Outcome changed when clicking on PDF attachments.
This is recent, possibly after updates I am using Adobe Reader 10.0.10, Firefox 35.0.1 on a machine running Windows 7
I no longer get the open/save dialogue box when I click on a pdf attachment, how do I get this back please?
I am having other problems but they may be related to the above so I would like to sort that first if possible.

No,, sorry for the lack of clarity, pdf attachments to emails and other pdfs on the web. I am not sure whether it is a reader problem or a browser problem.
For example, I click on a PDF attachment to an email and the computer immediately attempts to save it to a file, usually opening the last folder I saved a PDF to, no dialogue box to ask me whether I want to open it or save it to a file. Likewise I went to a web site to print an invoice, clicked on the print invoice button and the computer attempted to save the file to the last folder.

Slide size change when clicking on pdf links (Acrobat 9 pro)

Hello,
I have a problem with an interface mock up I have to deliver to a client.
The size of image is changing from a slide to another.
For example, when I click on a home button (this button is a link made in acrobat pro, that send to another page of the pdf document), the slide size changes from full screen to a smaller size with a black border around.
SOrry it's hard to explain, so I put 2 screenshots and hope it will be clear enough >
This happen only if I use clicks on the links.
If I just use the next / previous command (for example if I use keyboard's arrows), the size remain full screen and unchanged for the whole slides.
Can you tell me how to fix this problem?

Something to try.
Using the link tool select the link.
View the link's properties.
Select the Actions tab.
Select the show action then click the Edit button.
Observe what is displayed.
You'll note that you can configure the value for "zoom".

I have a web application. There will be some pdf links in the application. When clicked on these links I read the content from database and output as bytestream. But when end user clicks these files the pdf will open in the browser or in Adobe based on his Adobe setting

Format Changes when Exporting to PDF

I'm using Crystal 12.0 and have an issue very similar to these threads listed below.
While viewing a report on my development machine, all is fine. I can export to PDF and the formatting is OK.
However, when the report is exported to PDF on the web server, the spacing between some of the text is off. The spacing is used for a CrossTab cell in a "Display String" that I changed using "Format Field." All that's supposed to happen here is several spaces are used to move the text under the proper column.
When exporting to PDF on the web, the text moves over to the left like it's missing some of the spaces. I wondering if the below threads apply to Crystal 12.0.

I'm having a very similar problem using Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2008. Everything is perfect when running in VS 2008, it takes the report and exports it to PDF format via VB code. The PDF file is idenitcal to the report. However, when run on the server the one page report (when exported to PDF) gets chopped into ten 4x4 chunks. So the PDF file is 10 pages....its like puzzle pieces of the original.
I've drawn a bunch of lines on the report to look like boxes - perhaps this is causing issues? The font on the report is Arial.
The server has the 10_5 runtime installed and it is set to the same default printer as the development PC. I have been stuck on this for days and would really appreciate any advice you may have.

State not changed when clicking on bound JCheckBox (10g, JClient)

I have a JClient Panel with a JCheckbox bound to an attribute, and Selected / Unselected State Value set in the Boolean Binding Editor.
The checkbox correctly reflects the values in the DB when navigating through the rows. But neither the state of the checkbox nor the attribute values are changed when clicking the checkbox. What am I missing ?

Color changes when exporting to PDF from Apple Pages or Word

When I export to PDF from Apple Pages or Microsoft Word, there is a noticable color shift.
The RGB color values that are 23, 76, 140 in Pages for a medium shade of blue like this but appear as 50, 61, 134 with a decidedly purple cast like this in the PDF.
Has anybody else run into this problem? Any tips for troubleshooting?

Thanks for the reply. It was created using Apple Pages. I tried exporting to PDF in two different ways, both with the same result.
1. Within Apple Pages, one can click File > Export > PDF
2. The other option is to click Print > PDF > Save as PDF
I also tried this second method with Microsoft Word, and again the color was altered. Any suggestions that you can provide to resolve this issue will be very helpful.

Yes, Ajlan, thank you. I solved the issue by opening PDF documents of unwanted fonts with another PDF document reader. When I open my files folder, there is an option (drop down box) at the top that allows for me to choose from either Adobe Reader or PDF Vista. It may have been there all along; I just didn't notice it until I recently had this issue.

What would cause logo colors to change when creating a PDF from an InDesign file?

My graphic designer has a publication laid out in InDesign. When he creates a PDF file of the book to send to the printer, the colors of our logo on the cover change. Dramatically. The really weird thing is that everything still looks normal on his computer, which is off-site. But when he sends the file to me or the printer, it has the wrong colors. We're all at a loss as to why this is happening. Any ideas?
Also, I'm just an editor and my experience with InDesign is pretty much limited to making text changes so I'm not well-versed in the lingo. If you could dumb down any advice you may have, it would be greatly appreciated!

Shawna, there really isn't realistic hope that anyone could troubleshoot the problem from here with the information you've given. If I was answering your graphic designer, I'd be interrogating him/her about the methods employed all along the way from the logo as a stand-alone file to it's placement in InDesign to the InDesign transparency blend space, possible effects or blend modes applied, and the wide range of possibilities surrounding the methods and settings used in the export/conversion to PDF.

Is there a way to modify the file name when clicking the pdf button to be different

I wish to have the default name to something like document type_document #.

Only possible when you export through File--->Export--->PDF. If you directly click PDF icon, system will store with default format.

Why does JButton background color change when clicking ?

I have defined :
JButton mybutton = new JButton(Icon xxx) ;
with no associated text and I set both foreground and background colors to black, and an empty border.
This is because the background color of the container which contents this button is also black and I want to see only the button icon.
When I click on the icon , the button background color becomes grey. How can I change this to make it remains black ?

Well, the color changes because that is how the look and feel is defined,
presumably to give better feedback to the user that she has clicked the
button.
If you don't want this, you could try using a different L&F which doesn't do this.
Alternatively, If you've only got the one button, you could just do
    UIManager.put( "Button.select", Color.BLACK );If you have multiple buttons, and you want the other buttons to behave
normally, you can extend the one button and have it change the color
while it is pressed, e.g.,

JButton - avoid color change when clicked

probably this is a simply question, but i didn't find the answer.
I have some JButtons in my window. When they are clicked, they change
their background color for a momement (normal behavior). This is what I

i haven't got the soources at the moment, but check it out from there... it's probably defined in some L&F class, like ButtonUI or something... you'd probably need to create custom *UI class.
if you extend BasicButtonUI and override protected void paintButtonPressed(), then you may have it do as little as you please.
easyest way would probably be copying original one, and then have it paint background with original background color, or not to fill it at all..

When clicking on PDF link new windows opens then closes

Okay I have IE 7.0 and Reader 9.0. I am running a Breeze file and within the file there are links to PDF's, so the problem is when I click on the link the PDF seems to open in a new web tab but then suddenly disappears. I have co-workers with the same configuration and it works for them but then for others its the same error. Anyone have any idea as to what is going on? What is the soluton? 2. There is a section at the top that says 'Open links that open in a new window in:' and then a drop-down menu
3. In the drop-down menu, select the 'Current Tab' Option
4. Click 'OK'

But when i login through Adminstrator i'am able attch a file in creating a task.Please Guide us with a solution in this issue.
