Outlook 2007 with Vista 64bit

I'm curious if anyone else is having the same Outlook 2007 with their workstation?
Symptoms:
Sometimes, takes a while to load. will display "(Not Responding)" if fiddled with
Reading pane will sometimes blank grey, or simply display as a single bar with nothing in the pane.
Sometimes, will not send mail (although the settings have been tested to nausea, will send sometimes)
Sometimes, Send/Receive will stall and not recover.
Got the latest service pack. Reloaded the software. Tried the Office diagnostic utility. - not fixed.  If anyone would recommend their favorite office help site, that would be nice too.

For me, it turns out that the solution was to wait for Microsoft to come out with a fix.
Solution: Suffer and wait for Microsoft to eventually release an update that works.
Please also be aware that there are several add-ins that conflict with Outlook 2007.
Take a look at Tools > Trust Center... > Add-Ins. Google any non-Microsoft items to see if there's an issue
Here's a couple of sites that has a few good tips.

  • Newbie- Sync with Outlook 2007 on Vista Ultimate

    Hi,
I have a user having trouble when synchronizing his BB 8300 with Outlook 2007. Everything used to worked fine, but by now it seems like after sync he looses changes made on the BB's calendar or the Outlook. I mean, that it does not keep the last changes ....
    Any clues ?
    thanks in advance,

Thanks for your reply. Additional question: I syc my treo 600 to my home outlook 2007 on Vista. However I sync my treo 600 to my desktop on my office laptop. If I download the outlook 2007 conduit on my home PC what will happy to the desktop version on my laptop. Will I still be able to sync and use it on the desktop? The reason I ask is because one of the points mentioned in the procedure is if you use the desktop then do not download the conduit.  Is the conduit for the treo or the PC? Can I download the conduit to my home pc and not affect the laptop desktop?
    Thanks

  • Sync Centro690P (Verizon) with Outlook 2007 on Vista

Three days ago my old Ipaq PDA died so I decided to get a PDA/phone so I have only one device to carry around. I picked up a Centro690P at the Verizon store.  I have 123 contacts in Outlook 2007 (Windows Vista) as well as lots of appointments and wanted to sync all my old info from Outlook onto the Centro.  After trying to follow the directions it wouldn't sync. I called Palm Support. We were able to get it to sync to the Palm desktop but not to Outlook and I was advised to check Microsoft for an Outlook update.  I downloaded all the software from Palm and Outlook websites and made sure the conduit was set to sync with Outlook. It still won't sync.  I've tried many things including soft and hard resets, a new user name, re-loading the software, and nothing works.  Hot Sync is indicating that the session was completed successfully on the PC and the device, but nothing sync'd. It's like the it's going through the motions, but the computer is not seeing the device.
I'm not sure if this is a problem with the Centro or Vista.  After three days of not being able to check my appointments or contacts I'm pretty stressed. What good is a PDA that doesn't sync?  How could I easily sync and antique Ipaq (with no tech support) but not a brand new Centro? After looking over this forum, my future happiness with the Centro doesn't look that great.  I have 30 days to try out the Centro. After four days I'm ready to take it back.

    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

It looks like I have two options: return the Centro to the Verizon store (since I've had it for less than 30 days)(preferred). Or use Palm Desktop and start over with no contacts or calendar (pain-in-the-neck).
The only problem is that I was so sure I would like the Centro I spent about $65 on accessories,...........  and there's a $35 re-stocking fee for returns,...........  and of course I lost the stylus..................
    (sheesh)
There are a number of other things about the Centro that are bad.  Like a bad design that requires me to push a button to unlock the keyguard every time I turn it on.  Like voice-calling not working when I use the hands-free device.  Like not having a "back" button. Etc.
    Palm management, are you listening?

  • How can i sync my calendar in Outlook 2007 with iTunes 11.1.3.8 WITHOUT using iCloud?

How can i sync my calendar in Outlook 2007 with iTunes 11.1.3.8 WITHOUT using iCloud?

your link shows how to sync, i know how to do that.
i specifically wanted to sync my outlook calendar with my phone, not my outlook calendar with icloud calendar.
apparently you have to go into setup on phone and tell phone not to sync calendars with icloud so you can get choice to sync phone via itunes.
    thanks anyways for trying.

  • I've been using Windows 7 64bit with Vista 64bit drivers. Driver upgrade?

I have been using Windows 7 pro 64 on my intel iMac (supported under new bootcamp conditions) with Vista 64bit drivers. I used the following command to pull the drivers off my snow leopard disk:
    D:
    cd “Boot Camp\Drivers\Apple”
    msiexec /i BootCamp64.msi
This has been working fine although I am running into problems as alot of applications think I am actually running Vista 64. I now want to use the official Windows 7 drivers. I cannot install bootcamp 3.1. I run it, restart as prompted and still end with 3.0 and apple update telling me to upgrade to 3.1.
Will I be able to simply upgrade my drivers if I get bc 3.1 installed and why can't I do so?
    Any help very much appriciated

I suspect the applications you are running aren't Windows 7 aware.
Apple's drivers are just motherboard related and don't affect Windows.
Plus, most Vista drivers are fine and you will see "Vista/7" for many like RealTek and others. You just need to be sure to use 64-bit drivers.
There are "tons" of threads on BC 3.1 and trouble installing and upgrading - whether to uninstall 2.x first and then go to 3.0 (req'd before 3.1).
I'd say 2.x as well as 3.0 are not Windows 7 compatible according to Microsoft as well as Apple's statements to that effect.

