Out of the box iphone dfu restore

Hello guys,
Soon ill receive my fist iphone ever, its gonna be 4s, so i wanted to ask for a little bit of help from pro users
I saw this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdwz1w47HqE
And as i dont have an iphone 4 to compare it to 4s for any speed related issues shown in this video.
I want to make and DFU restore or just basic restore just to be sure everything works as it should, but i dont know which one is better.I suppose it should be DFU,
but to be sure, i wanted to ask you guys for recommendation.
Thats it for 1st question, another one would be if i should do that straight out of the box without even turning on device, or should i turn in on,activate it set up some things and after that do DFU restore or basic restore.
Im looking forward to any helpful comments and i want to apologize for my bad english
With best regards
Radim.

Well it's completely up to you, but I suggest that you activate your phone out of the box and then DFU restore. But honestly, iphone 4S should be clean installed out of the box. Apple doesn't put junks or trials into their OS out of the box. Only Microsoft vendors does that (HP, Toshiba, Dell, Sony, etc)

  • Can I use my iPhone 6 out of the box to take photos, before syncing it with my computer?

I will be receiving a new iPhone 6 at the beginning an upcoming trip and would like to use the great camera on it to take photos. The problem is I won't have my computer with me during this trip. Will I be able to use my iPhone right out of the box to take photos, and when I sync my iPhone for the first time will I risk losing those photos? Thank you for the help.

Yes unless you transfer Photos off iOPS device to your PC/Mac

  • Restore iMac to "out of the box"

I have replaced my iMac desktop. New one is up and running.
I would now like to restore my old one to "out of the box" condition to give to my aunt.
I tried Command R on start up and after the system was reinstalled, have found that my information is still on there.
    Can anyone help?
    Thank you

    Follow these instructions:
What to do before selling or giving away your Mac
    In addition to the above:
If you enabled FileVault, disable it in System Preferences > Security & Privacy.
"Deauthorize" your iTunes account. Same for Audible if you have one.
System Preferences > iCloud > de-select "Back to My Mac" and "Find my Mac".
Sign out of iCloud. Select "Delete from Mac" when it appears.
    Then:
Start your Mac with its original System Installation DVD (if your Mac shipped with one) or OS X Recovery (if it didn’t).
Remove any Open Firmware password if you created one: select Firmware Password Utility from the Utilities menu and remove it.
Select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
Remove any partitions you may have created.
Select the Mac's hard disk icon, then select the "Erase" tab.
Select the "Security Options" button and erase the disk.
The more "securely" you erase the disk, the longer it will take. The fastest method is sufficient since all but the most expensive techniques and equipment will be able to recover securely erased data.
When it finishes, quit Disk Utility.
Select Install Mac OS X from the Utilities menu. Do not create any user accounts.
When it finishes, shut down the computer.
If you want to install the bundled apps that were included with your Mac, restart by using your Applications DVD and install the bundled apps.
Applicable to selling outside your family or others close to you: Don't forget to include any DVDs that came with your iMac, your AppleCare certificate if you bought it, printed documentation, even the box if you still have it.
Execute a bill of sale showing the Mac's serial number.
Once no longer in your possesion, remove the Mac from your devices in My Support Profile.

  • Can I use the iPhone 5 out of the box as a wifi device?

Can I buy an Unlocked iPhone 5 from Apple when it is released and use it out of the box as a wifi device without needing unlock codes and sim cards? I do not plan on getting phone service right away and would like for the device to be functional (basically like a real expensive iPod) until i'm ready to get service.

Meg is correct, unless you activate it using a microSIM if it is a GSM phone (and starting service with a CDMA phone) you will not be able to do anything with your new phone except call 911.
Why not just wait and buy it when you can afford service?

  • Any idea when we will see units new out of the box without a scratch on iPhone 5?

Any idea when we will see units new out of the box without a scratch?  I was out at Apple to pick up my iPhone 5 in black on Oct 12th.   I opened the box in front of an Apple technician and there was a scratch on the edge.  So I told her I didn't want a scratched iPhone.  So she returned and brought out another phone.   Well, she couldn't get it to a accept the new iPhone because there's a 24hr waiting period when you make a return.  This is Verizon's policy, but of course we didn't find out until 2.5hrs later.
So she says you'll have to return but we will hold this phone for you.  I was disappointed after being there for a total of 3.5hrs and no iPhone.   I returned on Saturday hoping the next iPhone didn't have a scratch.   I opened the box and there was a scratch!   I live 40 minutes from these store, so it's not close.
I have an iPhone 4 that's in excellent condition!  I don't want a new iPhone 5 with a scratch, unless its a scratch caused by me.

We're users here.  Why would you ask a question here that no one can answer?  Are you impaired in some way intellectually?

    Hello,
I have an imac 21.5 mid 2010 and want to restore it to out-of-the-box condition.  It came with no dvds.
    thanks,

That model should have come with a DVD for 10.6.3 or .4
Call apple support and request the DVD for your model.  (The retail SL DVD won't help in your case as it's too old).

How do you restore a MacBook Pro back to the original out of the box state

Click here and follow the instructions. If the computer originally shipped with Mac OS X 10.6.8 or earlier, when you reach step 5, insert its original disk, restart with the C key held down, use the Disk Utility to erase the internal drive, and install a fresh OS.

Brand new iPad 3 out of the box - set up problem. It says my Apple ID (email address) is already being used. I reset the password successfully but still says I need another Apple ID. Why won't the ID recornize me?

Open current iTunes on your computer. Connect iPhone to the computer with the Lightning USB Cable. Hold both the Home and Power buttons for about 20 seconds until iTunes recognizes the iPhone in Recovery Mode. Click the Restore button of iTunes. If still problem, make Genius reservation or set up Sevice and take or send to Apple for resolution under Warranty.

  • Why during setup of mx922 I get a 6000 and a 6001 error message right out of the box

I just purchased a MX922 and out of the box I get a 6000 error message why?

I'm glad I was able to help.  I kind of wish mine hadn't worked because I ended up being one of the "lucky" individuals where my phone didn't restore from the backup and I lost all of my contacts, calendar appts, notes, etc.  It took me an extra 2 hrs last night to rebuild the next month worth of appts and try to rebuild my contact list from my yahoo contacts.  Oh well.  I will be getting an android at my next upgrade.  I'm tired of all of the BS that comes with owning an iPhone.

  • How do I sync my iPad to iTunes after setting it up independently out of the box?

I bought my iPad a couple of months ago and set it up straight out of the box as I didnt have my laptop there. It is synced to back up over Lion and all that Jazz but now I want to sync it to my iTunes so that I can put big files on it easily (movies etc). However, it wants me to completely restore it and resync and set up through iTunes, I will therefore lose everything...
    What do I do?

Read this blog and see if this isn't something that you might want to try. I've never had to do this, but I've referred a few users to this - who were having the same issue as you - and it worked for them.
    Take a look.
