Outbound VPN thru wrt54g won't work

Hi all,
I just recently 'upgraded' from an old WRK54G to a WRT54G V8. Ever since, I can't connect to work via VPN. I have a T1 line and if I set a static IP into my computer and plug directly in without the router, it connect to the VPN server at work just fine. This is a PPTP VPN using the built-in XP SP2 client. I can connect to the server from other sites without a problem, so it's definitely a problem with the new router. Everything else works fine with the router: general internet access, port forwarding, etc.
I've searched the net for a couple weeks, but I can't find a solution. I have the latest V8 firmware (just flashed to 8.00.5. The other strange thing is that I got INBOUND VPN to work. Any ideas? Is there some problem with the V8 firmware?

The router that I am having a problem with is on the client end. I have another linksys router on the server end but that is working fine as I can connect from home which doesn't have a linksys router.
I have tried the things you have mentioned aswell as even setting up the computer that is trying to VPN as a DMZ host and I still cannont connect. The server error log show that the GRE messages aren't making it through.
I agree that we are both doing everything right. I am going to try an older version of the same router tomorrow and see if that works. I might have to move away from linksys as they are not acknowledging the problem.

Mavericks Server VPN client connection won't work

I have read many of the problems regarding remote clients not being able to connect to Mavericks Server 3.0 via L2TP outside of the network.
My understanding that Apple has fixed this with 3.02 update.
Since the update, I tried to setup my first time VPN connection and am having similar problems to the noted prior issues.
Mavericks Server has DNS, OD, and VPN setup and running with most current update as of 2/4/14.
My Airport Extreme router is managed via Server App and has VPN ports opened. Have shutoff Back to My Mac and Find my Mac also on the server. I have also put in my hostname miniserver."example".com into the DNS on my Fatcow registrar pointing to my public IP address. "example" obviously being my domain name.
My Mavericks Macbook Pro has been setup with VPN client/shared secret and the public ip address of my router. The Macbook will connect to the VPN inside the network, but will not connect outside of the local network. Have tried setting up my home Mavericks iMac with the same result.
Have read other discussions regarding copying the old racoon vpn from mountain lion server, but understand that shouldn't be necessary as Apple has allegedly fixed the problem. Also do not want to have to redo everytime Apple pushes out a Server update.
First time I have ever setup VPN and seems close, but not quite, to working.

Select the Network tab in AirPort Utility and click Network Options. In the sheet that opens, check the box marked
Allow incoming IPSec authentication
if it's not already checked, and save the change.

WRT54G won't work with my wired PC

Hi Everyone,
I have a WRT54G Wirless Router at my house with a range extender. My wireless machine picks up the signal fine and it can connect to the internet. However, my wired pc will come up saying limited or no connectivity. This just started happening as of late. My IP will not correctly renew and it picks up the DSL IP address but I have no connectivity. I have a Subnet mask and IP but no DNS Server. I checked to make sure my TCP/IP settings were correct. I even tried another Nic card and still I have this problem. Does anyone have any suggestions?

WRT54G v4 won't work in PPPoE mode...
For the past few years, I've had my WRT54G v4 set up to run in PPPoE mode. My Siemens Speedstream 5200 is set to run in Bridge Mode. It's worked fine for a long time. If I ever ran into a problem, I could always simply reset both, re-do all the settings, and it'd be fine.
Today I come home from work, it's not working at all. I reset the settings, redo everything, still not working. I do this a few times. It repeatedly just won't connect to anything. The DSL modem activity lights are flashing, everything is normal, the Status page in my Linksys setup all reads fine (it's connecting through the modem like it should, acquiring an IP address, etc). So, I decide I'm gonna reset the modem and try bypassing the Linksys.
That turns out to work just fine.
So I reset the Linksys, hook my PC back up to the Linksys, and everything is fine. But here's the rub...
If I try to bridge the modem and put the Linksys in PPPoE mode, it simply stops working. If I put it back into DHCP mode and reset the DSL modem, it still won't work. Once it enters PPPoE mode, the Linksys simply stops working as it should. Nothing besides a reset will make it start working.
Any suggestions/explanations as to what would cause this? I'm completely baffled, personally. I'm running the DSL modem in it's normal state and the Linksys in DHCP but I really prefer it the other way. I just can't figure out why it isn't working.
So, to sum up:
1. Connection is fine when going straight through the DSL modem.
2. Connection is fine when routed through the Linksys into the DSL modem with the Linksys in DHCP mode.
3. Once DSL modem is set to Bridge Mode and Linksys to PPPoE, I lose internet connectivity. No DNS, nothing.
4. Even if I change the settings back to DHCP, it still will not work. I must manually reset the router's settings using the reset button, doing the same with the DSL modem.
Any suggestions? I've tried everything I can possibly think of.

You need to Upgrade the Router's firmware in order to get the connection work again with PPPoE...
Download 2.95 MB...Once the Firmware has been downloaded you need to unzip the firmware file, it will unzip 3 files, you need the .bin file...
Open an Internet Explorer browser page.In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1
Leave the username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
Click on the 'Administration' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' sub tab- Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
Wait for few seconds until it shows that "Upgrade is successful" After the firmware upgrade, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned back to the same page OR it will say "Page cannot be displayed".
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

HP psc 1315 won't work thru Airport

My HP psc 1315 All in One won't work thru Airport but will when connected to USB port. Funny that it was working and working intermittently through Airport. Originally it was working through an iBook G4 that is no longer on the network. Then I connected it using the PowerBook G4. Spotty performance caused me to delete the printer in Print Utility and then try to add it back. I did stuff like update drivers, delete and add printer, repair disk permissions, etc. but no use. Can’t establish a printer connection when there at one time was one.

I encountered the same problem with the HP psc 1315ix all in one printer on my dad's iMac. It would work fine when connected but not when going through the airport.
I found the linux drivers at http://www.linux-foundation.org/en/OpenPrinting/MacOSX/hpijs
and installed the foomatic and ghostscript packages also found on this page and it worked. After installing the three software packages, you still have to go through the normal procedure (in Tiger) of using the Printer Setup Utility and select the foo drivers to make it work. It may be different for your machine and OS version. Good luck!

first, head into your Add/Remove programs and uninstall your QuickTime. if it goes, good. if it doesn't, we'll just attend to it when we attend to itunes.
next, download and install the revo uninstaller http://http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html. use it to clear any existing itunes and/or QuickTime installation configuration information from the PC.
next download itunes. it worked for me hope this is helpful!!
oonce you get into the revo uninstallergo thru to delete itunes hit uninstall on the itunes icon then you will go thru to it will tell u the same nmessage about the feature and network hit cancell then go thru and hit scan (make sure bthe advance scan button is pushed) this will take awhile but go thru the list and hit everything associated with itunes. hit delete then install itunes again. it worked for me hope it works for you!

When typing in a google search, nothing happens. I try hitting return or clicking on search and nothing happens. I can however search by going into Advanced Search and retyping my query. I also have to retry repeated now to get an active window when I want to compose an email in aol. The window will pop up and nothing is active. This has been happening for a couple weeks now. I also have found that many times the AOL toolbar won't work...buttons are inactive and I have to quit Firefox and reload several time to access any of Firefox or AOL toolbar buttons.

If you can't get AOL to talk you thru it, then it's time to stop using AOL.
You are paying extra for a useless service. You already pay (and HAVE TO PAY) to the internet company that gives you the internet modem and conneciton to the internet, and they are be giving you 1-5 free email addresses with that account. (call them if you never set them up).
There is no guarantee you don't have a problem with your mail setup on your computer, but this is the right time for you to set up your [email protected] accounts, download all your AOL mail including your address book (FROM AOL'S WEBISTE via Safari) to your hard drive, make sure you are using an external drive with Time Machine and doing daily if not hourly backups, and start sending emails to your friends and family and business from the new mail account(s).
Otherwise you can call someone who saves computers and AOL accounts for a living and pay them $25- $100 hour....

An update on my Iphone got interrupted, now it won't work or connect to my PC...

Hi. I was updating my Iphone 4 and I accidently disconnected it from my PC. I got en error in itunes that sad that it had been disconnected. Now when i turn my Iphone on i get the "connect to itunes" screen. I connect it to my PC but nothing happens. I try to restart my phone and try again but still nothing. I also tried switching USB port and restrating my PC but still won't work, my iphone is still stuck on the "connect to itunes" screen. I even tried to reset my iphone by holding the power and home button for 10sec but it didn't work.
I'm all out of ideas on how i can fix it. Could anyone please help me with this problem?

Create outbound delivery thru Idoc

I am working on a sales return scenario in SAP as below :--
01. Creating Return sales Order in SAP thru inbound Idoc ( ORDERS01)
02. Triggering outbound Idoc ( ORDRSP/ORDERS05) from return sales order to our return plant.
03. Customer will send returned goods to our return plant. Plant will send us an Idoc to create delivery in SAP.
04. Once delivery is created thru Idoc , our batch job will do PGR.
05. Billing batch job will generate credit memo for return.
I am looking for advise on following points :--
01. Can we create outbound delivery thru DESADV Idoc ?We are also planning to update delivery Item text thru this Idoc.
02. SAP standard provides ( SHP_OBDLV_CREATE_SLS) this Idoc to create delivery with reference to Sales Order but not able to update delivery text thru this ?
03.Any other way-out to create delivery and update delivery text thru inbound Idoc?

