Outlook 2003 set up with non BT url

Hi All,
New to the forum so sorry if this is not the right place!
I moved to BT Infinity on Friday. Very pleased so far except for one problem. I cannot send emails.
I have my own URL for email and use Outllok 2003 to send and receive mails. Received emails OK. Fails to send. I was with plus net where I put"relay.plus.net" for Outgoing mail server (SMTP). For BT I have substituted mail.btinternet.com.
I have tried help and this forum to find out how to set up the account so far without success. Used a telephone number that came up on one of the help pages. Said that it would take me through to the UK help team. Called the number and got a message saying that this number was no longer valid and dial 0800 1114567. This took me through to an India help line who could not help.
Some basic questions. Do I need a BT email address to set this up? I have seen that I would have been set up with one when I join, but I am not aware.
I have tried to set up a authentication using my user ID. The problem there is that I have two @ "xxx@[email protected]". So tried changing my user ID, but was told this must be my email address.
So help would be very welcomed!

At some stage in the order process, you should have received an email like this:
This contained a new email address associated with your account, though it would still have been addressed to the email address that you had given at the time you ordered.
To send emails, you need to log in to the BT mail server with these details. It is quite common when leaving an ISP that they will continue to allow you to receive mails to your old address, but not send them. For sending from that address, you need to get it set up to send via the BT server. So for example, one of my Outlook accounts logs in to O2 to check for incoming mail, but logs in to BT to send from that address.
(You'll get into an address verification process to do this, but it's pretty straightforward.)

  • Accessing external web service with non-constant URL

    Hello, all
    I am looking in the documentation on accessing external web services, but either I am looking in the wrong place, or the documentatoin is lacking info.
    My clients have several web services in the local network (regular services, not DB-based), the have the same interface, but different URL's.
    Versions of the DB are 11, 12, and 16.
    First of all, I do not see in the specs an option for a non-hardcoded URL. The logic says that this has to be possible, but I cannot find it.
    Second, I need to see an example of accessing an XML or JSon based service, I cannot find it in the specs either.
    Can anyone point me to a document with examples?
    Thank you
    Arcady

    The following will call a web service with whatever URL you pass in as the argument "myurl".  I think that is what you are looking for.
    CREATE PROCEDURE cli_test2( myurl LONG VARCHAR )
    RESULT( httpheaders long varchar, httpvalues long varchars
    URL '!myurl'
    To deal with the resulting data in XML, use the OPENXML() function.
    eg. To turn an XML list of employees that looks like this:
    <root>
    <row EmployeeID="102" Surname="Whitney" GivenName="Fran" StartDate="1984-08-28"/>
    </root>
    into a table of results, you would do this (where xmlgetemplist() is the web service call):
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE xmlgetemplist() RESULT( httpheader long varchar, httpbody long varchar)
    URL 'http://localhost/demo/xmlEmployeeList'
    TYPE 'HTTP:GET';
    create variable res long varchar;
    -- call the web service
    select httpbody into res from xmlgetemplist() where httpheader = 'Body'
    -- extract the XML elements into a SQL result set
    select * from openXML( res, '/root/row' ) WITH ( EmployeeID INT '@EmployeeID',
           GivenName    CHAR(20) '@GivenName',
           Surname      CHAR(20) '@Surname',
           PhoneNumber  CHAR(10) '@Phone');
    To deal with the resulting data in JSON, use the sp_parse_json() procedure.
    eg.
    To turn a JSON formatted list of employees that looks like this:
    "EmployeeID": 102,
    "Surname": "Whitney",
    "GivenName": "Fran",
    "StartDate": "1984-08-28",
    "TerminationDate": null
    into a table of results, you would do this (where jsongetemplist() is the web service call):
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE jsongetemplist() RESULT( httpheader long varchar, httpbody long varchar)
    URL 'http://localhost/demo/jsonEmployeeList'
    TYPE 'HTTP:GET';
    create variable foo long varchar;
    --call the webservice
    select httpbody into foo from jsongetemplist() where httpheader = 'Body';
    --turn the json result into a structured array of data
    -- this step is required because of less structured nature of JSON
    call sp_parse_json( 'output_array', foo);
    --extract the JSON elements from the output array into a SQL result set
    SELECT  output_array[[row_num]].EmployeeID as EmployeeID,
                   output_array[[row_num]].SurName as SurName,
                   output_array[[row_num]].GivenName as GivenName,
                   output_array[[row_num]].StartDate as StartDate,
                   output_array[[row_num]].TerminationDate as EndDate
    FROM sa_rowgenerator(1, CARDINALITY(output_array))
    Hope this helps,

