Outlook 2011 won't connect offsite

we are using Exchange 2007 and i can't get my email to work off site using outlook for mac 2011. It work on site but when i try from my house it dose not work. I have it working on IPhone and IPad's but can't get it working on the macbook pro at all. I can't us the mail app or out look. I know we use OWA to connect to outlook. I can use it on my PC at home and my pc laptop. All the mac laptop that use 2011 outlook can't connect to exchange sever at home. The URL is Https://myserver.edu/owa

I've been using Outlook with Gmail ever since Outlook replaced Entourage and have never encountered any problems.
Your incoming and outgoing server names are correct, but I'm use port 993 for imap.gmail.com and port 465 for smtp.gmail.com. I'm also using SSL on both ports and have Authentication set for username and password (using the "Advanced" button in Account setup) for the smtp server.
Good luck - I think that you just have a port problem...

  • Outlook 2011 won't send emails after updating to 10.8.5

After updating to 10.8.5, I can no longer send emails out of my .mac account. I am using Outlook 2011 and have double checked the outgoing server settings and everyting checks out fine. Seems to be a compatability issue now with Outlook and iOS. Can anyone confirm this or know how to fix this problem? Thanks

BTW - the error message that comes up is: "5.7.8 Bad username or password (Authentication failed)..."

  • Outlook 2007 won't connect / Autodiscover issues

    Hello Foristas,
I'm stuck ... so I hope someone will point me in the right direction. This is the scenario:
Target: Migrate 2003SBS to EX2013. SBS hat been migrated to 2008R2 AD Server plus EX2010. This went without problems. Outlook and OWA worked just fine. A 2012 AD Server has been added.
EX2013 has been installed on a fresh 2012 Server. Still everything worked. Mailboxes were moved and still everything worked. EX2010 was decomissioned (seemingly in a hurry :-( ) and now users can't connect via Outlook.
Outlook Version (2007) is up to date, OWA works fine. I can't use the external Connectivity Test because I have no access to either external DNS nor Firewallconfiguration. The customer also doesn't need external access.
    Internally I have A-Records for
    exchsrv.intdom.local
    autodiscover.intdom.local
Lookups work fine. I can access https://autodiscover/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml as well as https://autodiscover.intdom.local/.... and exchsrv/autodiscover (I get the invalid request answer)
Certificates are signed by a domain CA, the root certificate is installed and there is no certificate warning when accessing OWA (or EWS, for that matter).
When trying to connect Outlook, I get that "no connection to Exchange - outlook ha to be online" error (like many others ...). When trying to create a new profile, Outlook barfs at "logging on to server" (wording might be different, I'm
    on a german system).
I've double-checked that AutoDiscoverInternalURI is correct (it's autodiscover.intdom.local/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml) as well as AutodiscoverVirtualDirectory InternalUrl is set and correct.
Now here is what is really strange: Out of despair, I just clicked "repair account" and I was able to connect. Once. I could send Mails and receive internally. After restarting Outlook, it was and stayed disconnected. But at least I was able to
run the Outlook Autodiscover diagnostics and what I see: Outlook tries lots of autodiscover.EXTdom.com URIs, but net even tries the internal one. So for testing, I created a host entry on the client pointing autodiscover.EXTdom.com to the internal IP of the
Exchange-Server. I created a new profile and the ran through the assistant and had a working outlook. Once. After restarting, Outlook was disconnected again andcreating a new profile doesn't help. I've recreated that scenario and I'm able to create a working
profile just once and it will only work for the first start.
With the host entry present, when I open https://autodiscover.EXTdom.com/aut.... , a login prompt appears ...
I suspect something fishy in the AD, but I have no more ideas where to look after trying to track that down since yesterday morning.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Chris

  • Outlook 2003 won't connect with gmail

I use Outlook 2003 SP3 on my Windows 7 laptop and it will not always pull my gmail down using the Verizon hotspot. My AT&T hotspot works fine, and a direct wifi connection works fine.
I get the server not available message.
However, in the Options setup, I can test and receive the gmail just fine, including the test message.
Some research indicates this might be an issue with IPv6 verses IPv4.
Other than updating to Outlook 2010 which does not appear to have the same issue, any suggestions?

Hey there skyking4ar.  That certainly is odd. If you're able to get gmail sometimes you certainly should be able to all of the time, especially if a competitors device is always able to bring it up.
Do you have any issues with any other websites? Which mobile hotspot device do you have? Are the server settings set up correctly?
Please provide additional details skyking4ar and we will continue to troubleshoot. I am confident we can resolve the issue.

