Outlook 2007 not synching

I recently got a new computer and upgraded to Windows 7/Outlook 2007. I finally got my Zire 71 to HotSync, but it's not really synching. My Outlook calendar is not transferring. Can anyone help with this?

  • Outlook 2007 contact synch problems with iCloud

Running into difficulties synching iCloud 1.0.1 contacts with Outlook 2007.  It freezes/crashes outlook quite regularly. The contacts properly synched the the first time but now I'm getting "Couldn't save changes to x items" when Outlook tries to synch with iCloud. The reason given for a particuliar contact is "got no rsrc name for msg?!".  If i try again, same message. The other option it to 'delete' which then deletes the contact(s) showing up in the error message from icloud folder in outlook but does not affect them in iCloud. I have no contacts in the default outlook folder. I am only using iCloud contacts on PC and iphone 4s.
The iCloud addin is enabled for Outlook. I removed "contacts with outlook" in the iCloud control panel and re-enabled but this did not fix the problem.
Any suggestions? I've searched for this error message apple's support but do not find any matches.
    Thanks,
    Rick

OK, I bit the bullet and manually did the only "work around" that I could come up with. When the message, "got no rsrc name for msg?!" comes up I manually noted the 10 contacts at a time from Outlook that were giving problems and choose the only option which did something - I choose the "delete" button. It deletes those 10 contacts from Outlook's iCloud.  Taking note of which ones i deleted, then, using my iphone - I located those contacts in the iCloud (as it doesn't delete them from the cloud, but neither are then in Outlook) and made a small modification to each one - e.g. adding a period in the note field, saved and exited the contact. Then I went back to Outlook and refreshed from the iCloud. Sometimes you have to wait 3-4 mintues for the update to come through. If you get a message about a new batch of 10 contacts that have synch error problems, you will need to "X" out and close the dialog box. Sometimes only a few of the modified contacts come through and you need to go back to the cloud via phone a modify those straggler contacts again (adding another period, etc.)
Once all the previously deleted contacts come back into Outlook's iCloud folder, check them off your list as complete. Refresh iCloud on Outlook (mine has a button for this at the top of Outlook bar). You should get your next batch of 10 conflicts.  Go thru the WHOLE process for ALL of your Outlook contacts.
I am pleased to say this consumed half of my Saturday doing this incredibly boring and tedious workaround for an obvious bug.  I had about 250 contacts. I pity anyone that has 500+ contacts...you many as well throw the PoS phone out and go with an android.
Problem fixed, no more Outlook crashing/hanging or contact synch 'errors'.
    all the best....

  • Icloud and outlook 2007 not communicating any longer

I just noticed today that entries I made on my iphone (3gs using IOS6) are no longer showing up on my outlook 2007. (PC using vista 64)  the icloud calendar is not checked on outlook and when I check it to bring up my icloud calendar it says, "The set of folders cannot be opened. The information store could not be opened."  I try to get on the icloud control panel (I upgraded it several days ago to the icloud 2) and it says, "Repair the icloud control panel to use icloud with outlook"  I have repaired it over a dozen times now.  I have done a repair of my outlook.  I have taken icloud off and then reinstalled it to have it tell me the same thing.  I'm at wits end.  This was working three days ago, but now its as if they don't see each other.  If this has already been discussed, I apologize.  I did do a quick search and did not see anything that would help.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Yes it is elsewhere, however I have a Vista 32-bit that doesn't work and a Windows/7 64bit that doesn't work.  I think it's just generally "bad code" and OBVIOUSLY the person that was supposed to test it didn't.  I can't uninstall on my Vista machine because it will break all my Contacts and Calendar sharing too.  Therefore, for now, I guess I will just have to give up on sharing pictures until they get it fixed.
Which, BTW, has been an AWFULLY LONG TIME already.  I installed v2 over a week ago and Apple hasn't even acknowledged anywhere I've seen that they have an issue.
'Bout time to start sending emails to the press:  Maybe they can goad Apple into doing something.

  • Outlook 2007 not opening after Windows Vista Update 25-Aug-09 [Qosmio G50]

I thought that posting my experience just now might be helpful to others.
Yesterday (25-Aug-2009) my Outlook 2007 was working perfectly. I had downloaded & installed Outlook Connector 12.1 because I'd received an e-mail from Microsoft to say that the DAV protocol used for HTTP mail would be withdrawn on 1-Sep-09. I also noticed that MS had restored the POP3 service that they closed down a couple of years ago.
So I set up the POP3 account and started working with that. All OK.
Last night when I closed down, Windows Update came in and completed on reboot this morning. Outlook 2007 wouldn't start, coming up with the message: +Cannot Start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook Window. The set of folders cannot be opened. The information store could not be opened.+.
Nothing I did in that environment would enable Outlook 2007 to load, I created a new profile and that did no good.
So I went back to the System Restore Point made at the time of installing the Outlook Connector and everything sprang to life.
I had also tried the restore point that undid the Windows Update, but that didn't cure the problem either.
So, I'll see what happens when I reboot next time in case it had nothing to do with Windows Update.
    Cheers

There are many tools at the Inet, but no one of them weren't interested me, when I seeking for the solution of my trouble. Only my friend by chance offered me an one long-standing application. It enjoyed me for seconds, I presented my friend a gift and to my mind it would help in such problem also - pst email recovery.