  • Outlook 2003 Shared Calendar with Rules

    I want to be able to set up a shared or group calendar that will only have a set amount of time blocks to book appointments into. For example, having 4 appointments available in one day only (10am, 12pm, 2pm and 4pm). No other time block could be selected
    and not more than 4 appointments can be booked within a day.
    Is this something that is possible and can anyone help me out with this?

    Hi,
    Based on my knowledge, there is no feature in Outlook 2003 to limit the number of Calendar items per day. Maybe we need to manually manage and control the meeting request time or number or find other third-party tool to achieve it.

  • KB953804 for delegatesentitemsstyle in Outlook 2003 in combination with Exchange Server 2010 SP1 not working.

    KB953804 Full  title  "Hotfix for An e-mail message does not appear in a user's mailbox if the e-mail message was sent on behalf of the user by a delegate in Outlook 2003."
    We have this working for ok Outlook 2003 SP3 in combination with Exchange Server 2003 SP2.  Now for mailboxes that are moved to our new Exchange 2010 environment the hotfix stopped working. The sent items get stuck in the outbox of the delegate instead
    of moving to the user in whose name the mail was sent. It does not matter if the user mailbox is on 2003 or 2010 as long as the delegated user is on Exchange 2010 SP1 it fails. We use Outlook 2003 SP3 in online mode.  Does anyone know how to fix this
    or maybe someone knows an alternative way to move the mails to the sent items with Exchange2010 SP1.

    Hi,
    I'd like to know how did you set "send on behalf",from outlook give delegation permission or from Exchange Server give "send as" right?
    Please try to use get-adpermission to verify if the user has "send as" right.

    Note: After you grant send as right, please try to restart Microsoft Information Store.
    By the way, do you receive any NDR or error information when you send on behalf of others?

  • Outlook 2003 Contacts Sync with Curve 9320

    Blackberry Curve 9320 | Blackberry Desktop Software (7.1 Bundle 1319) | Windows XP SP3 | Office 2003 SP3
    Email stored in local pst file (no Exchange server)
    I'm  trying to sync a specific Contacts folder from Outlook to the 9320. I do the following in the software:
    - Organizer
    - Tick Contacts
    - Configure…
    - Sync direction: One way to your device only
    - Contacts account: Microsoft Outlook
    - Configure… | Outlook Profile: MS Exchange Settings (Only option)
    - Advanced…
    At this point I get a message box twice:
    "WMS Idle: Rim.Desktop.exe - Unable To Locate Component
    This application has failed to start because BJABLR32.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."
    Advance Contact Settings still opens so I:
    - Folders tab
    - Select different contacts to sync
    - Add required mailbox
    - Change Default Folder
    - Close and Sync Organiser
    Then I get:
    "Synchronization Error
    A program error occurred at line 1548 in .\OIAccess.cpp. Please report this error by sending a log to technical support."
    It appears to try and transfer 3 items (there are 100+) but no contacts are transferred.
    I have reinstalled Blackberry software but the error remains.
    The missing file is part of Office 2003 SP3 but despite a reinstall of the Service Pack the file was not installed in ..\Windows\System32 where it belongs.
    What should be my next step?

    Are there any alternatives to importing contacts from Outlook?

