Outlook 2010/2007 with Exchange 2010 - show email address in field To: instead name

Hi,
I´ve SBS 2011. Some users have more email aliases. I want to see in Outlook email adress/alias in field To: <- no user Name and Surname. I know, that I can open every message and go to Options and see full header, where is email adress, but I want
to see it on message preview in Outlook window (or Name Surname ([email protected]))
Thank you very much for your responses.

I think this is not what he was looking for. The link you provided is for showing the senders smtp address and not the recipients. as i understand it, hes looking for the same that i do.
user has multiple smtp addresses and user wants to be able to see to which of his own addresses the mails has been sent.
im looking for that solution to show recipients smtp address in the To:-Field when showing the email
as i unterstand it, there could not be a registry-value for outlook because exchange isnt using the smtp address internaly to deliver the email.
the only "Simple" Solution/Workaround i found is to use a distribution group with the smtp address you want to see and only add the specific user. then the user is able to see the Name of the Distribution Group instead of his own name so
hes able to differ.
thanks

  • Public Folders no longer visible in Outlook 2007 with Exchange 2010

    Hi all,
This is a perplexing problem because I though I had done everything right
About 1 year ago, I migrated my Exch2007 to Exch2010.  The 2007 hardware was showing signs of quitting but it hung in there long enough to complete the migration.
All the user mailboxes, OWA, all other functions moved to the new server.
We use legacy Pub Folders and I manually created a Pub folder database and set up all the Pub folders to replicate from 2007 to the 2010.  Once replication has taken place, I removed the 2007 replication partner on all the Pub and System folders in
prep for removing the 2007.  But then I got busy and never finished removal.
Flash forward to a few weeks ago and the Exch 2007 box goes down hard, RAID containers gone, totally lost.  I did not immediately worry since all was still fine with Outlook and Pub Folder Access.
I got around to cleaning things up and after verifying that there was nothing pointing to the old server including the OAB and any PF, I used ADSIedit to remove the reference to the old server in the Exchange Organization.  Since then, although I still
see the PF object in the Mgmt Tool, Outlook does not see their existence.  OWA cannot see them either.
I have read that GAL problems can cause this so I have recreated this object to see if will help.
Has anyone else faced this situation?  I really need to get PF access back...

    Here is an update:
When attempting to "Update" the Default Offline Address List, I get the following error:
    Microsoft Exchange Error
Action 'Update' could not be performed on object 'Default Offline Address List'.

  • Setting Out Of Office from Outlook not working with exchange 2010

    Hi
We have an exchange 2010  server with 2 load balanced CAS server and Mailbox servers in a DAG.  We have a few domain
names accepted (will call it firstdomain.com and seconddomain.com)  but only one is in certificate (firstdomain.com).
The issue is - when user with default email @seconddomain.com try to set “Out Of Office” from outlook (2010 with all service
packs and updates) he is getting “ Your Out of Office settings cannot be displayed, because the server is currently unavailable. Try again later”  where
setting it from webmail works fine and setting it from outlook for users with @firstdomain.com reply address works fine.
we have both internal and external urls for all virtual directories set to external
    host address (https://mail.firstdomain.com
etc). All the users are on intranet with local ip subnets (sites connected via vpns ), all the routing is in place and DNS points to correct ip addresses.
Autodiscover works fine (tested in outlook ) and giving correct address for OOF link
    ( https://mail.firstdomain.com/ews/exchange.asmx)
wich opens fine if entered into address bar in IE so its NOT AN AUTODISCOVER issue .
I enabled  logging in outlook and thats what I am getting in there:

possible exchange server hosts/domains/ip addresses excluded from proxy.
Aside from obvious question - what can be wrong and what to test next, another question
is - how can I check/monitor setting OOF on server side (log files etc)?

    Hi,
According to your description, I understand that Outlook client with second domain name cannot use OOF setting and get an error “Your Out of Office settings cannot be displayed, because the server is currently unavailable.”  However OWA works fine.
If I misunderstand your concern, please do not hesitate to let me know.
I want to double confirm whether all account or some special user experience this question.
Would you please try to reconfigure Outlook profile in other Computer, Outlook version and return the results?
If this issue only appeared on Outlook 2010, please refer to below link to troubleshooting:

Please try to run ExBPA to test OOF to get more details about this question. Additional, I find a similar thread about your question, for your reference:

-availabilityaddressspace. Autodiscover works TXT works. I have added a user from Org B as a contact in exchange.
The exchange 2010 server is not the CAS server for the exchange environment and I is not a proxy for exchange 2007. Is this where I am failing ?

    Hi Nigel,
How is the impact, just one user or all users, Outlook or OWA?
If just one user, it seems like an issue on the Outlook Client side.
Please trying to re-create new profile to fresh the caches.
Please runing Outlook under safe mode to avoid some AVs, add-ins and firewall.

