Outlook 2003 Won't Close

After a recent iTunes update, Outlook 2003 will no longer close. It is putting a Com-add in "iTunes Outlook Addin". Once I disable, Outlook closes. How can I stop the add in from being installed? Everytime I open iTunes, it installs again.

It does this to me too. This must be fixed. IMHO there is absolutely no reason for iTunes to insist on installing an Outlook plugin -- I'm am using iTunes SOLELY for buying and downloading music.

  • Outlook 2003 won't sync with Desktop Manager 5.0

I've just purchased a Blackberry 8900 and have installed Desktop Manager 5.0 on my PC.  I can't get my BB to sync with Outlook 2003.  When I try to configure the Synchronization settings, I select the Device application and click on Calendar.  It then asks which applicaton I want to sync with and I select Microsoft Outlook.  Next I'm selecting two way sync (although I've tried both of the one ways syncs as well and I receive the same message).  I then click on transfer only future items.  Then I get a Runtime Error:  Option's value is unacceptable.  Please check option properties.  I've tried uninstalling Desktop Manager and reinstalling it---both from the CD that was provided and also from the BB website.  Any ideas on what I can do to get the sync to work?

  • Outlook 2003 won't connect with gmail

I use Outlook 2003 SP3 on my Windows 7 laptop and it will not always pull my gmail down using the Verizon hotspot. My AT&T hotspot works fine, and a direct wifi connection works fine.
I get the server not available message.
However, in the Options setup, I can test and receive the gmail just fine, including the test message.
Some research indicates this might be an issue with IPv6 verses IPv4.
Other than updating to Outlook 2010 which does not appear to have the same issue, any suggestions?

Hey there skyking4ar.  That certainly is odd. If you're able to get gmail sometimes you certainly should be able to all of the time, especially if a competitors device is always able to bring it up.
Do you have any issues with any other websites? Which mobile hotspot device do you have? Are the server settings set up correctly?
Please provide additional details skyking4ar and we will continue to troubleshoot. I am confident we can resolve the issue.

  • Outlook Sync won't close in iTunes 8.1

I've found 8.1 to be a huge improvement as 7 used to regularly cause my computer to freeze up entirely. But I am having difficulty with the sync.
The sync itself works fine, but after syncing is complete and I close iTunes/unplug iPhone, the Outlook sync process and the iTunes Helper.exe won't shut down, even via task manager. I have to restart my computer to get it to stop, then everything is fine until the next sync. It's not a questoin of giving it time as last night I left it running to see if it just took a while to shut down. This morning they were both still running.
The strange thing is I'm not even using anything Outlook related with iTunes. I sync to Safari 4 for bookmarks but all my contacts/calendar/mail are done directly on the iPhone using the google exchange push, so there's no reason for the sync to Outlook to be running at all.
Any ideas on why this is happening and how to stop it please?

I have searched high and low for the right solution for this issue.  I'm on an HP Envy laptop, running iTunes 12, and just upgraded to Windows 8.1.
I tried the settings for bit rate as suggested above and it still didn't work, but I did solve the problem.
In iTunes I went to Preferences > Playback > Play Audio Using ... and changed the setting from "Direct Sound" to "Windows Audio Session"
Now my iTunes on my laptop works!

  • Outlook won't close with iTunes 10 Addin

    Hey Guy's
since I updated to iTunes 10 (on two pc's) my Outlook 2007 won't close completely. There is always a grey Outlook icon in the statusbar and I have to close it with the taskmanager. If I deactivate the Outlook Change Notifier (an iTunes Addin) my Outlook will work fine. Is there anybody else with this problem? Any solution? I'm using Windows 7 64bit.

I'm having a similar problem - since I updated to iTunes 10, my Outlook 2007 just isn't working properly. When I close Outlook, it doesn't compeltely close. Like you, I have the grey Outlook icon in the status bar and have to close it (which probably isn't doing wonders for the .pst file) Disabling the Change Notifier doesn't seem to make any difference. Also when I actually have Outlook open, my messages are not being sent or received correctly - it seems to just sit there saying receiving message X of X and doesn't do anything else.

  • Outlook won't close after iTunes update

Any one else notice this after the last iTunes / Quicktime update?
After the most recent iTunes update, Outlook 2003 will no longer close completely. It stays active in the systray (that's the bottom right of the screen with the time) even though it's been closed appropriately.
The reason this is a problem is the following:
    - Outlook continues to pull mail off the POP server. My wife's iphone never sees new email because it's already been pulled by Outlook.
The workaround is to log completely off of that windows account so Outlook is forced to close. (There are several other workarounds, but that one is easy...)
    Any ideas?

  • New Calendar Entries Made on my BB won't sync by BB Enterprise in my Outlook 2003

We have tried wiping the Tour, resetting the server settings, the Caledar Services in Default Services is set correctly.
Someone suggested deleting Messanger.  Did that and immediately did a test new event on my handheld.  That event immediately showed up in my Outlook calendar on my PC.  A minute later, I tried another test and that one did not appear, but Messenger (for BB, Yahoo, AOL, Google & Windows Live) all reappeared on my device...
Please HELP!!!!  This is wrecking havoc with my scheduling!!!

  • Iphone 3g won't sync calendar back to outlook 2003 using owa

Using exchange, (outlook web access company server), I am able to get mail and contacts working great. Calendar entries/ appointments from my outlook (pc) show up fine on the iphone as soon as i enter them on my pc.
however, when i create a calendar entry on my iphone, it does not show up on my outlook calendar(pc).
    Thoughts?