Navigation won't work on menu buttons

Hi
I created a menu with apple template-light index in DVDSP 2.05 and added (dragged) motion assets (each chapters video clip) to the buttons. I used overlay colors=advanced and mapping type=grayscale for the norma-selected-activated states of the buttons. My problem is the navigation arrows won't work to cycle thru the menu buttons (chapters) when I use simulator. i checked the assignments & everything seems ok..even used autoassign now, no luck. When I created another menu with apple template-light index with no assets dragged to the buttons, the navigation arrows worked fine in simulator. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

Friend's iMessage Won't Work

My friend has been trying to get iMessage to work on his iPod for ages. We even made a new Apple ID today to use but it still won't work. Pretty much, you go to sign in and it finishes that, gets to the stage where you select the email you want to use, and press next. From there it says "verifying" for a bit, but then without an error message or anything it kicks back to the sign in screen. My first thought was that his date was wrong, but it already is at "Set Automatically". I even tried a "Reset all Settings" but it does the same thing. The Apple ID signs in perfectly on all other devices. Please help.

are ya sure he would have to be an administrator... cuz i dont thnk his brother's user account is sent up that way...cuz his brother is younger...but yea i dont think his bro's user account is set up that way and it still worx on his account...but not my friends...i dunno i also clicked on the 2nd link, and read thru it... and i dont thnk it is an instalation problem cuz his brother is able to use itunes....cuz if he had problems, or if nortonvirus was runnin his bro wouldn't be able to use it either right?

F7 and F8 Keyboard shortcuts won't work correctly.

I've just recently installed LR3.6 and it's my first experience with LR. I've been following Lynda.com tutorials and all of a sudden the F7 and F8 function keys won't work.
The F7 just does nothing and the F8 opens iTunes every time I press it. I've tried everthing I know (not being much of a Techie) without success. I installed one upgrade download since I installed the original CD software. Should I just delete the program and re-install the program? I believe the F-keys were woking originally. I'm sorry, but I was going thru the tutorials and not being as observant as I should. All I know for certain is that they do not work now.
I'm using an iMac 27 with the wireless keyboard. OSX 10.6.8.

Linksys WTRG54 won't work with Motorola Surfboard

I just bought this Linksys WRT54G, and it won't connect to my Motorola Surfboard modem. I can connect to the router wirelessly from my Macbook, I just can't get online. I'm sure it's the router's problem because I can't even log in to the modem when I'm connected to the router. I checked all my connections repeatedly, tried updating the firmware, and many many power cycles. Also did a lot of googling and tried other solutions. Are they just not compatible with each other?
One thing is though, the very first time I hooked it up, it was working. Then I power cycled it and it won't work now.

Have you configured the Linksys to clone the MAC address on record with your ISP? Sometimes this is required by the ISP. I use Comcast, a Moto 6120, and a D-Link router, and had to do this.
If this is not relevant, perhaps you can provide the hardware version of your Linksys WRT54G, model of Moto Surfboard, and your ISP and general geographic location, in hopes someone can help.

HP LaserJet Pro C1415fn color MFP - fax won't work

I have a LaserJet Pro CM1415fn color MFP on a Windows 7 64-bit laptop. I've been using the printer for two years now.
At the moment the fax function only works if I use it manually (i.e. if I place a sheet of paper on the scanner, select the "Fax" button on the printer touch pad and dial the number). However, if I want to send a fax via the PC interface, it won't work.
For example, if I open a PDF, click on "Print" and select "HP LaserJet Professional CM 1410 Series Fax", nothing happens -- no window/interface will open. If I select "HP Send Fax" or "HP Fax Setup Wizard" from the program menu, nothing happens.
I've always been sending faxes this way and I just don't know what happened... Can anyone please help?

I see that you can't fax from the PC anymore. I can help you with this.
If this just recently happened, I would do a System Restore back to when everything was working properly.
System Restore for Windows 7.
If you would prefer not to do the System Restore, uninstall and reinstall the printer software. It might become corrupted.
Here are the steps to run the uninstall from the computer or the CD.
To uninstall from program files:
Touch the Windows key and the E key to access the computer window.
Select the C drive.
Select program files or program files x86.
Open the HP and printer name folder.
Select uninstall.
Uninstall the software from the CD:
Touch the Windows key and the E key to access the computer window. Right click on the CD for the printer, left click open in a new window, double click on uninstall.
Disable all the start up programs and temporarily turn off the Antivirus Software. How to use MSCONFIG .
Click on the start up tab and click disable all.
Download, save and install the latest drivers.
HP LaserJet Pro CM1415fnw Color Multifunction Printer Drivers.
Test the printer and try sending a fax again from the PC.
Then you will need to go back in and enable the start up programs and turn the Antivirus Software back on again.