  • Outlook 2011 won't sync with Address Book iCal, etc.

We recently adopted Outlook for the Mac 2011 (we used Exchange) for our platform because of Exchange compatibility issues with other applications.  Despite the clear statement in Outlook Sync Services that it will sync with Address Book and iCal, I cannot get it to sync with either.  I've looked around the forums, and deleted plist files, but nothing.  My iSync says that I have no devices, but I'm only trying to sync between Exchange and the apps on my MBP (I also have an iPhone but I'm okay with Exchange there).  I'm also reading about problems with iCloud and Exchange; is this the problem?
I'm not ordinarily this stupid, but I'm hitting a brick wall here.

You must be on OS X 10.7 in order to use iCloud.
OS X 10.7 (Lion) is available in the App Store as a digital download. It is $29. Best practice - be sure to make a backup copy of your computer before upgrading any software.
After you download and install 10.7 Lion, you will have an iCloud icon in System Preferences.

  • Outlook 2010 won't connect to exchange 2010 - logon box appears

Users can't connect to Exchange server from outlook 2010.  The domain\user and password boxes keep popping up and will not accept the details.  It ends with "the connection to exchange is unavailable.  Outlook needs to be online to perform
    this action"
I've searched high and low for an answer and none work.  Anyone any ideas?
Exchange is behind Threat Management Gateway 2010, with applicable rules setup.  Strangeley, Outlook Web Access works fine with no problems what so ever.
    Thanks in advance

  • Work computer just got two years of Win7 updates, now Outlook 2010 won't connect

My work computer was getting slow, I was having trouble opening some Microsoft Office files because I didn't have the latest updates.  Updates weren't working on my computer at all since I first got the machine two years ago when I started at this company.
I found online there was WindowsUpdate AU registry key that needed to be deleted in order to receive updates.  I did this and got all the updates.  But then afterward my Outlook would not download my work email, and my Office Communicator would not
connect either.  It would prompt me for my password, but would tell me I had the incorrect password (even though I did not).  Office/OC also did not work on my mobile device.  So I restored back to before the updates and now it works fine. However
Win Update still wants to install all of these problematic Office updates since Microsoft does list them as "Important."  My network admin has put a restriction on my machine that disallows me to change when and how Windows updates, so they
will be installed automatically when I shut the computer down (I think so anyway).
I would like to know how to either 1. keep these particular Office updates from installing (I see that I can deselect them in Windows Update, but that's only temporary I'm sure), or better yet, 2. figure out how the heck to get Outlook/Office Communicator
to work with the updates.  I have notified my IT department, but I will be honest, they are very slow at responses and historically haven't been a whole lot of help, so I wanted to start here. Thanks for any help.

    Hi,
My opinion is you should go ahead to check for updates and install any required ones. It’s always a good idea to keep current with updates.
As per the description, it looks like some settings or files got corrupted during the updating. But this should not affect the account itself, which means the use of Office on your mobile device should not be affected. Are you able to use
Office on your mobile device again after the restoration?
What is the type of account configured in Outlook? Did you see any send/receive errors in Outlook?
I'd first suggest your try few general troubleshooting steps:
If you are using Exchange account, try to rebuild OST files.
This will effectively forcing Outlook to re-sync all contents from server to a new OST file. (You can find the location of your .ost file in
    File> Account Settings>Account Settings>Data Files)
Repair your Office installation from the Control Panel and see if it helps.

It's recommended to download and install
Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT), which is developed by Microsoft Support teams. Once the tool is installed, you can run it at any time to scan for hundreds of known issues in Office
    programs.

  • Macbook Air (2011) won't connect to internet and is stuck in Mac OSX Utilities

Additionally, I cannot connect to my backups because I deleted them! Install takes to long to do at Starbucks for example. Halp? I have a WPA2 Internet security. I have also rebooted everything.
    Help is greatly appreciated!

Glad it's not just me. I have D-Link and TP-Link routers set up in the same or a similar way. My iPads, iPods and Windows laptops all show a single SSID and switch between them happily. My new 13" Air was showing two networks (2 SSIDs) and wireless was patchy at best. I changed one router to be N only and that improved things somewhat, but still loosing the network. In order to see which router was being used I altered the SSID of one. The "N-only" router is giving the best coverage with a strong signal - but then it just drops out and the wireless icon shows "Searching". Turning wifi off then back on fixes the connection.
When it comes to internet browsing my iPad 2 is significantly faster than the Air.
I'm also having trouble keeping or attaining connections to my Windows shares, drop-out, even when I still have internet connectivity.

