Outgoing audio problems during skype to skype vide...

When I make Skype to Skype video calls, my callee tells me that my voice is unintelligible. One person described it sounded like I was on a helicopter, another callee said that I sounded like I was underwater. My voice was also repeating. When I turned off my camera, the problem ceased. I really want to be able to use my video camera while I am talking. Can anyone help?

Thanks a million.  I just updated to IOS 7, then while on skype i could hear people but they would not hear me.  your uggestion fixed my problem!  i just went to setting, privacy, skype and set it on and there we were!

  • Audio Problem During Skype Screenshare?

Hello there. I have a bit of a complex setup that I'm trying to get to work. But I'm unfortunately having issues. When asking tech guys, they point me to software (Skype in this case). So I joined here and I'm hoping someone can help me in my situation. Here is a diagram of it:  Basically, my goal is to have a dual-live commentary with a guest. We tested many screen-sharing software, and we determined that Skype was the best for one-on-one streaming. But in choosing that, there is still one problem for us to overcome, and that is that the game audio (the navy blue line) never reaches my guest. Some oddities I should mention, even though I'm not sure if they are relevant. When I choose to not use the headphones, the game audio and her voice both come out of the HD TV, AND she is now able to hear the game audio. I suspect however, this isn't actually solving the problem but is just because she can also now hear the game with my voice both through the mic. Same thing happens when I also unplug the TV and use a regular speaker. This is very much not ideal. I'd like to be able to use the headphones for better quality since I'm recording. But, for whatever reason it seems I'm not able to do my setup and simultaneously send her video. Could someone please explain how I might be able to do this? I understand that the solution may not be a strictly Skype, but with a complex setup like this, I've gotten a lot of people pointing fingers elsewhere, without actual solutions. Is it a Skype setting? Do I need some type of splitter? Do I need software? Do I need hardware? For informational purposes, this is on Windows 7, both computers, using the free version of Skype's screensharing. Thank you for your time.

  • Outgoing Audio Problems

I have an intell iMac 2.4 GHz, with 4 GB ram. About six months ago I started to have outgoing audio problems. It's an old computer but works pretty well. Well, except for this. It doesn't matter if I use FaceTime, Google Hangout, Skype (video or just audio), the is static and screetchy noises on the receiving end. I can't hear it on my end. There is no problem with incomming audio, either through voice or video chat, or other steaming services. Can anyone help me out. What do you think this is? A simple mic problem?

Had the same problem, no audio on incoming or outgoing calls and only could hear the conversation of the call if I put on speaker. It seemed to start after I did a recent IOS update this past month. I tried restart, reset and restore of my iPhone but nothing changed. It appears not to be a software issue but a hardware problem. I got my phone this past summer so it was still under warranty and got it replaced.

  • Weird audio problem during calls

I have a weird audio problem and was wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem or could help...
My wife and I both have iPhone 5's and sometimes (not all the time) when she calls me (or I call her), it connects, but no matter which audio input I choose (phone, bluetooth, speaker, headphones), I cannot hear her, but she can hear me... I hang up, call back (and when I call, there is no dialing sound, nor any other phone sounds) and it's the same thing. Sometimes restarting the phone works, other times I have to restart it 3-4 times before it'll work again.  I try different things during these calls, like turning on/off bluetooth and/or wifi (pretty much anything I can think of that would make a difference), but nothing seems to help.
The (other) weird part is that after the last time of this happening, I tried calling my iPhone with my office phone and it worked fine, so then I immediately call my wife back with my iPhone and it was doing the same thing again. I called her back using my office phone and could talk to her fine...
This problem has been going on for a few months now and I have tried restoring the phone a couple times (and I am on the latest iOS) and sadly, that hasn't done anything to help... Does anyone have any ideas what is going on? I'd make an appointment for the problem, but since it doesn't do it all the time, I don't know what good it would do... But it is getting very frustrating!
    Thanks for any help!
    -Jason

Thanks for the response!  It happened again yesterday...  It seems to be happening more frequently in the past few weeks now.
I checked the link and have tried all of the things listed at one point or another over the past few months.  I did just check my Carrier settings and it said it had updated (it's on 14.1), but I am not sure when that happened (could have been today, could have been after my last restore last week, not sure).  I'll keep my fingers crossed that maybe that fixed it...
If it continues to act up, would you recommend that I bring the phone in to an Apple store or an AT&T store?  I bought the phone through Apple, but my carrier is AT&T (and if you suspect that the problem may be with the cellular conection), maybe the AT&T store would be the better choice?
I really wish the problem would be more consistant or go away, cause trying to get the problem solved is driving me crazy!

