Outlook 2010 crashes when I dismiss reminders

I have an issue where when I open Outlook 2010, my reminders pop-up. When click dismiss all or if I highlight one reminder and click dismiss... Outlook crshes.
I've tried the /cleanreminders fix and the mso.dll fix and neither helped.
Any other ideas?

I have the same issue, started yesterday. Wonder if one of the recent Office updates from Microsoft had anything to do with it? There were quite a few Office updates installed on my PC on 4-23-2012, four of which are Outlook specific.
I've tried running in on-line mode as well as caching, still get the error.
I've also try /cleansniff as well as /cleanreminders
Here's data from my crash, is it the same as yours?:

  • Outlook 2010 crashing when closing program

I'm using Windows 8 64bit, but using MS office as 32 bit.  Since installing LeanPrint 32bit, every time I close out Outlook it crashes and tells me to uninstall this program; then Outlook restarts and then I can close down properly. Please advise what I may do to correct this.
So far I don't have problems when using LeanPrint in my other MS programs or Adobe reader.
    Thanks

    Hello,
We could reproduce the outlook startup issue at our end. We have identified a fix for the issue and a patch has been made available via Automatic updates of Adobe LeanPrint.
To get the patch, please follow below steps:
    1) Go to Windows Start button -> All programs -> Adobe LeanPrint -> My Savings
    2) On top right, click on Settings icon -> Check for Updates...
    3) It should download the latest update for you. Install that latest version. In case you already have the latest version, it will say no update available.
The latest version containing fix for this issue is 1.0.936 (Verify it by going to Windows -> Start button -> All programs -> Adobe LeanPrint -> My Savings -> Settings icon -> About.
P.S.: In case your outlook plug-in got disabled due to that previously existing issue, you need to re-enable it by following steps given here:
On Outlook 2007 - you can go to Tools -> Trust Center -> Add-ins -> Manage (Select Disabled items) in the dropdown and enable the plug-in.
On Outlook 2010 - you can go to File -> Options -> Trust Center -> Add-ins -> Manage (Select Disabled items) in the dropdown and enable the plug-in.
    Thanks,

  • Outlook 2010 crashes when importing contacts

    Hi
I have read a few of the other forums however non of the solutions have seemed to work. I tried exporting the file as a 2007 - 2003 excel file and then a csv, however it only exports about 5 files and then notes that outlook has stopped working and is closing
    down.

    Hi,
One suggestion: Try to repair the .pst file with the scanpst.exe and try to export/import the contacts again.
You can find the scanpst.exe in:
          C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14
You can find you .pst/.ost file in:
          C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook
If you are using .ost file instead of the .pst file, just rename the original .ost file, and restart Outlook, it will rebuilt a new one instead.
    Two questions:
Could you please post the exactly error message for us?
And could you tell us whether this issue occured when you import the contacts, or when you export the contacts?
    Sincerely,
    Max Meng

  • Outlook 2013 crashes when PDFMaker add-in is enabled

Outlook 2013 crashes when the Acrobat v.11.0.3 PDFMaker add-in is enabled. Outlook 2013 will automatically disable the add-in.
The Outlook 2013 version is 15.0.4517.1509, 32 bit. Windows 7 Pro 64 bit is the OS.
Below is the screenshot of the Outlook Account Info page.
Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

I was having to start Outlook 2013 two times every time I turned on my computer (running Windows 8.1 64-bit). The first time, Adobe Acrobad crashed Outlook, disabled PDF Maker, and closed. The second time Outlook started, told me it disabled PDF Maker, and gave me the option to re-enable. I then click to re-enable PDF Maker.
However, I tried LoriAUC's suggestion #1, to launch Outlook 2013 as Administrator. When I did that, Outlook just started up without disabling PDF Maker and without crashing. And PDF Maker remained availble to use within Outlook. That's the way it should always work.
So, I remember that Outlook ran fine with PDF Maker until this month of February 2014. I wonder what changed, Outlook or Acrobat Standard Edition so that Outlook crashes (unless running Outlook as Administrator).
In the meantime, I wonder how to make Outlook start as Administrator automatically without my having to do any extra steps. Or is there a better fix.

