Outgoing Skype calls won't connect

Skype has been working fine on my Macbook Pro for months but all of a sudden when i try to call somebody it just says connectin and then call dropped, this is only a problem with outgoing calls as it allows me to receive and answer incoming calls. does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

I saw a "1" on my skype logo, so I thought I had a message. I clicked on, taking me to my page and didn't know how to retrieve a message if that's what "1" meant. So I typed that person a message on the space below, and when I sent it, it said I needed Skype Credit to send it. So I attempted to cancel it or clear it.  I then attempted to call the person and now it disconnects and says I need to have Skype Credit for the call.  I had no trouble before calling my friend until NOW. How do I correct this back to where I could call my friend for free. I am not a big computer user so please, make it simple. Thank You

  • Skype to Skype calls won't connect, to phones will

I developed a problem with Skype sometime last week. I can connect Skype to phone lines using credits with no problem. I cannot, however, connect Skype to Skype calls. I can send a contact request, see when it is accepted, and exchange sms messages with the contact. However when I attempt to call the contact, or when they attempt to call me, the call hangs up on "connecting" and the other party never sees it coming in to be answered. Later, however, the missed call will appear in the call history. This does not happen with every attempted skype to skype call, but most of them. Skype and Windows 8 updates were run recently before the problem started happening. The other contacts have various versions of Windows including 10, 8 and lower (and unknown.) All Skype calls to landline or mobile numbers are completing as normal. Have tried disabling all firewalls, making sure skype is on the allowed list with firewalls, uninstalling and reinstalling, checking every possible setting we can think of. I'm stumped, my company's helpdesk is stumped, really need to find a fix for this.

I am having problems connecting with Skype on 3 out of 4 devices.  This just started happening today, Monday August 3, 2015.  Is anyone else experiencing the same issues?Error Messages on Device 1You are entering a wrong user ID or password.  This is erroneous as I am able to log in through the browser, and on 1 other device using the same password.Error Messages on Device 2Unable to connect to this user on Skype because the User is using an outdated version of Skype.  I don't think this is a valid error message, as it has worked fine up until today.Error Message on Device 3 Unable to connect.  Skype is either too busy with too many users trying to log in at the same time, or we are updating our servers. We are using a mobile device or Windows 7 on our devices.  Does this have anything to do with Windows 10 release? Please advise. We are missing out meeting

  • Skype calls just say connecting... and don't ring

Me and my fried have been trying to talk for over an hour. It says connecting for both of us.  Yes we disabled the firewallYes we updated to the newest versionYes we restarted Skype and the Computers Is it impossible to get help??

I finally found a solution as to why this was happening for me.  Now I don't know if this will work for everyone else or why this even started randomly happening 2 updates ago when I hadn't even changed any of my router settings in months but anyways yeah.... So funny enough I stumbled across this while looking up why I wasn't able to connect to FFIV servers, I would get a connection error and my game client would crash.  I found out that this was a common problem for Comcast (Xfinity) users.  What I did was in my firewall settings was check "Block IDENT (port 113)" and "Block ICMP" under "Custom Security".  Now that fixed my problem with the game, but it made me think that maybe this had something to do with my Skype problem, and low and behold, everything was working 100% fine again.   Now I am not 100% positive on this, but I believe it was the "Block IDENT (port 113)" portion that enabled my Skype to be able to make normal calls again, but I guess anyone who knows more about networking might be able to correct me here, but after looking into this a bit I did find some threads about relation of Skype and IDENT (port 113 usually), so it leads me to believe that if you have a router like mine, or can figure out how to change the settings in your router, it may fix this issue.  Just for reference I have an Arris TG862g Xfinity router.  Attached are screenshots of my routers interface and the options I have checked that worked for me.  I don't suggest copying this completely and leaving it, but play around with your settings to see if this works while still having your correct firewall settings in place. This is what worked for me and I hope that some form of this is the solution for everyone else.

  • Calls Won't Connect

Hi, I am new to Blackberry. Actually I'm new to the smartphone period. I use AT&T. Anyways, I got my first Blackberry today. I bought it off of ebay. It is refurbished. The phone itself works perfectly, but when I try to call somebody it will say Call Failed or it will connect to them for a few seconds but then it will drop. I don't understand, I tried to talking to AT&T customer service but honestly they didn't seem gung-ho about helping, seeing as how I got it off ebay, they're convinced there's something wrong with the phone. I really hope it's not, because I LOVE the phone, but I'm lost! Any ideas?

    Try this:
when device is ON remove the battery, wait a minute and turn the battery back to the device.

  • My iPhone 4 won't connect to our WiFi at home, but will at other WiFi spots.  However, my parent's iPhones work and connect just fine at home using WiFi.  I have called and talked to several people and no one seems to be able to help me.

my iPhone 4 won't connect to our WiFi at home, but will at other WiFi spots.  However, my parent's iPhones work and connect just fine at home using WiFi.  I have called and talked to several people and no one seems to be able to help me.

The two things to try first are renewing your network lease, forgetting the network and if that doesn't work to reset all networks. You might have tried one of these but I'll repeat the steps just to make sure.
Settings > Wi-Fi > tap the blue arrow to the right of your network name > Renew Lease
    If that doesn't work then
Settings > Wi-Fi > tap the blue arrow to the right of your network name > Forget this Network
    If that doesn't work
Settings > General > Networks > Reset All Networks > then reset your iPhone by
Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart.
I hope one of these will help.

  • TS4185 FaceTime on my iPad stopped working, won't connect calls.

FaceTime on my iPad has been working fine for 2 years. Now, when we call or someone calls us, it says connecting…. and nothing happens. WiFi, camera, recent updates are all on and working. Messaging works fine. Just won't connect a call. Any suggestions?

Judging by all the posts on the forum, there seems to be an issue at Apple's end, although they have made no announcement on their status page. Some users have reported that Apple is aware of the issue. Sadly, we have to wait for Apple to provide some sort of update/fix. You can leave feedback for Apple at the link below.

  • Skype call to mobile is connected to mobile's voic...

When I call my wife's AT&T Nokia 6350 from my Windows 7 PC, the call is connected to her voice mailbox instead of her phone's voice mail.  A call to my exact same model cell phone is connected to my phone's voice mail correctly.  The PC is running Skype 5.3.0.116.
This anomaly only occurs when I dial from my PC, or FREETALK using Skype.  If I call her phone from our landline using FREETALK with the # prefix, to force a landline call, or if I call from our landline with FREETALK disconnected, or from my cell phone, then the call is correctly connected to her phone's voice mail.
These symptoms seem to point to some anomoly in the Skype dialing.  If the Skype experts believe that this may be an AT&T problem then please provide the exact dialing sequence, as that will probably be the first information that AT&T will ask for.
    Thanks.

  • Skype calls kill my internet connection.

    Hello,
Not sure this is the right area or not but this issue is becomming kind of fustrating.
Recently I got a new modem (also upgraded mac os though I doubt thats connected); now whenever I start a call on skype it goes okay for a few seconds, then quality drops, then I all together lose connection to skype. Then after a few moments the connection to my modem itself is unresponsive and I find the only thing I can do is restart it and wait a few moments.
This only happens with Skype however, not with online gaming, youtube/movies ect.
Does anyone have any advice or ideas? Can't really use skype anymore...

Connectivity issues like that sounds like a network issue to me.
First, learn to use Skype's Technical Call Information window
    https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA11066/is-my-call-being-relayed-in-skype-for-mac-os-x
While in calls keep an eye on that window while it does display some cryptic looking error messages those error messages relayed here on the board can be helpful in identifying your problems.
Second test your network connection with a free tool from MegaPath. Critically network speed is far from the only metric. Latency, Jitter, and loss are very important for any RTC ( Real Time Communication ) via the Internet.
    http://www.megapath.com/speedtestplus/
Have you seen all the different things that can interfere with WiFi? Baby monitors, cordless phones, you call phone, wireless speakers, your microwave, cables etc, etc, etc.
If your having trouble with Skype grab a LAN cable and plug it directly into your router and try again. Eliminating the wifi network from your list of trouble suspects should the FIRST step in halving your trouble.

  • Skype calls to pc drop pc's connection to internet

When in a skype call the connection between my computer and the interent will dissapear interupting the call. It does not seem to restart the router or even disconnect the computer from the router as all pther internet using devices remain fully opperational. The internet will remain unaccessable from this pc for as long as the call is attempting to reconnect OR untill I disconnect from the router and reconnect again.
As you can guess this gets frustraiting when you're trying to skype your girlfriend who's half a country away nad keep having to re-connect the call every 5 minutes at best.
The problem does not seem to be with the router as it is fine from all other devices including my android phone and several other windows laptops. It is also present on (assumingly) all networks including the D-Link router in use at home, the Virgin media Super hub I use at my uni house and on an ethernet connection I had in halls last year.
I will work on getting logs uploaded ASAP, however as it is currently late I don't really want to go ringing people to wait for the call to drop at some random point. I am also happy to provide any additional information which may be required to diagnose the issue, for starters here is the log from when I ran the network connectivity troubleshooter last time it disconnected in this way: http://pastebin.com/2zi99XyY
Thank you for any help you can provide,

UWGreat !    Glad for you and your friend that the issue has been resolved. Enjoy Skyping !

  • My iPad2 won't connect to another iPad2 for FaceTime. It rings, says connecting, then call failed. Also no sound on my FaceTime. Mute off and all settings set for sound.

My ipad2 won't connect to another ipad2. It rings, says connecting, then says call failed. I've connected with this person before. Stopped working recently. And my audio won't work on FaceTime. Mute is off and all settings set for sound.

I've had this issue between 2 iMacs and an iPad2. No solutions yet, and I've tried changing the DNS. Sorry.

Every time I call through face time on my I pad2, it rings and it says connecting and after that it closes and won't connect.

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
