Outlook 2007 pst files

How do I share my Outlook pst files?

MS Outlook has many unknown facilities. And once I used one of them. Unfortunately something happened with my program. Only this morning I perhaps dug up the probability decision. It is able to help in this situation too in my view - the .pst file has a different format.

  • Unable to sync Outlook 2007 .pst file to iPhone 3GS

    Hi,
I´ve been troubleshooting my problem for over a week now and getting exhausted with it.
I have gotten some results leading to what the problem is and I will try to explain in a easy way below.
I´m running Vista with iTunes 9.0.1.
The problem started when I bought a new laptop and I used Windows Back up to transfer all my files to the new computer.
So few days later I was syncing my computer with Outlook 2007 like I have been doing without problems on my previous laptop and I noticed that no new data was being transferred to the iPhone and back to the Outlook.
I started Troubleshooting by reading your Discussion forum and found few methods to try.
    - Reset Sync History
and all the basic stuff that I cannot list here as I will now tell you what I have found out.
I created a new user account (Guest account)on the computer and a new email account user in outlook 2007. That creates a new .pst file for Outlook. I started Outlook and put in some contacts and few calendar items for me to sync with iTunes. I started iTunes and no problem syncing from the Guest Account.
Ok I have isolated the problem to the .pst file from my original account. Now what I could do it make a copy of my .pst file and copy that onto my USB drive and transfer it to the Guest account and add it to the Outlook Personal Folder and the problem would be solved.
I did so and of course it didn´t work.
So I tried the other way around to take the new .pst file and copy that and install that on my original account to see if it would be able to sync there and that wouldn´t work either, the iPhone looses all Calendar and Contacts when being synced in my original account.
I looks to me as iTunes on my original account is reading some .pst file that is blank and I don´t seem to know where it is as I´ve used "Search" to look for any additional .pst fines on my computer without any being found.
    Any thoughts on this issue.

You've narrowed it down to your pst file, and the most likely explanation is that it is corrupted or has a bad record in it. This was a common problem a while ago when the phone first came out; I've seen it mentioned much less since. Usually the bad record is a contact; open Contacts in Outlook and check the first few entries; this is usually where Outlook displays bad records. Open each of them, make a change, and save it.
Another option is to export the PST file using Outlook, then import the exported file (as a new PST). This usually fixes corrupt files.

  • How do I tell iTunes where to find my default Outlook 2013 pst file?

How do I tell iTunes where to find my default Outlook 2013 pst file - I do not use the default location and I am not using Exchange?

Basically now what you will have to do is clear your library, and then re-add the music from the external drive (File menu, "Add folder to library").
For future reference though, the best way to handle this situation would have been to first create a "Music" folder on the external drive, set that as the default music folder (Edit menu, Preferences, the General sub-tab under the Advanced tab), and then use the Advanced menu "Consolidate Library" option. This would have copied all your iTunes music to your external drive and re-linked iTunes to that location for each of the songs. Then all you would have had to do is delete the song files off the computer's hard drive, and it wouldn't have had any effect on the iTunes library.

Make use of Exchange OST Recovery Tool
Hi, I would like to suggest you to make use of Exchange OST Recovery Tool. This software easily recovers the data from orphan OST files and saves them in PST file format. The PST file can be easily viewed using Microsoft Outlook email client application.
You must prefer this software also because this is absolutely free.

  • Convert client Outlook 2007 .ost to Outlook 2007 .pst

I apologize up front as I know through reading and general experience that this problem has probably been asked every which way a million times. I have looked through the Exchange General faq2 listing and did not find it defined as such however.
My immediate need issue is this, I have a small network of five clients with Office 2007 on a new SBS2008 server domain.
Unfortunately Three months elapsed between the time service contract was signed and original installation. While setting up server backup for first time, problems with original install were noted and then backup trashed the data storage drive while initializing for first time. Great fun ensued and to the point, the server crashed  and was reloaded and reinstalled onsite. The data on the storage drive was reinstalled from a recovery software USB drive.
The core issue in short is that clients HW/general software did not change, but server/ domain/ client ID'/ client profiles/ exchange server ect... did.
Now all clients have been rejoined to the "New" server and all is well, past that point including the darned 2008 backup. But I have a severe problem of having on each client computer three months of outlook 2007 offline mail items on a ghost profile I can not access due to it being on a ghost domain. It's all there as it was the day the server crashed, but totally inaccessible to my knowledge.
The exchange server does not see the mail as it never received it,  so any of the known to me Microsoft outlook .pst/ost repair tools would not work as their is nothing to fix as far as they would know from the exchange servers poiont of view.
I need something to go in and convert the old Outlook Offline .ost files to .pst files so they can be read by the current profiles outlook installation and the individual mail items, calendars, ect… simply migrated over to the new profiles offline file.
I have complete access to the files needing conversion and can take ownership but lack any working tool to convert the .ost files to something readable to the current Outlook / Exchange profiles.
There is tonnage of software to do this. But it costs an arm and a leg and i am just trying to see if their is another Microsoft way of doing this.
P.S. if not, their needs to be! Orphaned .ost files happen a lot for a lot of reasons.

