Outgoing mail font size???

I want to change the size, color and font of my outgoing mail. Is there a way to do this and make it as a default?

East - Mail - Preferences - Fonts N Colors - choose away.. you can also put an image on your emails in addition to signatures..L

  • AOL Mail Font Size

When I use AOL mail in Firefox, the font size switches between 10, 11, and 12 without my changing anything. Does anybody know how to fix this problem? It works fine in other browsers. Also, is there a way in Firefox to make copied and pasted URLs automatically format as hyperlinks?

Do you mean the font size changes as you are typing a message, reply, or forward?
A user reported this problem on a different mail site, that sometimes after pressing Enter, the next paragraph would use a larger font size. I don't think we discovered the reason for that at the time, but the workaround was to use Shift+Enter to create a line break instead of pressing Enter. (This adds a line break into the current paragraph instead of starting a new paragraph.)
Regarding hyperlinks, some mail sites detect and "linkify" them automatically, either in real time or if you save the message as a draft or when you send them. If AOL's site does not have that feature for Firefox users, then unfortunately you will need to use a button to insert the URL as a clickable link. I don't use AOL, but the way this works on other sites is that there is an icon which typically looks like 2 links of a chain, you click that, paste the URL, then click Insert or OK to insert the link into the message.

  • IOS "Mail" font size keeps varying...

How do I get Mail on the iPhone/iPad to always display the same font size? Sometimes the font is too small to be readable and I have to pinch outwards to increase it. It gets annoying after several instances...
    Thanks!

Go to "Settings" and after that click at "Mail, Contacts, Calender". Than there is a list where you can decide how big do you want the font.

  • Apple Mail font size too small for father

My father just purchased a iMac with Mountain Lion OS and a 27 inch screen.
My father needs to be able to read the text of the AppleMail window.
We have increased the size of the fonts to 18 to make it easy for him to see what he is typing in the email editing window, however, none of the other display fonts in AppleMail increase.
The increase in font size is intended by Apple to provide an Accomodation to provide Equal Access for those with Sight Disabilities to the Essential Functions of use, however, this intent appears to have failed within AppleMail.
Would a different mail reader (gmail, etc) provide this font sizing ability?
    Requested Remedy:
Provide the ability to increase font size for all of the AppleMail display.

'Preferences' doesn't solve the problem, since it only alters the font size of text for a single message, and doesn't alter the Mailbox Pane or Message Panes.
The Mailbox Pane is enlarged outside Mail, using the System Preference's 'General' setting for Sidebar Icon size - this also alters sidebar text size.
And the Message List is enlarged most easily by a Terminal command
    - it's only a single line, cut'n'paste:
defaults write com.apple.mail RichMessageList -bool FALSE
Then restart Mail and adjust its column sizes for the newly enlarged fonts.

  • Mail , font size mystery

Good day, my normal font size is 18. Yet, when attaching pics or a grab via Preview the font size for my attached message goes down to 12 automatically. How do I get it to stay at 18? Thanks, Duncan

Are you talking about the font size for received messages?
If so, this is caused by the sender using HTML for message composition.
Copied from Why HTML in E-Mail is a Bad Idea.
Because it introduces accessibility problems. When you write in plain text, the receiving mail client renders the text in whatever font the reader chooses. When you format email with HTML, the sender controls the formatting. But this is a trap: You only think your message will render the same way to the viewer as it appears to the sender. In reality, the receiver can end up squinting because the font looks so tiny, or vice versa. HTML is not rendered the same way from one viewing client to the next - all guarantee of accessiblity goes out the window. This is especially problematic for visually impaired persons.
With such a message open, at the menu bar go to View > Message and select Plain Text Alternative and all text will be converted to your chosen Message Font and size selected at Mail > Preferences > Fonts & Colors.
There is also a Terminal command available that automatically converts message text composed in HTML to Plain Text for all received messages.
Sorry if you are referring to something else.

  • Mail font size

the toolbar icon in mail that is labeled smaller/bigger for font size is grayed out-i.e. does not work unless you are replying to an email. you cannot use it when you either create an email or forward one. why doesn't apply correct this most basic feature that is on most other email software-eudora had it 10-15 yrs ago!
by the way-has steve jobs ever thought of buying the rights to eudora-it is still the best email program around, even though it ended several yrs ago?

