Outlook 2003 Calendar syncing bug fixed!

Since Apple has refused to acknowledge this major bug in Itunes 7.7 - iPod Touch 2.0, I decided to solve the problem myself.
As you all know. The new Apple software and firmware upgrades have destroyed the syncing of Outlook Calendars with both the iPhone and iPod. Syncing calendars doesn't work anymore.
I use my iPod Touch/Outlook Calendars everyday for my work. I need my calendars to be in sync always.
Here is what I am doing to solve the problem - and it seems to work. Test it yourself.
1. Open Outlook 2003 or 2007.
2. Go to the Calendar tab.
3. Find a Calendar appointment or event that is not syncing correctly with your iPod Touch.
4. Make note of the details of the appointment - date, duration, recurring etc.
5. Write these details on a scrap of paper.
6. Store the paper in your wallet.
I joke - but I'm getting mad.

As much as I love my iPod Touch, this problem syncing with Outlook 2003 -- and the failure of Apple to acknowledge it (at least there's nothing I've seen so far) -- has me ready to toss it out my office window. It all seems so random: Sometimes it's fine and the sync woriks, sometimes it's producing multiple versions of an appointment, and sometimes the appointment gets deleted from Outlook, the iPod or both. Looks like I actually do need a paper backup!! This is the second time that updating my iPod Touch has resulted in a major slip in functionality. The last time I was told that by an insider that Apple engineers dislike having to work out bugs with Windows, that they don't like Windows. Are we being punished? This is seriously annoying.

My iPhone 4s is not syncing my Outlook 2003 calendar when connect via USB cable. Can you suggest solutions?

    Hi Jon,
You may have to Reset the Sync history, as shown here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1692. This would force the Merge or Replace syncing options to be shown the next time you sync calendar events.

    I need some help.
iPhone Calendar wiped out after sync with an empty Outlook 2003 Calendar.
Unable to restore from backup as my iPhone was backed-up before I realised my calendar info was gone.
I found an old backup file in my old disk but was unable to move the old calendar data to the empty outlook after restore. It just keep wiping out after I sync.
    Thanks.

I have managed to find an old back up to restore my iPhone. However even with at least one entry in my outlook, my calendar details on my iPhone was still wiped out and was not transferred to my outlook.

  • Outlook/ IPhone calendar syncing issue - adding one hr to EST.

Is there a fix for syncing Outlook 2003 calendar and the IPhone 4s? It continues to add 1 hour to the phone calendar - I have synced it both ways with the Time Zone Support on and off still no change...this is getting frustrating...any help?

I am having this problem also. It happens with re-occuring events. The Outlook calendar is correct but the iPhone calendar is changing the events by one hour. I have tried the fixes suggested elswehere regarding changing / setting the timezones but as the OP stated this is not fixing the problem.
    Apple please address this.

  • Longstanding Exchange Calendar Sync Bug Persists in iOS 7 / 7.0.2

For those who sync their iPhone / iPad / iPod touch to a Microsoft Exchange e-mail environment, you may be aware that there's a longstanding Exchange Calendar Sync bug (affecting iOS 4.x - 6.1.3).  An otherwise functional iDevice may suddenly remain warmer to the touch than normal, exhibit much shorter battery life, and start using cellular data at up to ten times the user's typical pattern.  I've taked with Apple Support several times, and was never able to get an answer.  The fix involves simply opening the Exchange account settings on the iDevice, shutting off calendar sync for thirty seconds, and turning it back on.  This is nothing new.
Over the weekend, an executive’s iPhone 5 (on Verizon) and his iPad 2 (Wi-Fi only), both running iOS 7, began exhibiting runaway connections to my employer’s Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync server.  The user upgraded his iPhone 5 to iOS 7.0.2 over the weekend, but the problem persisted.  In one 24-hour period, his iPhone checked in with our server 45,009 times, while his iPad connected 55,547 times.  Normally we’d expect to see a single device connect a few hundred times per day rather than tens of thousands.
I've written more about it here.

This is still a problem in iOS 7.0.4 as well.  We just had runaway calendar sync behavior on a 4th generation iPad running iOS 7.0.4 (iPad3C4/1102.55400001), which connected 75,436 times in a single 24-hour day.

  • I Phone & outlook 2003 not syncing

When attemping to sync my Outlook 2003 calendar& contacts I am getting an error message that says " cannot connect because iphone has disconnected" I went in and unchecked addin that was not apple and I did a re sync history. Help!

Apple support had me sync my contacts from my phone to windows address book, that worked correctly. then they had me disable all third party add ons (there weren't any). they had me create another user on my computer to make sure i dodn't have any settings that would prevent the sync from working. i did that and the sam thing happened, nothing. they had me uninstall all programs associated with itunes and reinstall quicktime with itunes. that's where they let me go, they said that would resolve the problem, it didn't. So now i'm stuck.

  • Please Help Me! I've deleted almost all of my Outlook 2003 calendar entries and can't get them back!

    Hi,
I synced my Curve to my Outlook 2003 calendar two days ago, and it worked great. Then I added a few items to the calendar on my blackberry and tried to sync so those new entries would appear on my outlook calendar. I stupidly just clicked through and didn't read the pop up screens because I thought it would just work fine.
Somehow, this move deleted nearly all of my calendar entries on my Outlook, but all of the entries are still on my Blackberry calendar (over 1,000 entries). Now, I can't get them back on my Outlook calendar. I tried just syncing one way from device to Outlook and it looks like it's doing it, but then nothing shows up on Outlook.
    What do I do?
    Thanks.
    Thanks.

In the Desktop Manager > Sync > Configuration, make sure the calendar options are set to override Outlook.
Set it also to notify you of the changes, so you will have to approve any changes.