  • Outlook 2010 hangs when loading in "processing"

After upgrading from Windows 7 home to ultimate I am having problems with Outlook 2010.  When staring the program hanks up on "processing"
Any idea what I can do to resolve this problem?
    Pheresisman

    Hi,
First, I suggest you try to start Outlook 2010 in safe mode [hold ctrl key while startup] to see if this issue is caused by some add-ins.
If it works fine in this situation, try to disable add-ins.
Click the File menu –> Options link –> Navigate to Add-Ins options.
    Select
Disabled Items in the Manage dropdown and click the
Go button. This would display the following Disabled Items window using which you can see and also
re-enable the disabled add-in. You can select the ones you wish to re-enable and click the Enable button.
Second, ensure Outlook 2010 are not running in compatibility mode,
    Locate C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14 Outlook.exe
    Right-click
    Outlook.exe, and then click Properties.
    On the
Compatibility tab, click to clear the Run this program in compatibility mode for check box.
    Click
OK and try to start Outlook again.
    Hope that helps.

    Hi,
Try a start Outlook in safe mode and test the results again.
Click Start, point to All Programs, and then point to Microsoft Office. Press and hold the CTRL key, and then click Microsoft Outlook.
If the problem does not occur in the safe mode, this issue might be related to some third-party add-ins in the Office program, we can try
    to disable them.
If the problem persists in safe mode, try a new Outlook profile
    ==============
    1.
    Exit Outlook.
    2.
Go to Start > Control Panel, click or double-click Mail.
    3.
Click Show Profiles. Choose Prompt for a profile to be used.
    4.
    Click Add.
    5.
Type a name for the profile, and then click OK.
    6.
Highlight the profile, and choose Properties. Then Email Accounts.., add your email account in the profile.
    7.
Start Outlook, and choose this new profile.
    Can the problem be resolved?

  • Scehudling assistant causes Outlook 2013 crash when creating meeting with external attendee

    Good morning
I have a very annoying problem with Outlook 2013 that occurs when a user attempts to create a meeting, inviting and external attendee and uses the Scheduling Assistant to help them organise timings. We are running Exchange 2013 CU3 with no other versions
    of Exchange in our environment.
Everything works fine until the user attempts to use the Scheduling assistant, as soon as they do, Outlook promptly crashes. Using OWA, things seem to work as expected.
This is the error logged in event viewer:

Has anyone experienced this before and if so can you help me fix it please? Is this a bug with Outlook or Exchange? I am going to test the same scenario on a machine running Outlook 2010 to see if the same issue still persists.

Open Outlook with /safe command (Or hold Ctrl key when open Outlook) starts Outlook without the Reading Pane or toolbar customizations. Both native and managed Component Object Model (COM) add-ins are turned off. To narrow down the cause,
you can also try /safe:1 and /safe:3 commands.
/safe:1   Starts Outlook with the Reading Pane off.
/safe:3   Both native and managed Component Object Model (COM) add-ins are turned off.
To do this, press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type outlook.exe /safe:1
    and press Enter.
In addition, you can refer to the steps in this article to troubleshoot issue that Outlook does not crash when you start it in safe mode. See the "Step 6: Start Outlook in safe mode" section:

  • Outlook 2013 crashes when opening Calendar search result

I have a user who uses her Outlook 2013 calendar extensively, mainly to note for herself when she has spoken to a customer, and creating appointments for when she needs to speak to them again. (This is outside of our policy to note the contact in
MS CRM.) She can have scores of such Calendar items each day.
When seraching for these appointments in her Calendar, she gets the list of results, but Oulook crashes when she tries to open any of them. Sometimes Outlook restarts on its own, sometimes she must relaunch it herself.
Related threads reference a wwlib.dll error, but she is not getting that. It is Outlook.exe itself that is crashing. There are other threads that reference other open windows, or items containing webpages or tables, but these do not apply to her, either.

On answers.microsoft.com, Girish M (Support Engineer who eventally directed me here), asked me to run Scanpst.exe. I would paste the results here, but this window does not seem to allow pasting. A summary description of what it found on her .ost file (no
.pst in use) is basically this:
    **Beginning NDB recovery
      **Attempting to open database
      **Attempting to validate header
      **Attempting to validate AMap
      **Attempting to validate BBT
      **Attempting to validate NBT
      **Attempting to validate BBT refcounts
??Couldint find BBT entry in the RBT (E025CC)
**Attempting to validate header NID high-water marks
    **Beginning PST/OST recovery
**Attempting to recover all top-level objects
        **Store created by biuld: 15.4517
      **Attempting to walk all folders
Failed to add row to the FLT, RowID = 719
Failed to add row to the FLT, RowID = 6CD
Failed to add row to the FLT, RowID = 6DE
Failed to add row to the FLT, RowID = 6D8
and so on, and so on, with a few hundred more FLT RowID errors, finally ending with:
**Attempting to locate any orphaned folders/messages
      **Performing Final HMP validation
**Attempting to check top-level objects for consistency
      **Updating folder hierarchy
      **Verifying message moves
My understanding of the Scanpst.exe process is that it also disables any addons which might cause crashing, but the issue is still being experienced. Running Scanpst.exe a second time (appending the previous log, although it seemed to actually prepend the
file) only returned a few lines from the top of the result above ending with "Attempting to validate BBT."
Fixes not attempted yet that I have found performing searches include running the Office Repair tool, or checking for KB2817631 (a Word update that is apparently having adverse affects on Outlook, not attempted yet because it seems to be related to the wwlib.dll
error, which is not happening here).
    Any thoughts out there? Thanks!

