Outlook 2010 Rules Run at Schedule Time

I set a rule to forward certain important corporate email to my hotmail so I can check it on my cell phone. It works fine but I like to set the rule to run on the weekend only, is this possible? I search internet and I don't see anyone has this need but
I - weird! Thanks
Thang Mo

No, it's not possible to run Outlook rules at specified date. If you don't want the rule to run everyday, we can deactivate the rule and manually run the rule by clicking "Run rules now" button any time you want from
Home tab > Rules > Manage Rules & Alerts.
Or you can post your question to Outlook for developers forum and check if we can do this via VBA:

  • Outlook 2010 rules only run manually

    Hello All,
    I have a user whose Outlook 2010 rules only run manually. He has some server rules and he has some that say client only next to them. All of the client side rules are listed under the server rules. I have deleted all of his rules and had him recreate them
    and i've ran outlook /cleanrules and they still do not work. I'm not sure what to try next. We are running Exchange 2010 Standard and Outlook 2010. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Alex

    I had this same problem, tried many things that said it would work and didn't. Here's how I fixed it:
    There are several good programs that backup Outlook. Backup FIRST.... I use Outback Plus 9 (http://ajsystems.com/outbackplus/obp.html) and there's also BackupOutlook (http://www.backupoutlook.com/)
    Backup Outlook using Outback 9 Plus then:
    1 - Go to the Control Panel
    2 - In the Search box - enter:
    Mail
    3 - Run the Mail
    - or -  Mail (32 bit) applet
    4 - Click:
    Show Profiles
    5 - Select the profile (you likely have only one)
    6 - Click:
    Remove    [this will remove the registry settings for this profile]
    7 - Close the Control Panel
    8 - Run Windows Explorer
    9 - Go to the:
    [My Documents]\Outlook Files  folder
    10 - Delete the \Outlook Files folder (or delete all of the items in it)
    11 - Go to the folder
    c:\users\--your user name--\appdata\local\Microsoft\outlook
    12 - Delete all of the files in this folder
    13 - Go to the folder:
    c:\users\--your user name--\appdata\roaming\Microsoft\outlook
    14 - Delete all of the files in this folder
    This gets rid of the Outlook data and the profile setting.
    I would restore the Outlook data (using OutBack Plus 9 - and assuming you have at least one POP3 type account) as follows:
    1 - Run OBP9 and click Restore
    2 - Locate the backup file to restore from
    -- Open it
    3 - When you get the message indicating that a full profile restore will not be done - acknowledge it.
    OBP9 should then be planning to do a "Default" restore (i.e. it will restore the data to the default locations).
    4 - Select the Outlook data files for the restore ... but do NOT restore any ".ost" type files (Outlook will rebuild these automatically).
    5 - Finish the restore -- this will restore the Outlook data files to the proper default locations (e.g.
    [My Documents]\Outlook Files for normal ".PST" files)
    6 - Start Outlook [which will begin with a request to create a new Profile (Outlook) then email account]
    7 - Refer to the web page:
    http://ajsystems.com/kb3/outlook2010emailaccounts.htm
    and begin at step "B" ... by electing to do a manual configuration of the account.
    8 - Link the account to the (appropriate) Personal Folder file [PST file] restored to [My Documents]\Outlook Files
    9 - Add any other POP3 type accounts using the same procedure .. linking them to the appropriate PST file.
    Note - you can have multiple POP3 account linked to the same Personal Folder file (as was always the case prior to Outlook 2010.
    10 - Add any other accounts (e.g. IMAP based accounts) which will automatically create the appropriate file and re-synch with the server.
    11 - Re-run OBP9
    12 - Locate the backup file to restore from
    -- Open it
    13 - Select Outlook Profile settings and ancillary settings (e.g. Signatures) ... but do NOT select any PST or OST files.
    14 - Finish the restore to restore these settings to the new profile (created by step 6).
    This was done with Outlook 2013 as well and on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.  All worked!

