Outlook 2007 denied calendar access when shared by other outlook 2007 users....

i have exchange 2010 with latest sp. we use outlook 2013/2010/2007 on windows os's vista through 8.1. Calendar sharing via setting explicit permissions in outlook 2010/2013 works fine. in outlook, select calendars, right click calendar, set explicit permissions
for user you want to share calendar with to Free/busy/subject/location. works ok for 2010 and 2013. However Outlook 2007 client does same and the other outlook 2007 intended recipient gets "you dont have permission to access xxxx calendar. DO you want
to send a request?" WHen you send a request you are automatically granted "Reviewer" permission to the mailbox. Our staff dont want to give that much detail. Is this a bug or config error? I expected to set the permissions on a users calendar
to a mailgroup and share it using the free/busy/subject/location permission set. SO i was surprised to see this didn't work and generated the permission error + request permission email. any ideas would be appreciated.
The main reason to share this way is to avoid giving reviewer permission to everyone you share with.
Also please note that an Outlook 2013 user who uses the method above to set permissions for groups will have other outlook 2013 users view his calendar based on the permissions set. Outlook 2007 clients still get permission denied...do you want to request
permission...
After more testing I found that upgrading to outlook 2010 seems to work. I would prefer to avoid the cost of the upgrade if possible however it seems that Outlook 2010 works correctly and Outlook 2007 does not.

Hi,
My understanding is that no matter the calendar owner shares the calendar via Outlook 2013 or Outlook 2007, the Outlook 2007 recipient can't open the calendar and receive the message to send a request, am I correct? If yes, please let me explain.
In short, it is by design in Outlook 2007. In Outlook 2007 with Exchange 2007(and later), the "Free/Busy time" and "Free/Busy time, subject, location" permissions only apply when checking the user's free/busy information (for example,
when looking in the Scheduling tab of a meeting request) and not when looking in another user's Calendar folder.
To workaround this issue, when sharing the calendar in Outlook, please add "Folder visible". Thus the Outlook 2007 recipients should be able to open the shared calendar.

  • How can I "selectively" accept or reject calendar conflicts when synch blkbry to outlook?

When I synch my calendar details list those items that will be added - deleted - etc.  What if I only want to accept some of them?  Seems to be no option other then accept (all) or not.  HELP.

I can't seem to do this successfully. I use the GAL to select the room, but when I send out the meeting I immediately get an automated response back that the delivery failed. I heard this may be because the iPhone OS does not distinguish between a normal attendee and a resource. Yet you seem to have it working. What version of Exchange are you using. Is it on Mac or PC?  We are about to upgrade from Exchange 2003 to 2010, maybe that will help solve this?
Also, (this may just be semantics) on the iPhone under "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" the Exchange configuration is set to "on" to sync calendars. Is this the same as having the Exchange calendar "set as the default calendar" mentioned above?

  • How to export keynote to power point when sharing with other people

I had to manipulate a master's of someone else on keynote, record my slides and then post it to a discussion board, it kept removing my recording when I exported it to power point for presentation.  I could not do it and I tried everything renaming it with no characters.  Help!!!

PowerPoint does not support recorded presentations when exporting the recording is removed.
You will need to use a Keynote presentation without the recorded timings or usePowerPoint, Open Office or Libra Office to author a presentation with individual timings on each slide.

  • Excel 2007 cell color changes when copying to other docum. using clipboard

    Hi,
There is excel 2007 document which is generated by SAP. I think it contains
some VB macros and some grouping.
The problem is that if I select something from that document, copy that and
paste to another excel 2007 document - colors get inverted somehow - for
example white cell becomes red cell (backgroud color I mean), other
    background colors changes as well.
If I open this xlsx document using excel 2003 (it converts document using
compatibility pack) the issue is gone - I can copy contents to other excel
2003 document without losing any format info.
The problem is that our users all use office 2007.
What could couse this behaviour ?
    thanks in advance

    dear friend,
    you would do:
    1. search SAP Notes;
    2. check out the updates/patches for your MS Office;
    3. replicate it on another computer/another sap user (make sure it is a local issue)
    good luck!