    Mavis,
Thanks for the reply. Running Outlook using /cleansharing and
/cleanroamedprefs did not have any effect when used individually or in combination with each other.
Running the Search Index Rebuild option also did not seem to do anything, as the pop-up message indicated that it may take a long time to finish, and yet seemed to finish instantaneously, not giving any indication that the indexing took place. The option
window immediately said "Indexing complete" for 23,755 items.
As to the Outlook Forum, they are the ones who directed me to this forum (you can see the thread on the Answers support page under Office - Office 2013 - Microsoft Office Outlook - Office on Windows 7, under the title "Outlook 2013 restarts when
opening Calendar Search result item" first posted on Dec 11, 2013), as Girish M felt that it might be due to Exchange, and not Outlook. (I have no reports of any of our other users on the same Exchange server having the problem with their Outlook, but
they also do not use it the way this user has been.)
I can repost the issue there, or continue the same thread, if you think the issue lies with them. Was the "Answers" site the improper place to post, perhaps? Should it go in a different thread on Technet instead?
    Thanks for your assistance!

  • Is there a way to automatically update events in the Outlook 2010 calendar when adding events in the iCloud calendar in Outlook 2010?

I am using Windows 7 and Outlook 2010. I have synced my Outlook calendar with my iPhone using the iCloud Control Panel. This is great, but when I add an event in the iCloud calendar in Outlook 2010 and subsequently send out invitations to the event, I get the following error:
"This meeting is not in the Calendar folder for this account. Responses to this meeting will not be tallied. Do you want to send anyway?"
I select "Yes" and the invite goes out. However, when invitees receive the email invitation, there should be 2 emails - one from Outlook and one from iCloud. The iCloud invite does not always come through. If the invitee responds to the Outlook email invite, it does not show up on the iCloud Calendar.
Is there a reason that the iCloud email is not always sent or is there a way to some how update the Windows Outlook Calendar when adding events in the iCloud Calendar through Outlook?

I have just discovered this problem as well.
    Very annoying!
Now all off my meetings entered in Outlook on my desktop PC are not syncing with my ipad and iphone.
If I had known this would have happened I would never have downloaded Version 2.0 of the icloud control panel.
Does anyone know how I can get the earlier version back?

  • Outlook 2010 hangs when opening older calendar items

Hi,I have a really odd issue. One user has a bit of a vague issue - where Outlook 2010 (32 bit, on Windows 7 64) freezes up (not responding) when user is trying to open a calendar item he has created himself in a group calendar also created by himself. So, a quick google search finds, besides a lot of advertised non working items, in general tips like "check mailbox size" (User is at 70% of allowed size, where allowed size is a mailbox of 1GB)Or, run outlook in safe mode to see if any add in or plug in causes this. Sadly - in safe mode exactly the same happens - Outlook stops responding. No other user has the same "owner" rights on this calendar, so it`s hard to reproduce. And now for the really odd one - any item listed before June 1st (2015) causes the issue. Any item from June 1 and onwards opens as it should.I have difficulties wading...
This topic first appeared in the Spiceworks Community

    Hi JW_IC,
    Does this issue occur OWA?
If OWA not hangs, it seems an issue on the Outlook client side.
I found that you have done all operations on the Outlook client side and still not worked.
How about following the error message, "To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel",
to check the problem in the Action Center control panel. Please paste the details without sensitive information for the further troubleshooting.
I suggest updating Outlook 2010 to the latest version for test.

  • Crystal  2008 not working with outlook 2010 mapi when exporting

I recently had service pack 3 and fix pack 3.3 updated to my system ( crystal 2008) to help correct a issue with mapi not populating addresses from outlook when trying to export a report. I have a new issue. - sort of???
Now when I try to export multiple reports in a row I still have the same issue. I can send 1 report out. But if i try to send another report out i have the same issue that I had with mapi not populating the addresses field from outlook.
To get past this I shut down crystal and then bring it back up and I can send (ONE) report again before the same thing happens. Does anyone know if there is fix for this issue?
Fyi - this has nothing to do with the design of my report.  The problem lies with how Crystal is communicating with mapi when trying to allowi a 2nd report to be exported.  I am not using any outside programs, only crystal 2008 version and trying to export my report through mapi (outlook 2010 (in PDF format).  As stated above with the above fixpack - I was able to restore exporting but now I can only export 1 report at a time.
When I select a 2nd report to export (after just sending out my 1st) the mapi function will not allow me to select addresses.  So while the fix pack (from the website) restored some functionality it only allows 1 report at a time.

    Hi Max,
It works for me. I get the Allow for 1 minute box and then I export again and same thing.... works...
I'm using Windows 7 64 bit at home. It just installed SP 1 so that may be the difference also but I don't recall this being a problem before.
I also don't see this being a CR problem, if it works once then something else is blocking the MAPI permission box. Check your anti-virus logs, could be it things a trojan is taking over your address book and blocking the second attempt. The AV logs should show you if something was blocked. Or disconnect from your network/disable network cards and disable your AV and test again.
Do you have any other tool that allows you to export? If you install Winzip or WinRAR it adds a feature that allows you to right click on any file, save the PDF to disk and then test using the zip tool to see if that works for you. If not it's definitely your AV or possibly Firewall software blocking the pop up.
    Thanks again
    Don

  • Outlook 2010 hangs when opening emails from a certain sender

I have a problem when we a receive a notification email from a certain sender.  The email is actually from an internal address within the company.  We receive email notifications when we receive a voice mail on our phone system and that email
is what is causing the problems.  The email we receive is very basic and just has a small amount of text saying "IP Office Voicemail redirected message".  When I try to open the email (or view when the reading pane is enabled) it hang Outlook
for about 20-30 seconds.  This happens with every notification email we receive from that address.  I tried locking up Outlook when it was hanging to see if I could get any error messages.  In Event Viewer I got this:
"The program OUTLOOK.EXE version 14.0.7113.5000 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel."
    Things I have tried:
Clean install (of both Office and Windows)
Removing and recreating the Outlook profile
Setting Outlook to "Read all standard mail in plain text"
    Updating Windows/Office
Setting our voice mail server to send from a different email address
    Opening Outlook in safe mode
We are on a domain with Exchange.  This started happening a couple of months ago.
Any ideas as to what I can try next?
    Thanks.

to check the problem in the Action Center control panel. Please paste the details without sensitive information for the further troubleshooting.
I suggest updating Outlook 2010 to the latest version for test.
    Thanks

  • Outlook 2013 crashes when collapsing shared calendar

The following issues occurs when viewing shared calendars with Outlook 2013. It occurs on multiple workstations and with multiple users.
When collapsing a shared calendar by clicking the arrow to the left of the calendar name, if one or more users of the shared calendar are selected (i.e. the box next to their name is checked), the Outlook screen will appear to refresh the screen repeatedly
whilst the cursor flashes rapidly. Outlook then crashes and has to be re-started.
The work-around is to de-select any selected users of the shared calendar before collapsing it, but we cannot reasonably expect users to remember this.
Is there a fix for this issue? Others have had the same issue (see http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/419634-outlook-2013-stops-responding-when-trying-to-collapse-a-group-of-calendars).
Running outlook in safe mode makes no difference.
    Thanks

  • Acces 2010 crashes when importing a exceldatabase

when i import a excel file in excel acces 2010 doesn't work wel. When i want to open the datasheet view acces 2010 crashes.
i've already tried to import a file with only 100 lines but still the same problem.
    I have a Dell , 64-bit operating system
    thx

Post a copy of the Excel file so we can try it ourselves.
Try a 50 line file. Then, a 25 line file. Then 12 lines, etc. until you get one that works. That makes it easier to find the killing line.

  • Outlook 2010 crashing after bunch of windows updates on this tuesday

There were a ton of office 2010 patches released this tuesday and after that we are noticing that Outlook is crashing a lot.
Disabling addins helps for a while, but it crashes all the time.
We have Exchange 2010 and yes it even crashes in safe mode.
How can we diagnose the issue.
    konkani

    Hi Konkani,
Actually, we've seen some other reports that a recent Outlook 2010 update (KB 2956128) will cause Outlook 2010 not working properly, but the symptoms are various.
We would like to collect more information for further investigation. Could you please provide your detailed system info?
Also, Could you please have a check and send us the log files? You can send the log files to this email account:
