Outlook 2010 Quick Print - Adobe Reader 11.0.10 Crashing
We have an issue where when printing an outlook email with multiple PDF attachments using the quick print button in outlook; Adobe reader will crash and some of the PDFs will not print.
We have tried this wil multiple printers, printer drivers, computers, users, and both x86 and x64 versions of Windows 7.
We have reinstalled Adobe Reader, Outlook, Printers.
We have disabled the secure (Protected Mode).
We have recreated the user's windows profile from scratch and had them use different computers.
The issue does not happen everytime but it does happen a majority of the time.
Does anyone have an more troubleshooting steps that we may try I am open to any suggestions.
-Shane
Yes, but adobe will still crash intermittently if I try to print multiple PDFs at the same time.
For example:
I have 3 PDFs in a folder, I highlight them all, right click, Click on print.
It will usually print the first one, but then adobe reader will crash and the other two PDFs will not print.
Thanks,
Shane

Reader X and Outlook 2010 Quick Print
Since upgrading from Adobe Reader 9 to Reader X, the Outlook 2010 right-click>Quick Print function doesn't work as it did before on attached pdf documents.
With Reader 9, Quick Print would briefly open Reader, print the document, then close Reader. We could right-click>Quick Print several pdf attachments and all would print, once Reader opened.
Now, Quick Print does cause Reader X to open and print a single pdf attachment, but Reader doesn't close, and when then attempting to print more attachments nothing happens until Reader is closed. Then the next document will print. Each time Quick Printing another pdf doc, we must make sure Reader is closed or it won't print.
Uninstalling X and installing 9.x again solves the problem. Is there a way in X to get this functionality back the way it was in 9.x?
Thank you.Yes, your observation is correct... I'll clarify: With Reader 9.x we could right-click>Quick Print more than one document, the subsequent one are selected to print before the first one has yet printed... then all of them would print. When done, the reader windows can be closed.
With Reader X, each attached PDF document that is sent to Quick Print after the first one won't print until the reader window is closed, then the next one prints, close the window and another one prints, and so on and so on. And I should mention that it takes minutes before the Reader window opens and prints.
Even worse in Reader X is using the context menu's Print function from Windows Explorer. When right click>Print a PDF document that way, it may or may not print after a very long wait, possibly 10 minutes or longer... I didn't time it. If more than one PDF document is selected then right click>Print, no documents are printed after the first one FINALLY does print, even after closing the reader window.
With Reader 9.x, all of the selected documents would print rather quickly and then the reader window could be closed.
These results are consistent and repeatable.
The computers used to test this are HP dc5750 small form factor desktops, Windows XP SP3. The printer used is a networked HP LaserJet 4345 mfp. We tried other printers with the same result.
Edit, new info:
A new update to Reader X was installed today. Now when right-click>Quick Print the Reader window opens much faster... a matter of seconds rather than minutes now. Other than that, it is the same.
The Windows Explorer right-click>Print is just a bad as before.
Thank you. -
Reader XI and Outlook 2010 Quick Print
Hi,
when I upgraded to adobe reader XI (11.0.06) I got this error in Outlook 2010.
When clicking quick print I get a choose default program dialog box.
The associations are correct and they work within windows, and even if I just click open within outlook it opens in adobe, only quick print doesn't work. I also checked the box always use this program but it does not remember the next time I click quick print. And also when I select adobe and click choose it only opens up the document. It doesn't print it.
I have tried:
delete all associations and redo them
uninstalled adobe and installed again
rebooted a million times
Any help is useful.

PDF Previwer in Outlook 2010 after updating Adobe Reader X version
After updated Adobe reader X version Outlook 2010 PDF previewer is not working. How can solve this problem.
Firstly, please kindly check if the PDF Preview Handler function has been disabled.
1. Launch Outlook.exe, go to File > Option > Trust Center > Trust Center settings > Attachment Handling
1. Uncheck the box "Turn off Attachment Preview"
2. Click option "attachment and Document Previewers" and check the box "PDF Preview Handler"
Secondly, you may reinstall the Adobe PDF reader to see the result. Feel free to post back.
Thanks. -
Can't open PDF's on my Mac coming in on MS Outlook 2010. Reinstalled Adobe software 4 x and still get "Adobe PDF Preview Handler" error message.
No. Reader will not damage files. It is only meant to read pdf files. PDF files are frequently damaged when sent as email due to encoding issues.

Can´t open pdf attachment in Outlook 2010 after inst. Reader X
Hi!
Today I updated Reader from 9 to 10.1.2 - I did not face any problems with the installation.
But now I can not open any pdf attachment in Outlook 2010 (Reader opens and closes immediately) if Reader X is not running.
When the Reader is allready running I can open the files without problems.
When I save the file on my desctop I can also open it - also if reader is not allready running.
I un- and reinstalled the reader fiew times, also tried the repair tool - nothing helped.
I receive a lot of pdf Files - any help would be great.Did you try this? It worked for me.
http://www.darrenstraight.com/blog/2010/12/16/adobe-reader-x-there-was-an-error-opening-th is-document-access-denied/
Open up Adobe Reader X
On the Toolbar Menu go to Edit > Preferences
Go to the general tab under Categories.
Untick “Enable Protected Mode at Startup”
If asked if sure, click Yes and then Ok.
Now close Adobe Reader X and try opening the PDF again. -
When printing a Lync Online Meeting from Outlook 2010, it prints out xml code?
I have a couple of users that whenever they go to print out Lync 2010 Online Meetings from outlook 2010, it prints off a bunch of xml code and extra info (UCCCapabilities, UCInband, UCMeetingSetting, UCMeetingSent) all in XML.
Any ideas why it would be doing this, and only affecting a couple of users?
TAGThe following fix worked in our Exchange 2010, Lync 2010, environment.
Symptom
In Outlook, when users are printing (or print previewing) Lync
online meetings on shared calendars, an XML code is included in the printout.
Cause
When the shared calendar is opened, the folder is being
reported as read-only despite the user having read-write permissions. The Lync
add-in writes a property to the item (this succeeds) and then to the folder
(this fails) so then the code is not run that would mark the property as the
item as non-printable.
Possible Resolution
If the owner of the calendar creates an online meeting one time on their own calendar, this will
result in the property being created in the calendar folder. Then when a
delegate subsequently creates an online meeting on the calendar, the property
will already be on the folder, so the Lync add-in will not try to add it. This
avoids the error condition, and the property on the item will then be
successfully flagged as non-printable.
This worked for me. My user was a delegate for the managers mailbox. When she created an online Lync meeting on behalf of the manager, the meeting attendees would see the xml code in print preview as well as the printed document. The simple fix, as described
above, was just to access the managers Outlook profile from the managers computer, and create and send out an online Lync meeting (to one or more recipients, shouldn't matter). That's it. Now when the delegate goes to create any new online Lync meeting on
behalf of the manager, the visible code is no longer present. This works, as the description above says, because "the property will already be on the folder (after the manager creates an online Lync meeting on their own calendar), so the Lync add-in will
not try to add it. This avoids the error condition." -
Hi there!
Like so many others, I am having a difficult time printing Adobe Reader documents. I am running system 10.6.8 (not sure which cat that is), Adobe Reader XI and my printer is a HP LaserJet P2015dn. I ran Software Update, re-installed the driver from the HP website and updated to Reader XI. I'm not sure what else I can do and printing at five minutes per page is really frustrating.
Thank you for any advice!!You might see if you have printer sharing on. Go to Networks. Click on sharing

When trying to print, adobe reader 11.0.07 keeps "Not responding" for 2 - 5 minutes before finally working? I have tried uninstalling and re-installing but same problem. What is going on? I have windows 7
First of all, why did you say yes to Nero Back up before researching what it does with files already on the HDD? When I install Nero, the Back Up is the first thing I disable, it is a nagging pain, there are much better backup programs available. There are several file recovery programs out there to recover deleted files, that is, if that is what happened. Also, if you haven't overwritten the files, so you should be able to find them.

How to change margin value in mode booklet printing Adobe Reader X ?
How to change margin value in mode booklet printing Adobe Reader X ?
Is this a form you created in Acrobat or is it a form that you're using with Reader? If the latter, there's nothing you can do if the field has been set up to format the field with a £ for the currency symbol.

Adobe Reader 11.0.03 crashes every time I open a PDF. I see the grey box saying Reading Untagged Document then it crashes with the message that Acrobat is not responding. I have Windows 7 Professional. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing several times. What should I do?
Hi,
Could you please let us know if you are using any 3rd party plugin for Adobe Reader? If so, can you please temporarily remove the same and see if you are facing the same issue.
If you are not sure about the same, please do the following:
1. Navigate to the Reader installation folder. Usually its C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 11.0
2. Ensure that Adobe Reader is not running and delete the entire "Reader" folder
3. Initiate a Repair transaction for Adobe Reader from the Control Panel > Programs and Features.
Also, it would be great if you could let us know if the issue is PDF specific or does the issue happen with all documents. Do you observe the same issue with the below mentioned PDF as well:

Adobe reader 10 and 11 crashes after 3-5 sec.
adobe reader 10 and 11 crashes after 3-5 sec. it newer gets fully opened, it just closes. the problem is all my pdf files on my computer. and they work fine on my other labtop. tryed to repair, remove, install many times
Can you try this next: navigate to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader (if you have Reader XI installed), or C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader (Reader XI on 64-bit Windows), and double-click on Eula.exe, then accept the license agreement.
Does that fix the problem? -
Adobe Reader 7.0.7 Crashes
Anyone else having problems installing or running Adobe Reader 7? It crashes right after displaying the menubar.
Anyone else having problems installing or running
Adobe Reader 7? It crashes right after displaying the
menubar.
I had this with Adobe Acrobat Professional 7 as part of the Photoshop CS2 suite. It eventually locked up my MacBook so I ended up installing the operating system from the supplied Apple CDs.
I have subsequently seen a comment on the Adobe website about this issue. Adobe say they will not be releasing a Universal version until the next product upgrade.