  • Unable to access BCM 2010 DB with Outlook 2010 after running compatibility pack for Outlook 2013

    After reading about the Description of Business Contact Manager compatibility pack for Outlook at this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2793723 it clearly states "Business Contact Manager for Microsoft Outlook is a compatibility pack that enables
    Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2007 and Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2010 to run in Microsoft Outlook 2010 and Microsoft Outlook 2013. Business Contact Manager for Outlook (BCM) also supports using Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013 in a side-by-side
    installation."  This link also states "General product fixes, including stability and performance improvements."
    So, I was hoping for some stability and performance improvements but desired to continue running from Outlook 2010.  After running this downloaded compatibility pack it had little messages other than completed. If I try to run it again it says the database
    is already updated.  however, now I cannot open the BCM DB in Outlook 2010.  when I try to connect to it from Outlook 2010 BCM it only opens a small window with no message, only a yellow exclamation sign.  It also won't allow me to restore the
    back up.
    Can I undo what the compatibility pack program did to my BCM 2010 DB?
    Now it won't allow me to restore a DB from two days ago. It gives this error "Access is denied due to a password failure. RESTORE FILELIST is terminating prematurely".  I know the password is correct.
    Please help, anyone? Now I'm starting to freak out a bit.  I am going to reinstall BCM and pray.
    I was able to restore the two day old DB by not entering a password. Odd since I know I backed up using a password.

  • Outlook 2010: "Decline and Propose New Time" doesn't work.

    Environment: Outlook 2010 v14.0.7106.5003 (cached mode) / Exchange 2010 SP3+RU4 (v14.03.0174.001)
    We are following this guideline to propose a new meeting time:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/propose-accept-or-decline-a-new-meeting-time-HP010356518.aspx
    User1 sends a meeting invitation (monday 10:00-10:30) to user2. The appointment appears at user2 calendar with status "tentative". So long, so good.
    User2 clicks on "Decline and Propose New Time" and selects a new time (monday 11:00-11:30).
    Result: The appointment is removed from user2 calendar instead of being moved to the proposed time. User1 receives a notification (Subject: "New time proposed: ... ") with the information "appointment declined" but there is no option
    to accept the new time and also no hint about the new time.
    If found a lot of posts with the same issue but no solutions...
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
    Do the users have 3rd-party add-ins installed?
    Let's try running Outlook in Safe Mode:
    Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /safe” in the blank box, then press Enter.
    Test if this issue persists when testing in Outlook Safe Mode, if there’s no problem in Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which add-ins caused this issue.

    Any idea's?

    Thx Chris.  It may not be an Apple issue but I am trying to cover all of the bases.  I have it posted as well on MS forums.  I am a big Apple fan but lets be honest that iCloud has its own issues with MS Outlook integration.  It is far from perfect and their implementation sort of makes Outlook not work as well as it did prior to iCloud integration.  There are many posts about this over the past few years. Just trying to see if someone has figured out if there is an issue with not being able to snooze reminders when iCould is integrated.

  • TS3899 Sending a meeting invite from Exchange 2007 account located in Central Time from Outlook 2010 Email Client located in Eastern Time cause meeting to show up 1 hour early on iPhone

    Sending a meeting invite from Exchange 2007 account located in Central Time from Outlook 2010 Email Client located in Eastern Time cause meeting to show up 1 hour early on iPhone.

    The meeting invite is being sent from a Computer through the Outlook 2010 Email Client. Both Computer and Outlook 2010 are set to Eastern Time. The OWA (Outlook Web Access) for the 2007 account is set to Eastern Time. The Outlook 2010 Email Client is connected to an Exchange 2007 account and the Exchange server for the exchange 2007 account is located in Chicago (Central Time) and is set to Central Time. When the meeting invite is sent from the Outlook 2010 Client the recipient receives the invite on his/her iPhone(set and located in the Eastern Time Zone) and a mime-attachment.ics file is attached to the meeting invite email. There is no info displayed in the subject line or message body. If the iPhone user opens the attachment it displays the meeting date and time and any other info that was sent from Outlook. The Outlook 2010 user sets the meeting for 10:00am to 11:00am. when the meeting invite mime-attachment.ics file is opened on the iPhone the meeting is displayed as 9:00am to 10:00am. if the iPhone user adds the ics file to his/her calendar it adds a meeting event that is scheduled 1 hour earlier than it is supposed to be. I had the iPhone user to set Time Zone support on and off and there is no change.

