  • XML Data Button Not working when Exported onto BusinessObjectEnterprise

    I have an XML data button on a dashboard. It works fine in preview and on web. It does not work if it is exported onto Business Object server using XCelsius' Export to  BusinessObjectEnterprise.
    In the InfoView, I double click on the flash file, the flash files opens as expected, but when XML Data button is clicked, no new data seem to come in...
    If I export as Adobe file, and then post it onto the server, and view it using Info View, the XML data button works just fine.
    Please advise.

    Hi All,
    Even I have similar requirement.
    Any work around is appreciable.

  • Compiling Error While Viewing XML Data in Word

    I received the following message, "Compile error in hidden module: Module_starter" while trying to load sample xml data to view within MS Word while using BI Publisher. Any ideas of what causes this and how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.
    G. Wright

    Getting this error as well.
    I've read the announcement from Tim, and also the Metalink article: Note:457235.1
    However, our desktops at work are locked down to such an extent that I don't have an 'all programs' entry on my start menu.
    I tried what I thought might be the 'Template Builder for Word Language' executable but that also gave me an error (changeUILang.exe).
    Error is: Runtime error '9'. Subscript out of range.
    Could someone please confirm what the shortcut:
    "All Programs --> Oracle BI Publisher Desktop --> Template Builder for Word Language "
    actually points to.
    As to the other option (uninstalling the security patch) this is just a non-starter where I work.
    Thanks for your help,

  • Help needed with sending XML data out of Dashboard design/ Xcelsius

    Hi All,
    I did this a year back and got it right, but now am not able to get it, probably Ive made a small mistake which I have been overlooking.
    I selcted Enable XML send in my XML data connection and dfined the connection name as "Range_1" and Range name also as "Range_1"
    Now I worte this servlet in Java:
    public class PostTestServlet extends HttpServlet{
         protected void doPost(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response){
         String param1=request.getParameter("Range_1");
         System.out.println(param1);
         protected void doGet(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response){
         System.out.println("Get Called");
         doPost(request,response);
         System.out.println("abcd");
    Deployed it to Apache Tomcat 6.
    Also selected the required usage options in Xcelsius for sending data every 10 seconds.
    Now the servlet gets called, I see it in the console.
    But the request.getParameter("Range_1") is returning null.
    Tried many things, not able to figure it out. Any help?
    Thanks
    Nikhil

    Hi,
    Xcelsius/Dashboards will convert the range of values that you want to send into XML.
    It then will POST the XML when it calls the web page.
    For example, if you had created three ranges to send to your web page:
    A (a single cell)
    B (a single cell)
    C (a row of three cells)
    The data in the POST input stream for the web page will look something like this:
    <data>
      <variable name="A">
        <row>
          <column>10</column>
        </row>
      </variable>
      <variable name="B">
        <row>
          <column>15</column>
        </row>
      </variable>
      <variable name="C">
        <row>
          <column>1</column>
          <column>2</column>
          <column>3</column>
        </row>
      </variable>
    </data>
    I don't have an example for ASP, but I do for a JSP (attached).

    Matt

  • Report Based on XML Data Template is timing out

    Hi there,
    i have an XML publisher report based on an XML data template that i've written. The report is working fine except when there is huge data that is supposed to come out, its timing out. Ive set the db_fetch_size parameter to 20 and scalable_mode to on but its still timing out.
    If anyone has a solutiom or a thought it would be much appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Thanks for the reply.
    Well when i'm opening the report , i wait for about 15 seconds then 'Page Cannot be Displayed' appears on my browser. I'm having this case only when i'm expecting huge data. By huge data i mean that the report gets informations about a deal, when the deal has 10 categories the report runs fine, but when i add all catgories, about 1000, it gives me the 'Page cannot be displayed' error. I'm guessing its a time out issue since i've set the scalable_mode parameter to on. Any thoughts ???