  • When sharing WBs via plus I see all db accounts - which is what I dont want

    Hi all,
As stated in the subject title, when sharing WB's via plus, users can see the list of all database users in the share workbook payne. Is it possible to change this so that non-discoverer users can be removed from this list...I am particularly concerned that all default database accounts i.e. SYS, SYSTEM, SYSMAN, DBSNMP and so forth appear visible to anyone attempting to share a WB. What I would like to do is have only those accounts that have ben specifically created for my discoverer project to be able to be visible to a user who is sharing a WB. So far I have yet to establish if this can be do, hence why I am posting...
    Thanks in advance,
    Andrew

    Hi Rod
I don't believe this was ever implemented.
Andrew: I have used the ALL_USERS trick myself many times and it works just fine. If you want to filter out the system accounts, as Rod suggested, just create a new SYS view and a synonym for that view as part of each user's creation script. Here is one that I did recently:
When connected as SYS I created this view:
    CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW Z_ASC_ALL_USERS
    AS SELECT * FROM SYS.ALL_USERS
    WHERE SUBSTR(USERNAME,1,3) = SUBSTR(USER,1,3);
    I then issued this grant: GRANT SELECT ON Z_ASC_ALL_USERS TO PUBLIC;
I then created these synonyms for my SALES users:
    CREATE OR REPLACE SYNONYM SAL_ADMIN.ALL_USERS FOR SYS.Z_ASC_ALL_USERS;
    CREATE OR REPLACE SYNONYM SAL_USER.ALL_USERS FOR SYS.Z_ASC_ALL_USERS;
Of course you don't want this synonym being used for non-Discoverer users so don't create it for SYSTEM or any other non-Discoverer account.
What the above does is to let users only see other users whose accounts being with the same 3 characters as their account. Thus if either SAL_ADMIN or SAL_USER were trying to share a report the only user they will see in the list will be the other Sales user.
By the way, there is no need to filter roles as these are filtered by the database naturally thus preventing someone sharing a report with a role that they don't have.
    Best wishes

  • MF4150 duplex printing when shared

I love my MF4150 printer, especially the duplex printing. But when sharing to other Macs in the house, the "finishing" option is never available, thus no opportunity to print in duplex mode except from the directly connected computer. Has anyone overcome this limitation?
    Thanks!
    Chuck

    Hello Chuck,
As BDAqua suggested, you will have to install the same version of UFR2 driver on both machines. This is more so when the Mac's are running different versions of Mac OS X. Running the UFR2 installer on the 'client' will copy the PDE's (Print Dialog Extensions) onto the this Mac, which is the plugins that make the Finishing and Special Features options appear in the print menu.

re installed outlook 2007 on win7 laptop. outlook works fine except when I open icloud calendar, it says outlook stop working and restarts.
I can access the calendar on icloud.com and my ipad and iphone. I suspect there is a bad record on the calender.
as a last ditch effort I created a 2nd calendar and cant figure out how to copy info to it.
I have deleted and reinstalled outlook and icloud and the control center several times to no avail

    Update on problem
I created a 2nd calendar in Icloud and shared cal1 and cal2. setup my ipad and iphone to use cal2 as default.
by changing the cal setting on my ipad entries from 1 to 2 i was able to consolidate all entries on cal2, outlook could open cal2, all devices were sharing cal2 and life is good (NOT). as I was changing items from 1 to 2 outlook crashed and I was  never able to get to cal1 or cal2 on outlook.stlll works on ipad and iphone and I can go to cloud.com and both calendars were there and complete, just outlook cancels when I click on calendar icon.
today new itunes and icloud control came out.

  • Outlook 2010/13 Laptop Calendar access extremely slow after opening shared calendar

I have a problem with several laptops running Win 7 Ultimate on a network running SBS 2008 (Exch 2007) when they are on the internal network. Outlook response is fine until they tick any shared calendar (either shared by the user or with full access
to the mailbox granted at the server level)- the response of the calendar screen for the
local users calendar  or the shared calendar
when using the advance or retreat arrows on the weeks drops down to roughly 20 seconds to advance to the next week, if the shared calendar is then unticked the speed stays slow for accessing the local calendar. if the user exits outlook and restarts
it the speed for accessing their own calendar returns to normal until they open another shared calendar.
this is a problem that has started within the last couple of months. SP are up to date on the windows and office.
I have tried ticking the download shared folders on and off, and also switching to using HTTP instead of TCPIP through the outlook anywhere. they run in cached mode as they are laptops- uncached is not an option
    network access is fine
The problem affects some users on the network but not others. the problem shows on office 2010 and 2013. they don't appear to have the problem when they are out of the office.
    Any thoughts anyone?

If you run your profile in Exchange cache mode and enable "Download share folders", please try to run SCANPST file to fix the OST/PST file and check the result.

By the way, does it for all shared calendr when you go to access them?

  • Outlook 2010 painfully slow when sharing calendars

Hello - we are using Exchange Server 2003 with Outlook 2010 and one of the main admin assistants here shares MANY calendars.  When she tries to open other calendars that she has been granted full rights to, the calendar will sit there on her screen
and say "Busy" for up to five minutes before it provides her with the details of each calendar entry.  This is not an "every time" occurrence.  But it does happen most times.  And almost always there will be some type of significant delay.
Are there any settings on the Exchange server or within Outlook that could affect this?  My concern is that she may be opening up too many simultaneous calendars or a bunch of calendars that total too many simultaneous entries.
    Any thoughts?  HELP!!!!!!

     Hi,
Create a new profile to try if this issue fixed. No need to delete the old profile just yet, just make a new one to see if the problem is fixed.
If this fixes the problem, you can delete the old profile.
    Sincerely

  • After Outlook 2003 to 2007 upgrade, calendar no longer syncs properly

    Hi all,
I have a client that I have been troubleshooting iPhone/Outlook problems with and am stumped. After seeing online how many issues there are with Outlook information sync, I have tried everything to no avail so I thought I would ask for outside ideas.
My client had Outlook 2003 operating in an Exchange environment and everything was working perfectly synching his iPhone 3G to contacts and calendars within Outlook. Recently we upgraded to Office 2007. Now his iPhone sync does not update the calendar at all. It seems as though it does sync the old calendar information that was present in Outlook 2003 before the upgrade.
After much troubleshooting, I believe it may have something to do with the old Outlook 2003 calendar. I have tried deleting recurring appointments, backup and restore of the iPhone, and applying all software updates to both iTunes and Office.
When trying a restore of the iPhone, I opted to restore to factory settings and then leave the phone 'blank' and try sync of the calendar alone with the 'Replace all calendar info on the iPhone with Outlook calendar' option enabled. This resulted in a sync that did populate calendar data, but it did not match the data displayed on the calendar in Outlook 2007. It was as though it was synching the old calendar present before the Office suite was upgraded.
Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks for any help!
    Cheers.

I am having the same issue and the article you're suggesting only relates to a Mac operating system. Whereas I do own a Mac (Mac Mini & Macbook), this issue is occuring when I'm attempting to sync my iPhone with my calendar & contacts at the office.
I just recently upgraded to Office 2007 from Office 2003 and now when I try to sync, it seems to get stuck during the syncing of contacts. I am just an end user and my company does not support iPhone so there aren't any changes I can make to the exchange server, etc....
Please help!!!! I desperately need access to my updated calendar appointments.

  • Does anyone here access a shared calendar with their Blackberry???

I work for a very large company and I don't use my personal calendar. I use a calendar on a shared mailbox where several people enter appointments I need to attend. So far I have not been able to get a hold of anyone in our IT department who knows if it is possible to have my Blackberry synchronize with the shared calendar instead of my personal calendar. Surely other people must access a shared calendar with their BB. Doesn't seem like such an unusual thing to need to do. On my laptop I have access to both my personal and the shared calendar in Outlook. We run an Exchange Server and that is about the extent of info I have.

If she has been syncing her phone with iTunes she could restore her phone to her last backup.  This will revert the settings and data on her phone to those contained in the backup (losing more recent information).  You should probably unshare your iCloud calendar with her before beginning to avoid the possiblility of her restored calendar replacing yours.  Then, before connecting her phone, open iTunes on the computer she syncs with, go to Preferences and on the Devices tab check "Prevent...from syncing automatically".  Next, connect her phone and when it appears in iTunes on the left sidebar right-click on it and select Restore from Backup, taking care to choose her backup to restore from and not yours.  If this restores her calendar she should give it a unique name before trying to share your iCloud calenadar again.
If she syncs her calendar with a supported application on her computer (such as Outlook) another option would be to replace her iPhone calendar with the calendar on her computer by checking to do so on the Info tab of her iTunes sync settings (under Advanced>Replace information on this iPhone>check Calendars), apply and sync.

  • "Set of folders can not be opened. you must connect to microsoft exchange with current profile" geeting error while opening shared mailbox in outlook 2007

    Hello Folks,
I am having exchange sever 2007 SP3. currently facing issue with one shared mailbox. One of the user is not able to open that mailbox from outlook 2010.
I can able to add that mailbox in the outlook but while opening the outlook it is asking for password. Outlook is not accepting user password for that mailbox. I have removed that user from full access and added that user again.
Other shared mailbox is working fine with same outlook profile and other user can also able to access that problematic shared mailbox.
Can anyone tell how to troubleshoot..?
    Thanks, Chinmay.

    Hi,
How do you open the shared mailbox in Outlook?
Please remove the shared mailbox from your Outlook totally and follow the following steps to open it:
    1. Open Outlook, click File > Account Settings
    > Account Settings.
    2. Click Change and make sure Use Cached Exchange Mode is checked.
    3. Click More Settings > Advanced tab.
    4. Click Add next to Open these additional mailboxes and type the shared mailbox.
    5. Click Ok > OK. Then the shared mailbox would be listed under the Navigation Pane.
Alternatively, we can create a new Outlook profile in Outlook and setup the shared mailbox. If it is asking for credentials, we can use the user account who have full access permission to the shared mailbox for authentication.

  • Calendar appointments not quite showing in Outlook 2007

    Hi,
I'm syncing my calendar on my iPhone to Outlook 2007 via MobileMe. When I create an appointment on the iPhone, it will sync and I can see it in Outlook on the to do bar next to my email preview pane.
However, when I go to the calendar I don't see the appointment. I only have one calendar so I don't know where the appointments are going?
    Anyone got a solution?
    Many thanks

I have this same problem when syncing with my itouch. My appointments do not show when displaying day/week/month but do show when all appointments are viewed. I checked Microsoft Outlook 2007 support and they say the problem is with the new apple itunes update and that apple needs to fix it.

  • Issues with Outlook Email Calendar Option when MOSS Calendar

    Hi,
I am using the Outlook feature Email Calendar, to email the list of appointments, but have observed that it doesn't list the recurrent appointments in the selected dates, and shows an message that "The calendar you are saving does not contain any appointments
during the specified date range - " in case if no appointments, or else it will just miss the  recursive appointments.
You can see more details about this feature in the below link, as I said my issues is if any appointment that is repeating, is not populating/show in the list of events using this feature.
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-001/outlook-help/send-an-outlook-calendar-in-an-email-message-HA102840072.aspx
Can anyone suggest if we need to change or make any settings, to get the recurrent events.
Also, forgot to mention above that, this calendar is from SharePoint Calendar and gets sync.
Can someone please advice if I am missing anything or any change in settings?
    Here are some more details:
    Outlook 2013
    MOSS Version of SharePoint (2007)
If you have knowledge, let others light their candles in it.

Managing meeting requests from SharePoint does not work as you would think. See second paragraph
    here.
Your best bet is to use Outlook to send out meeting requests and synch these events back to SharePoint.
Even when you use Outlook to manage a meeting request and synch the meeting to SharePoint, you still come across issues, for example with meeting workspaces:
    1) Whenever a recurring event changes (a recurrence exception), the meeting workspace for the original recurring event gets orphaned.
    2) Changing attendees in Outlook doesn't always get updated in SharePoint.
If this helped you resolve your issue, please mark it Answered
