Outlook 2007 client has former user's name.

I have Windows 2012 servers. One of which has Exchange server 2013. Most of my email clients have Outlook 2007, and some have Outlook 2013. On one of the Outlook 2007 clients, the previous user's name appears above Inbox in left panel. On a spare computer
with Outlook 2007, I logged in as the affected user and setup Outlook for her. Her name appeared above the inbox until I closed and restarted Outlook. Then, the same former user's name appeared. On the user's computer, I gave this affected user local admin
rights, but the Disable Offline files option was grayed out. The affected user's account name is all that's listed under Email accounts tab. Under Data there is an OST file with the former user's name. Someone told me that my predecessor renamed the former
user's AD account for the new (affected) user--rather than creating a new AD account for the user. I've read that Exchange gets information from each user's AD account. Is the next step to delete the affected user's AD account and create a new one for her?
If so, do I leave her Exchange account, her computer's Windows profile, and Outlook profile/setup alone while I'm doing this? It may seem a minor issue, but it's frustrating to this manager. Recipients do receive her emails with her name as the sender
though.

Hi,
Before we go further, I'd like to confirm if the affected user has two mailboxes and the meaning of former user.
And for the strange OST file issue, I recommend you try to delete all OST files and recreate the profile to have a test.
Thanks,
Angela Shi

  • Exchange 2007 Address List Re-Named - Outlook 2007 Clients Show Old Name

I have renamed an Address List in Exchange 2007
Applied the Address List to make sure,
Manually updated the Offline Address Book
Re-Started Microsoft Exchange File Distribution service
Manually downloaded the OAB in Outlook 2007 Client
but the renamed Address list still shows as the old name In Outlook.
The clients are not running in cached mode and the change was made several days ago.
I have searched everywhere and I'm not the first person to have this problem but I can't seem to find an answer to this issue.
    Any help much appreciated.
    Lee

    Hi Lee,
Does the issue also happen in OWA?
If it is, please run Get-AddressList cmdlet to check whether the address list name (display name) is changed in your Exchange 2007. After re-naming the address list, we also need to run the following command to apply the changes:
    Update-AddressList -Identity "Renamed Address List"
Then check whether the renamed address list is changed in OWA or not. If it is updated successful in OWA, restart Microsoft Exchange File Distribution service to update the Offline Address Book and manually download OAB in Outlook client.

  • Outlook 2007 client reacurrance calendar not updating in mailbox

    Hello,
Using Exchange 2010 and Outlook 2007 client. User has access to a shared Calendar in Public Folder. She makes an Recurrence Appt in Public Folder and invites herself to Appt. If she changes one of the future apt (Location change or something like that) it
updates the Public Folder but not hers. I added myself to this apt and I am using Outlook 2013 and my apt does indeed update. I also can see in "Outlook Web Access" has updated, so just the Outlook 2007 client not updated.
Any thought into why? Unable to Upgrade to user to Outlook 2013 until New year for other reasons.
    thank you for any help.
    Michael

    Hi Michael,
Please first make sure she has installed all available updates for Outlook 2007.
In addition, please have the user temporarily turn off his antivirus and test again.
If still no luck, we may try testing with a new Outlook profile. See:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829918
Please let me know the result.

  • Outlook 2007 Clients Cannot Access Free/Busy Calendar info. for Exchange 2010 Mailbox

    Hi:
I have Outlook 2007 clients that cannot access Free/Busy Calendar info. for Exchange 2010 mailboxes.  They receive error like "...you do not have appropriate permissions..."
If those same users logon to a machine running Outlook 2010 then they can view the free/busy info. of the other user's mailbox, so I believe the permissions are set correctly on the mailbox to allow the viewing.
    Any insights are greatly appreciated!
    Thank you!
    Bob Herman IT Tropolis

    Hi Herman,
As you said, it seems users have proper permissions on mailbox.
Please make sure users has Reviewer permission on Outlook 2007.
Please try to run Outlook 2007 under safe mode or re-create profile.
Also try to turn Outlook 2007 to Exchange Online mode from Cached mode.

