Outgoing email bug when you have two accounts each with an SMTP.

I have two email accounts on iPhone and each has a different outgoing SMTP server associated it the account. One is SBC the other is my domain ISP. (Sometimes I like to send out of SBC but when it gets slow I can sent out of my domain.)
Here is the thing. Each account has a "from" email address THE SAME (i.e. [email protected]).
Now get this No matter which account I send out of, the mail ALWAYS go through the SMPT server of the FIRST account in the account list. HOWEVER, if I change one of the "from" email addresses to something different than the other (ie. [email protected]) the mail will go out of the correct SMTP server.
What is THAT all about? It looks like iPhone is looking to use the return address as a factor in determining what SMTP to use. It SHOULD use the SMTP of the account mail is SENT from... but it doesn't... if the return addresses are the same.

You will need to contact iTunes Store  support and you will lose access to any purchased content from that account. You may wish to consider just asking to disable the account or how to better manage multiple accounts.

    To better understand your issue, for example If you have two reminders and select 'View Event Details' on the 1st reminder,  does the 2st reminder popup before the Details of the1st reminder displays?

    I sync two iPhones and an iPad with one iTunes library on the same computer and each device has different content. Each device has its own sync preferences with iTunes. You can transfer the same music and apps to each device or different music and apps.
    Are you sharing the same Apple ID or iTunes account?

    For me? the advantage of an ipad over a laptop....instant on, instant off, thin and portable. Check your e-mail and put it down, not wait 5 minutes to boot, check your mail, shut it down.
    Is it as fully functional as a laptop? no. Not meant to be. What it lacks in functionality it makes up for in portability.
    Is a necessity? no. But quite handy.

    Just a simple question, I was just wondering how to create user account on the local machine when you run two instances of oracle.For example all the commands I use to start and stop the database use the variables stored in the oracle user bash_profile.
    But do I have to create another user to manage the other instance because it should use another bash_profile with a different oracle_sid?

    Linux and Unix installations of Oracle are kind-a funny. At the end of te installation is a request to run 'root.sh'. That does a few things: set up permissions and ownerships correctly; copy some scripts into the specified directory (default /usr/local/bin).
    If you were to look at /usr/local/bin, you would notice a few files, typically with names "dbhome.sh, oraenv.sh, oraenv.csh". These are designed to set up the PATH, the ORACLE_HOME and the ORACLE_SID correctly, based on user response and information in the oratab file - which is /etc/oratab in Linux. (I always ensure there to link oraenv.sh as oraenv)
    Longer story shortened:
    Assume you use(d) dbca to create the instances. Then you can source the oraenv.sh to set up the environment:

    [pop2]? orcl
    pop2@fuzzy:~> env | grep -i ora
    ORACLE_SID=orcl

    You can tell oraenv to shut up by setting ORAENV_ASK to 'NO' and setting the ORACLE_SID variable before sourcing oraenv. This is useful in .profile - for example my /etc/profile contains the followig:

    I'm starting to get the folder with the question mark and I've tried everything but reinstalling Mavericks. I don't want to reinstall because I really need my data. Is there any safe way for me to save my data before I fix the problem on my mac? Would firewire work? I don't have the cable but I don't want to go and buy one right now without knowing if it will work. I'm not all that knowledgeable on computer terms either. If anyone can help I'd REALLY appreciate it.

    What model of Mac is it?
    Do you have a backup of the Mac or any of the files on it?
    Do you have access to another Mac & a disk large enough to copy the data from the failing Mac?
    Using 'Target disk mode' with Firewire or Thunderbolt may work to read data however you need another Mac to access the failed Mac and a cable to connect between them. Obviously the connection types depend on the Mac model(s). You need Firewire or Thunderbolt on each Mac.

    How did you get into this situation? Did the Mac just start doing it or have you run some cleanup software or done something else recently?
    The flashing question mark means it cannot find a valid startup disk.
    1. Try holding alt at startup & see if a list of disks appears. Select the main boot disk if it appears, otherwise hold the power button to shut down if nothing appears - report what happens here.
    2. Boot into recovery & see if the main disk shows up & can be verified/ repaired.
    Boot holding cmd+R. Recovery mode should startup (assuming you have a recovery partition).
    Select Disk Utility in the list of options
    In Disk Utility select the 'boot disk' this is usually the item above 'Macintosh HD' (or whatever your boot disk is called).
    Select the 'First Aid' tab
    Repair any disk damage that is reported via 'verify'. Then select The 'Macintosh HD' & repair the permissions too.
    3. It may be possible to run third party repair or recovery tools, do you have Disk Warrior, Tech Tool Pro or any other Mac apps for this?
    4. Report back here with info about what other Macs you can access etc
    5. It may be possible to reinstall 10.9 without loosing your data, the default 'reinstall OS X' option will try to replace the OS files & leave all your user data intact. If the disk is still functioning & has a valid partition this could make it bootable. HOWEVER if the disk is damaged beyond repair it will need to erase the disk - DELETING all your data. Personally I would take a backup before doing this, even if it meant waiting to use a friends Mac (or a trip to the Applestore).

    This is a (known) Java problem. If you are on Windows use Alt-Tab to switch to the prompt window (it will most probably show up in the Alt-Tab select window with the Java icon)

    I found out that I can download things from App Store on the iPad from a different ID that is used to sync with PC. But it would have been nice to just have one ID for all, plain and simple. Merging of acoounts should be possible, this would make shopping much less complicated for users who have to use several IDs.

  • With Maverick does Spotlight index keep indexing even when you have not done anything with your computer?

    I have had lion and in lion the spotlight did not index all of the time like it does now.  It seems like it index's every hour.  I have gone through the forums and have deleted and rebuilt the index but it always seems to index and take 20min to do so about every hour, even if I have not download anything.  Is this a new thing in Maverick or is it something I should worry or do something I have not already done.  I have like I said deleted and rebuilt it.  I also put my hard drive in and out of private.  I have just done a clean install of Maverick and just wondering if this is part of maverick, never did this in lion.  It seems to interrupt my TM Backup and yes I have put my external TM hard drive in the private section.

    You can force quit Spotlight indexing.
    Open Activity Monitor located in Applications > Utilities
    Select the CPU tab.
    Type mdworker in the search field top right corner of the window.
    Select mdworker then click the force quit button top left side of the window.
