Outgoing emails-- font (not just "display")

Other than changing the font display via the Screen/Keyboard option, is there a way to change the actual text's font on outgoing email messages?

hello,
when you send the email, you send to the Blackberry servers an email in simple text (no formatting at all). Then the servers add some formatting (Arial about 10px in navy blue). You can't modify that.

You used the term right click on it to download instead of right click on it to save the attached file outside of the message which are very different things.
RTF with Tiger Mail is HTML or I should say can be HTML but certain things must occur in order for HTML to be implemented with a sent message.
Regardless the message font and size chosen at Mail > Preferences > Fonts & Colors, you must select a font and size via the font panel when composing a message or use bold, italics, underline for selected text or changing text color, etc. If you are using a signature that was composed with RTF or HML with a different font, size and/or color than is used in the message body or contains an image or logo, etc. Forwarding a message that was composed in HTML and the same when replying to a received message that was composed in HTML if you have "Use the same message format as the original message" selected for composing preferences at Mail > Preferences > Composing.
Any or all or a combination of any of these will send a message as HTML.
Depending on the Outlook and Windows version used by a recipient, Outlook has had some problems with Mail's RTF. There is no email client that is completely bug free and Outlook has plenty of bugs for such an old/mature email client and MS also makes the arrogant assumption that the majority of people that exchange email are using Outlook or OE and should be if not.
So long story short, using Plain Text for message composition can and does make a difference.

How to get Yahoo Mail to allow pictures/graphics to appear within a received email and not just as an attachment?

When I receive emails that contain graphics and pictures within the body of the email they will be displayed only as attachments that have to be 'downloaded' and opened separately. I contacted Yahoo Mail and they said that it must be caused by my browser(Firefox). I have now difficulty with the graphic when I use Explorer. What setting, if any, do I have to change in Firefox to correct this?

Your signature says you have the latest operating system, Mavericks (10.9) but you've asked your question in the forum for Snow Leopard (10.6) which is a much older and somewhat different system. You are much more likely to get an answer in the forum applicable to your system, so I've asked the Hosts to move your question there (it may be a few hours before this happens). Pictures embedded in an email are not being displayed, hotmail and yahoo under FireFox of problem. Embedded pictures do appear with Explorer 10.

Clear the cache and the cookies from websites that cause problems.

Outgoing emails are not being sent from my email address all of a sudden. It started happening when I changed my gmail password

After I changed my gmail password my outgoing emails are no longer being sent from my gmail account, but are being sent from my spouse's account so that replies go into her inbox, not mine.

You may have a corrupt preference, in order to correct this open Mail - Preferences - Accounts and re-input all the preferences for the account. While they may look ok one or more may be corrupt.

E7 outgoing email will not work

Hi All,
I have been using my company email on my E7 quite happily until Vodafone (who my account is with) switched off their mail server. Since then I can receive emails but just can't send any.
I was told to use the smtp settings for hotmail for my out going emails which didn't work. Since then I have tried using windows live, blueyonder, virgin, orange, yahoo, ovi and none of them will work. My email's just sit in the out box until I delete them.
Does anyone know of any outgoing email settings I can use to get my email working again?

You'll need to use whatever SMTP server the email provider specifies. Some of the companies you list have special "rules". I believe Hotmail uses a proprietary, web-based interface for sending and retrieving mail, and Yahoo provides POP3 and SMTP access only to paying customers. So you might save these providers for last. A few suggestions:
1) Don't trust the Nokia Email wizard. Outgoing email for my provider (Earthlink) doesn't work by default because the wizard supplies the wrong SMTP server. Visit the provider's web site and verify the server name yourself.
2) Also verify that authentication (username and password) is enabled for SMTP. Check the details with the provider.
3) If all else fails, discuss the problem with the provider's tech support team. If you still can't make it work, go back to Vodaphone. There's a slight chance they could be blocking SMTP access from your phone.
4) If you're using Nokia Messaging, their real-time email "push" service, that could complicate things...but I doubt it. My T-Mobile E73 has never supported Messaging, so it's an unknown.

For Host Controller Service error- This seems to be a search error, are you sure you are referring correct error from log ?. For this error you can try -
- Please try to restart "Search Host Controller Service" from central Admin site -services
- Restart Timer service at server
- Replace node.ini from working server to your server - as explained here -

Outgoing email font size goes from huge to tiny, can't fix it, help!

Can anybody help? People keep telling me my emails have this huge font size that gradually decreases until it's so tiny they can barely read it by the end of the email. On my end, I can't see it, everything looks normal, when I view the sent emails, they are still normal. I have tried to fix it in the Options, but I can't! It doesn't matter what I set that to, everybody keeps telling me it is still horrible, huge to tiny, and I can't even see it because on my end, it looks normal. I wrote to Yahoo and they tell me it isn't something they can do anything about so I thought I'd try this. I'm not very computer savvy. I have a Toshiba laptop and have Windows 7 home version. Any ideas out there?? Thanks! :-)

I'm having trouble picturing how others would see it but not you. One possibility is that you've set a minimum font size and therefore you aren't noticing that your email site is doing something weird to your messages. You can turn off your minimum font size temporarily for testing here:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Content
In the "Fonts & Colors" section, click the Advanced... button. There you can change your Minimum font size to None. While you're there, do you have the box checked to "Allow pages to choose their own fonts"? That is necessary to get an idea of how Yahoo is displaying the messages. If you OK out, do you notice any difference?
As for what might be causing it, is the problem text all newly typed, or is forwarding and copying/pasting a possible factor?

i recently changed my mail setting per my Verizon Email Provide. I can receive mail in but can not send out mail from AppleMail.
my icon just keep spinning on the outgoing mail

You may have a corrupt email preference. Open Mail - Preferences - Accounts (choose your Verizon account) and re-input all the settings and retest. If this does not work refer to:

Font NOT working - displays as zeros

I have a font, Crackhouse, that I have had installed for years.
Suddenly it is not working.
Font Book shows that it is installed, but when I type with it in Photoshop or Illustrator, it displays as zeros.
I have:
deleted the font and reinstalled
disabled other fonts (thinking I had too many)
restarted

Follow the steps in Undoing Font Book. Note that you will lose any font collections you have created. Doing this will also clear the font cache files for your user account. Since Font Book's database is reset, all fonts will be active, regardless of their state beforehand.
Be sure to follow the instructions for the version of OS X you are using.

Email font not printing properly

I have two Imacs, one using 10.5.8 the other using 10.7.4. I use Entourage on both of them. When I get an email from an Ipad or some other Macs though the font displays properly on screen Lucinda Grande I think from both my macs it prints and Courier. Should the font be Lucinda Grande as this front prints Ok from other applications and is a belive a system font. Or could it be another font that I have turned off in suitcase so that It displays but defaults to courier when printed? would be grateful for any help

Outgoing Email server not working for iPhoto

All I want to be able to do is send myself hi-res images from iPhoto. It's telling me "The email server didn’t recognize your username/password combination." I have tried every combination under the sun.
At one point it prompted me for an outgoing server and I put in the one from my phone...that was probably the wrong thing to do...but I cannot seem to change it, despite several attempts at setting up all my different email addresses and deleting and trying again.

Would you please confirm what email you are trying to use with iPhoto, you still have not.
Is it an iCloud account or from some other provider?
it would prompt me to set up an iCloud account, which I believe I already have.
To find out if you actually have an iCloud account go to www.icloud.com and try to login.

Outgoing email server not available

I got an email from aol (verified) that a large number of their email accounts have been compromised. They suggested that I change my password and my security question. I did so, and I also changed my aol password on my iPhone 4. I tried to send an email from my iPhone and got a message that it coulld not be sent beacause I do not have a connection to my outgoing mail server. I tried to change the password on the server, but the password was greyed out. I guess I'll have to delete the aol account and add it back in. My question is, will I lose my "notes" "calendar" and my "contact list"? or will the iPhone software retain them?
I would be most grateful for a response.

If your notes, calendar and contact list are on the AOL mail server, you will get them back when you add back your email account.
To check that they are go to your mail on the server and check.

How do i print email header, not just the body?

I just got an HP Photosmart 5110 and am setting up eprint on a laptop with Windows 7 64-bit. The eprint function is working fine, but it prints only the text of the email, not the full email including header. How can I get it to print the header (i.e. "From, Sent, To, Subject"). Thanks.

Appreciate the reply from fertileground and would ask that HP add an option for including header info with the content of a message.
As a practical matter the source and time of a message received overngiht or on weekend or anytime of day is needed to file or even act on an item. Fairly basic info.
Let me know the best means to submit this request to the HP eprint managers and I'll do so.

Editing email fonts not working from top menu

When editing an email, if I click the A to open font options I can only use a selected an item once. For instance, I can highlight text and Bold it but cannot unbold it. I can underline but cannot reverse-underline. In order to do this I have to Control-Click and uncheck it from the menu.

I have been waiting for a response on this issue since yesterday. I work in a consulting agency, and it is prudent that my mail app work correctly on my macbook pro! I get at most, 1 notification per day if I'm lucky. I can't keep opening the app to make sure I have mail! Someone help us! (Not to sound desperate)