  • Calendar+iCloud to Outlook 2007 - not supported calendar message . ics

    Consider this
    Two new macs
    1. MacA set up with iCLoud to sync Calendars
    2. MacB set up not to use iCloud
Test on MacA (my Wifes) used for her work, across iPhone, iMac, MBP
Send invite from Calendar on the Mac to my work address  [email protected] and reciever on Outlook 2007 from MacA
gets Name has invited you to <Event Namre> but the attached .ics enty
has name "not supported calendar message.ics"
The attached body coantains a web page screen shot to interact with icloud
In additaion the reply address is [email protected] and an unintelligble email address
This mac has iCloud as the account in Calendar
Test on MacB used for fun - not connected to any work
Send invite from Calendar onthe Mac  to my work address  [email protected] from MacB
gets Event invitation <Event Name> and  the attached .ics enty
works as expected. Accept the invite and it gets put in your Outlook calendar as you would expert
Right reply address, right behavior on reply.
Ths imac has calander accounts to use gmail.
I kind of get why. But is there anyway solve the issue with with MacA.
My wife's invites for her work will not behave correctly to whoever her clients are.
But I want iCloud to sync Calendars - and send invites properly not add all the iCloud functionality over the top

  • Outlook 2007 not updating from ical feed

I have removed and re-added the iCal feed multiple times.
When I click on a link to the feed it downloads and can open in outlook 2007 (SP3 MSO) but this does not automatically update
I have run; 1) Scanpst, 2) The original Install CD Office repair tool. I still cannot get the iCal feed to update automatically. Is there another tool I can use?  I have two feeds I want to use. Neither is working (one the feeds has worked
    previously).

    Hi,
Did you tick "Update this subscription with the publisher's recommendation..." when adding the calendar?
Please also set the Send/Receive group to let it send/receive more frequently to check the result.

  • Outlook 2007 not working

For years I have used outlook 2007 for downloading my email from my btopenworld.com account.  Today it seems to be not accepting my username and password and I keep getting send/receive errors.  I have tried deleting the account from outlook and setting it up again using the POP3 settings I found on this site but it is still not working.  Can anyone help me please?
The server information is POP3 and mail.btinternet.com for incoming and outgoing.  my username is the same as my email address, so [email protected] and the box to require logon using SPA is not ticked.
    Thanks
    Solved!

Have you tried using @btinternet.com instead? They are interchangable, so you can still get mail from your @btopenworld.com if you use @btinternet.com.

  • Outlook 2007 not working, internet connection is fine

I installed an airport extreme yesterday and my internet connection is up and running on all PC's and an IMac. However, I can't seem to get my Outlook 2007 connected to my ISP. All my ISP incoming and outgoing server names are correct. Should I change the advanced settings for server port numbers? They are 110 (incoming) and 25 (outgoing)?
As you all know, being w/o email is a bxxxh.

    Lyle,
Ok, so we know the issue is not related to the base station, but the email account.
I know it sounds silly, but make sure you are on YOUR wireless network (click Airport icon in menu bar and make sure your network name is selected). If you are on another network, RoadRunner may block you from using their SMTP (outgoing) mail server.
Once you're sure on your network, re-create the account with settings you get from your ISP. Find out if the 'username' they want for the incoming server is your full email address or just the part before the @ symbol (e.g. bobsmith or [email protected]), whether they use SSL encryption and odd port numbers. Ports 110 and 25 are common settings for POP & SMTP servers, respectively.

  • Outlook Email not synching with handheld

I just set up my new BB handheld and even set up hotmai on outlook on my PC at home, so I could synch contacts, calendar and emails more diligently than an internet web browser based email... but my emails are not synching!! arrgggh its painful to keep cleaning out inbox 2 times and also have FB messages going to my hotmail bec FB on my handheld is not showing me new messages.. pls help!!!

    Hello,
If you configured your BB to receive email OTA, then there is no direct relationship between your BB and your Outlook client for email. Rather, each will reconcile independently against the email server according to whatever capabilities they have to do so. The BB reconciliation capabilities will be governed by this KB. Outlook reconciliation capabilities will be governed by Outlook.
For your FB issue, check inside of the FB options and make sure that you have checked the box that connects it to your BB Messages app.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Outlook 2007 not syncing with my new Centro

Just got a Cento to replace my Tungsten E.  Where I work, we are not able to install our own software, so a tech comes on remotely, logs admin rights on to my computer and installs the software.  They helped me install the software, it sets up fine, and both the computer and the device think they are syncing with my Outlook 2007, but no data transfers in either direction.  I called Palm, and they told me to install and reinstall the software, which the techs helped me to do, but still no sync data moves with sync.
Called Palm back and now they want me to get my own admin rights to install the software under my own login.  This may be a challenge, and will take several days to accomplish if at all.
Questions are:  Will this actually solve the problem?  It does not make sense to me.  Also, and more importantly, is there another way to fix this problem?  I run Windows XP and Outlook 2007.  Brand new Centro with latest Palm software.  I would really like this solved, as I really need to use this PDA for my work.
Thanks to whomever can help me!!
    Post relates to: Centro (Verizon)

I assume you are trying to sync locally and not with an exchange server.
If you have Palm desktop 6.2, this includes the Outlook 2007 conduits. If you have not tried this, Go to start-programs-palm-pimconduit sync and change the sync to Outlook. In hotsync manager, look beside the conduits and see if it says Outlook.
You typically need to install Palm desktop under your user logon with admin rights, as stated by the previous techs. If the admin logs on and installs under that persons logon, only that person will be able to use Palm desktop and Outlook with their logon.