  • Vista & Outlook 2007: Sync with second XP & Outlook 2003 - The passed buffer is too small for the reply data

    Dear Community,
    I'm synchronising my T3 with two PCs. One with Vista & Outlook 2007 and the other with XP & Outlook 2003. Both with the latest conduit & Hotsync Manager versions installed for each OS based on the availability on the Palm Website.
    My problem is that when I synchronise the T3 with either PC and then try to sync it with the other I'm receiving the following error message for the Calendar:
    Outlook Calendar
    The passed buffer is too small for the reply data.
    OLERR:0D-0008
    OLERR:0D-0004
    OLERR:0D-0001
    - Slow Sync
    Outlook Calendar synchronization failed
     The second time the sync is successful but takes a long time and the actual problem is that it creates duplicates for records previously changed on either PC - but with a sync in between those changes, i.e. no conflict in the sense that the same record was changed in both environments since the last sync. I have configured the conflict handling to establish a hierarchy PC1-T3-PC2 but try to avoid them by synchronising as often as possible.
    Has anyone come across that problem or any ideas? Can you somehow adjust the buffer size for the sync? I have been using Lotus Organiser & then the various Outlook versions for a number of years.
    Thank you
    Rainer

    As they say on TV, "Doh"!!!
    I figured out the problem. I started the Sync tool, selected "Settings", then "Mcrosoft Outlook" tab and then "Select Folders" button. I browsed to the proper folders in Outlook (Calendar, Tasks, etc). Select OK enough times and retried the sync.
    It worked.

  • 2 iPhone Household w/ Outlook Profile Sync Issues with iTunes beyond 7.3.1

    I’m huge Apple supporter and have to say this is the most frustrating computer issue I have ever come across. My wife and I both have iPhones and we sync them to the same pc except different Outlook profiles. iTunes 7.3.1 works fine when we sync our iPhones on each of out Outlook profiles, anything beyond 7.3.1 will automatically sync my contacts and calendar directly to her phone. It’s as if iTunes cannot distinguish between the two outlook profiles on the newer iTunes versions. I have tried both Outlook 2003 and 2007 with newer iTunes, and it's still not able to distinguish the two profiles.
    Any would be greatly appreciated.

    i have a similar problem, having one good and one bad outlook profile. Used to sync just fine against the good one (which is called 'new profile). new version is defaulting against the bad one, which has none of my contacts...
    where does one setup which named profile is to be used?
    thank you! any help appreciated!

  • Outlook 2003 + iPhone calendar sync problem solved

    Here is how I solved my sync problem. Seems a lot of people have the same problem here with Outlook sync suddenly not working after it worked fine for a long time.
    I've had Outlook 2003 calendar sync with my iPhone for a few month without any problem, but a few days ago the sync suddenly stopped without any error message. iTunes Diagnostic found no problem and I followed all the steps that Apple outlines to fix the problem but nothing worked (TS2776).
    As Apple asked to, I created a new user account on my Windows machine and setup a few test calendar entries to sync with my iPhone. That all worked fine.
    So I did what Apple doesn't tell you, and I copied my original Outlook Data file (.PST) over to my new user account and tried to sync that one. Now this didn't work. So I knew the problem lies somewhere in my PST file.
    I have then tried to create a new one from scratch in my original Windows account, and copy all the data over. Again, it didn't work. So I emptied the file again, and copied all my calendar entries over to the new PST file in batches (first 10, then another 10, etc).
    What I found at the end is that one single calendar entry I created a few days ago caused my sync to stop working. Once I removed this entry, everything worked fine again. Don't ask me what was wrong with it (I made a backup just in case Apple wants to see it), but now everything works again.
    If you want to save some time to find which one it is, you may start deleting entries that you created just recently before it stopped working.
    Hope that helps.

    Hi im having the same problem. I use outlook 2003 on windows xp and until recently my sync (using usb) was working fine. Now it would seem that calendar items are no longer syncing. can you give any further details of the calendar entry which was causing your problem? im wondering if it was added on a certain date perhaps.
    I am running the inbox repair tool to see if my pst file has any problems but would appreciate any other help in the mean time.
    Cheers

          Will the outlook 2003 iview passed with <user.userid> to open the outlook in portal. Does it require any additional configuration like SSO2KerbMap installed in Exchange server?

    Hi,
    Depending on the type of integration you are looking for you will need to setup different scecurity scenarios. Easiest method is via OWA. I refer you to the SAP help documentation:

  • Can't sync Centro (AT&T) with Outlook 2003 - on non main user account

    Hi
    I have a Centro (AT&T) and Outlook 2003, Vista Home
    Our main user account ("L*******) can install the Palm Desktop software from a CD (that came with the Centro in May 2008) and from PalmDesktopWin62.exe (72MB).
    It ask for a user name of which I give it "K****" (letters removed on purpose). It ask me to connect the Centro and shows that it is using Outlook.  An Outlook email account is NOT set up on this user account on the laptop.  When I go to the HotSync Manager, it shows under Applications ~ Outlook, etc.
    On user account (K*****) on same laptop, when I try to sync above phone, it asked to set up another account "K****" on this PC to which I reply Yes.  Then when it starts the HotSync it is using Palm Desktop as it has under applications ~ Date Book, Address Book,To Do List, Memo Pad instead of the Outlook name of Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, Memos.
    I have done many hard resets on the Centro.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software from the CD & download several times also removing all the Palm OS files under all the user accounts on the laptop.
    I've tried installing both methods of software under the main account (L****) and the secondary account (K****) both as adminstrators.
    So my question: what am I doing wrong or can you only run an outlook sync from the primary account on a laptop?
    Also, I'm currently running all of the above on another computer but only using the primary account and not having problems.
    Thanks so much for your time!!!
    Post relates to: Centro (AT&T)

    Ok it sounds like that you have a username setup on the device. Now to get this synced with outlook we need to delete the current account setup on the PC in Palm Desktop. First we need to setup a username called test. Once that is setup then delete the other account and then sync the device. Once the device is done syncing go to Start-->Programs-->Palm-->PIM conduit sync--> sync with outlook. Click ok then done. Then sync again.
    To delete and add an account in the hotsync manager, open up the hotsync manger and select user accounts. Once in there click on add and type in test. Then click ok. Select the other username that looks like yours and delete it.

  • Outlook 2003 old Data File can't be removed and can't set up up iCloud sync with Outlook

    I had an issue with Google Calendar Sync after installing iCloud so I tried to remove my iCloud install.  When I go into Outlook 2003 it shows a Data File that exists with the iCloud name, but when I click on remove it comes back with "Äre You Sure....", I click yes and then an error states "The Requested Operation Failed." Then I try to click on the Settings Tab and I get the error "Än Unknown Error Occured, error code 0x8004011c".  The Open Folder tab is grayed out.  If I click on the E-mail tab, no iCloud email exists.  Hence something is lingering but I cannot get rid of it.
    When I go into the iCloud Control Panel the Mail, Contacts, Calendar and Tasks with Outlook is not ticked.  If I try to tick it and then apply the changes, it goes through the set-up for a few seconds and then returns an error box entitled Outlook Setup for iCloud with an error message Outlook Setup Error with a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark inside of it.  The options are "report", "try again" and "cancel" - all which are useless and don't do anything.
    Anyone have any ideas on how I can remove this Data File that supposedly exists within Outlook.  I have searched the c: drive and there is nothing by the name it states.

    Sorry...I have been looking at this for too long.  It is actually Outlook 2007.
    I actually have already removed the calendar, tasks, etc from Outlook as your last paragraph outlines, but it doesn't help.
    I have hoping to avoid the uninstall / reinstall, but I was leaning the same way.
    Thanks for your response.  Let me know if you think of anything else.

  • Error Code 0x82bc1095 trying to map folders in Address Book synching with MS Outlook 2003 SP3t

    Help please. My BB Curve 8900 OS v5 has suddenly stopped synchronising with my MS Outlook 2003 SP3. It gets as far as address book then stops, giving error message " One or more configured folders is not availablr. Update mapping field and try again". Configuring my organiser, when I click on a tab I get another message saying "No available Message stores". I click on OK and get the tabbed page opern but the mapping folders field is empty and greyed out.
    If I click on Map Fields, I get another error message "Error encountered. Error code 0x82bc1095"
    No synchronisation takes place at all.
    I am far from technically minded, say about one step above being a Luddite. Can anyone please advise me?

    Thanks for your suggestion, but things have moved since then. I tried swapping my mapisvc by changing the extension to 'old' and running the repair, but this did not recreate a mapisvc.inf file, so I changed the extension back to inf. I also uninstalled Outlook Connector as other threads have suggested.
    However another thread suggested resetting the organiser using the reset settings button.  I did this, but the DTM will not now let me set up synchronisation with my Outlook. Outlook is shown as an option, along with Yahoo and ASCII.
    It just lets me go through the process but does not produce a tick in the appropriate box at the end.
    I did tell it to synch with Yahoo to see if it would take and it does, but when I try to change it to Outlook it does not register the change (leaving it as Yahoo). I have to select 'none' to clear the tick.
    You can probably tell that I'm useless at this sort of thing and I'm getting very frustrated with the whole thing. I've had numerous problems ever since I upgraded the device software. I think that if I ever get this working again, I will not do anything else.
    Hope you can help an old duffer and thanks again for your input.

  • Sync 2 iPhones with 1 PC using Outlook 2003

    Hey all,
    My wife just bought an iPhone and now we have two that need to be synched to the one PC running XP and Outlook 2003.
    Is there any way to sync separate contact lists and separate calendars using Outlook 2003 on a PC without creating a second user account?
    I have scoured the web looking for options and could only find two solutions:
    _1. Create a separate user account_ for my wife and sync the phone with that account. (Problem here is that I know someone may accidently synch her phone with my account. Also, it is a hassle having to choose a user account everytime you boot up the PC).
    or...
    _2. Make "Contact Groups"_ (which I believe is only available in Outlook 2007) and select them when setting my synch options in iTunes. (Problem here is I have to upgrade my software - trying to avoid spending any more $$ for the moment!)
    I realise this is probably more of a PC question but I thought I would try posting here as well.
    I am sure most of you will just say "Go and buy a Mac!"
    Thanks in advance for any assistance,
    Gyoza

    Thanks for the reply.
    I have now ditched Outlook all together and have set up two Google accounts instead.
    This way there is no need to synch with the PC at all. Just synch via the cloud.
    Yay problem solved.

  • Tour Sync Issues with Outlook 2003 and Error Code 0x8004fceb

    Hello, I have a Tour with DM 5.0, which I sync with Outlook 2003 on my laptop running Vista O/S.  I am having a problem deleting items from the Tour that I've previously added via a sync with Outlook.
    Some time after syncing, I delete the items from Outlook and then re-sync.  Instead of deleting from BB, the changes dialog box tells me the items are going to be added from the device to Outlook!!!  If I accept changes so that other calendar items will update (from Outlook to BB), Outlook remains fine, but the items do not delete from BB.
    Additionally, existing items on BB are duplicated on the BB during sync.  In other words, I have ended up with 7 entries for one appointment on the BB even though there's only one in Outlook.  This primarily happens with recurring appointments.
    Lastly, despite all this confusion, the sync ends with Error Code 0x8004fceb; check documentation, which I cannot locate on blackberry.com.
    I am set up for two-way sync, future items only.  I even reset to one-way sync from calendar to device to no avail.
    Please help.
    Thank you.

    Sorry. I guess I needed to be clearer I have Office SP 2.
    I will tell you that I currently running an older version of iTunes (7.3) because that is the only one that syncs.
    In the newest version of iTunes (and of course the current one) it does give me the option to sync with outlook.