  • Outlook 2010 not showing "you replied on" or reply envelope icon

    Hello
    This little issue is driving me nuts! Occasionally, and seemingly at random, when I reply to an e-mail in Outlook 2010 it will refuse to show the "you replied on" status and the icon in the list will not change from the regular one to the one with the little
    purple arrow indicating I've replied. This is very frustrating as sometimes I can't remember if I've replied to an e-mail or not, and have to go hunt through my sent items to confirm if I did.
    It seems to happen to about 20% of my e-mails and I have no idea why. Is this an Outlook bug?
    We're running Exchange 2007 and a BES. I've read that this issue may have something to do with BlackBerry replication; but how do I fix this???

    Hi
    Thank you for using
    Microsoft Office for IT Professionals Forums.
    From your description, this problem might occur if you has a desktop alert for and opens the email with BES or .OST file corrupted.
    The Item then gets modified by the BES server.
    You type your email and click send.
    The reply status does not change.
    You can refer to the following KB articles
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917901
    We can follow these steps to test this issue:
    1.
    Move an offline Outlook Data File (.ost), (link to: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/move-an-offline-outlook-data-file-ost-HA010378297.aspx?CTT=1)
    2.
    If you use a third-party program that may be causing this issue, let the third-part program retrieve the e-mail message before you open it. To do this,
    wait for several minutes before you open the e-mail message after you start Outlook 2010. The interval of time that you wait varies depending on your computer and on your configuration.
    Turn on or off Cached Exchange Mode Outlook 2010
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/turn-on-or-off-cached-exchange-mode-HP010355560.aspx?CTT=1
    Please take your time to try the suggestions and let me know the results at your earliest convenience. If anything is unclear or if there is anything
    I can do for you, please feel free to let me know.
    Hope that helps.
    Sincerely
    William Zhou

  • How to transfer all emails and contacts from Outlook Express to Outlook 2010

    I have just done this and believe me it was a bit of a marathon! Microsoft tell you that you need to have both Outlook Express and Outlook 2010 running on the same machine. If, like me, your Outlook 2010 in running on a Windows 7 platform there is a problem.
    Until now I have been using Outlook Express on a Desktop running XP Pro. It has Outlook 2007 but it won’t run owing to a corrupted file. I set up my email account on an old XP laptop which has Outlook 2007. This is how I transferred emails between 2 machines
    running Outlook Express:
    After setting up the account (on the old laptop) I created sub-folders exactly the same as my existing account. Having got some emails in the inbox I made sure that each new sub-folder contained at least one random email simply by drag and drop. It seems to
    validate the folders. I then copied the folders from the maintenance directory on the desktop (you find this under Tools – Options – Maintenance) and pasted them into the equivalent folder on the this old laptop so they overwrote those present. I transferred
    the contacts simply using Export – Address Book using a csv file. I then set up the email account in Outlook 2007 on the old laptop and ran an import from Outlook Express which was fine as per Microsoft’s instructions. On that machine I then exported to a
    backup pst file which I transferred to my new Windows 7 machine and imported successfully into Outlook 2010. Perhaps there are easier ways but at least it worked!

    You can directly do the same, visit https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/196215 to know the steps.

  • Outlook 2010 Windows 8 compatibility with iCloud

    I'm usring Outlook 2010 and running Windows 8. I was able to setup my Outlook client via the iCloud control panel. the inbox syncs; however, I'm unable send replies or send new emails. I receive an error from Outlook: could not complete operation because the service provider does not support it.

    I think I have figured out a partial sulution....
    In both cases I have the iCloud data file set as the default. If I set my Outlook datafile as the default, I am able to send emails from my iCloud account!
    The down side to this is that your calander and Contact list etc do not show up anymore in your main screen.
    six of one and half a dozen of the other
    For me having the calander and contact list ect is more important and if I have to send a lenthy email I will have to switch the default account, but as a work around it really ___ . Hopefully someone else can find a real solution.
    BTW the last update from yesterday did not fix anything!
    Thank You,

  • Outlook 2010 duplicates mail with setting Leave mail on sever, Delete After n days and pressing Send/Receive All folders

    The setting Leave mail on the server and Delete after n days and Pressing Send/Receive all folders causes outlook 2010 to duplicate all mails of the last n days over and over again.
    If I leave outlook 2010 open this problem does not occur, mail will be retreived without a problem. If I leave Outlook 2010 open for a long time and then press Send/Receive all folders it does work ok. If I restart Outlook 2010 and then press Send/Receive
    all folders the problem occurs.
    The pst file is a new one. OTher mail accounts that do have Leave mail on the server but not Remove after n days do not have the duplicating behaviour.
    I have manually removed 6400 duplicate mails, if Microsoft does not solve this urgent problem soon I need to remove Office 2010 from my computer and go back to Office 2007, Office 2007 worked fine for me.
    Is there a solution fir this problem, or a free tool to remove all duplicates?

    Dear Pieter,
    I suggest creating a new Outlook profile, and create the problematic account in the new profile, to see if the problem occurs.
    Here are the detailed steps on how to create a new profile to test this issue
    ==============
    1.    Exit
    Outlook.
    2.    Go to
    Start > Control Panel, click or double-click
    Mail.
    Mail appears in different Control Panel locations depending upon the version of the Microsoft Windows operating system, Control Panel view selected,
    and whether a 32- or 64-bit operating system or version of Outlook is installed.
    The easiest way to locate
    Mail is to open Control Panel in Windows, and then in the
    Search box at the top of window, type Mail. In
    Control Panel for Windows XP, type Mail in the
    Address box.
    Note    The Mail icon appears after Outlook starts for the first time.
    The title bar of the Mail Setup dialog box contains the name of the current profile. To select a different existing profile, click Show Profiles, select
    the profile name, and then click Properties.
    3.    Click
    Show Profiles. Choose Prompt for a profile to be used.
    4.    Click
    Add.
    5.    Type a name for the profile, and then click
    OK. Please also follow the onscreen instructions to create the email account in this profile.
    6.    Start
    Outlook, and choose this new profile.
    If this problem does not occur in the new Outlook profile, the old Outlook is corrupted. We can delete that and use a new Outlook profile.
    Please take your time to try the suggestions and let me know the results at your earliest convenience. If anything is unclear or if there is anything
    I can do for you, please feel free to let me know.
    Best Regards,
    Sally Tang

  • Multiple outlook Profiles in Outlook 2010

    Hello,
    I am going through an issue, where I have below set up.
    Exchange 2010, Exchange 2007
    Windows server 2008 R2
    Outlook 2010, Outlook 2007
    Issue:
    The issue is, when multiple outlook profiles are configured on a single windows profile, Outlook is prompting credentials only the first time it is being accessed. From second time onward (without logging off the windows profile) its not asking for credentials
    any more.
    Lab Diagnosis:
    We tested below scenarios for Outlook 2010
    PC in domain, logging in with domain account, Outlook 2010 = no password asked second time onward
    PC in domain, logging in with local admin account, Outlook 2010 = password asked every time when Outlook is opened.
    PC in work group, logging in with local admin account, Outlook 2010 = password asked every time when Outlook is opened.
    Interestingly, we also observed, that while with the first scenario, if the windows profile is logged off, and then re logged in, Outlook asks for password again (but only for the first time)
    We tested below scenarios for Outlook 2007
    All above scenarios do prompt for password every time Outlook is launched.
    What all we tried:
    We tried the below items, but nothing helped us for Outlook 2010
    Check marking always prompt for password in every outlook profile for Outlook 2010.
    Credential manager in control panel =  Nothing found
    Checked after adding the registry key for forcing password prompt
    I want to know if this is a default behavior of Outlook 2010 to not prompt for password from second time onwards within the same windows profile session (with below scenario)?
    Outlook 2010, Exchange 2010, mailbox account in Exchange 2010, Windows Server 2008, logging with domain account in windows, multiple outlook profiles accessing from same windows profile, PC joined to domain and do not want to log off windows profile.
    Thanks !

