Outlook 2003 photo stream sync

I have a desktop PC running Vista and Outlook 2003. I just want to sync photos on it (I don't sync with Outlook at all).
When I try to set up iCloud on thr PC, I get an error about needing Outlook 2007/2010 and an option to cancel (no other option, eg to turn off Outlook sync).
Photos will not sync with this system even though I have successl sync with my laptop (which has Outlook 2010 but, again, I don't sync with outlook on there either). So it is not a problem with my iPod or the cloud, it is this PC only.
I have seen other similar reports on the net but no solutions. This seems like a bug to me - is there a process for bug reports?

It should work fine.
Did you get errors in the sync? Can you look at the sync log and see?
I assume you were well able to configure the BB to sync with Outlook, it just didn't?

My Photo Stream works and I have iCloud control panel installed. The photo stream sync is selected, but when I go to the my photo stream folder on my windows PC there are no photos in the file.

    mlvov,
I did as you said and went to the icloud control panel on my Windows 8 Laptop to be sure I was looking at the correct folder for my photo stream.  All my "shared" albulms pushed to my Laptop and are up-to-date with the exception of the "photostream" album. If I create a "shared stream album" and place photo's in it on the phone; I can see the photos on my laptop. I dont get it. I had a iphone 4s and had zero isues and now with my new nifty iPhone 5s it doesent work.
What am I not doing correctly.
    Thanks,
    iPhone, 5s, iOS 7.0.2

  • How quickly does photo stream sync for you?

how quickly does photo stream sync for you?

I have seen some posts floating about here complaining that photos don't or at least don't immediately sync to all devices. I think a small number of these people may not realise that syncing requires wifi and not 3G, one must also remember this community is like a doctors surgery, it is where people come if they have aches and pains.

  • Outlook 2003 + iPhone calendar sync problem solved

Here is how I solved my sync problem. Seems a lot of people have the same problem here with Outlook sync suddenly not working after it worked fine for a long time.
I've had Outlook 2003 calendar sync with my iPhone for a few month without any problem, but a few days ago the sync suddenly stopped without any error message. iTunes Diagnostic found no problem and I followed all the steps that Apple outlines to fix the problem but nothing worked (TS2776).
As Apple asked to, I created a new user account on my Windows machine and setup a few test calendar entries to sync with my iPhone. That all worked fine.
So I did what Apple doesn't tell you, and I copied my original Outlook Data file (.PST) over to my new user account and tried to sync that one. Now this didn't work. So I knew the problem lies somewhere in my PST file.
I have then tried to create a new one from scratch in my original Windows account, and copy all the data over. Again, it didn't work. So I emptied the file again, and copied all my calendar entries over to the new PST file in batches (first 10, then another 10, etc).
What I found at the end is that one single calendar entry I created a few days ago caused my sync to stop working. Once I removed this entry, everything worked fine again. Don't ask me what was wrong with it (I made a backup just in case Apple wants to see it), but now everything works again.
If you want to save some time to find which one it is, you may start deleting entries that you created just recently before it stopped working.
    Hope that helps.

Hi im having the same problem. I use outlook 2003 on windows xp and until recently my sync (using usb) was working fine. Now it would seem that calendar items are no longer syncing. can you give any further details of the calendar entry which was causing your problem? im wondering if it was added on a certain date perhaps.
I am running the inbox repair tool to see if my pst file has any problems but would appreciate any other help in the mean time.
    Cheers

  • Outlook 2003 won't sync with Desktop Manager 5.0

I've just purchased a Blackberry 8900 and have installed Desktop Manager 5.0 on my PC.  I can't get my BB to sync with Outlook 2003.  When I try to configure the Synchronization settings, I select the Device application and click on Calendar.  It then asks which applicaton I want to sync with and I select Microsoft Outlook.  Next I'm selecting two way sync (although I've tried both of the one ways syncs as well and I receive the same message).  I then click on transfer only future items.  Then I get a Runtime Error:  Option's value is unacceptable.  Please check option properties.  I've tried uninstalling Desktop Manager and reinstalling it---both from the CD that was provided and also from the BB website.  Any ideas on what I can do to get the sync to work?

