Outgoing mail settings
Hi, I am new to SharePoint. I configured 'outbound SMTP' server, 'from adress' & 'replay-to address' in mail settings correctly.
Able to get mail's also. My problem is I configured with '[email protected]' in the mail settings, but getting mail's from log in user mail id.
I have to get mails from configured mail, how to fix this issue?
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
From your description, my understanding is that your SharePoint 2010 environment sends mail
via with the current login user’s mail but not the From address
being setin
the outgoing E-mail settings.
I try to reproduce this issue by creating an alert and using “send mail” action in SharePoint Designer workflow, both sent out the mail with the
From addressbeing set in the outgoing E-mail settings.
Could you provide more detailed information about “getting mail's from log in user mail id”?
How do you send this mail in your environment?
Besides, you could refer to this article about configuring outgoing e-mail(it works for SharePoint Server 2010 though it is for SharePoint Foundation 2010):

Outgoing Mail Settings Not Showing
Hello,
I recently purchased an iPhone 4s, and had a little trouble sending e-mail from it (Hotmail). I had the settings good to go, and was able to send/receive e-mail from my Hotmail account, but then last night I got the Delivery Failure notification when I tried to send an e-mail. No problem, I'll just check the outgoing mail settings to make sure everything is set correctly, but they're not there?? I go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>My Hotmail Account>Account, and it doesnt show the Outgoing or Incoming Mail settings. It only has my e-mail, password, description, and below that the S/MIME on/off setting. I cant find anything on where the settings went. Am I going crazy or does anyone know what's going on?Update: I called in to Apple Support and they advised me to set up another e-mail account on the phone. I did this (gmail) and everything is fine. It appears to be an issue with Hotmail and iOS playing well together. I've seen this around the internet as well, but haven't come across a case where the Outgoing mail settings just disappeared.

i have added my company e-mail add into my MacBook , i recive e-mails but i cant send e-mails , anyone knows why ? i have tried all options in outgoing mail settings but it wont work !!
Hello,
The receiving email ports are:
IMAP is port 143
IMAP-SSL is port 993
POP is port 110
POP-SSL is port 995
Outgoing ports are...
SMTP and SMTP-SSL is on ports 25, 587 and 465. Port 587 has to be SSL, and port 465 is enforced TLS-wrapped and is generally used by Outlook users. -
HT201342 outgoing mail settings
What is the outgoing mail settigns supposed to be for this account? Verizon has us changing things and all of a sudden I can't send off this account.
If this is a Verizon account you should ask them for its settings. Or Google for it.

Earthlink Outgoing Mail Settings
No combination of my previous outgoing Earthlink settings will allow me to send email from iPhone after 1.1.1 update. Anyone else having problems using Earthlink after the update?
Unfortunately I have the same thing today as the IPHONE updated to 1.1.1 and failed. It went into a recovery mode and would not shut down. After an hour on the phone with apple where they wanted me to send in the phone, we got it to work by UNINSTALLING the Apple Software Update and Apple Mobile Device Manager in the the Software section of my CONTROL PANEL of Windows XP, along with Itunes and Quick Time
Phone came back on line with a new download of Itunes, but ALSA, I cannot SEND emails from the Iphone, only RECEIVE emails
I hope this BUGGY update is not a sign of things to come at APPLE, which may not understand WINDOWS as well as they thought they did -
.mac outgoing mail settings
hello,
I am on vacation now. When I am home I use my local ISP for outgoing mail. It does not work where I am now. I am getting my mail but not receiving it. Is there a way I can set up .mac mail to be used as my outgoing mail server. I do have a .mac account. How would I set it up so my emails will go out?Sending from any other accounts would likely require an Authenticated SMTP. If yours used at home is authenticated (indicated by your Username appended to the name of the server) then you may be able to send with it by presenting it on Port 587, also or on Port 465 if it uses SSL. However, if the SMTP you use at home is authenticated by the IP address of the modem, as many provided by cable broadband are, or by means other than Password authentication, then you will likely be prevented from using it at your current venue. The smtp.mac.com can only be used to send when the sending address is from the .mac domain.

Outgoing mail settings in Outlook
I've managed to restore my ability to receive mail in Outlook (XP using Windows 8) but still cannot send mail
current setting for send is SMTP port 25 and mail.btinternet.comI use these settings without problem:
Email settings:
POP3
Server incoming and out going: mail.btinternet.com
Incoming mail server:
Email user name: (prefix of email address without @btinternet.com)
Password: Your BT email password.
Log on using clear text authentication
Out Going Server in requires Authentication (Use same as incoming mail server)
Outgoing Port : 465 SSL security
Incoming Port : 995 SSL security
IMAP
Same as above except for Incoming Port: 993 SSL security -

Question: Why am I getting a message " recipient rejected by server" when trying to send email om my IPad 1 when outgoing mail settings that worked have not been change?
Hopefully SOLVED - I had same problem on my iphone. Maybe these couple hidden settings are not quite same on your Ipad?
On the iphone i went Settings>Mail, contacts calanders>choose relevant account (if you have more than 1)> accountname>accountname> scroll down to 'Outgoing Mail server' and click on SMTP >click on your Primary Server >
My Username and Password were showing 'Optional'. Filled them in with the correct details (email account login) and that fixed problem. -
Outgoing server settings entered correctly but will not update and tries to send under old settings
I can receive all of my emails correctly but can not send any emails. I have set up under a different program and it works fine. I have tried to update thunderbird by its settings and it does not provide any options?? I am running ubuntu 14.04lts.
My outgoing mail settings are correct but when thunderbird tries to send it uses old settings and does not update to the new mail server.

E7-00 can't change e-mail settings
I'm running sw 022.014 anna with the first service pack from sw updater.
I wanted to check my email account settings to make sure that they're valid since my emails are not going through. This is what I get:
I go to the E-mail-Settings-My Inbox-Account settings.
I get settings for mail address, pw, mailbox name, signature info, name, read status and limits.
Where can I check for SMTP server settings like server name, port and ancryption?@minumant
Admittedly this is upon N8 a similar device but as you don't mention Incoming and Outgoing Mail Settings perhaps it is different upon your E7:

TS4002 Correct outgoing Server settings?
I have my @me.com email coming into my Apple Mail client. It's been working fine for a long time. Suddenly, I can't send email. I think something happened to the outgoing mail settings. What should the correct settings be for iCloud mail on my Macbook? FYI, I'm running OSX 10.7.4
The correct settings are:
Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
SSL Required: Yes
Port: 587
SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
Password: Your iCloud password
You will find you can't change these. If you check them and find they don't match the above, sign out in System Preferences>iCloud and then sign back in, enabling Mail and any other data types in the checklist there. This should set Mail up properly.
If your server settings match the above then there may be a temporary problem with the server.