  • New inbox rule not showing up in Outlook 2007 client

I have made a rule for testing with the Exchange Management Shell. The rule worked. My problem lies in that the end-users have Outlook 2007 for the client software but the rule I create isn't visible (though it is working). The end-user needs to be able
to switch the rule on and off still. The rule does show up in the Outlook Web App however. I can't figure out why the rule isn't list in the Outlook 2007 client. Any ideas on how to fix this?

    Hi AMartin89,
    Thank you for your question.
Did you rebuild profile to check if the issue persist?
Did the issue occur on all users?
Could you post command which you create Inbox rule on PS?
What is you outlook version? We could update outlook to latest version to check if the issue persist.
We could configure profile on outlook 2010 to check if the issue persist.
If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.
    Best Regard,
    Jim

  • Outlook Sync Client has stopped working

Running the latest iTunes, new iPhone 4 and Outlook 2010 (incluing Outlook connector for Hotmail sync) on Win7 64 bit.
Sync to iphone process fails if attempting to sync any Outlook content. Windows reports an appcrash, with the message "Outlook Sync Client has stopped working". However, Internet Explorer favourites do Synch fine.
I have run scanpst.exe on my .pst files(as suggested elswhere) to no avail. I'm completely stumped - does anyone know how to rectify this???
    Message was edited by: Rau1

Phone field issue: When I add a contact on the iPhone from Google Maps (like I find a restaurant I like), I use the Add to Contacts option. It adds it. But when I sync to MobileMe, the phone doesnt come over. I found that the iPhone by default uses a phone field called Other or Default or Main that MobileMe doesn't like.
Being that Apple makes the iPhone AND MobileMe, you would hope this would all work. To fix, I edit the contact on the iPhone and change the field name from Other to Work, and then it syncs fine.
No big deal, but a bit annoying.
No, task synchronization is strangely absent from the whole iPhone experience. (sigh).
Notes are synced with iTunes. MobileMe doesn't do Notes. It does Calendar, Contacts, eMail, and you can upload pictures/videos from your iPhone, and soon you will be able to access online storage.
You can also try Google Sync. Google syncs calendar and contacts. They too have a phone field problem. Contacts with 4 or 5 phones only have 2 or 3 come over (at least it did it for me when I tried it). The best part of Google Sync is that it is free. MobileMe costs money, but it also has a very cool Find my iPhone feature. You can go to the MobileMe website and it will locate your iPhone if you lose it, and give you the option of a remote wipe of all data. Very nice.

  • Exchange 2013, Outlook 2007 clients Problems with Outlook Anywhere connection

    Hi everyone,
    I have a mail system Exchange 2013 SP1, on Windows Server 2012 R2.
I have only one mail server with the Client Access and Mailbox roles Server.
    I have a Wildcard certificate type *. Mydomain.com.
All connections to the Outlook Anywhere Outlook 2010, Outook 2013 work correctly.
The ActiveSync connections are working properly, too.
But Outlook 2007 clients connecting with Outlook Anywhere asking for credentials continuously fail continuously.
    How can I solve this?
    thank you very much
Microsoft Certified IT Professional Server Administrator

    Hi,
Based on my experience, we need to set Outlook provider with the domain name if it's wildcard certificate:
    Set-OutlookProvider -Identity EXPR -CertPrincipalName msstd:*.domain.com
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc535023(EXCHG.80).aspx
Thus, I recommend you try the above configuration and test the Outlook connection again.

  • Outlook 2007 Clients Prompt For Password When Opening

I am running Exchange 2007 Standard.  New outlook 07 clients prompt for password each time it is opened.  Older clients do not prompt for password.  Is there any way for outlook 07 to not prompt for password?  Users already logged into domain, should their credentials not be recognized automatically like with outlook 03?

  • Certificate error on Outlook 2013 clients, Outlook 2007 clients do not get certificate error, Exchange 2010, dot local domain name

    Hi
I'm looking for a solution that I can't seem to find.  I have an Exchange 2010 server running in a dot local domain (domainname.local), so my SSL certificate is installed using the servers external email DNS name.  email.mycompany.com
I have followed the instructions to resolve this on the Exchange server, implemented the changes so autodiscovery sees the server as email.mycompany.com.  This works great for my Outlook 2007 users.  The downside is that none of my Outlook 2013
clients can access their email without the certificate error server name mismatch.
I know Outlook 2013 has tighter security but I need to get rid of these cert errors, any thoughts out there?