Hi man, I got the same problem with my iPhone, but it has been solved..
First, You need the Outlook 2003 or 2007 only, if you have a earlier version of this it isn't work.
Second, You sould need to create a new PST file whit the Outlook Version 2003 or 2007, the file format must be on Unicode Format, no Outlook (97-2000) format, with this file format the import of calendar doesn't gonna be work.
Third, You now have a PST whit Outlook 2003 or 2007 Version, you need to manually put your events on the calendar, Why? Cause if you just move it on the new calendar it gonna create and old instance of the event not a new instance, That's why iTunes doesn´t sync the calendar.
I done all these and actually I can sync the calendar with my iphone.

  • Sync gmail messages between outlook 2003 on my hom...

    Hi everyone,
I've been reading a lot of posts on this forum and other pages on the net, but I couldn't find anything similar to my problem.
I have a E51 with the latest version of PC suite; and I am using Outlook 2003 on a WinXP SP2 machine.
PC suite does not give me the possibility to sync messages with Outlook (if it does, then it doesn't work for me). It only syncs calendar items, notes and contacts, which are all of secondary importance for me.
Of course, this is an enterprise phone, but I am not using it with my work computer. I use it with my gmail personal address. I got the phone set up to get my emails through IMAP and my computer through POP3.
What I would like is to be able to receive and send messages from my phone while on the go and still have the possibility to retrieve all email conversations when I download my messages with Outlook.
Unfortunately, although this works fine for received emails (downloading them with my phone will not erase them from my inbox and I will still be able to download them onto my computer), it is not the case with sent emails. These are stored in my phone memory as well as on gmail webmail under sent items, but they won't be set as part of the conversation in the inbox and will therefore not download onto my PC. And even if I move them manually to the inbox, they will be moved there in the webmail interface but Outlook will still not download them.
I would like to be able to save the history of some email exchanges from that particular gmail mailbox onto the computer (of course I don't need the whole history on my phone), and I find it a pain to have to go through the phone web browser to read and write my mail, so I would be really greatful if someone could tell me how to do it.
I could also change my email client to be something else than outlook if it makes it possible, but I don't think this issue is down to Outlook.
Thanks in advance for your help, I'll take any lead on how to do it or what to install...
    Cheers

    Hi e61drc,
Thank you for your answer! I'll try that as soon as I get home and post to let you know how happy I am!

  • Windows 7 -64 bit syncing with Outlook 2003 not working

    Hello all,
    I have a Dell Vostro 1720 (64-bit) with MS-Office 2003 (32-bit), in German language.
My Iphone 3GS (Dutch language) won't sync any contacts or appointments with Outlook 2003. There is no error message, Itunes seems to think everything is OK. Resetting the sync history in Itunes has no effect. Telling Itunes to replace all contacts and calendars has no effect either. I have disabled third-party Outlook COM add-ins (there was a Norton antispam entry there).
Strangely, the syncing of Outlook notes DOES work. As does the syncing of Internet Explorer bookmarks. I am at a loss.
Can anyone PLEASE point me to some help?

    Hi Vikas_Rathore_Patni
I'm a student in Greece and I'm interested in the way this code of yours actually works. What i really want to do is to find a way of opening e-mail attachments and extracting them to a txt file. Are there any necessary tips for that ?
I would really appreciate it if you could send me this code of yours in this mail :

  • How can I sync outlook 2003 contacts and calendars to icloud?

I know there is a tool for Outlook 2007 and later, but are there any solutions planned for Outlook 2003??
I am not on an Exchange server.

You are not alone - it took me two weeks to work out why I could no longer sync my ihpone to my PC and realised it was because Outlook 2003 is not supported.  Outlook 2010 will cost me c£100 - I've already spend a fortune on my iphone and new ipad - why on earth do I have to buy a piece of software I do not need in order to be able to sync my calendar wirelessly?  It is incredibly annoying.  I have tried to sync Outlook 2003 with Google Calendar first - but it just hangs.
You do need new software, yours won't work, a fact that was available to you when you chose iCloud.

  • Database Daemon and SyncServicesAgent won't close so I can't upgrade software. Any advice?

Microsoft Database Daemon and SyncServicesAgent won't close when trying to install software update. How do I do this?

A message to quit applications occurs in Office for Mac
If you see a message to "quit the following applications"  while installing an update for Microsoft Office for Mac  (See image) , click Continue, and then quit the applications listed in the message. To quit an application, click its name on the Apple menu bar, and then click Quit <application name> or press COMMAND Q. You can also quit an application if it has an icon in the Dock by pressing the CONTROL key, clicking the icon, and then clicking Quit.
You'll also have to turn off Sync Services in Outlook. To do this, start Outlook, click Outlook > Preferences, and then choose Sync Services under Other. Uncheck all boxes and then quit Outlook.
You should now be able to install the update for Office.
NOTE The message to quit applications may also appear if you're installing Microsoft Office for Mac. Follow the same steps to quit the applications before you install Office.

My iPhone with software 1.1.3 is not longer syncing calender events, i created on the iPhone, to outlook 2003 on my job-pc (windows XP SP2 / exchange). Events i created in outlook are syncing to the iPhone. I´m using itunes for windows 7.6.0.29. I think its not working after software-updates(?)

    Martin Keinert,
Was your PST imported from a previous version of Outlook? If so, it may not be a unicode PST file, and probably won't work.
This article discusses that issue, and links to Microsoft's Knowledge base for the steps to resolve:
