Outlook 2013 Advances search only shows cached emails

Hi all,
We have rolled out Outlook 2013 with cache mode on, we have set caching to only one month of data. We are using Outlook 365 as our exchange server.
Quick search works as it should and shows all the results. However, advanced find only shows results from the cached emails. IE nothing older than a month. I have run a re-index etc but still have had no joy. Is there something I am missing?

What’s your account type using in Outlook? IMAP account or Exchange account?
Please make sure your Outlook 2013 is updated to the latest version. Then click Send/Receive > Send/Receive All Folders to manually download mailbox data files from mail server to Outlook data file. If it fails, please recreate the IMAP account in Outlook

What are you viewing when using the search box ? If you are in the store then it should search the store - is that not happening ?

If you intend to keep using iCloud on your iPad, your best course of action would be to update your Apple ID/iCloud information so that you have a known password and it is associated with an active email address. You may find the following articles helpful:

Outlook 2013 S/MIME only version 1?

Hi,
I introduced myself into S/MIME signed/encrypted messaging. Got myself a certificate, installed it, set it up in outlook and wrote - myself - some messages for testing purposes, which worked really good.
When logging into the web interface of my free outlook.com address - out of curiosity - I had a look at the message source (code), which I have posted here.
What I found odd, is that it seems to me SMIME version 1 is used, whereas version 3 should be the latest to be supported (according to google searches).
Why? Is it because of the (free) outlook/hotmail servers? Is version 1 less secure than the latest version?

Try to open the encrypted email message in Outlook 2013 and click File -> Info -> Properties, check the Internet headers box and see if the MIME-Version is 1.0.

After syncing my phone my email shows differently...It showed all of my emails as unread. Now it shows how many emails I have withthe red oval beside the envelope icon rather than just the new ones. How do I get it to go back to only showing new emails?

Is there a setting in about:config that controls the length of the alltabs list? I would look for such a thing, and change the setting if it is there. A setting of -1 should make it limitless.

Office Outlook 2013 no search results

Installation:
Server 2008 R2 Terminal server
Office Outlook 2013
This is a new server install and happening the same for all 15 users on the server, Admin s and users.
I am unable to display any results when searching mail box. I modified and rebuild the index many times. I have un-selected and re selected files and
added pst files. I am able to start outlook in safe mode and search with no problem. Users are able to search programs and files in windows start menu.

Did you installed any add-ins with your Outlook? Please go to File > Options > Add-ins and disable all add-ins you have installed to check the result.
If the problem would be gone when you disable all add-ins, we can try to enable the add-ins one by one until we find the problematic add-ins.

Google Advanced Search only displays 10 Results per page in Firefox 3.6.10

In Google Advanced Search, choose any value for Results per page greater than 10 and do a search. When using Firefox 3.6.10, only 10 results are displayed on each page of results. 10 results per page is the Google default, and the Results per page selection apparently has no effect.
This problem also happens in Google Chrome 6.0.472.63.
The Results per page feature of Google Advanced Search is working properly in other browsers, such as Safari 4.1.2 on a PowerPC Mac and IE 7.0.5730.13 and IE 6.0.2900.5512.xpsp3_gdr.100427-1636 on a PC running Windows XP

Google recently made some changes to the Google search site with the addition of Instant search and that made the setting of the number of results in the Google settings to stop working. 
 
If Instant search is enabled on the [http://www.google.com/preferences?hl=en Google Search settings] page (link at the top right) then you only get 10 results. 
You have to disable instant search and reload the result page and then set the number of results to your preferred choice. 
It may not work if you make both changes at the same time. 
 
There is a link directly to the right of the Google search field on the Google results page. 
That is a button with a drop down list: Instant is On/Off.

Query Bean Advanced Search not showing more than four criuteria

Hi,
I am new to using Query bean for Simple/Advanced Search. I have 6 criteria under the advancedSearchPanel criteria. In advancedSearchMapping, I am mapping all the six conditions. However when I run the Page, only the first four are shown. I am not sure as to why the other two are not rendering.
I modified the order of the conditions and after that again the first four conditions are being shown. I am not sure of the bahaviour as to why this is happenning.
Please help me figure out the issue.

I was looking for a way to display more than 4 criterias in the advanced search panel, and I found this topic.
So if I understand, there is no way we can display more than 4 criterias at the opening of an advanced search page ??!!
I really need to display default 9 criterias in this panel (my customer really need it)
1) Is there anyway to do it?
2) When I add a new criteria (a LOV), the only search operators I have are "is" and "is not", while in the standard criteria items, there is more operators ("begins with", "contains", ... ). Why?

Outlook 2010 advanced search not working

We use Outlook 2010 32bit on Win 7 64bit machines, we are on a 2008r2 doamin and our Exchange server is 2010. I have a user who's advanced search is not working, regular search seems to work just fine. I have rebuilt the indexes, removed Outlook
from the indexes and added it back in. Nothing that I have done has corrected the problem. Has anybody had a problem with advanced search in Outlook 2010, if so what did you do to fix it? The user has a very large mailbox, about 10GB.

Try to Rebuild the index
1. Click Start, in the Search box, type Indexing, and open Indexing Options under Control Panel.
2. Click Advanced, click the Index Settings tab, and then click Rebuild. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password
or provide confirmation.
If it still not works, try to use following method.
Step 1: Check registry settings
1. Click Start, in the Search box, type regedit and press Enter to open the registry editor.
2. Locate the following registry subkeys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftware\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Search\PreventIndexingOutlook
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftware\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Search\PreventIndexingEmailAttachments
3. Please first back up the registry subkeys above. Then, check if the value data is set to 1. If it is, please change it to 0, or delete the registry subkey.

Outlook 2013 Sync issue forler has 4000 emails

we have recently migrated users to exchange online. there was a user who has a large mailbox (11GB approx.) the migration has completed successfully but user's sync folder has more than 4000 objects as duplicated.
any idea on this is highly appreciated.

Hi,
Conflicts folder contains all the multiple copies of conflicting items between what are in your local cache (OST) and your mailbox on the server.
An InfoBar at the top of the original item advises you that a conflict for this item exists.
The conflicting item is stored in the Conflicts folder. Clicking the InfoBar will bring up a list of conflicting items and allow you to resolve the conflict by determining which item you want to keep.
If you still need the items which are listed in the Conflicts folder, verify if they still exist in your mailbox and also exist on the server by using OWA.
If they doesn’t exist in your mailbox, you’ll need to move these items to a folder to check if the changes get uploaded now. If you can see these items in the mailbox, you can just cleanup the folder.
In addition, Outlook 2013 contains an improvement as of the April 2014 hotfix to prevent these errors from being saved in the Sync Issues folder, you may install the hotfix to improve the functionality.

Outlook 2013 and read only IMAP database.

We use GFI Mailarchiver's IMAP Server to give our employees access to their archived items. The IMAP server is read only mode as no one should be changing their archived mail. This worked flawlessly under Outlook 2010 and prior.
We have now deployed our first 2013 client and have now found that it is trying to write to the read-only database when forwarding or replying to a message that was found in the archive. My thoughts are that Outlook 2013 is try to modify the message in
the archive with the "you forwarded theis message on September 11, 2014 at 2:15pm" this causes Outlook to give the message "You cannot make changes to contents of this read-only folder.". The message seems like a nuisance only
but when you dismiss the message and try to close the forwarded or replied to message, you the the same message again and the only choice is to kill Outlook from the task manager.
Has anyone used Outlook 2013 in a read-only IMAP environment? Is there a setting to turn of the updates that Outlook is trying to make to the mail store?

PSE10 Outlook 2013 - Photo Mail can't find email association

I have Win 8 64-Bit (upgraded from Win 7 64-bit), Outlook 2013 (preview installed over Ourlook 2010) and PSE 10.
When I try use the Share > Photo Mail I get an error message:
"There is no email program associated to perform requsted action. Please install an email program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel."
After I hit ok on the windows looking message box, I get a message in PSE:
"Elements Organiser could not Finish creating your email Message.
Please make sure that Microsoft Outlook is selected as the default email program in the Windows Internet Control Panel, and that all dialog boxes in Outlook are closed. If this is the first time you are using Microsoft Outlook, please run the Outlook applicaiton and complete its set-up process before sending mail through Elements Organiser.
Alternatively, you can use the Adobe Email Service via the Elements Organiser Preferences Dialog.
I have Elements preferences pointing to Outlook. When I switch the sharing preference to Windows mail, I get:
"Elements Organiser could not Finish creating your email Message.
Alternatively, you can use the Adobe Email Service via the Elements Organiser Preferences Dialog."
I have checked the default programs, and Outlook 2013 has all associated file type and protocols pointed to it. (an dre-booted PC after resetting defaults)
So either:
- I am mising a fix relating to upgrading Win 7 64-bit with PSE10 to Win 8 64-bit or
- PSE is looking for a particular protocol in the program defaults like MAILTO (but not this one as this is pointed to outlook) that is missing.
Anyone o know of a fix or what protocol it is looking for?

Well, the problem seems to have been cured. Not really clear what changed.
But using the Photo Mail or Email Attachment (with Outlook 2013 open), and the email appears as Outlook new email, and good to send.
Two mentionable things happened:
I have Outlook 2010 open and tried to open 2013. Error -another outlook already open. Cleared error, closed O2010 and opened 2013.
The first one that worked, I was actually busy compiling a separate email, so that new mail was open.
When I complile in PSE, I don't select a recipient. Do that in the outlook new email window. (tried with selecting, still works, bt worth a mention)
So the good news, PSE10 works with Outlook 2013.
But not sure how to get past the problem I had, but keep trying, it will work.

Customizing the advanced search form (showing less parameters)

can I customize the advanced search form in Portal, for
instance, to hide some parameters like "item attributes"
or "item types"?

but that requires some programming efort. are there any easier
alternative?

You could try to cpoy the HTML source of the advanced search
page, copy it in a HTML-portlet or dynamic page, and remove the
fields you don't want to show.
I had succes this way with the search portlet and add_groups
portlet, didn't try the advanced search page though.

Mailbox auditing log search only shows last 7 days

I have mailbox auditing turned on for a mailbox, and the audit log age limit is set to 90 days. When I run the non admin user access report however it only shows me auditing items for the past 7 days. If i go to powershell, and run search-mailboxauditlog
it shows the same 7 days. Any suggestions?

Mailbox audit logs are generated for each mailbox that has mailbox audit logging enabled. Log entries are stored in the Audits subfolder of the audited mailbox Recoverable Items folder. This ensures that all audit logs are available from a single location,
regardless of which client access method was used to access the mailbox or which server or workstation an administrator used to access the mailbox audit log. If you move a mailbox to another Mailbox server, the mailbox audit logs for that mailbox are also
moved because they're located in the mailbox.
By default, mailbox audit log entries are retained in the mailbox for 90 days and then deleted. You can modify this retention period by using the
AuditLogAgeLimit parameter with the
Set-Mailbox cmdlet. If a mailbox is on In-Place Hold or litigation hold, audit log entries are only retained until the audit log retention period for the mailbox is reached. To retain audit log entries longer, you have to increase the retention period by
changing the value for the AuditLogAgeLimit parameter, or export audit log entries before the retention period is reached.