Google OST2PST.  Maybe it'll work for you.

  • Outlook 2007 .ost file corrupt / scanpst.exe 3-4x daily & 3 to 4 runs before "clean", long term issue - need help on how to repair my .OST FILE once and for all, please...

I've had many issues with my .ost data file (couple years) with:  very slow going into outlook 2007, scanpst.exe 3-4x before its "clean", and have to run it few times daily.
No major issues i can pinpoint, but just SLOW, hangs at times, file less than 1GB, IT people just mess it up more, etc.
NEED some PROFESSIONAL minds to help me get this data file cleaned up once and for all... forever hopefully.
    Any help greatly appreciated.

Why the need to repair it?
    You could:
    1. Create a new Outook profile a different name and a new ost will be created ( leaving the old one there)
    2. Close up Outlook completely, delete the existing.ost and re-open Outlook to create a new one.
    3. Close Outlook completely and rename the existing .ost and re-open Outlook to create a new one.

  • How do I import my Outlook 2013 PST file into Office 365 and then have them permanently synced?

I have Office 365. I have Outlook 2013 downloaded on my computer with all my emails and contacts, etc.
I want to import the entire PST file with my emails, contacts etc. into Office 365 / Exchange Online (cloud?). Once that is done, I want to set it up so that my Desktop Outlook will always update and sync with my Office 365 when I am out of the office and
    use the Outlook mail App.
    PLEASE HELP!

    Hi,
You can also use Outlook or Outlook Web App to import your existing PST file into your Office 365 account.
First configure your Office 365 account into Outlook, then use Import/Export
feature in Outlook client to import your PST file:

  • How do i migrate outlook email .pst files

Just switched from pc to mac. I need to migrate my .pst outlook email files to mail in mac.
    how do I do that?

The simplest way is to open a MobileMe or Google Apps account and sync the info across the divide.
Almost as simple is LittleMachines O2M which will convert the pst into files that iCal/Address Book and Mail can read.
If you are looking for a free solution, have plenty of time and a tolerance for frustration you can try exporting Outlooks contacts to a txt file, then use one of the free converters to get it into Mbox format and import that into mail, for calendars there are some utilities that claim to be able to do the same for iCal but I have never seen one of them actually work without creating more work tidying up. Emailchemy will move the mail to MacMail very well (but it's not free, cheap)
Unless you know what you are doing and have time and patience to spare choose option 1 (sync) or 2 (O2M), I have tried the free way and am glad that I do not own a firearm.
PS: if your email is Imap or Exchange but not POP it will not need to be exported/imported, connecting to the account will bring it back 'as-was'

  • Ovi Suite truncated Outlook 2007 PST!!! please be ...

Today morning when I turned on my PC, Nokia PC Suite asked me to install a software update and I agreed to download I think updates always are a good thing. BUTTTTTTTTT........ After the update I sync Outlook calendar and tasks plus contacts and for my surprise now I open outlook and experience 2 BIG PROBLEMS. I have all my birthdays entries changed one day before the day it is really loaded in contact details. and worse of all all my task have been reaped off, I enter them and see them with typographic changed, all of them have lose the format and are incomplete the content is truncated! incomplete, unusable!
PST repair tool won't help, ovi suite had made permanent changes to the file even when I have selected that when conflict occurs, outlook data overcomes phone.
I'm completely dissapointed, tryed everything even uninstalling product of course and nothing give's me back my outlook and my whole life organizer indeed! I think nokia should test this kind of products better before destroying data like this !
    I'm angry, yes I'am!.
I will have to return to a saturday backup and lose all the huge data entered till now!
bad work boys, I will keep using pcsuite that worked well. And I will suggest to other people never, NEVER make an update from nokia anymore. not at least making a full computer backup wich is ridiculous! just to sync a few items from a mail program that has so much years in the market and is very well known.
I Hope other people may be more wise than me and check this forum before ruining his outlook datafile.

I experienced virtually the identical problem using OVI 2.0 to sync with MS Outlook Contacts as mikaelgreen.   I have over 1500 contacts in MS Outlook 2003, many with Note fields exceeding 300 characters.  After syncing with OVI 2.0, all the contacts with longer note fields had been truncated back to between 224 and 267 characters.
But worse, when OVI 2.0 sync'd back to the Outlook database, it updated all the note fields in my original Outlook Contacts database on my PC with the truncated note fields.  Really bad.
It is one thing for new software not to work perfectly ... that is understandable.  But for released, non-beta software to destroy data in another program ... that is simply irresponsible and incompetent on the part of the OVI 2.0 development team.  Fortunately I had backed up my Outlook database before installing OVI 2.0!  But several more trusting users may not have done that, and thus may have had years of data destroyed because the OVI 2.0 developers did not bother to test the syncing process properly.
Phone: Nokia 5800 XpressMusic RM 428 (firmware 31.2.101)
    Computer: Dell SX-270, 2GB RAM, Windows XP SP3, MS Outlook 2003 (11.8313.8221) SP3
I deleted OVI 2.0 and installed Nokia PC Suite 7.1.40.1, which seems to sync perfectly well ... no truncated note fields.
This is an important issue for Nokia if they hope to make a headway in the smartphone market in the USA (where they have virtually no presence). If users feel that they cannot trust Nokia/Symbian to be careful with their data (and honestly, after this experience, I don't think they can be trusted), they will not buy.  With this kind of "kindergarten" testing effort they demonstrated with OVI 2.0, Nokia/Symbian is rapidly building negative rather than positive "buzz".  For me (a mostly business-oriented user), before I found the alternated PC Suite 7 syncing solution, I was actively looking to abandon my newly purchased 5800 for something not Nokia ... e.g., go back to Blackberry, or try Android, WebOS, etc.  And frankly, I may still do so.

  • How can I convert an outlook pst file to mac mail without using a windows based computer

I recently bought the new iMac as my older Windows based computer crashed with a bad motherboard.  I have been trying to find a way to convert Outlook 2007 pst files to Mac Mail without the need to use a Windows based computer since all I have now is a Mac.  I have the copies of the pst files on my Mac, so I am looking for the most efficient way to convert them to the format that I can then open them in the Mac Mail.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi - thanks for the instructions but where do you get the option for Quicktime. If I do File - Export I only get the options for File name, place and size but no option that allows to select quicktime:-(
Have you got any more tips?

  • How do I upload my contacts, calendar and notes from outlook 2007 to my new iPad with retina display

I just cleaned up my outlook 2007 contact files.
I have an iPhone 5, a new iPad with retina display, and a PC, which is where the outlook program is.
I also have an iCloud account
How do I get the contacts, calendar and notes from outlook to any of these devices, so I can have one synced contact file on all three devices?
I'm sure I am not the first one asking about this but I am new to Apple, and loving it.

With your device connected and iTunes open, navigate to the 'info' tab and scroll down. You'll see the option to sync contacts and such from outlook.

  • How to convert Outlook Express6 messages to Outlook 2007

I down loaded the .dbx file form the laptop (XP)with OE6 to a file and installed that file on the Win7 desktop with Outlook 07. I have not been able to import the messages to Outlook 07. I did ask this a week ago and got a responce from Hal but it's not
in "My Threads". Thanks for any help.

    Hi,
I have met this issue before and I solved it by this method.
I downloaded DBXconv and saved it into a directory with a copy of my Outlook Express mailbox files. I ran the following command to extract the messages into .eml format.
    dbxconv -eml *.dbx
The utility quickly created a folder for each of my .dbx files and created an .eml file for each of my messages. I was then able to import the files into Outlook 2007 by:
    1) Dragging the .eml files into Windows Mail
    2) Exporting the messages from Windows Mail
    3) In Outlook 2007, Selecting File – Import and Export – Import Internet Mail and Addresses
    4) Select Outlook Express 4.x, 5.x, 6.x or Windows Mail
    5) Check the Import Mail and Import Address book boxes and press
    Next
    6) In the Import Addresses window you can set how you want duplicates to be handled – Select the option and click
    Finish
In addition, I find this KB article on Microsoft.com, it also introduces how to import Outlook Express messages into outlook 2007.

What would be the easiest way to copy contacts from a Microsoft Outlook 2003 .pst file to iCloud, of not by synchronizing?
I am able to open the file with Microsoft Outlook 2003 and see, change and add the contacts. Synchronizing does not work.

    Hello Mr. Churchill,
I'm hoping you could help me based on your suggestion for Howard919.  I downloaded my Yahoo contacts into a vCard but then it would not upload into icloud.com.  I keep getting error messages. Could you please help me?

  • Outlook 2007 iCloud Add-In

I was completing my syncronization setup between iCloud and Outlook 2007.  I noticed I don't have the iCloud Add-In showing as a selection in the add-in section under Trust Center.  Curious if anyone knows where to obtain and how to install so I can complete the sync process.

Please do not tell me to go to Trust Center and activate the iCloud addin. It's not there.
This is a clean Windows 7 Ultimate install with a clean MS Office 2007 install. I setup a basic POP account and added only one contact and one appointment for test purposes. Then I installed iCloud. iCloud did not install an Outlook addin.
    Yes I uninstalled and reinstalled.
I don't have a system restore point to use because the entire PC is a clean install and this is the first iCloud install.
I even deleted the mail profile and started over, still no joy.
Does anyone know the name of the iCloud Outlook 2007 addin file? If not the file name, what name is listed in Trust Center?
If I know the name of the iCloud addin file and can locate it I can probably figure out how to force it to install.
Many of us have this issue but no one seems to have an answer. I am trying to figure it out but need some help from someone that has it working.