    Hi,
Since both your Outlook 2007 users and Outlook 2013 users are using Exchange 2010 with the same server configuration, it should be working in both Outlook client version.
Please restart your IIS service by running IISReset /noforce from a Command Prompt window in Exchange to have a try. In Outlook, please re-create a Outlook profile to check whether the issue persists.

  • Outlook 2007 Clients receiving winmail.dat attachments

I am running Exchange 2007 on Windows 2003 R2 64 bit.  End users run Outlook 2007 on XP  sp2 machines.  Users randomly receive winmail.dat attachments in their email.  Does anyone know how to fix this on Exchange 2007?

That is what I find most interesting, is what Microsoft has released regarding winmail.dat files.  It seemed to me that it was the mail compliance of the recipient that was causing these files to appear.  Only recently have I found more discussion on the topic on other forums, including here, showing that it is also caused by other situational basis other than the recipients method of viewing the email...unless I misunderstood all along and it would seem so.  Because in my mind, it would make more sense if the recipients mail server is the cause of the issue, not so much the recipient.  if the recipients mail server does not interpret TNEF than could all their customers be experiencing this?  i must assume this because it would mean that if the recipient accesses their email via a webmail client that does not support TNEF, than they receive a winmail.dat...however if they check their email again from outlook or someform of email program that does understand TNEF, than shouldn't the email and attachments show up properly?  It is my experience that they do not.  That is how I began thinking that it must be the mail server of the recipient that is causing this.
I tried setting the 1 user's outlook to send only plain text...I am waiting to hear the results, but they were already set to send in HTML only.  By my understanding is that TNEF is created only when RTF is used for outbound email, and HTML and Plain Text do not create TNEF...punch me if I'm wrong

  • Outlook 2007 error The form region DPOfcX

    Hi Guys,
When I open Outlook 2007 or open an e-mail I am getting the following error.
The form region “DPOfcX” cannot be opened.  The form region manifest specifies an add-in that is not installed.
I have check in the add-in there is no add-ins at all. I have check the exchange client extensions in there the add-in of nod32, exchange and SAP callender. in the disable add-in there is nothing.
When I start Outlook in safe mode the error don't show at all. What else I have done was to scan the computer with Spybot for malware. Nothing found. the computer is brand new got it on Saterday. When I search
the computer for the  DPOfcx do not get any results. I have check in system 32 files and syswow64
Any help I will be greatfull!
    regards,
    Gerrit

    Hi Gerrit,
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\FormRegions. Delete the registration for your entry for the MessageClass you are handling.
Removing an addin that way does not unregister it or its dependencies. You should uninstall or remove from Add/Remove Programs or Programs and Features in the Control Panel, or by re-running the installer
and selecting to remove the addin.
If the form region registration is created as part of the installation it should be removed by uninstalling. If it is created later after installation, say by code, you need code such as an installer custom
action to unregister the form region.
    Hope that helps.

  • Formatting for email sent to Outlook 2007 client

I'm sure you are aware of Microsoft's decision to start using
the html parser from Word 2007 to display html emails in Outlook
2007. As with so many other developers, this is causing the emails
I created with cfmail to fail.
The basic fix is to (pretty well) stop using CSS and go back
to tables. But, even at that, Word 2007 does not recognize many
common tags. In my case, the "wrap" command doesn't work for any
tag (such as "textarea") so all my fields will only stretch to the
right until all the data is displayed. This means the client can
not print out the form and see all the data.
Can someone give me an idea how to cause data to wrap in a
table or textarea field without the use of the "wrap" command? For
example, one field can hold 100 characters but the field is only 40
characters long on the web page. For printing, the data would wrap
and extend the field down the form to display all the data.
I hate it when companies "improve" there products by making
us take a step back in time.
    Thank you.

Dans code works for me but I am being told that my company may lock down utl_smtp and I am being "encouraged" to use APEX_MAIL instead. I have traded emails with Dan and he mentioned that APEX_MAIL works differently and that I needed to change the invite portion to an attachment. So I need to take my varchar2 with the invite text, write it to a file then attach that file.
    Thanks for responding.