  • Outlook 2011/365 connectivity to Exchange 2010

    Hey Everybody,
I'm running into a little bit of jam with Outlook 2011/365 from my Mac population to Exchange 2010 SP3 Rollup 8 v2. I have read many articles and discussion forums regarding the issues with SSL and TLS connectivity. I have verified that my windows host with
Outlook are just fine in setup and use of the Exchange server.
The Mac systems are having the issues. Autodiscover is working ok and IPhone/Ipad configure just fine. We really only have two, so this is why it was a surprise.
If I browse to the EWS directory it is just a blank page receive from any browser on the Mac's.
What is the issue with Outlook 2011 and 365 connecting to a exchange system during configuration?
Would joining the Mac's to the domain make a difference?
With Poodle being one of the most recent risks, what should Mac user be configured as to not bring a security risk to the rest of the environment.
Is reseting the virtual directories a possible action or is the most common issue just SSL and TLS compatibility?
Is there anyways around this without having to turn on basic security  on EWS and fall back to SSL instead of TLS?
What is the best ways of testing connectivity with logging other then just seeing the error 17997 from Outlook on the Mac.
    Thoughts? Recommendations? Tips?
    Thanks,
    Matthew

    Hi Matthew,
According to your description, I noticed that the issue doesn’t happen in Outlook for Windows but occurs in Outlook 2011 for Mac.
Please access the EWS URL from Internet Explore in Windows instead of Mac machine, and check whether a proper XML file is returned. If the XML file returns in Windows for the problematic account, it indicates the EWS service should be working in Server side.
The issue may be related to client side in Outlook 2011 for Mac machine, I suggest we can ask a question in Outlook for Mac forum for more help:
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac/forum/macoutlook?tab=Threads
If the EWS service doesn’t work in Windows either, please check whether users can view free/busy information in OWA. Then run the following command to check the EWS configuration in server:
    Get-WebServicesVirtualDirectory | FL Identity,*AUTH*,*url*

  • Issues connecting Outlook 2011 for Mac to Exchange Server 2013

Could someone help me with the bellow please:
I have a Mac with outlook 2011 on it.
We have recently set up Exchange Server 2013, and all of the Windows Workstation just required the trusted root certificate to be installed and they were working.
However I have spent hours reading different forums trying to get this working on the Mac and no luck.
The auto discover does not work when setting up the exchange email, therefore I have also tried setting up manually but it still will not connect to the server.

I've had a similar problem.  On my first boot up after installing 10.7.4,  Firefox would not open.  Crashed every time.  Safari was not affected.  I have no idea if it was related to the flash plugin, but I did install a the latest version of that a couple of weeks ago.

  • Outlook 2011 Connection Issue with Proxy Server after 10.8 Upgrade

    Hello,
After upgrading my MBA to 10.8, my MS Outlook (Outlook Mac 2011) mail connection does not work for an exchange based mail account where a VPN/proxy server combination is involved. This was not an issue at all under 10.7. What's interesting is that it's not an issue with MS Outlook 2010 on my Parallels VM either under 10.8. There are no internet connectivity issues, I am able to connect to the internet using Safari and other browsers. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Manish

I was having a similar problem using Outlook 2011 running under Mountain Lion (10.8.2) on an MacBook Pro. When at work, behind our proxy server, I could not get Outlook to connect to a client's public Exchange server, but this worked fine without changing any settings when I was connected to our DMZ network or at home (no proxy server in these cases). My MacBook was configured to use "Auto Proxy Configuration", and Safari worked fine in all three locations (as did Apple mail)
Today, the Microsoft Office auto-updater downloaded an update, and since it was installed, the problem has been fixed and I've been able to connect to our client's external Exchange server event when behind our local proxy server (Outlook now reports that the latest installed update is 14.2.5)

    Can somebody help?
    Thank you in advance

    Hi,
The connection in Outlook 2011 for Mac is difference from the Exchange connection in Outlook for Windows. The Outlook for Mac is using EWS for Exchange connection.
According to your original posting, there seems to be some issue with your autodiscover service. And some Exchange services (such as OAB, OOF, OWA etc.) are using webmail-01.xx.com namespace in the URL. Please double confirm the configuration in your Exchange
    server.
Additionally, please check the autodiscover service on Outlook for Windows machine. If all configurations in server side are correct but the issue persists, I suggest we can ask a question in Outlook 2011 for Mac forum for more help:
