Outgoing mail server settings for tiscali email

I have a Nokia 5230 operating over the UK Vodafone network.
I can receive emails on Nokia Email Messaging to my tiscali.co.uk email address but cannot send them.
Please does anyone know what the outgoing mail server setting should be?  Presumably this should be a Nokia or Vodafone server rather than a tiscali one.
Thanks

@JohnMayhew
Have you tried using your Vodafone 360 login to use the 360 outgoing server?
-SMTP server:smtp.360.com
-Username and Password are the same as for the 360 account
-Requires SSL
-Uses port 465

  • Cannot find outgoing mail server (smtp) for my email account.

I am trying to set up my college email account and cannot find the smtp sever. I contacted IT at my school and they said they had no idea what I was talking about... I know that it uses microsoft outlook.. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I could find the server. (I did however find the mailgate and entered my username and password)

    johnnyg713,
It sounds like your school might be utilizing an Exchange server. You may want to ask if it is possible to access the server via IMAP, and if so what to use for incoming and outgoing server settings.

  • Outgoing mail server settings

How do I "un-gray" outgoing mail server settings?
I have a feeling this is why i have never been able to send email? Not sure tho. Any suggestions? I use aol for server.

well the frustrating thing is that it used to work but I recently had to change the password on my email and now I cannot get it working again.  Multiple android updates have obviously made it easier to use except for those of us using outgoing mail server port 2525.  I was hoping someone from verizon or someone with knowledge of android could help me.  Yes I can use a different outgoing mail server but then replies come in to a different account.

how do I find my outgoing mail server info for gmail account setup?

Most current Mac systems have a preloaded set of information and settings for the common email providers.  Try just choosing gmail and enter your userid and password at the prompts and see if the preload configures correctly for you.

  • Outgoing mail server settings disappeared

I have several email accounts and all the outgoing mail server settings disappeared. How do i restore the outgoing mail server settings using time machine. Thank you.

    Quit the application.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder.  Select Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Accounts.plist

  • Changing Mail Server Settings for Other IMAP

    Hello,
I'm an Admin for a treatment center and one of our psychiatrists has a BB Tour. He asked me the other day if I could set up his email account on our exchange server for him on his phone. Going through the mail setup wizard I selected "Other" account and set it up for IMAP and then it asked me for his email address and password. It took the domain name and then assumed the mail server names were as such. Now in a perfect world, this wouldnt be an issue. I recently took over for a complete moron and this guy has our MX records pointing to a 3rd party company where all of our outside emails go and then the Outlook clients are set up to pop this box in addition to the Exchange setup (I know its totally lame). What Ive done for everyone else is just setup a IMAP account using the server IP address and mail works fine for them. I cannot for the life of me find where I can actually edit the mail server names for the IMAP account I create on his BB Tour. Is this a limitation the phone? Or am I not looking in the right place. Thanks!

Yup -- refer back to my first reply where I said to use the carrier BIS website...while I didn't say it quite so clearly, I did not say to use the on-device email setup wizards.
The device interface to BIS (aka email setup wizards) and the carrier website interface to BIS have subtle differences. For what you need to do, you need to use the carrier website from a PC/browser. Here is the link:
    https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html?brand=vzw
If you have not yet created BIS credentials, you will need to. I find it easier to first create those on the device interface and then use them in the web interface. Afterwards, you will have to use the credentials in the device interface, but there is a "remember me" box so you will only have to enter them once.
Personally, I rarely use the device interface...a full keyboard, mouse, and monitor are so much simpler for doing things than a tiny BB screen/keyboard. But that's just me.
    Good luck!

  • Mail Server Settings for Email Clients

There must be something wrong with my iCloud account but I can't figure out what it could be:
I can't add my iCloud account to third party clients (Postbox, Airmail & MailPilot) I get error messages.
I succesfully added my cousin's iCloud account in those apps, on my own iMac in all 3 apps, no problem at all, yet It doesn't work with my account even though I'm using the exact same settings in both cases!
    I'm using the following settings
    IMAP Server: imap.mail.me.com
    IMAP Port: 993
IMAP Connection Type: TLS / SSL
    IMAP Authentication: Auto Detect
    SMTP Server: smtp.mail.me.com
    SMTP Port: 587
    SMTP Connection Type: Start TLS
    SMTP Authentication: Auto Detect
    I did peruse this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4864 and tried many changes, no can do! I also tried to replace ' imap.mail.me.com ' and ' smtp.mail.me.com ' with ' p07-imap.mail.me.com ' and ' p07-smtp.mail.me.com ' (I found ' p07 ' in Mail.app settings). I also tried p04, p99... Nothing seems to work.
But then again those 3 mail clients work instantly with anyone else's iClound account, on my very iMac! (which sports OS X 10.9.2)
Other than that, no problem using my iCloud account on MAS, iTunes Store, iTunes, iOS. iCloud.com...

    They're Apples instructions, not mine.
What (if any) error messages do you get, and have you checked what is happening with Connection Doctor?