  • Please Help... Sync BB8900 with Outlook 2007 and Vista.

I have trawled the web looking for an answer to this question and can't find any answers, please can somebody help me !!!
I have owned my 8900 Curve for about 2 months and love it, I used to sync it with my old computer running Windows XP and Outlook 2007 and had no problems.Unfortunately that computer died and I have upgraded to a new PC unning Windows Vista, my problem is this... When I try to set up the sync options for my calendar, contacts etc I don't get the option to sync it with Outlook, I only get the option to sync it with
    1... ASC II Importer/exporter
    2...Yahoo.
I rely heavily on my BB being up to date and without this function may as well go back to my old PDA.
I have tried re-installing Desktop Manager a few times and even downloading older versions of it to see if this fixes my problem, all to no avail.
    Please,Please can somebody help.
    Thank You In Advance.

    Hi,
By the "media control" I take it your were referring to the Vizkids Post, suggesting the mediad manager not be installed?
I didn't say that, I agree with it, but I didn't say it.

A friendly tip as this is your first thread, The User who suggested that has 4 more posts than you. He is new to the forum as well.
What worked for his problem, might not work for yours, in this case it wouldn't have affected it at all. When you get stuck or need some
research go to the upper left hand corner where the grey search box is. Type on keyword for your problem, I would put vista outlook 2007
desktop, to start. You will see the history of the problems reading those subjects. You will see green resolution marked on most
Follow those resolved threads and see how it relates to yours, and how it was resolved in the past.  Be sure to write your search results in  you thread other users can then see what you've tried and found and help you quicker
As you get more experience you will get good use from the Support and Services grey tab at the top of the page.
That's where the link I posted came from.  Please take my comments the way they were intended, as helpful advice, OK?
I need some specifics on your Vista OS 32 or 64 bit? What version of desktop manage have you tried, removed reinstalled etc.?
Okay flesh things out a little, you installed desktop manager with full access rights as an administer on Vista, correct?
    The installation was error free?
You setup the   your email and when you went to configure the synchronization options, you had what options, I know
    you didn't have Outlook.
What steps did you try to resolve the problem?
Did you change any settings in Outlook, review the desktop setup in the manual?
How far did you get on article I left you regarding MS Outlook tips?
Ok let me know the detail for those questions, thanks,
Regarding the clean procedure post, The first part of the procedure states:
"To install BlackBerry Desktop Software on a Windows® based computer that
had a previous version of BlackBerry Desktop Software installed,
complete the five tasks outlined below. These tasks should also be
completed if the BlackBerry Desktop Software installation or
uninstallation procedures did not complete successfully."
Going on, it explains and shows how to make sure all the registry entries, program files and remnants , along with file traces
were made In Vista and are completely removed. A lot of desktop manager issues especially in the Vista OS can be traced to old
registrations made by a previous DM installation.
Please let me know what parts are not clear.

  • Vista & Outlook 2007 with Tungsten E2 - Hotsync only syncs to Palm Desk top not Outlook

I have a Tungsten E2 for a few years and sync it with no problem on my home computer with Windows and the Palm Desk top.
I just started a new job where we have Visa & Outlook 2007 and would like to keep both systems in sync with my Palm.  I downloaded and installed the new version of  Palm Desktop 6.2 and the Outlook 2007 Update at work.  The downloads went fine.  I selected Outlook as my tool of choice.  When I did the sync - everything was updated on the Palm Desk top not in Outlook.  I tried to remove & reinstall the software but it refuses to recognize Outlook as being my desktop software.  I get no errors.  Any suggestions?
    Post relates to: Tungsten E2

The 6.2 version has the Outlook 2007 conduits included, you do not need to install the patch for Outlook 2007.
If the data is sync'ing with Palm Desktop but not Outlook you will need to change the conduits to sync with Outlook.
Go to start-programs-palm and look for PIM conduit switcher and change to Outlook.

  • Outlook 2007 (on vista) will not show when trying to synchronize in v4.3

I've installed DM v4.3 on vista and and want to synch with MS Outlook (2007). However, in the synch configuration (calender, contacts, etc.) my options are:
    <none>
    <Yahoo>
    <ASCII Importer/Exporter>
Where is Outlook?? Does anyone know why it's not showing up? I'm not using an enterprise server. I have seen this work on the same set-up so I know it's not a compatibility issue. Any help would be greatfully appreciated!!