    Greetings,
You don't need to use those buttons to change the font size for new mail, or even received mail. Just open Mail's Preferences > Fonts & Colors section and you can set the font and font size for all messages, and plain text email.

  • Permanently change mail font size?

How do I permanently change the font size for mail? I know how to increase it for individual items, but that is cumbersome. Is there a way to change the default font size for the lists of incoming messages and the screen section below that where the message automatically appears when you click on an individual message in the list? Thank you for your help.

Thanks very much. I was mistakenly going to System Preferences. That solves the problem.

  • Windows 7 Firefox 5.0 Yahoo Mail font sizes

When I change the font size in Yahoo Mail "compose message" the font size on screen always appears as my default 10 point, and I cannot see what I am actually composing. I forwarded a test email to a second Yahoo account of mine and hey presto, the different size fonts were displayed.
I then forwarded the test email back to my first Yahoo account and the various fonts sizes were displayed. On trying to forward that email on my "forwarded message" reverted to displaying 10 point on my screen.
I seem to have accidentally sent emails with HUGE text in them as I cannot see what I am actually writing and the font size sometimes changes unnoticed. Any suggestions?

Try the Firefox SafeMode. <br />
    ''A troubleshooting mode, which disables most Add-ons.'' <br />
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default Theme.)''
    # You can open the Firefox 4/5/6/7 SafeMode by holding the '''Shft''' key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    # Or use the Help menu item, click on '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' while Firefox is running. <br />
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut (without the Shft key) to open it again.''
If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. <br />

  • Outgoing email font size goes from huge to tiny, can't fix it, help!

Can anybody help? People keep telling me my emails have this huge font size that gradually decreases until it's so tiny they can barely read it by the end of the email. On my end, I can't see it, everything looks normal, when I view the sent emails, they are still normal. I have tried to fix it in the Options, but I can't! It doesn't matter what I set that to, everybody keeps telling me it is still horrible, huge to tiny, and I can't even see it because on my end, it looks normal. I wrote to Yahoo and they tell me it isn't something they can do anything about so I thought I'd try this. I'm not very computer savvy. I have a Toshiba laptop and have Windows 7 home version. Any ideas out there?? Thanks! :-)

I'm having trouble picturing how others would see it but not you. One possibility is that you've set a minimum font size and therefore you aren't noticing that your email site is doing something weird to your messages. You can turn off your minimum font size temporarily for testing here:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Content
In the "Fonts & Colors" section, click the Advanced... button. There you can change your Minimum font size to None. While you're there, do you have the box checked to "Allow pages to choose their own fonts"? That is necessary to get an idea of how Yahoo is displaying the messages. If you OK out, do you notice any difference?
As for what might be causing it, is the problem text all newly typed, or is forwarding and copying/pasting a possible factor?
If you have a few non-confidential messages you want to share with me, I'll send you a private forum message with my email address.

  • Mail font too small

How do I change the size of the outgoing mail font for reading purposes?

It should change the size of the font in your message pane when you're composing. In the body of the email right click on a word for a context menu and choose "Show Fonts". Does it work that way?
The recipient should receive your message in whatever size and font they have set in their preferences.

  • TS3682 How can we get IOS7 to increase the font size of the keyboard in Messaging?

  • Font size can't be changed

    Hi.
    Mail.app (3.5)
While changing the mail font sizes in Preferences, I screwed up by entering a huge number by accident. The font is ginormous and I cannot reset it back to normal as the 'select' screen is out of sight in the format window.
All emails now have this huge font and reading emails uses it to. However I can select a new font in create mode.
I hope this doesn't sound too confusing but I have tried everything to recover the status quo and failed,
    Any advice would be welcome.
    TIA
    Ritch S

    Hi Ritch
Oooh, that's a nice one. I reproduced it
    Quit Mail.app
    Go to /Users/yourhomefolder/Library/Preferences
Copy com.apple.mail.plist to your desktop as a backup.
Open com.apple.mail.plist in Preferences folder with a text editor of your choice (drag and drop it on the icon in the dock).
    Search for
    <key>NSFontSize</key>
    <string>77</string>
Instead of 77 (you'll see the number you entered by accident) enter something like 12 or 14.
    Save the file.
    Start Mail.app
If that didn't help, it could also be one of the following keys in the preference file:
    <key>NSFont</key>
    <key>FontSize</key>
Hope this helps. If you mess around with preference files for the first time, make sure you can take some time!
