object is clicked, I want to do two things. I want to change the icon AND be able to change the x and/or y variable.
    I can get the source of the object by doing something like this....
    AbstractButton source = (AbstractButton) itm.getSource() ;
    but when I try something like this
    Holder source = (Holder) itm.getSource
    and then click on the button in the applet I get a ClassCastException error.
    Any ideas?

    class holder{
    JRadioButton button = new JRadioButton();
    int x =0;
    int y =0;
    your holder HAS a JRadioButton but not IS a JRadioButton
    so you cannot do the casting like that
    define like
    class holder extends JRadioButton
    and you can cast holder to JRadioButton
    i thought u want to do sth like
    class holder extends JRadioButton{ int x; int y;}
    class test extends Applet {
         private holder ;
         public void init() {
         h =0 new holder();
         holder.addActionListener(new holderHandler(this)); // pass in applet
         add(holder);
         class holderHandler implements ActionListener{
              Applet applet;
              public holderHandler(Applet a) {applet =a ;}
              public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e)
              {  changing x,y event here}
    }

  • Zen Micro Problem -- Just TRY and figure this one out

    So, I never dropped my zen micro, never played soccer with it, never sent it to the moon. It's possible someone else has, and isn't fessing up to it, but all I know is I came home one day to find a non-working Zen Micro.
    The symptoms: I can charge batteries, I can make it glow blue by plugging it in. If it's running just off battery it gets to the CREATIVE screen and just stays there until the battery dies. If it's plugged in, it does the same thing but glows blue.. and doesn't die.
    I CAN go into recovery mode, but none of the options do anything [well, restart does.. it takes me back to the CREATIVE screen]. The other ones keep formatting and whatnot forever, which is a good indication it just froze as soon as I pressed format.
    I also tried to plug it in, and format it off my computer as a removable disk, but unfortunately neither my computer nor my friends is picking up the Zen Micro as a removable disk and placing it on the My Computer tray.
    If anyone has any advice, if anyone has seen this type of thing before, etc etc, please share.
    Desperately seeking help,
    Music Anonymous

    You'll need to call Creative's support phone line so that they can give you an RMA number for your player. Then, just ship it to the address they tell you.

  • Can anyone solve this one?

    Hi,
    I've got a problem with compiling the code below.
    I've downloaded a java and a class file. The class file is working (it's a slide-menu).
    Because I wanted to update a record in a DB, I changed the java file. The part I changed is the part under ActionPerformed. The actionPerformed code is working independently.
    But when I implement it in the java file, he stops compiling.
    I tried to compile the original code, but it stopped also at the same line. In the new code it's line 318.
    The line is:
    this.add(mainMenu);
    and the error is:
    method add(java.awt.Menu) not found in class FisMenu.
    The strangest thing is that he gives an error in the code which is used in the WORKING class file.
    I have had a hint to use Japplet instead of Applet, thats why I post this problem here.
    can anyone help me out?
    thanks in advance.

    But I'll sure appriciate any help from you or anyone else, today and in the future :)
    about the working class file, I downloaded it once and it's working, but when I compile the java file it crashes (even in de original downloaded code).
    I just need a way for my code to accept the add method (even if there are major changes needed).

  • If I try to text this ONE person, it sends as SMS, even though she has an iPhone; she can iMessage me, though.

    I've had an iPhone 4 for a little over a year now, and never had any issues with iMessage, but my friend just got an iPhone 5C. Of course, I still text her, but my texts always go out as SMS's. I can still recieve her texts, though, as iMessages. This only happens with her contact. There has been one time that my text sent as an iMessage, but I hadn't moved to a different location or anything.
    I tried switching her number to iPhone instead of just Mobile in her contact, but there wasn't an option for iPhone. Today I created a new contact for her, and managed to enter her number as an iPhone. Even after that, it wouldn't work. I tried going somewhere I'd have WiFi, in case it had something to do with my carrier. She can text other people with iMessage, too.
    Any ideas??? I'd really appreciate it

    Hello there, frogs13.
    The following Knowledge Base article has some great information for troubleshooting your issue:
    iOS: Troubleshooting Messages
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2755
    Specifically:
    If you are still unable to send or receive an iMessage, follow these steps
    Make sure that the contact trying to message you isn't blocked in Settings > Messages > Blocked.
    Verify that the contact you are attempting to send a message to is registered with iMessage.
    If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, back up or forward important messages and delete your current messaging threads with the contact. Create a new message to the contact and try again.
    If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, delete and re-create the contact in the Contacts application. Create a new message to the newly created contact and try again.
    Back up and restore your device as new.
    Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • I HOPE SOMEONE KNOWS HOW TO SOLVE THIS ONE! =] i tried

    WELL I HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY COMPUTER AND HAD TO COMPLETELY START IT OVER. SO WHEN I WENT ON ITUNES IT SAID MY IPOD CAN ONLY BE SYNCED WITH ONE COMPUTER. IT SAID I COULD ERASE AND SYNC BUT I CANT DO THAT BECAUSE I HAVE NO MUSIC IN THE ITUNES LIBRARY BECAUSE LIKE I SAID...I HAD TO START THE COMPUTER OVER AND EVERYTHING WAS RENEWED. THERES ANOTHER OPTION TO TRANSFER PURCHASES BUT THAT DOES NOT WORK FOR SOME REASON. SO I NEED A WAY TO MAYBE PUT ALL THE MUSIC FROM THE IPOD INTO MY COMPUTER... THEN ERASE THEM FROM IPOD AND SYNC. SO I CAN ALWAYS UPLOAD EVERYTHING BACK. IM REALLY NOT SURE BUT I WAS JSUT HOPING SOME ONE WAS SMART ENOUGH TO EVEN UNDERSTAND WHAT IM EXPLAINING, IM KIND OF CONFUSING. THANKS TO ANYONE WHO HELPS, IT WILL BE VERY APPRECIATED. =]