  • Spry Tables and Xml Data Sets viewed in IE7

    Has anyone ever run into a problem with Spry Tables and Xml
    Data Sets viewed in IE7? Work fine in IE6 and Firefox, but get the
    error "exception caught while loading feed.xml: [object Error]" in
    IE 7. Any ideas?
    Attached is the xml I'm using.
    Thanks

    I came looking for the answer to this question. I could not
    find an answer. Eventually I found it the answer that worked for
    me, a graphic designer with not much experience in xml.
    The following url provided an errata file in PDF format:
    www.peachpit.com/dwcs3cib
    which includes the following addendum to the incomplete
    instructions in the book i was using to learn about spry:
    "If Internet Explorer 7 is your primary browser, you'll nee
    to take some extra steps to view spry dynamic content locally.
    First, your site must be within the local server webroot; be sure
    your Lessons folder is stored within the Inetpub>wwwroot folder.
    Next, double-click the site name in the files panel to open the
    Site Definition dialogue. Click the Testing Server category; from
    the Access List choose Local/Network. Click Okay to close the Site
    Definition dialogue. Now, when you preview your page with Internet
    Explorer, your local Web server (localhost) serves the page as
    designed."
    Horray for me! Now i can move on from here and actually get
    some work done!

  • DataGrid does not display XML data

    Hello, and thanks for reading this...
    I am having a problem displaying XMLList data in a DataGrid.
    The data is coming from a Tree control, which is receiving it
    from a database using HTTPService.
    The data is a list of "Job Orders" from a MySQL database,
    being formatted as XML by a PHP page.
    If it would be helpful to see the actual XML, a sample is
    here:
    http://www.anaheimwib.com/_login/get_all_orders_test2.php
    All is going well until I get to the DataGrid, which doesn't
    display the data, although I know it is there as I can see it in
    debug mode. I've checked the dataField property of the appropriate
    DataGrid column, and it appears correct.
    Following is a summary of the relevant code.
    ...An HTTPService named "get_all_job_orders" retrieves
    records from a MySQL database via PHP...
    ...Results are formatted as E4X:
    HTTPService resultFormat="e4x"
    ...An XMLListCollection's source property is set to the
    returned E4X XML results:
    ...The "order" node is what is being used as the top-level of
    the XML data.
    <mx:XMLListCollection id="jobOrdersReviewXMLList"
    source="{get_all_job_orders.lastResult.order}"/>
    ...The "jobOrdersReviewXMLList" collection is assigned to be
    the dataProvider property of a Tree list, using the @name syntax to
    display the nodes correctly, and a change event function is defined
    to add the records to a DataGrid on a separate Component for
    viewing the XML records:
    <mx:Tree dataProvider="{jobOrdersReviewXMLList}"
    labelField="@name"
    change="jobPosForm.addTreePositionsToDG(event)"/>
    ...Here is the relevant "jobPosForm" code (the Job Positions
    Form, a separate Component based on a Form) :
    ...A variable is declared:
    [Bindable]
    public var positionsArray:XMLList;
    ...The variable is initialized on CreationComplete event of
    the Form:
    positionsArray = new XMLList;
    ...The Tree's change event function is defined within the
    "jobPosForm" Component.
    ...Clicking on a Tree node fires the Change event.
    ...This passes an event object to the function.
    ...This event object contains the XML from the selected Tree
    node.
    ...The Tree node's XML data is passed into the positionsArray
    XMLList.
    ...This array is the dataProvider for the DataGrid, as you
    will see in the following block.
    public function addTreePositionsToDG(event:Event):void{
    this.positionsArray = selectedNode.positions.position;
    ...A datagrid has its dataProvider is bound to
    positionsArray.
    ...(I will only show one column defined here for brevity.)
    ...This column has its dataField property set to "POS_TITLE",
    a field in the returned XML record:
    <mx:DataGrid width="100%" variableRowHeight="true"
    height="75%" id="dgPositions"
    dataProvider="{positionsArray}" editable="false">
    <mx:columns>
    <mx:DataGridColumn width="25" headerText="Position Title"
    dataField="POS_TITLE"/>
    </mx:columns>
    </mx:DataGrid>
    In debug mode, I can examine the datagrid's dataProvider
    property, and see that the correct XML data from the Tree control
    is present. However, The datagrid does not display the data in any
    of its 6 columns.
    Does anyone have any advice?
    Thanks for your time.

    Hello again,
    I came up with a method of populating the DataGrid from the
    selected Item of a Tree Control which displays complex XML data and
    XML attributes. After the user clicks on a Tree branch, I call this
    function:
    public function addTreePositionsToDG(event:Event):void{
    //Retrieve all "position" nodes from tree.
    //Loop thru each Position.
    //Add Position data to the positionsArray Array Collection.
    //The DataGrid dataprovider is bound to this array, and will
    be updated.
    positionsArray = new ArrayCollection();
    var selectedNode:Object=event.target.selectedItem;//Contains
    entire branch.
    for each (var position:XML in
    selectedNode.positions.position){
    var posArray:Array = new Array();
    posArray.PK_POSITIONID = position.@PK_POSITIONID;
    posArray.FK_ORDERID = position.@FK_ORDERID;
    posArray.POS_TITLE = position.@POS_TITLE;
    posArray.NUM_YOUTH = position.@NUM_YOUTH;
    posArray.AGE_1617 = position.@AGE_1617;
    posArray.AGE_1821 = position.@AGE_1821;
    posArray.HOURS_WK = position.@HOURS_WK;
    posArray.WAGE_RANGE_FROM = position.@WAGE_RANGE_FROM;
    posArray.WAGE_RANGE_TO = position.@WAGE_RANGE_TO;
    posArray.JOB_DESCR = position.@JOB_DESCR;
    posArray.DES_SKILLS = position.@DES_SKILLS;
    positionsArray.addItem(posArray);
    So, I just had to manually go through the selected Tree node,
    copy each XML attribute into a simple Array, then ADD this Array to
    an ArrayCollection being used as the DataProvider for the DataGrid.
    It's not elegant, but it works and I don't have to use a Label
    Function, which was getting way too complicated. I still think that
    Flex should have an easier way of doing this. There probably is an
    easier way, but the Flex documentation doesn't provide an easy path
    to it.
    I want to thank you, Tracy, for the all the help. I checked
    out the examples you have at www.cflex.net and they are very
    helpful. I bookmarked the site and will be using it as a resource
    from now on.

  • How to search XML data from a HTTPMultiService and display the result on the Spark List

    Hello all,
    I am totally new to Flash Builder and Actionscript and hope someone might be able to help me out. I basically create a mobile app with a single view. The view has a TextInput as a search box and a search button. I conntected a Data/Service using a local XML file and bind the Data to a Spark List. Innitally the List will show nothing until the user enter the search term and hit the button. The List suppose to show the XML data that match the search term.

  • Filtering multiple-XML data model with parameters

    I have a data model that consists of a concatenation of 9 separate RSS feeds (weather information from 9 different cities coming from http://www.weather.gov/data/current_obs/????.xml, where ???? is the National Weather Service station ID). All of the feeds have exactly the same format. When I view the raw XML data, I see 9 different values of station_id and of every other tag. So the XML data looks fine. Now I'd like to be able to select one city at a time in an LOV dropdown.
    I've created a static LOV called Cities with the list of the 9 station ID's. I've created a parameter called city that is tied to that LOV.
    What I can't figure out is how to tie the selected city to the station_id field in the concatenated XML dataset.
    I've tied adding a parameter to each rss data set, entering each city's 4-character station ID into its Parameter Name field, and of course choosing city as the parameter. For example, the Parameters section for the Amarillo rss feed would show a Name of KAMA and a Value (Parameter) of city. While this seems logical, selecting the parameter on the View screen doesn't change the display.
    Is there a way to accomplish this?

    Ahhh, post as in "e-mail". DOH!
    E-mailed to you.