    Hi Sachin,
    Do you mean the credential information is never required when switch Outlook profiles? If so, we need to confirm whether the problematic user can send/receive emails normally in each profiles without asking for password. Maybe you can
    try to change a Outlook profile password to check whether the issue persists.
    Additionally, since it is related to Outlook profile, this should be an Outlook issue instead of Exchange issue. Maybe we can also ask a question in Outlook forum for more professional answers:

  • Script runs a few times and stops running without errors

    Hello.
    I'm developing a management pack from VSAE to monitor RLM license services. I have been able to successfully discover the classes I have created.
    I'm trying to write a script performance collection rule to measure the available licenses of every instance of RLM_License class. This is what the Data Source looks like:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <Configuration xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="C:\Users\jnegroadmin\AppData\Local\Temp\tmp5445.tmp">
    <IntervalSeconds>60</IntervalSeconds>
    <SyncTime />
    <ScriptName>RulesPerformanceRLMLicenseAvailable.vbs</ScriptName>
    <Arguments>"$Target/Host/Host/Property[Type='UTAD.RLM.RLMService']/UtilPath$" "$Target/Host/Property[Type='UTAD.RLM.RLMLicenseFile']/FilePath$" "$Target/Property[Type='UTAD.RLM.RLMLicense']/ProductName$"</Arguments>
    <ScriptBody>$IncludeFileContent/Health Model/RulesPerformanceRLMLicenseAvailable.vbs$</ScriptBody>
    <TimeoutSeconds>20</TimeoutSeconds>
    <ObjectName>RLM License</ObjectName>
    <CounterName>Available Licenses</CounterName>
    <InstanceName>$Target/Property[Type="UTAD.RLM.RLMLicense"]/ProductName$</InstanceName>
    <Value>$Data/Property[@Name='Value']$</Value>
    </Configuration>
    and this is the script:
    Set oAPI = CreateObject("MOM.ScriptAPI")
    'Call oAPI.LogScriptEvent(WScript.ScriptName,951,0,"Script was launched successfully")
    sUtilPath = WScript.Arguments(0)
    sFilePath = WScript.Arguments(1)
    sProduct = WScript.Arguments(2)
    Call oAPI.LogScriptEvent(WScript.ScriptName,951,0,sUtilPath + " " + sFilePath + " " + sProduct)
    dim array,count
    sCommandPath = sUtilPath & " rlmstat -c """ & sFilePath & """ -avail -p " & sProduct
    Set objShell = wscript.createobject("wscript.shell")
    Set oExec = objShell.Exec(sCommandPath)
    count = -1
    Do
    line = OExec.StdOut.ReadLine()
    if InStr(1, line, "available") > 0 then
    array = Split(line,":")
    count = Mid(array(1),2)
    End If
    Loop While Not OExec.Stdout.atEndOfStream
    'Call oAPI.LogScriptEvent(WScript.ScriptName,951,0,count)
    Set oBag = oAPI.CreatePropertyBag()
    Call oBag.AddValue("Value",count)
    oAPI.Return(oBag)
    The rule runs a few times on the server, I see the data on the Prrformance Window, and the event logs. But then, I stop receiving event logs and data on the performance rule. I only see event logs for New Configuration and credentials loading.
    I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Other rules from Microsoft MPs are running correctly and gathering data on that server.

    Please refer to the below blog for the best practice when we create MP manually.

    Easy solution for restoring lost calendar informaiton, thank goodness.  On your iPhone, go to settings, then to iCloud.  If your Calendar selection is turned off,  turn it on.  Your info should restore.  If your Calendar selection is turned on, then turn it off.  Choose to save calendars when asked.  After it shuts the Calendar off, turn it back on.  Your info should be restored.
    Thank you to Apple support for walking me through this.  Shame on you Apple for not just telling people about this easy fix rather than making us go through all of this pain and worry.
