Outbound E-Mail templates in a non-IC_AGENT Business Role

Hi,
Does anybody have experience of using outbound email templates in the CRM 2007 Web UI?  Specifically with a non-IC_AGENT Business Role as the email editor in the Web UI is different to the IC_AGENT Business Role email editor.  I am using a standard Grantor Business Role (CRMGRMPRGMAN) and therefore cannot select mailforms in the "Std Response" field used in the email editor of the IC_AGENT Business Role. 
I have seen that when I create an Activity of type 'Outgoing E-Mail' that there is a "Default Text" field in email editor.  Is this where I would select an email template?  Can you please enlighten me as to how to create the templates and make them available in the email editor of an non-IC_AGENT Business Role?

Hello Onkar,
(a) Email Editor is IC_AGENT has more advanced features compared to Email Create in NON IC_AGENT Business Role. One of the features being the Standard Response Group. Basically, Standard Response Group is grouping of Commonly used Standard Responses and assigning it to the Email Profile.
However, in case of NON IC_AGENT Business Roles, there is no such provision of assocaiting a Email
profile and thus there is no provision to assocaite a standard response group.
(b) With respect to Draft mails, please refer the note 1251719. As mentioned in the note, draft mails are not yet supported in these Roles.

  • Individual Account Creation in IC_AGENT business role.

    Hi,
    After system got upgraded from 6.0 to EHP1, marketing attributes are not working as expected.
    When i create an Individual Account type in ZIC_AGENT business role, it gets created successfully but its marketing attributes are not getting set when i check in the Account overview.
    There is a BADI implementation of "BUPA_GENERAL_UPDATE", i debugged and found that in FM "CRM_MKTBP_READ_KSSK_AUSP", system is trying to get the attributes from table "ausp"
          select * from ausp into table et_ausp
              where partner_guid = lv_guid
              and klart = 'BUP'.
    I think, somewhere configurations are not done correctly. But i am aware where i check all these configurations for markting attributes corresponding to BP. If you know then please let me know.

    search for the specific attribute/attribute set. go to OV page ..there will b check box for person and organization.

    Hi Techies,
                     Is there any preferred software for creating e-mail templates to use with SAP Cloud for Customers ? I mean to avoid unnecessary errors when creating standard e-mail template which are recognized unified manner within the system.
    Will appreciate with rewards points for best support.

    Here is a template for the wire-frame that we used. We went with pure HTML tables so that the response could be multi-client compatible. We found that additional code caused issues with certain clients. In the middle table, we had linked icons to our respective self serve properties and additional support options for Chat and our own Support Community.
    The content of the email will be placed where #Text# is. Our email responses include the content and the basic signature. We also provide our detailed legal disclaimer at the bottom with additional links if needed.

  • Outbound E-Mail when creating a Service Request

    Hi.
    I am trying to set up a scenario where an outbound notification email is sent out when a Service Request is created. I have created the email FORM in WEB UI but was wondering how to trigger the email sending process (I am looking for the best practice).
    A possible option could be to create an action that is triggered when the Service Request is saved but does the standard action work with a "email form" created from WEB UI (as far as I know it works with SMARTFORM) or do i have to code the whole logic myself:
    -Get the template.
    -Convert it to html.
    -Populate data.
    -Build email body and so on and finally send email and attach it to the Service Request.
    I wonder if there is standard functionality for this.
    Any help is highly appreciated.

    If you are on CRM 7.0 sending e-mail when service request is saved is a standard functionality. Use Rule policy with Intent Driven Interaction context.
    1.  Create New policy and add your Business Role at the header.
    2. Add IC Events 'OrderSaved' at the header.
    3. Create Rule as follows:
                                   Condition  -    If Current Event Equals Order was saved
                                   Action      -    Send Out-Going E-Mail Using Mail Form  
                                                         E-Mail Subject 'xxxxx'
                                                         Sender's E-Mail Adress 'email id'
                                                         Mail Form 'ZMailform'
    Note:1. Make sure that your mail form has the attribute service request tracking text is inserted.You can see the service request tracking text attribute when you create the mail form in the Attribute Context 'ERMS
            2. Make sure that your service manager profile has the your IDI policy assigned.
            3. Your CRM 7.0 is on SP04 or above.

    Off the top of my head, you should be able to create mail templates in muse BUT it will require  very basic html/css knowledge on your part. I am assuming you want to do just the signature?
    Create the design you would like on one page, dont do any kind of styling in a master page. Then export the site into a folder. Open the html file with notepad/ textedit and then copy just the code for JUST the template. Throw it in you mail app of choice and it should work.
    This seems like something that would be done alot quicker in dreamweaver in design view.
    PLEASE NOTE: ^i could be completely wrong - but in theory this may work.

    The above mentioned will work only when HTML Mail option is selected on the user account level under Account properties.

    We are in Sourcing 7.0 SP02.
    We have a language pack for languages like German, Spanish installed in our system.
    But the mail messages for the users logging in those languages are still sent in English. Only some content like the footer/header are in local language since they are localized resources and they have language specific content. But the main mail message is in English. To give you an example: The workflow approval request message thats sent to a Spanish user looks like below:
    Subject: Solicitud: Approval: Category Project: 123
    Estimado test,
    This message is to inform you of an approval request for the following: Category Project, 123
    Approval Request: Submitted
    Start Date: 31/01/2012 16:20

    if you notice - the header, footer and some part of the subject is in Spanish - but the remaining content is in English.
    Are mail templates in multiple langguages not delivered when we install the language pack.
    When I copied a standard mail template and checked it - the content was empty for the other languages that we have installed.
    Are we expected to create our own mail content for the other lanuages that are installed in the system?

    you need to reinstall the language packs after the tenant configuration. That should to it.
    Seems to be a bug (feature) in SAP Sourcing.

    I am using NW 7.0 SP14. I am using GP mail notifications to send out mails and I am successful sending context parameter values in the  body of mail template. Is there any way I can change the mail subject line dynamically by passing context parameter to the mail template.

    Unfortunately, using the standard mail templates in GP, it is not possible to add context variables for the mail Subject. These can be only added to the mail content.

    - Is it possible to have these e-mails in the Agent Inbox?

    If it helps, for your second question you can track the outbound emails in SOST transaction.
    I mostly use CRM4 and there we're not able to put the outbound emails in agent inbox only by configuration. In CRM7 I don't know if it is possible.

    Hi Poornima,
    Than you should check if this parameter is mapped. Send e-mail or Notification callable objects has own parameters and you should have such parameter for the callable object "personalData.lastName" which should be mapped to the context parameter of the action. When you define a due date or notification for an action you have a button "map" and also you should edit the Send e-mail or Notification callable objects so that they contains personalData.lastName parameter.

  • Outbound e-mails blocked in Outlook

    I'm using Outlook V14.0.2 for Mac and suddenly outbound messages became blocked again.  Had problem previously more than a month ago when Port 25 was blocked so changed to port 587 and all was well.  Suddenly this problem has reappeared again and with Port set ot 587 outbound e-mails are again blocked.  Does anyone have a similar problem?

       Thanks for your reply but I still cannot get this going.  If I change the outgoing port to 465 and check the secure SSL option, it simply times out and still never sends the message.  So, I tried all combinations -- setting the new port numbers as you have suggested for both incoming and outgoing, turning SSL both on, then off and nothing seems to work for the outbound messages.  I am OK on inbound and even if I reset the incoming port to 995, messages come in on port 110.  So, problem still exists for my outbound messages. 
    Any other suggestions?  I am using a MAC and the version of Outlook is 14.0.2.  All had been working fine so something must have changed on the verizon side.