  • Mail server settings for second XServe

Okay, I have the following problem in configuring mail service:
One XServe we use is exclusively for our company, sites and mails. It uses our main domain for handling mails (SA: Mail service / Settings / General: domain name is "domain.com", host name is "domain.com").
The domain has this MX record: "domain.com. IN MX 10 domain.com."
The other XServe is intended for some of our clients. However... it has not a real domain assigned. Only the DNS server alias points to this server (dns2.domain.com, our first XServe is the primary DNS).
So what do I type in at "domain name" and "host name" ? I guess it has to be filled - I would use "domain.com" as domain name and "dns2.domain.com" as host name.
But... can users also use their own domain name as mail server when configuring their mail clients (of course, their domain would get a matching MX record in its DNS configuration) ? In this case I would use dns2.domain.com since it does not play a role.
Can I proceed this way or is an other proceeding more recommended ?
Do I need to add a MX record to our domain.com DNS config like "dns2 IN MX 10 domain.com." - not sure if this works overall ? Note that we don't want to send or receive mails by dns2.domain.com, it would just be that there is a value at SA mail service configuration.

Confessed, I don't know anymore even it was just a few days ago... anyway, I can explain it, maybe it helps you:
My problem was that I have two XServes - one with my company's domains and the other with domains and websites of my clients.
On SA, mail service, tab "Settings", "General" you need to specify a domain name and a host name for the SMTP service.
So far so good. On my first XServe (with my own domains), I simpy used "starenterprise.com" for both fields. Not really correct, but it works fine
However for my second XServe I had no free domain that I could add there (and I refused to register one "just" for this purpose).
So I finally decided to create a subdomain in my main domain's DNS records (in fact, since I run my own primary/secondary name servers, I simply used the alias for the second nameserver that resides on the second XServe).
Therefore on the second XServe I used "dns2.starenterprise.com" for both, the domain and hostname. Again, not really correct, but it works.
Since I have now some clients moved, I can state that anything works correctly.
Originally I feared a bit that due to the "strange" domain/hosts the mail users could be punished by spam filtering software, but this was not the case.
I hope I was of assistance. Let me know if anything is unclear

  • Outgoing mail server works for one account only

This may be a coincidence but I just updated to 10.5.2 today and now my outgoing mail on one of my accounts will not send. I shared a SMTP with another one of my accounts thru SBC. I can send when using my SBC account email as sent but cannot use it on my non SBC account now. Any ideas? I tried switching to the 2nd account it should be set to but still cannot send.
I even removed and started over with the email account but still cannot send.

    Hi Chris,
I am having the exact same problem. Were you ever able to solve yours?

  • HT1277 outgoing mail server settings

Having troubles sending mails. I have 3 emails configured on my mac mail, but everytime I send a mail it goes through only one email account. No matter whichever account I send it from, it goes from only a single account. How can I resolve the issue? I am using mac os x lion 10.7.5

Ensure that each account is using the correct SMTP server, it sounds as though all yours are using the same one.

  • AT&T outgoing mail server settings are gone

How do you recreate the setting for this server.  I've tried the add server setting, and the phone (3GS) hangs up when verifying the settings.
    Any suggestions.

Try adding the AT&T email account as a yahoo account by going to
Settings>Mail/Contacts/Calendars>Add Account>Yahoo - Enter in your Name, Email Address, Password- tap next.
    Tap Save/Done

  • TS3899 outgoing mail server changes spontaneously

My outgoing mail server settings for my domain email (Imap compliant) have spontaneously changed a couple of times now, and it seems to be related to when I update my iPhone software.  Has anyone else experienced this?
    Thanks!

    Who is your e-mail provider?
It depends on your e-mail provider, check their website for outgoing port.
    Try 587.

  • Ipowerweb and outgoing mail server issues

getting my POP account on my iPhone to send mail successfully has proven to be difficult.
why is it that on my old Nokia E61 my incoming and outgoing mail server settings "mail.mydomain.net" worked regardless of whether i was on edge or wifi -- yet on my iPhone the only way i can send email is to turn wifi off, and input "cwmx.com" as my outgoing mail server and send sloooowly over edge?
i guess my question is, what is different about the way the iPhone connects to different servers, if my old phone did not have any issues with it at all - and how can i remedy this? shouldnt it be as simple as sycing the settings from my POP account on my G5? what am i missing here...and is this specific to ipowerweb hosting?
    thanks

    aegez,
As a point of clarification, if you are going to use Port 25 on EDGE you have to use cwmx.com. Many networks filter port 25 traffic because of port 25 traffic has been abused by people sending unsolicited bulk email (aka spam). AT&T's EDGE network is not the only network to filter port 25.
The iPhone in some situations will try other common ports, many of which will require authentication.
If you are using an outgoing mail server that requires authentication on a port besides port 25 it should work on both WiFi and EDGE in most situations. The exception would be on networks that filter traffic on all ports as a security major, such as some work environments.

  • IPhone 2.0 Outgoing Mail Server changes

It appears that the outgoing mail server settings in 2.0 are trying to alleviate the problems of switching between your ISP and AT&T (i.e. WIFI to Edge/3G) so that our non compatible email accounts will work in both environments for outgoing mail. Has anyone seen a thread or Apple article that addresses this area of the new software as I would like to understand it better? Seems that my attempts to set up multiple outgoing servers has caused my mail program to get stuck in sending emails. Thanks!

The only way I was able to get my iPhone to check for mail automatically and actually download it was to delete the accounts and re-enter them. After they were re-entered, Mail worked automatically on my ISP mail account as it did before I updated, Push works on my .MAc account, and all my old messages appeared as well (i.e., deleting the accounts did not remove the messages I had stored).