    Nikon E5000
Do you mean a NIkon CP 5000 (Coolpix 5000)? Aperture supports many raw formats, but not all, because the raw support  has to be camera specific. Not all NEF files are in the same format - all Nikon cameras will call their raw files NEF.
For some cameras Aperture never included raw support. The currently supported cameras are listed here:
    http://www.apple.com/aperture/specs/raw.html
It looks like your camera is not on this list, so if you want to shoot raw with that camera, develope the raw files using a different raw converter (Adobe's dng converter or the suftware that came with your camera) and import tiff or dng files to Aperture.

  • IPhone 3G and Outlook 2007 sync Vista x64

    Hi,
I pre-ordered two iPhone 3G a week ago (still not received them) and then went online to read user opinions about it. and, honestly, the scared me.
First, battery life. I'm Samsung SCH-i760 (Verizon) smartphone user and I'm pretty happy with it. With small battery it last the whole day - some browsing, some phone calls and some software which I have installed on it like my database application which syncs with my PC (CodeWallet). I red that iPhone 3G should be charged at least twice a day otherwise you'll risk to stay without it in the afternoon.
    and
Second, most important for business-oriented user like me - I'm Outlook-addicted and use it all the time for contacts, tasks and appointments, and I do it on both smartphone and my PC with Vista 64-bit.
So my question is does anybody tested it on Vista x64? Does the Outlook problem with sync exists on this OS version also? Although MS Office 2007 is 32-bit application it work on 64-bit OS and uses different drivers/application to communicate with devices. I simply cannot spent days playing with issues like this....and will stay probably with my existing provider (Samsung is Windows Mobile 6 device and there is no problems sync anything with any Windows).
    Thanks.

Sorry, I can't help with Outlook 2007 although I use MS Exchange with Outlook 2003 SP3 with not troubles.
You cannot save files to the iPhone and I wouldn't expect this in the new 3.0 firmware. There are several apps that allow you to save/access files from your home computer or a cloud server. I use Box.net.

  • Synching windows Outlook 2007 with iPad/iPhone

I need to transfer my contacts/calendar from my iPad to a new Windows laptop running Outlook 2007. These contacts/calendar were stored previously in old laptop that died. Can someone give me the correct settings in iTunes when I first synch iPad with new laptop to bring them all over? Thanks

Here's the solution provided by Risco in the iPhone 3GS forum. It's the only one that I found that works for exactly the same problem on both the iPhone 3GS and the iPad. I might add that I was also getting two other error message every time I connected to iTunes ("Mobile Sync stopped working," and "Yahoo Go Sync stopped working").
    Here it is (for Windows):
Go to Program Files ( x86 if using 64 bit )
    Open Common Files
    Open Apple
    Open Apple Application Support
    Copy the Sqlite3.dll
    Go to the windows folder
Open system32 if on 32bit, or syswow64 if on 64bit
    Find the sqlite3.dll
Rename it to sqlite.dll.bk (if none there, go directly to Paste step below)
Paste the new one in there
Open iTunes and it should sync everything fine and no errors!

  • ICloud does not synchronize Outlook 2007 with ipad

I want to synchronize outlook calendar with iPad calendar. I installed ICloud on the PC, choosed calendar for synchronizing, allowed iPad to synchronize with iCloud and started. The first synchronization worked. Both calendars on Outlook and iPad looked the same. Now I thought, that any new thing on each of the calendars would be pushed immediately to the other calendar. This does not work. Is there a time limit or did I need to make some more changes?

  • Not able to install live update with vista 64bit

    I got a MSI P45 NEO-F board with Intel 2 duo E8400 processor, and VISTA 64bit.
I'm not able to make the live update work, the CD-ROM following the card does support vista, but not the 64bit version. After having tried updating everything else to make my computer stop crashing when playing Age of Conan, I would like to see if an update of the bios will help. I would rather use the MSI updater than do it my self, as I don't want to take the extra risk.
I've checked core temperature, RAM temperature, memory leak seems not to be the issue either, and I got the last driver for my videocard (v8.9 for Radeon HD 4870 512MB). At any given time the sound loops, picture may freeze and pixel or just go to brown stripes, and I then need to force a reboot. Some times the system has BSODed by itself as well.
Current BIOS is v1.1, I think there is a v1.5 now.
Is there a live update supporting vista64? Or a receipt for dummies how to do it manually? The AMI BIOS Flash procedure following one of the BIOS-versions that I *think* I can use doesn't include an explanation for vista.

  • HT4918 Using outlook 2007 with old mobilme email.

If i had a mobilme email what is my email address now?  I use outlook 2007 and can't seem to figure this out.

    Diane:
This worked perfectly for me, I tend to read most of my mail on the default reading pane (as opposed to opening the email completely -which doesn't work).  I Actually created three different Macros for REPLY, REPLY ALL, and FORWARD and replaced the
buttons on the ribbon so I wouldn't click them by mistake.  The only change (besides the obvious changes) I added a line "strRecip = LCase(strRecip)" because I noticed the Macro would not work correctly if the person used uppercase when typing the email
address...for example if they typed it as [email protected] it would work fine but if they typed it as [email protected] or [email protected]  or even the domain itself it would NOT work.  With this addition everything works! I'll post this on the
bottom of the macro link too...I would have typed it there directly but you probably don't visit that page very often and I wanted to make sure you got my response.