  • RightFax 9.4 Intergration with Exchange 2010

We know Exchange 2010 is supported with Fax Server 9.4 FP1 and we need to install the FP1 patch.   We need to move the RightFax 9.4 integraton from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010.  Is there any white papers or support documents on how to do this?
We need both inbound and outbound (faxing from Outlook) to work with Exchange 2010.   What steps need to be done to complete this task?  Thanks!

I think it may make sense to contact the RightFax people (OpenText) regarding this, since RightFax is their product.

  • Problems with a shared calendar using Outlook 2007 and Exchange 2010

    Hello all,
We are having a problem with sharing a calendar using Outlook 2007 and Exchange 2010.
I will start with some background. I have just started my position with this company. I have been working with networks for awhile at the small business level. I have not had much production experience with exchange. There is only myself and my supervisor
who has inherited a midsized network which was built by five previous techs that are no longer with the company. Of course, the previous techs did not leave much documentation, so the original hows and whys for our system setup has been lost.
One of the managers has a calendar she shares with some of our users. I believe this calendar has been in use since sometime in 2006. A mailbox was created to hold this calendar to keep it separate from the managers calendar. I am not sure what version
of exchange they were using at that time, but I assume there was one or two migrations of it getting to its current state on our exchange 2010 server. At some point it was observed that the other workers she was sharing with were not able to access it correctly.
I am not fully sure what the original problem was (possibly some people not being able to see or connect to the calendar), but it was decided to give everyone who needed access to this calendar full access permissions through exchange. Correct me if I
am wrong, but I believe that gave everyone connected the ability to do anything with the calendar. Of course the manager was not happy about that. This is where I started working on the problem.
I removed everyone, except the manager who wants to control the calendar, from having "Full Access Permissions". This did have the effect of making some people just able to see the calendar and not make changes. Though there were others that were
able to connect to the calendar who I thought would not be able to. The manager that originally created the calendar did try to manage access to it through the Outlook interface, though it currently does not seem to be fully in effect.
So, to get to the point of what we are trying to do, is there a way to get the original manager back into control of the calendar though Outlook? It would be preferred to be able to keep the history of what they tracked of this calendar, so starting a new
one would be something we would rather avoid. After that, getting all of the users that need to connect to the calendar reconnected with the correct access permissions and making sure they are all synchronized.
I realize this is a big mess, and your help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Exchange 2013 in coexistence with 2010, Outlook keep looking for Exchange 2010 server slow connection

    All,
not sure if this topic has already answered, but can't find anything around.
Here's the scenario. Migrating from a single Exchange 2010 to a cluster of 2 + 1 Exchange 2013. Two in a site, One in the other site (DC).
I have migrated successfully a firsat batch of users. Mail flow works perfectly. The only thing is that often the migrated users are experiencing a long time (about 30 minutes) to get their Outlook syncronized. Both OL 2010 and 2013 doesn't make any difference.
They're using OL Anywhere, and I've already tried to rebuild the profile.
From a check on the OL connection status, looks like they're still looking for something on EX2010, but no idea what could be. If I disable the cache mode it works smooth and quick.
My best guess is that is something in cache they're trying to keep updated... but still this doesn't explain the huge delay.
Any help would be highly appreciated!
    Thanks!

    Hi Alessandro,
What happens in OWA? I guess it should be good.
Did you have public folders with Exchange 2010? Were they moved over to Exch 2013? Technically you should move the PF to the latest version from the legacy version before moving over the users?
    - Moved the PF to OL2013. same behaviour
May be the outlook clients are looking for th OAB? Did you move the OAB to Exchange 2013?
    - Did this too.
Try running outlook on safe mode and see what happens? may be one of the outlook add-in's are looking for something on Exchange 2010?
    - Will try that....
Can you do a Test Email Auto Configuration in outlook (Hold CNTRL key and right click on outlook icon on status bar) and see if the exchange url's are pointed to Exch 2013?
    - Will try that....
Is this happening to all migrated users or specific? Are they BlackBerry users?
    - All users and there are no BB users
Do you have any archived emails on those migrated users? May be outlook is looking for some archived stuff on the Exch 2010 side?
    - I instructed Exchange to migrate also the archiving database, however There are no archived mailbox on 2010
Could this be because of any calendar entries? May be migrated user mailboxes are having issues with working with non-migrated mailbox calendars?
    - This maybe a possibility. I have only 10 users actively using Exchange, while all others have the mailboxes only because they've Lync. I've completed all migrations today, so there shouldn't be anything left on 2010
Let me know how it went - all the best!

  • Outlook 2010 Profiles Not Creating with Exchange 2010 Backend

In an enterprise environment.  Issue has been replicated on multiple Windows Terminal Servers, with multiple accounts.
With multiple accounts have recreated the user profiles from scratch, and launched outlook 2010.  The profile does not autocreate, it was working in production about a week ago.  Windows Updates were applied for December 2014.
Does anyone know if a Local Windows Client side patch would cause Outlook 2010 not to resolve a profile correctly.  Could this be the outlook mapi rpc issue that was part of RU8.  Have searched several hundred artciles on this on google and twitter
in the last weeks time frame and cannot find anywhere online that lists excatly what a user experiences when RU8 fails.  Have not heard back from the Exchange administrator if RU8 was deployed.  There are also multiple Windows Updates for December
2014 for Office that may have caused the problem.
Might be having exactly the same issue as this guy.