  • Photo Stream Syncing

I have :an  iMac , New iPad & iPhone 4 , all with iPhoto .
After syncing between all these devices , I still see pictures in Photo Stream ( Taken with my iPhone ) .
Now , these pictures are in iPhoto's iPhone, iPad & iMac Events and Albums .
Can I delete the pictures in all devices  Photo stream ?
    Thank you.
    Ronen

Ok so that doesn't seem to be the case for me. I have over 900 photos in photo stream on my I Phone 4S that go back for the last year. However my I Pad 2 seems to delete them after 30 days. I also set up the new version of I Photo on my fiancee's I Mac and the 900 photos haven't synced wtih that either. It's really strange. I'm curious as to how to fix this issue.

  • Photo Stream Sync

I have downloaded the icloud on my pc.  Photo Stream is on in my iphone 5.  However,  when i go to options on my pc for Photo Stream I don't see the upload and download strreams as i have seen on other help sites.  Consequently i am not syncing with the phone.  Any ideas?

I connected both iPods to my computer, copy and pasted all photos from 4th gen in a folder in my pictures on my windows computer, syncing my ipod 5 to add those photos, it did but they aren't like normal pictures you take with the camera: you can't delete them.
That is correct. The iPod handles synced photos different than phtos taken by or saved to the iPod
Will all the photos sync eventually? "it will take a little while."
Only those photos in the PhotoStream Folder less than 30 old will sync to the iPod via wifi. However, Your iOS devices keep a rolling collection of your last 1000 photos in the My Photo Stream album. From there, you can browse your recent photos or move the ones you like to your Camera Roll or another album to keep them on your device forever.

  • IPod photo stream sync with iPhoto

    Hi,
I just synced my iPod photo stream to iPhoto on my laptop, but now I've decided I don't want to have my iPod photos on my laptop, is there a way of reversing this sync??
    Thanks

    Hi Ruby93,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand you no longer want to see your Photo Stream photos on your Apple computer. The attached article explains how to turn on Photo Stream. Where the article explains how to enable Photo Stream, you would do the opposite by unchecking the box.
    iCloud: My Photo Stream FAQ
    Mac:
Go to Apple () > System Preferences > iCloud.
Select the checkbox for Photos (or Photo Stream).
Click the Options button and make sure that My Photo Stream is selected.
Open the app that you want to use with Photo Stream (iPhoto or Aperture) and make sure that My Photo Stream is turned on in that app. You can also adjust your My Photo Stream settings in iPhoto or Aperture Preferences.
    Have a great day,
    Joe

  • Photo Stream syncing problem

Photo stream refuses to remove older photos from my iPhone.  The iCloud Photo Stream service is supposed to keep photos on your devices for 30 days and then delete them.  This works fine in iPhoto on my iMac, where photos duly disappear from the Photo Stream folder one monthe after they were taken.  But it does not seem to work on my iPhone, older photos are just stuck there, even after they were removed from iPhoto Stream folder.  Right now I have 280 photos in Photo Stream on iPhoto and some 730 in Photo Stream on the iPhone.  This is not supposed to be possible.  The only way to remove these "stuck photos" is to switch Photo Stream on the iPhone off and on again, foricng it download photos from iCloud anew.  But this is hardly a practical solution.
The service works fine in the other sense, ie, photos taken on one device are synchronised and appear on other devices.  It is just that, once added to the iPhone, photos are not removed automatically after 30 days.
Anyone having similar problems and / or an idea for a solution?

I understand that.  The problem is that the photos stay put on Photo Stream on the iPhone after being removed from Photo Stream in iPhoto.  Once a photo reaches it's "due date" it should be removed from iCloud and subsequently from all synchronised devices.  This does not happen, it is removed from some but not others.  Right now I have 243 photos on iPhoto Stream and 271 in iPhone stream.  How come?

  • Photo streaming sync????

I deleted a few pics on photo streaming b/c I didn't like them but they still showed up on my laptop. Why does this happen?

You're welcome.  Something to keep in mind about photo stream is that is should not be used to back up your photos.  Photo stream only keeps your photos for 30 days.  After that they are deleted from photo stream but will remain on any device that already has them.  The issue arises if you ever turn off photo stream, or have to restore your device.  When you turn it back on you will only get back the photos that fall within this 30-day window (since the rest are no longer in photo stream).
To be sure you have your photos, regularly import them from your camera roll to your computer as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.  This will, by definition, back up any photos in your photo stream since they originated in your camera roll.

  • Outlook 2003 notes not syncing with iphone

I cannot say for sure if this is a new problem as when I first purchased the iPhone 3GS 32GB (iOS 4) in June, running iTunes 9.2.0.61 on XP (all current updates applied), I got all notes from Outlook onto the iPhone. I updated some notes yesterday in Outlook, and noticed they weren't sync'd with the iPhone. This applies to both updated or new notes on Outlook. The same applies in reverse, in that any notes updated/created on the iPhone does not sync with Outlook.
Any sage advice on what's going on?

You are right, of course. There are so many threads on this subject, too many to count, and they go no where definitive. This is a symptom of a problem that is being experienced by iPhone users who use Windows & Outlook.
I am NOT a Windows user, and have been using various species of Linux for years, and am currently using Ubuntu on my desktop and notebook. I have been using Evolution, which is a linux version of Outlook. I now have setup a separate box to run XP and Outlook. I have tried using VMware running a virtual Windows XP on my Ubuntu box, which I have been using off and on for years with success. But, installing iTunes on the virtual Windows, and trying to sync causes the virtual Windows to hang - most unusual. Never got it figured out, hence, the Windows box.
Like I said before, iTunes is a cluge. And to it, they added the sync which ***** at best. Apple should re-think their strategy, and focused on iTunes as being a damned good multi-media application, which will sync with Mac/Windows/Linux. Then, they should have another application, something called "iSync" or "iFiles" which specializes in syncing up anything other than multi-media, such as contacts, calendars, notes/memos, tasks. This would be a nice tight piece of code, allowing to sync with Mac/Windows/Linux.
Wish I could've been more help.
PS. For whatever reason, notes are being sync'd across to the iPhone. I noticed this a "few" syncs ago. I don't know why it decided to sync notes, whereby, it didn't a week or more ago. It's at the point now, where I don't expect anything consistent when the sync happens. If it goes across, fine, if it doesn't maybe in a few days. Not the best approach if you are relying on this device for a profession/business!

  • Is there any way to have photo stream to sync to my pictures folder like it did before installing iLife 11?

    Hi,
Before installing iLife 11, my photo stream synced to the (Finder)Pictures- Photo Stream - which I very much liked.
Now I have installed iLife 11, iPhoto has taken over and the photos syncthere, not in the original Photo Stream folder.
Is there any way for me to revert syncing to the pictures folder ratherthan with iPhoto?
    2 reasons why:
1 - I have to copy the photos out of iPhoto which is annoying, there’sno point in having a auto sync if I have to copy out of iPhoto, I might aswell becopying off my phone.
2 - photos only sync when iPhoto is open so I have to wait for them todownload whereas before they synced as I took them and when I got in, they were'just there' and now I have to wait.
If anyone can suggest a solution for me that would be great, I don’twant to remove iPhoto from my system so that’s not an option.
If there isn’t a solution, what’s Apple playing at? Surely this isfrustrating for users other than me?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Why did Photo stream not sync in iCloud

Why didn't photo stream sync with iCloud on? I turned it on for both devices.

Photo stream only adds photos taken on your device after turning it on.  Earlier photos aren't added.  New photos are added when the camera is closed, the device is connected to wifi and it has at least 20% battery life remaining.  Both devices also have to be sharing the same iCloud account to receive photos from your photo stream.  (If they aren't sharing the same iCloud account you would have to create a shared photo stream album and share this with your other device.  This article discusses how to do this: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmc0cd7e99.)
Try taking a new photo on one of your devices, close the camera app, then be sure you are connected to wifi.  Then see if it streams to your other device (assuming it is signed into the same iCloud account).