  • Outlook 2007 not showing replies or forward from iPhone

When mail is sent from the iPhone it does not show as forwarded or replied in Outlook 2007. It will show read, but not that actions have occured. Any suggestions?

I am using Microsoft Exchange 2003 wiht up to date service packs. I have no issues with seeing sent items. Those do show up in the sent items folder on the server. My issue is that I can not see that an action took place for a mail answered from my iPhone. For instacne, if I reply to and message via the iPhone it saves a copy of hte sent item, but does not mark the message in the inbox as relied to. Therefore loosing the integerity of the conversation as complete. While the message in the inbox shows it has been read and the there is a peplied message in the sent folders, the original message is not marked as replied or forwared.

  • Outlook 2013 Not Synching Folders

    Hi all,
I am having an issue with Outlook 2013.
It seems that for some reason it will not recognize my Username and password for Synching folders.
It works for sending and receiving messages, but when it tries to synch folders it comes back as wrong.
How can this be possible, doesn't it use the same UN/ PW for sending/ receiving as synching??
    Thanks in advance.

    PS: Moved to general forum

    Hi,
I suggest you remove Outlook credentials from Credentials Manager in Windows, then re-type your password to check if this issue persists:
    1. Exit Microsoft Office.
    2. Go to Control Panel.
    3. Click User Accounts.
    4. Click Credential Manager. In the Generic Credentials
section, you should see one or more credentials listed. You're looking for credentials that begins
    MS.Outlook.
    5. For each credential that begins with MS.Outlook,
        A. Click the details button (circle with a downward arrow next to the
    Modified date).
        B. Click Remove from vault.
    6. Repeat steps 5A & 5B for each credential that begins MS.Outlook.
I hope this helps. If it doesn't, delete the account and setup the account again to check the result.

  • Outlook 2003 not synching calendar

Everytime I try to synch my calendar I get the following message:-
OutlookSyncClient has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
I have read the other posts, and I've re-installed iTunes, and checked that the iTunes Outlook Addin is checked, but to no avail.
I tried reverting back to iTunes 7.5 but that didn't work either, so I went back to the latest release.
I've also tried resetting the sync history, which also hasn't worked?
Does anyone think Apple will fix this anytime soon? I use the iPhone as a PIM, and right now its useless in that regard. I'm synchronizing only my calendar (work PC - Microsoft exchange). Everything else is synch'd using my mac at home.
Seemed to work fine before the recent 7.6.1 upgrade.

Ok. I eventually worked out how this exchange server thing works, but it's still not fixed my issues.
I understand now, that an OST file exists on my local machine, and that periodically gets synchronized with the exchange server.
I have run the SCANOST tool on my machine, and let it do everything, not just my calendar.
So I should now have a functional local OST file. I have no PST files. i.e. I don't have any local archives etc. and iTunes only has "Sync Calendars with : Outlook", there are no multiple calendars to chose from... so its All Calendars only.
So I try to synchronize my iPhone, and it still crashes with the "OutlookSyncClient has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
I really am stumped now. I can't see how I can get this to work. One might say... I have a syncing feeling. (except its not syncing...)
Come on Apple... This used to work.

  • Outlook Calendar Not Synching

    Hello,
This has been an ongoing problem with the iPhone. Some of the calendar items synch (at least some of the one time occurrence items) and almost consistenly none of the recurring items seem to synch.
We have tried deleting an event and then recreating it (shut down Outlook and reboot was done too) to no avail.
We have looked over the article at this URL:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305845
Followed all of its instructions and still have the same problem. Been working on this now for almost 6 hours with researches, updates, reboots, etc.
What in the world is going on with this synch issue? Feel like its time to bill M$ and Apple for my time as a business person. This unit may work just fine for young kids for music, videos and what not, but it does not seem to be ready for prime time for the business community.
We do have Outlook 2003, Windows XP SP2, iPhone Version 1.1.1, and iTunes version 7.4.3.1., 1 GB of RAM, 120GB HD, Acer Laptop that isn't even one year old.
Anyone have any luck with this issue since it seems to have its own article link and discussion?
    Thanks.

    Hello,
I was going through the postings and found an answer to the Synch problem that I sbelieve needs to be spread around since so many others have the same problem with Outlook.
If you think about it and are familiar with database and indexes, it makes all the sense in the world.
Here are the procedures, which I think needs to include going through the response from Apple mentioned earlier in this discussion. You can read the details directly at this discussion topic:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1123329&start=0&tstart=15