There are known issues with Outlook connections if you are using Exchange 2010 SP3 UR8 (as you have found).  You can check which update you are running by going to
Control Panel/Uninstall a Program, then click the
View Installed Updates selection (upper left).  Your
Exchange Server 2010 - Software Updates will show a definite difference between UR8 and UR8V2.  To be safe, I'd fully remove UR8 and install UR8V2 after a system restart.

  • Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010 URL redirection

    Hi,
I am performing exchange 2007 to exchange 2010 migration in co-existence. When i am accessing exchange 2010 OWA and logged in with exchange 2007 user then silent redirection is happening.
But when i am accessing the exchange 2007 OWA and logged in with exchange 2010 user, this is asking for manual redirection to exchange 2010 OWA url.
Please suggest the silent redirection method from exchange 2007 to exchange 2010 URLs.
All exchange servers are in same active directory site.
    Regards Sunny Chauhan

    Hi  Sunny,
You can run the below command to resolve this error
    Set-OWAVirtualDirectory <CAS2007>\OWA* -LegacyRedirectType Silent
The LegacyRedirectType parameter specifies the type of redirect that Outlook Web App uses to a legacy Client Access server or front-end server when forms-based authentication isn't used on the Exchange 2013 Outlook Web App virtual directory.
The following values are valid for this parameter:
    •Silent
    •Manual
Silent causes a standard redirect. Manual displays an intermediate page that shows the legacy URL so that users can change their bookmarks.

  • Exchange 2013 DLP with Exchange 2010 mailboxes

Ive got an Exchange 2007/2010 environment. I've been looking at Exchange 2013 and am interested in the DLP funtionality.
There are no plans to move mailboxes to Exchange 2013 but would it be possible to install an Exchange 2013 CAS/Mailbox server in my environment and route email through it to make use of the DLP ?
Current environment consists of Exchange 2010 DAG, Casarray and hub transport servers, and Exchange 2007 mailbox servers, CAS and hub transports. Mail to the internet is sent to a smarthost.
    Thank you.

    Hi Maria,
DLP Policies are actually a specific transport rule. Since the transport rules with Exchange 2010 didn’t provide such feature to monitor and check the e-mail
content, I am afraid, in theory, it’s not possible.

  • Re-Syn Outlook folder back to Exchange 2010

Last week we had to do a full restore of our Exchange 2010 server using Windows Server Backup. Unfortunately the backup did not have a current backup of Applications (Exchange or SharePoint), which is a whole other issue. This restore was on Jan. 17th and
the most current backup that contained Exchange was Jan 6th. Needless to say we lost about 2 weeks of email on the server. However those emails did stay on all our in-house users PC's in their Outlook 2010.
My question is, how can I move those cached emails from their Outlook folder back over to the server? Some people do use OWA and it would be great if they could see those emails saved in Outlook.

    Hi,
Please check whether you can view the missing messages in OWA. If the missing emails also cannot be viewed in OWA but only in Outlook, we can follow
Sunil _Kumar’s suggestion to export the missing emails to a .pst file from users’ PCs, then import it to users’ mailbox.
For your reference, here is an article about how to import PST Files into Mailboxes with Exchange 2010:

Do you have this issue with all attachment types? If not, what type of attachment are you having this issue with and what size is the attachment?

  • Calendar fails to sync with Exchange 2010

I frequently encounter issues with Calendar (iCal) not synchronizing with Exchange 2010.  I get the ! error triangle beside the account and it will attempt to "revert to server" or "try again" but ultimately failes.  After several attempts, I finally got this message:
I am only assuming this is a persistent issue but not sure why all of a sudden my email address would return as invalid.  Anyone else see this and is there a work-around?
    Thanks

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Can you expand on that please? As in, what exactly, tells you it doesn't sync anymore? Did you re-configure the Desktop Software? If so, what did that present? If not, well, you need to since you've changed your Desktop Organizer app...

  • Limitations of SharePoint 2013 integration with Exchange 2010?

Customer using SharePoint 2013 and looking at whether its possible to integrate this with Exchange 2010 and which features would be available / limitations. Looking for a matrix similar to those found in the Good, Better, Best documents available for previous
versions. Nothing available on Recently Published content for SharePoint 2013 yet http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262043.aspx

I haven't seen a specific list, but the three features I've run into that only work with Exchange 2013 are eDiscovery in Exchange, Automatic Task Synchronization with Outlook and the Site Mailbox feature.  There is a Legacy Task Synchronization mode
available that will work with Exchange 2010 if you turn off the Farm level feature controlling Exchange 2013 task synchronization.  It lets users manually sync specific task lists with Outlook.  But there is no task aggregation.  I found this
whitepaper helpful for exploring the new features and how to turn them off when using Exchange 2010.