  • Populate PDF form with XML data

    Although a seemingly simple task, this question has occupied way too much of my time the last week and I am asking the following out of sheer desperation and frustration.
    I have a pdf form created with Designer 7.0. I have a separate XML data file to populate the form with. I can test using the preview in Designer and everything looks great. Now, all I want to do is deploy this pdf to a standard web server (IIS, Windows) such that any visitor to the site (using Reader) is able to open it/view it/print it, with the data there. That's it.
    This was easily accomplished using Acrobat 6 by creating an ASP page that output an FDF file which referenced the PDF. Not so with the latest version.
    I have downloaded three separate several hundred page documents that do not explain how to accomplish this task simply. So to summarize:
    1. Does this task *require* a separate piece of software (Document Server) that was not required before?
    2. If Document Server is not required, what are the steps to publish the pdf file and reference the data file?
    Please help, extraordinarily frustrated :-(.

    Ravinder, were you actually able to get your PDF Document (Form) to load with data?  I have not been able to get my .NET page to populate my PDF document - the PDF loads in my Browser but has no data.  If you can post sample code that you were able to get to work, it would be appreciated, or if you notice something wrong with my code below, please let me know.<br /><br />Also, when my PDF document loads in my browser, I am prompted to "Open or Save" my .xdp file and if I click "Open", my PDF Form loads, but the fields are not populated.  How do I stop this prompt from loading?  I don't want the user(s) to be able to see this.<br /><br />My .NET page and XML file are listed below:<br />------------------------- .NET -----------------------------------<br />Imports System.Text<br />Imports System.IO<br /><br />Public Class WebForm1<br />    Inherits System.Web.UI.Page<br /><br />#Region " Web Form Designer Generated Code "<br /><br />    'This call is required by the Web Form Designer.<br />    <System.Diagnostics.DebuggerStepThrough()> Private Sub InitializeComponent()<br /><br />    End Sub<br /><br />    'NOTE: The following placeholder declaration is required by the Web Form Designer.<br />    'Do not delete or move it.<br />    Private designerPlaceholderDeclaration As System.Object<br /><br />    Private Sub Page_Init(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Init<br />        'CODEGEN: This method call is required by the Web Form Designer<br />        'Do not modify it using the code editor.<br />        InitializeComponent()<br />    End Sub<br /><br />#End Region<br /><br />    Private Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load<br />        'Put user code to initialize the page here<br /><br />        Dim responseString As New StringBuilder<br />        Dim sr As StreamReader<br />        Dim xmldata As String<br /><br />        Response.ContentType = "application/vnd.adobe.xdp+xml"<br />        responseString.Append("<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>")<br />        responseString.Append("<?xfa generator='AdobeDesigner_V7.0' APIVersion='2.2.4333.0'?>")<br />        responseString.Append("<xdp:xdp xmlns:xdp='http://ns.adobe.com/xdp/'>")<br />        responseString.Append("<xfa:datasets xmlns:xfa='http://www.xfa.org/schema/xfa-data/1.0/'>")<br />        responseString.Append("<xfa:data xfa:dataNode='dataGroup'>")<br />        sr = File.OpenText("c:\\inetpub\\wwwroot\\PDFFiller\\TestForm_data.xml")<br />        xmldata = sr.ReadToEnd()<br />        sr.Close()<br />        responseString.Append(xmldata)<br /><br />        'responseString.Append("<form1>")<br />        'responseString.Append("<txtFirstName>Homer</txtFirstName>")<br />        'responseString.Append("<txtLastName>Simpson</txtLastName>")<br />        'responseString.Append("</form1>")<br /><br />        responseString.Append("</xfa:data>")<br />        responseString.Append("</xfa:datasets>")<br />        responseString.Append("<pdf href='http://localhost/PDFFiller/TestForm.pdf' xmlns='http://ns.adobe.com/xdp/pdf/' />")<br />        responseString.Append("<xfdf xmlns='http://ns.adobe.com/xfdf/' xml:space='preserve'>")<br />        responseString.Append("<annots/>")<br />        responseString.Append("</xfdf>")<br />        responseString.Append("</xdp:xdp>")<br /><br />        Response.Write(responseString)<br />        Response.Flush()<br />        Response.End()<br /><br />    End Sub<br /><br />End Class<br /><br />----------------------End .NET -----------------------------------<br /><br />--------- XML (TestForm_data.xml) --------------------------------<br /><form1><txtFirstName>Homer</txtFirstName><txtLastName>Simpson</txtLastName></form1><br />----------------------End XML -----------------------------------

  • How to store xml data fragments, that will not be queried?

