Outgoing calls to other Viatalk users go straight to their voicemail

I recently joined Viatalk and for the most part successfully configured the Linksys SPA2102-R adapter I got from Sunrocket. Now I don't have problem calling or receiving calls from friends that are NOT Viatalk users. My 2 friends who are also Viatalk users can call me but my calls to them go directly into their Viatalk voice mail. If I ask them to disable their voice mail, then I get a busy signal. I don't know if it's my setting or theirs that's causing the problem. Could anyone please help? Thanks! BTW, both my friends' adapters are Linksys PAP2.

Thank you so much for answering. You're right - I believe the problem is in my friends' adapters. Today we did another experiment: I called a 3rd friend who's also a Viatalk customer and got his adapter directly from Viatalk (also a PAP2). We can call in/out each other without problem. The PAP2 of Friend #1 and #2 were configured by the same guy so could have the same problem setting. I gave your suggestion to Friend #1 and #2. Here's their reply There are 5 items about Cfwd as listed in following. They all have two options: Yes or no, and the "Yes"s are selected. Cfwd All Serv: Yes Cfwd Busy Serv: Yes Cfwd No Ans Serv:Yes Cfwd Sel Serv:Yes Cfwd Last Serv: Yes Not sure what the "vm" means. virtual machine? If you can clarify "VM" so they can have another quick try, please do so. Otherwise, I have asked Friend #3 to capture screen shots of his PAP2 settings and share with #1 and #2. I'll post our results later. Thanks again for taking the time to answer!

  • Iphone 5 won't send/receive texts/calls from other iphone users

So I recently upgraded my android phone to an iphone 5 on saturday and when I got it, I was able to make calls and receive texts from other iphone users. And now my texts aren't sending to other iphone users/calls and I won't receive them. My friends with iphones called my phone and my phone didn't receive their call. Also when i send texts it says "not delivered". I know it's just iphone users since my family members have androids.
I've tried resetting my phone and taking out the sim.

Try totally shutting all of your apps, double click the home button then hold your finger on an app until you see the red minus sign then tap that on all your app, then restart your iPhone, then give it a try.  If you are still having problems you will need to check with your service provider to make sure your account is provisioned correctly.

  • ARE FACETIME CALLS FROM JAMAICA TO UK USING MY IPHONE 5s TO OTHER IPHONE USERS FREE?

    MY
I am going on holiday to Jamaica so my question is it possible that I can do any FACETIME calls to other iPhone users (my family) from Jamaica to the UK free as long as I am on WIFI OR 3G?

Are you referring to a voicecall with Facetime? If so, yes it would be the same as a video call. Free via wi-fi and with cellular, it would be against your data allowance, and what ckuan mentioned, you would also be roaming.
If you are asking about a regular cellular voice call, then that would be up to your carrier. That would be roaming as well.

  • Lync to Lync calls not working when users outside of network. But calls from Lync to external numbers do work.

    Hello,
We are having the following issue: when our lync users are outside of our network, just connected to their home internet or a public WiFi  and not on VPN, they cannot place calls to other
Lync users inside our network. They get a poor network connection message on the call window. But they are able to make calls from Lync to external numbers without a problem.
Inside our network, Lync to Lync calls work perfectly fine, the same for calls from Lync to external numbers.
Does anybody know what could be the cause of our issue? Perhaps I'm missing a setting on our Edge server. What should be the first thing I should check on my Lync servers?
    Thanks for any help!

Have you opened up ports on your firewall from your internal clients to the edge on UDP/3478 and TCP/443?  This sounds like you might have a problem there.  Can you internal clients properly route to this subnet and resolve the pool name of your
    edge pool?

  • Outgoing call tones

    Outgoing Call Tones
my new Asha 302 does not make any tones for outgoing calls, such as ringing or connecting.  Is theirs normal?
    Jterry

Well, we don't know until he returns (if ever) and clarifies that. If its that beep beep, then he also wouldn't have heard anything from whom he called. So that made me think for the other useless tones. If he upgraded from a Cheap Sammy or other Chinese phones to a Nokia, he'll be missing the tonnes - ***Beep*** Call Forwarding activated, ***Beep*** Call Answered

  • Since the recent update my email account has been affected. I have over 2,000 emails now reflecting on my phone. Is this a glitch that is being worked on? I have heard the same issue from several other iPhone users.

Since the recent update to the iPhone I have over 2000 emails showing up in my inbox. I have tried to delete the emails which are new emails that are coming in but also there are now old emails that have reappeared. I have discussed this with several other iPhone users that have updated their phones and they are experiencing the same issue. How has this happened and can it be resolved in the simplest way possible?

  • Jabber cannot do voice calls to PSTN or to other jabber user

    Hi,
I'm trying to troubleshoot why jabber for windows 9.7.2 is not able to establish calls to PSTN dialed by DN and to other jabber user called by URI, not DN.
We have CUCM 10 with IM and Presence 10. IM and Presence is newly installed. I have created 2 x Cisco Unified Client Services Framework devices for 2 users. Users are able to connect through jabber for windows, IM, do direct DN-to-DN calls (including video), but not able to call outside to PSTN and by URI to other users.
    Cases:
    - jabber for windows - call DN to DN between internal users - working with video
    - jabber for windows - call DN to PSTN through SIP-to-SIP connection (SIP trunk to GW, SIP trunk from GW to ISP) - not working CUCM returning me Q.850 cause 65 to jabber immediately when other side pick up phone, even jabber hear ringing with music from ISP side. - Cause: 65(0x41)[Bearer capability not implemented]
    - jabber for windows - in search field I search for second user, I can see presence, when I click call button, call is immediately dropped - don't know reason still not troubleshooted.
communication between GW 2801 and ISP is OK, they are acknowledge codec and everything is fine.
EDIT: I tried to connect jabber for windows directly to CUCM TFTP servers without IM and Presense server. I have same behavior, when outgoing call is picked up it is immediately dropped by CUCM and send Q.850 cause 65 to jabber.
EDIT2: any other SIP device configured same way as jabber CSF is working. just jabber not.
EDIT3: when I selected "Media Termination Point required" on jabber device in CUCM, then voice is working normally. But if possible I do not want this and make voice without MTP. How?
    THanks

I found it, i have enabled "Allow Presentation Sharing using BFCP" on SIP profile assigned to trunk pointing to voice gateway. This causes that SDP from gateway didn't come.

  • Separate Recents into incoming and outgoing calls like all other phones!

please allow me to view only incoming or only outgoing calls
    add a filter
    create separate lists
    whatever it takes
    no more apologists please
this is a simple, reasonable change
    won't break current users
    will please many

  • Outgoing server works for one user not for other

    Hi,
I just made a second user in Leopard. When logged in as the original user, the outgoing mail server works fine in Mail. When logged in as the new user, the outgoing mail server shows as 'offline' in Mail. In both cases the outgoing server is the same one.
As the new user i can only receive mail and not send any. I am pretty sure the account settings on both mail accounts r identical(Authentication, SSL etc.) (except for user specific identification of course)
Any advice/idea on what is wrong and what i can do to make the outgoing server work for both users?
    Thx,
    Brick

Yes I am certain the authentication is correct. When trying to send a message out Mail gives a message saying my "SMTP server does not support authentication".
When i open Mail preferences. The outgoing server is indicated as Offline.

  • I just bought this iPhone 4S second hand and during incoming and outgoing calls I can't hear the other person talk unless it's on speaker or if I have headphones in. I don't know what to do I've turned up my volume and checked my settings!! Need help

I Just bought a second hand iPhone 4S I am having issues with the hearing during incoming and outgoing calls, I have turned the volume up and checked my settings but I still have trouble hearing the other person speak. It works if it's on speaker or if I have headphones plugged in. I need help desperately!!!!! Any suggestions on what to do???

    Hey Itsanaasaunders,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing issues hearing sound while on a call (receiver wise, not speakerphone). The following resource provides troubleshooting steps for this symptom:
If you can't hear a person on a call or voicemail or if the sound quality is poor on iPhone - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203800
    Clear the receiver
The iPhone receiver won't work properly if it's blocked or dirty. Here's where the receiver is:
Follow these steps, testing after each:
    - Make sure nothing is blocking the receiver, such as a case or film.
If you have a new iPhone, remove the plastic film on the front and back of the device.
    - Check the receiver opening to see if it's blocked or dirty. If necessary, clean the receiver opening with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush.
    - While you're on a call, turn on speakerphone. If you still can't hear, then your network or reception could be the issue. Try calling again later or from a different location.
    Restart and update
    1. Restart your iPhone and test again.
    2. If there's still no sound or poor sound quality, update to the latest version of iOS.

If you've tried these steps and there's still no sound or poor sound quality from your iPhone, contact Apple Support.
    Thanks,

  • IPod updates 2 touch with the new software, and from the update they are not connected with Time phase. They appear calling but never they enter the calls. I make calls with other users and if one connects but in these two not from the update

I use Firefox 95% of the time, and there's no problem with flash content (and I'm still at .55 - downloaded .64 last week but I haven't got round to making the change yet). At the rate they've been changing it recently it may well be out of date already .
I've been trying it in Safari, too with no problems apart from You Tube, but that's because I'm blocking Google cookies.
One thought does occur - if your Flash preferences are set to block all Local Storage, it may be that the problem site is trying to use Flash cookies (LSOs). I had this problem recently with the BBC iPlayer streaming content. Little Snitch notified an attempt to connect to a new URL - emp.bbci.co.uk.
If I disallowed it, no streaming; when I allowed the connection, it still wouldn't stream, so I did a bit of digging and came to the conclusion that it was trying to set a Flash cookie. When I unblocked, lo and behold - streaming resumed as normal.
I now have LSOs blocked in a more subtle way that lets the site think it's being set (but it ain't) and the streaming still works.
As for permissions repair - always repair from local; the permissions on the original disc will have been superceded by updates and new installations of Apple software.
DU needs to be reading the packages on the HD, not the (now out of date) install disc.
The recurring repair messages are normal and don't mean anything's wrong. As long as the final message is 'repair complete' there's no need to dwell on it.

A brief and probably non-helpful answer: I know of no way to eliminate your large amount of duplicates other than by repetitive, tedious manual effort.

I hope you're right, but I don't think there is a simpler way.

Is there a way for this community, to make a suggestion to Apple to include blocking a specific contact number calls and messages just as other phones provide that feature for their users.

No phone provides true call blocking. At best, they provide call diversion. Essentially, the call is answered and disconnected automatically. If I recall, Apple is adding call diversion features in iOS 7.
    Best of luck.