  • USB headset drops audio input during Skype call

I just bought a new iMac. When I initiate a Skype call using the H650e, almost immediately after the call connects the H650e loses audio input. I speak into the mic but the person I'm speaking with can't hear me. When I open the audio preference pane, I see that the H650e is selected as the input device, but the levels are not registering when I speak.
This problem is reproducible; it happens every time I use the microphone with Skype on the iMac. However, it does not happen when I use it with Skype on my Macbook Air.
That suggests the problem might be with the iMac, but Apple is claiming they can't help because it's a non-Apple product. Logitech claims they can't help since the headset works with the Macbook Air. And Skype claims the same.
    What now?

    fyi ....
i ran a quick repair permissions with disk utility and the problem seems to have sorted itself out. on further thought i think this started to happen after i downloaded the latest s/w update from apple - i recall a whole bundle of fixes to various powerpc issues...maybe something here upset the balance.

  • Audio problems with skype

    Hello,
I have a new G570, less than a month old. Everything was running perfectly before. Recently, however, some issue has come up when I'm using skype: the microphone doesn't work. I can hear the other side, but from my side the audio doesn't go through. I've tried both the internal mic and an external one... neither works.
I've also tried the sound recorder to make sure the microphone works, and it does work. It's just when skype is opened, the mic refuses to take in any sound. I've opened the list of devices thing where it shows which mics are installed. Usually when I say something, the bars are raised, indicating sound. But when a skype call is on, it refuses to take in sound.
    Any solutions?
    Thank you.

  • G580 audio problem with skype

Hi - no one can hear me on skype, the G580's built-in mike is so bad. I see from forum discussions that we have to use a splitter cable -- headphone+mic to 3.5 -- and then plug the headph & mic leads into that cable. But can we just get a headph-mic that leads directly into 3.5, and so avoid the splitter? e.g. this one:http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Kraken-Over-Music-Headset/dp/B009SJR278/ I don't want to buy anything that isn't going to work!

Thank you for your quick response! When I tried plugging a microphone into the G580's USB port, I could not hear the other side. Can you confirm this will not happen when I use the 3.5 port? Someone wrote here - https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-T400-T500-and-newer-T/Audio-combo-jack-vs-headphone-earphone-with-mic-and-speaker/ta-p/240186 - that "When powering up the splitter cable must be disconnected. After powering up the notebook I plug in the splitter cable first, then the headset and finally the external microphone into the splitter cable.Using this three step sequence is the only way having the external microphone recognized by the notebook. After hours of searching on the web, without result, I discovered this by trial and error.Turning on the notebook with the mic in place will result in not having recognized the external microphone." I'm guessing there's no visible splitter cable with the Razer Kraken. Does this mean there's no way to plug in the audio last, with that headset?

  • Editing photos, black out and photos gone. Took screenshots during skype vid calling, photos arent found in PHOTOS app. Help?

One time I edited photos from my Camera Roll taken from our trip. About 6 of em i think. Then it crashed, gave me a black screen so i had to restart my phone. The next morning when i check my PHOTOS, the 6 photos were gone!! Now, while I was on Skype video chat, I took maybe 10 screenshots and of course you're able to hear the shutter every time. But when I check my PHOTOS, they are not there! I feel really bad because the photos i took were very important to me. I am so worried that this will happen again if i go on trip or capture a precious moment and find out that i got nothing. Please help me. I do reboot my phone for those who'll ask me so. Any advice or suggestions will be appreciated big time! Thank you

your phone shouldn't be crashing. Just like a computer, if that starts happening its time to reload the software. Follow this to do a restore on the device: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414

  • Problem with Skype and Wireless Networks

I have been having a problem with Airport for about 10 months. Long winded explanation follows.
Initially file transfers over wireless networks were extremely slow but this seems to have been that 10.5.2 update problem. There is a remaining issue when I use Skype on my Mac (details below) connected to a wireless network the incoming and outgoing audio drop out for 1 - 3 seconds at irregular but frequent intervals (approx every 5 - 10 seconds). This is regardless of the wireless network I am on - and that is dozens of them all over the world. Note it is voice only calls, not video. Apple has replaced the Airport card and the mother board; the OS has been reinstalled; test accounts set up but nothing fixes the problem.
At one point I had temporary relief by switching off 'Configure IPv6' in System Preferences/Network/Airport/TCP/IP. This worked for a month or so but now the problem is back as before.
All other aspects of wireless activity are fine. Wireless firmware is 1.4.4.
I have worn out my welcome with the usually sensational help desk. Any suggestions out there in Mac Land?

    Hi there

After discussion with tech support they said the Airpot card had to be replaced. This was done with admirable expediency and I got the MBP back in 36 hours. On testing it the same problem was still there. Identical pattern on the ping test, the fault was not the hardware.
Once more a call to Apple and another tech. This time we booted from the OS 10.5 install disk and ran the ping test. I ran it for a few hours without seeing the fault, it worked fine. The problem had to be in the operating system.
After backing up all the data I zeroed the drive and did a clean install of the OS. Bingo! Problem gone.
So after 10 months, two airport cards and a mother board, the issue was in fact something corrupt deep in the OS.
So to anyone having similar problems with Airport, run a ping test as described above. If you see that kind of pattern, try a clean install before going down the hardware road.