  • Move iCal .ics files to PC Outlook 2003 Calendar

I recently have been handed a Blackberry at work. UGH. Anyway, here is the deal, i have been using my MAC for the past 2 years for contacts and calendar's. I would ultimately want to be able to sync both my iCal and my Outlook 2003 at the same time. As for now the main thing was to take all my iCal files and import them into my PC Outlook 2003 calendar so that they show up on my blackberry. It seems though that everytime i try it imports sporatic dates and not the whole file. I then get a corrupt file message on my office PC. Any Ideas. This living in a MAC/PC world ***** but it is what it is.
    Thanks

Hey thanks for the Idea. I did go to the BB Site. I picked up this program called Missing Sync for Blackberry. It really works well. I was more concerned about iCal events from the past 2 years i had on my Mac. So with this program... I turn off the wireless off on the calendar on my BB, sync it to my Mac iCal then i turned on the wireless and all the information from my Mac that was now put on my BB was shot back to my work server so now my PC has all the iCal Events. I will do the same with contacts after i clean them up a bit. This program will do tasks as well as notes , photos, music. It was quick and easy to install so now every device is up to date with each other as far as Calendar events go. Here is the link if you wanted to look.
    thanks again.

  • HT5262 outlook 2003 calendar

I just purchased an iPad and  want to access my Outlook 2003 calendar from my iPad but I have already set up iCloud.  My understanding is that iCloud does not support Outlook 2003 but iTunes would work.  How can I get rid of iCloud and use iTunes for my calendar?  Thank you!

There have been some posts that the new iTunes does not support Outlook 2003 (and certainly, iCloud does not).  You might do a search in the forum on Outlook 2003 and itunes.

  • Can't sync to Outlook 2003 Calendar

As of today, I cannot get information from my BlackBerrycalendar into Microsoft Outlook.  This is new:  for the last year it was not a problem.
I have a Curve 8300 series phone (Verizon) PIN 302AC62.  My operating system is Windows XPProfessional, and the application in question is Microsoft Office 2003, SmallBusiness Edition.
Yesterday, I downloaded and installed Blackberry Desktopsoftware v. 5.0.  After completing the installationand connecting the device, the software told me that there was new devicesoftware available, which I let it install. As far as I can tell, the phone works fine.  It was a long download late at night, but asI recall I was able to synchronize my data with Outlook.
Today, Microsoft Word was unable to load properly (this hadbeen a recurrent problem), so I did a complete uninstall and reinstall ofOffice 2003, including the deletion of all Outlook address book and calendarinformation.
I have >1400 addresses on my handheld, and >3600calendar entries in the device default calendar (but until now I have had nosynchronization problems).  Afterreinstalling Office, I configured the Blackberry software to do a one-waytransfer of data from the device to Outlook. The address data synced just fine, but the calendar data recognized onlyabout 12 out of 3600 records (all records are still on the device).
After trying multiple times and going through some of thereader forums on your Web site, the only change I could come up with was thatnow when I try to synchronize, the program does not seem to recognize ANYcalendar entries on the device.
Thinking that the desktop software v. 5.0 might either bebuggy or not backward-compatible with my device, I uninstalled it and did afresh install of v. 4.7.0.37 from your Web site.  The problem persists.  It is a huge problem for me.
This issue is on my home computer.  I will see what happens with my officecomputer tomorrow.
    Thanks!

Don't worry about taking up my time. If I didn't have it, I wouldn't be here on the computer trying to help. You are talking about a contacts folder in Outlook 2003? The address book is when you click on sending a new mail and then click on the To: Am I correct? I think you should try and export your pst file and then try opening the new file in Outlook and see if that will correct things. You might need to go to the Microsoft site to get help in how to import the file. I am using Outlook 2010 and cannot remember the exact commands that would help you. I cannot remember if it is under Tools or somewhere else for you to export the file. It could be under File, then Export if 2003. After you save that file, then go to file and open, and then navigate to the new file and see if that opens a new Outlook pst file for you. You can then try and sync with the new one and see if that works. I hope that helps, but trying to remember all of the commands can be difficult. I teach Microsoft Office and having to remember all of the new ones can be difficult enough!

  • Outlook Calendar Sync - Possible Fix - Windows XP

So, I too had the problem where my Outlook 2003 SP2 Calendar (running on XP SP2) would not sync. I would choose the proper settings, iTunes would go through sync process and nothing would transferred. So after a few Google searches, I did the following.
    1. I performed the Microsoft Windows Update. Whatever came up, I did them all. If you're not sure how to force an update, go to www.windows.com and look for "Security Updates..."
    2. I performed the "Check for Updates" and "Detect and Repair" functions under Microsoft Outlook (located under the Help menu in MS Outlook).
    3. I added iTunes.exe to the DEP (Data Execution Prevention). Do this by right clicking on My Computer from your desktop, choose Properties, choose the Advance tab, choose Data Execution Prevention tab, click the radio button for "Turn on DEP...", click on Add..., browse for your iTunes.exe file (usually under C:\Program Files\iTunes), click Open, click Apply, and then close all windows. Now restart your computer, start iTunes, start Outlook, make sure you choose Outlook as the "sync from" source and sync away!
Note: I sync my Contacts via Yahoo. I tried changing my Contact source to Outlook and it didn't work -nothing showed up. Oh well, I'll just use Yahoo for Contact source.
Note 2: Whatever your results are, I take no responsibility for any mishaps.
    Good Luck!

Thanks for your help. I did all the things you mentioned, but still nothing. I have previous but not current. It just won't pick up each others information. There must be a reason it found it the first time and not now. Crazy huh? Thanks again. If you hear anything it will be great to find out.