    I've got a new iPhone 5 and I have bought four tracks from iTunes to get going with (I usually use Spotify but I want these tracks for ringtones) I can download the tracks on my laptop (which runs windows 7) and on my iPad (4th generation) but on the phone, the same message comes up again and again. I've tried restarting the phone, resetting the network settings, resetting all settings, restoring the phone on iTunes. Nothing works. The phone syncs with the laptop in iTunes, everything except the music. I've got music ticked in the options and I have the option selected to transfer entire music library (which is only 38 songs). In the drop down menu on the left, the phone shows all the music under the "music" tab, but only in grey and you cannot open or play any of it from there, although you can play any of the tunes if you access them from the iTunes menu at the top left. I'm going mad, here. Apple are running out of answers. Can anyone help?

    Are you using a PC or a Mac? Have you tried to reset your sync history? You say that you tried a restore, was that a restore from a backup, or a restore as a new device? Have you tried unselecting music to sync, sync the device and then select music again and then try to sync the device?

  • You are an iPod expert if you can solve this one

    Here's what's happening:
    ~I plugged my iPod into the wall, and it worked perfectly fine...UNTIL I hit the play button. Then it starts to make a clicking noise approximately every five seconds
    ~I wiped out all of the songs by manually restoring it, but when I went to plug it back into the wall again, all of the songs magically reappeared (I'm stumped as to how that happened)
    ~The battery icon says it's charging but will show that it's entirely dead.
    ~Both the software folder symbol AND the sad iPod icon have appeared but switch off and on.
    ~My computer recognizes that it's plugged in as a 'Removable Disk' but iTunes doesn't recognize it.
    What i've done:
    ~Reset it more times than I can remember
    ~Restarted my computer a LOT
    ~Reinstalled iTunes with all of the software updates.
    ~Plugged and unplugged it from the wall charger to give it back the little life it appears to have left.
    My warranty is long expired so this is my last attempt to fix it. I'd rather not have to go and spend another 250 bucks on another 20 or 30 gb so any help is appreciated. Thanks for reading!

    There is a pretty comprehensive post written by another forum member which is about the sad iPod icon or the folder and ! icon.

  • If You Can Solve This One, Then You Seriously Win

    Here's the deal. I have a 3G 15gig iPod that I refuse to let die. It has a new battery that I recently installed.
    It will not charge through firewire to the wall or to my macbook pro, nor will it charge through usb (which goes without saying on 3G's). There are 2 ways to give it power, my roommates Bose iPod soundsystem, and my G4 tower at home through firewire. No other way to give it power. (Read: firewire seems messed up.)
    Something is corrupted and I've tried every possible way to erase the disk and corrupted files to allow me to Restore the system firmware. The iPod is hasn't worked in some time. A PC will recognize it (but not in iTunes) so I've formatted it on a PC to FAT32 through Windows XP. Then plugged into my macbook, no dice. I thought erasing the corrupted files on the PC would do something, but it didn't.
    On a mac, it will recognize the iPod through USB, not through Firewire. Incidentally, I can run Disk Utility and format the pants off the thing, but to no avail. I've erased and formatted, in Mac Os Extended, and in Extended (Journaled), I've even done the "Zero Out Data" erase, which turns the entire disk into zeros--but that doesn't work either. No matter what I do, the iPod will show me the Folder icon after starting up.
    When the iPod is recognized through USB, it will be formatted through Disk Utility, but not through iTunes, which claims that "iPod must be connected through firewire to restore." The hitch of course, is that the iPod refuses to be recognized on firewire.
    Recently, after doing the Zero-Out-Data erase, iTunes didn't refuse to Restore because of USB, but instead gave me the 1418 error as I tried to Restore through USB.
    So my question, how can I fix this sucker without buying a new harddrive?
    How can I restore an iPod through USB, or how can I get my macbook pro to recognize my ipod through firewire?
    Much, much obliged if you have any input.
    --David.

    I'm thinking of purchasing a new hard drive, as I think that is the problem. Would this likely allow me to charge my ipod again via firewire and restore it, etc.? Or does the fact that I can't connect via firewire mean there is something deeply wrong? (ie a new logic board would be in order)

  • Very weird monitor problem, betcha can't solve this one.

      OK I have a MacBook Pro 2.4GHz with 4GB of Ram, it's fully up to date with Lion, and is connected to a Formac W2300-1U 23 inch TFT Monitor (DVI, VGA, 1920 x1080, 1000:1, 5ms, 400cd/m²) through a HDMI to Mini port adaptor.
    Now, the problem is the monitor flicks off, then on, at first I thought it was just randomly, but today I isolated the problem to something specific that make it happen. When I open the preference panel, and click on 'Trackpad' as soon as the video demo starts to play the monitor switches off then on.
    It's totally weird, what on earth could be causing this? Any ideas?

    ok well i have no idea what happened. i started out again with a fresh installation of JBoss, and it worked. no clue as to what was wrong. musta been some JAR that was out of place or something.
    thank you for your help!
