Your video clips will import directly into iMovie. It's a great video editing program. I'll include some quick video tutorials to get you started below:

When you open the iMovie application, click HELP > iMOVIE HELP on the menu bar to access the manual for the program. One of the first topics is Importing Video.

I've had issues with my iPhoto "not responding" and as a result I am attempting to save my photos to an external hard drive using iPhoto library Manager but each time I start the program it saves some, and then when it starts iPhoto, iPhoto then goes into not responding mode. Using mac book pro, iphoto 9.5.1, and maverick 10.9.2. I have completed all of the photo library first aid steps several times, but it makes no difference, iphoto eventually goes to "not responding." Initial issues started with Time Machine back ups stopping because of iphoto. Thanks......
Do you have a back up?
If you're just trying to recover the photos you can do that much more simply:
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for a Folder called 'Originals' or 'Masters'. (varies according to the version of iPhoto)
Your photos are inside - these are the originals as imported from your camera. -

AirPort not responding on Mac Partition, only on Windows partition
I am having trouble with my Mac Book Pro’s AirPort.
Here is a background on the problem and thank you for your help:
Monday evening I installed the updates. I put the computer to sleep.
Tuesday morning, once I arrived at my University, I opened it up and attempted to use their password protected wireless internet. It would not connect. The correct information was entered and it was verified by the IT desk and "my mac using" desk neighbor that the school internet was working just fine. So, I entered my Windows XP partition and connected to the school’s wireless internet without any problems, using the same airport as I was before!?!?!
I came home that evening and tried again. My computer still would not connect to ANY wireless connection password protected or not (including our neighbors), but it can connect by Ethernet to the same source. My roommate’s iMac is connecting without any problems through airport to our wireless Comcast router. All PCs also connect wirelessly, working just fine.
It states that it cannot receive an IP address. The correct network is connected, but there is no response from IP addresses.
I have called Apple Care. They took me through every process they had available. They did a “ping” to an IP address and it returned quickly. Once the “ping” was done to www.google.com there was no response. They just said hmm that is odd, with no solution. They have always been very helpful in the past and with great customer service. I was surprised that they had never heard of this problem.
I have restarted the computer and taken out the battery, no change.
I am now back at school connected with the ethernet cable, no problem, but I need to be able to take my computer away from my desk and use the wireless internet.
Any clever ideas? I’m sure I left out some technical details. Thank you for your help!
SarahI went to the Apple Store and they opened the system preferences folder and networking. They checked to make sure the airport was on. Next, they reset my Location by selecting test in the drop down menu. Then set it back to automatic. No more problems. They were not sure how it became a problem in the first place though. I hope this helps someone else.

I booted up this morning to find my voice over feature active. A black bar was at the lower left corner of my screen. When I began to click on the users in my login window it would not respond. All that I saw was the black bar saying authentication busy. I was not able to restart, I was not able to switch users, I was not able to shut down. I decided to manually shut down my Mac. when it booted back up I was looking at the disk utility screen. When I clicked on repair or race it indicated that my hard drive had already been arranged. I was looking at completely formatted drive and I was having to either restore from Time Machine or reinstall lion. I had a back up but why did this happen?
A possible workaround could be to have the horizontal scroll bar visible all the time.

I keep getting a message that Firefox is open and not responding. That I have to close the Firefox application or restart my computer. A real pain. Why is the firefox application not closing.
Sounds like Firefox is "hanging at exit". That problem is frequently caused by an Extension or a Plugin. Read all of the following articles.<br /><br />

Decided to update iphone 4 to ios 5.1 and mid update it froze and the screen is black. Phone does not respond to any combinations of home and power buttons, when plugged into computer it does not see it is plugged in so I cannot restore or anything. Looks like the screen is on it's just unresponsive and black obviously. Has anyone had this problem? I was updating via wifi right in front of my router and my computer.
Spoke to a "senior advisor" in the Apple TV department. Her suggestions: change channel in router to minimize/eliminate wifi interference from other users; move router away from any metal - i.e., DVD player, phone modem, etc.; keep router away from wireless 2.4 gH phones, which are "notorious" for crashing wifi routers. So she confirms that the problem is one of connection to router suddenly dropping out.
My own feeling is that none of these fixes will do the trick, because it seems pretty clear that there is a hardware component here - the timing of the drops seems like an overheating issue. It takes 35-40 minutes for the box to warm up enough for the first drop; then each consecutive drop happens quicker than the one before, as it heats up more. Each time it drops, its tiny brain gets a little more scrambled; last night it finally wouldn't start up again at all.
My suggestion is that everyone who is experiencing this problem, please call Apple tech support and ask to speak to a senior advisor in the Apple TV department. Make them aware of this problem! -
HT204144 I am on mac mini (mid 2011) and iphone 6 and trying to use airdrop but it is not working.
I followed all instructions but under mac finder, air drop is simply blank. I have set-up everyone on airdrop on iphone 6 in control center. Am I missing something. I am also on same network.

So I am using mac mini mid 2011 and according to this line, I may not use it and need mac 2012, right? but why air drop is showing here on my mac mini is due to fact that transfer between 2 mac computers is possible if one is even of less than 2012 make.

My Mac Mini was not sending a signal to the monitor. I powered down using the power button and now it will not start. When i power up I get a strange 2 tone sound, like a warning alarm. The fan starts, and the light comes on, but no screen.
I have tried with a wired USB keyboard and mouse using a single screen. Powered up with option pressed. No change.
Reset SMC no changeRun the Apple hardware test to see what it tells you. Run the extended test when prompted, which can take awhile.

Try deleting the email account and readding it in the "other" tab instead of Yahoo/gmail, etc