    Hello,
    Delphi Client application communicates with Java Server application via XML messages. Client sends XML message over HTTP Post method. Java Servlet gets XML message, parses it, performs requested action (select/insert/update/delete), generates resulting response and sends it back to the Client.
    I use Oracle DB XE 10.2.
    For example: Client sends a request to the server, to append certain Order with new Product info:
    Request:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    - <Request OrderID="123123123" Action="NewProduct">

    I use DOM parsers to parse the received requests, extract certain info and insert it into relational tables using standart SQL queries.
    My question is: what is the best way to store XML data fragments, that are not required to be saved relationally? I need to save the content of node <TechProduct> from the above example to relational table's column. There will be no need to query this column, no need to use relational views. I will use it only when Client application will request to modify certain order's product. Then I will have to send back the same <TechProduct> node via XML response.
    So what column type do I have to use? CLOB? XMLType? Is it better to use object types? Do I have to register XML Schema for better performance? The size of the fragment can be ~2MB.
    Thanks for your help

    Thank you for reply,
    As you suggested, I will use XMLType storage as CLOB (without XML Schema).
    As I mentioned before, I use Java Servlet, deployed on Tomcat WebServer, to receive XML messages from Client application via HTTP POST method.
    I use these libs to get the XML payload and parse it into a Document:
    import org.w3c.dom.*;
    import org.xml.sax.InputSource;
    import javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory;
    import javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilder;
    And here is the code:
    public void doPost(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException {
    try {
    // get the XML payload and parse it into a Document
    DocumentBuilderFactory docBuilderFactory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    DocumentBuilder docBuilder = docBuilderFactory.newDocumentBuilder();
    Document dom;
    InputSource input = new InputSource(request.getInputStream());
    dom = docBuilder.parse(input);
    catch(Exception ex) {
    System.out.println("Exception thrown in XmlService");
    ex.printStackTrace();
    throw new ServletException(ex);
    I create a relational table, that contains XMLType column:
    CREATE TABLE xwarehouses (
    warehouse_id NUMBER,
    warehouse_spec XMLTYPE)
    XMLTYPE warehouse_spec STORE AS CLOB;
    Now I want to insert all DOM Document into XMLType column. So I do like this:
    import oracle.xdb.XMLType;
    String SQLTEXT = "INSERT INTO XWAREHOUSES (WAREHOUSE_ID, WAREHOUSE_SPEC) VALUES (?, ?)";
    XMLType xml = XMLType.createXML(con,dom);
    PreparedStatement sqlStatement = con.prepareStatement(SQLTEXT);
    sqlStatement.setInt(1,2);
    sqlStatement.setObject(2,xml);
    sqlStatement.execute();
    sqlStatement.close();
    dom is the Document, that I got from HTTP Request input stream.
    My servlet throws an exception:
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/xml/parser/v2/XMLParseException
    at XmlService.GetMatListServiceHandler.processRequest(GetMatListServiceHandler.java:111)
    at XmlService.XmlServiceHandler.handleRequest(XmlServiceHandler.java:43)
    at XmlService.XmlServiceServlet.doPost(XmlServiceServlet.java:69)
    at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:716)
    at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:809)
    why does he needs oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLParseException? I don't use Oracle parser? Does this code line throws the exception (I am not able to debug my code, because I have not configured JDeveloper to be able to use Remote Debuging):
    XMLType xml = XMLType.createXML(con,dom);
    Does it reparses the given dom Document or what?. When I deploy xmlparserv2.jar to Tomcat, everything is ok, application inserts XML data into XMLType column.
    Is there another way to insert the whole org.w3c.dom Document or Document fragment (that is already parsed) into XMLType column. Can you provide any sample code?
    The Document may contain national symbols, so they should be correctly stored and then later retrieved.
    Many thanks.
