OUTLOOK 2013 DISCONNECTED FROM EXCHANGE SERVER

Outlook 2013 works fine on Laptop that did not participate in the update on Tuesday for Office.  The desktop unfortunately did perform update.  Since that time Outlook cannot connect to the Server.  What happened?

Hi,
Do you mean the Outlook in desktop can't connect to Exchange server since installing a update? Does it show "Disconnected" in the bottom-right of the Outlook window after opening Outlook?
Please make sure your desktop network is well and it is restarted after performing update. Then disable Exchange Cached mode in Outlook and use Outlook online mode to check whether it works well. If everything works fine in Online mode, please
create a new Outlook profile
for Cached mode to check whether the issue persists.

  • OUTLOOK 2013 DISCONNECTS TO EXCHANGE SERVER

    Hello,
I am a student at The Ohio State University. I configured Outlook 2013 to check my EXCHANGE SERVER. It was successfully configured. However, outlook RANDOMLY disconnects to my EXCHANGE SERVER. I have been experiencing this for a month.
After I restart my computer, outlook will connect to my email again, but it will still disconnect to my email randomly at another time the day after
    I am using window 8.1
    Outlook 2013 (latest version)
    Best,
    Patrick Nguyen

Check the connection status of Outlook. To do this, hold down the CTRL key and right-click the Outlook icon in the notification area (system tray) of your computer.
    Select Connection Status.
See where its trying to connect.
Report to your Exchange Admin, most case it has to be checked at Exchange Server End, If you opt out network related issue.

  • Cannot connect to an Exchange account in Outlook 2013 using "Microsoft Exchange Server or Compatible Service"

    Dear All,
I cannot connect to my Exchange account in Outlook 2013 using "Microsoft Exchange Server or Compatible Service".
    First I would like to present my network environment, I have 4 physical servers;
The first one is holding the Domain Controller 1, IP@: 192.168.1.10
The second server is holding the additional Domain Controller which it is DC2, IP@: 192.168.1.11
The third server is holding the Exchange 2013 Mailbox, IP@: 192.168.1.15
And the last server is holding the Exchange 2013 CAS-HT, IP@: 192.168.1.16
I am doing the steps below:
1-Creating a new profile in outlook and start configuring the exchange account by entering the IP address of the Exchange-CAS Server, 192.168.1.16
2-entering the account name: [email protected]
3-Go to "More Settings" > "Connection" > "Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP" > and entering the "Exchange Proxy Settings"
4-type the exchange CAS Server URL, https://192.168.1.16
5-Check the "Connect using SSL Only"
6-Authentication Settings: "NTLM Authentication", and pressing Apply
7-When I press the "Check Name" button, a message occurred> "The action cannot be completed. The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action".
8-I go back to the "Exchange Proxy Settings" and I Uncheck the "Connect using SSL Only" and pressing Apply
9-i press the "Check Name" Button, a small window occurred to enter a Username and Password, so I enter the Administrator username and the administrator password and pressing "OK", but nothing is changed, I tried to enter my
username and password in the small window and I still got the same result.
I cannot verify the account name and I cannot complete the process.
    I appreciate you kind assistance.

    Hi,
To narrow down the cause, I’d like to recommend the following troubleshooting:
    1. Try to login the test account through OWA.
    2. Check the Autodiscover settings: get-clientaccessserver |fl autodiscoverserviceinternaluri
    3. Check the result of directly accessing the following URL:
    https://autodiscover.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml
    Thanks,
    Angela

  • Outlook 2010 disconnects from Exchange 2013

One of the users running Outlook 2010  (14.0.7108.5000) randomly gets disconnected from her mailbox on Exchange 2013. The disconnect lasts about 5 min and then connection reestablishes. While outlook gets disconnected, computer does not have any problems
accessing any other network resources. Event 25 gets logged on the client when outlook disconnects and states the following. "Network problems are preventing connection to Microsoft Exchange."
Other users in the same mailbox database don't experience or notice the same issue.
The error message states that the mailbox database is offline, but it's probably  misleading as the database remains online and mounted while the disconnect happens. The problems seems to follow the user no matter what mailbox database she is in.

After reviewing the entire RCP Client log on the server, I am ruling out the client PC at this moment.
The disconnect seems to be getting triggered by a Healthmailbox  check that starts right before users gets disconnected.

  • I can't create an email account in Outlook 2013 for my exchange server

Have tried many things on this issue.
I have a new tablet PC running Windows 8. I am able to connect to my Exchange Server account using Windows 8 Mail, no problem but when I have tried to set up an account for Outlook 2013 to connect to the same Exchange Server using exactly the same login
information I cannot get it to connect. I simply get the message that the Exchange Server is unavailable.
I've been able to connect a variety of other devices to the same Exchange Server account without any problem - iPhones, Windows Phone, iPads, etc, etc all without problem. It's just this device and Outlook 2013 seems to be the issue. From checking various
forums seems this is not an isolated issue but I've not been able to find a useful solution so far. Have deleted the user profiles and .ost files, switched off caching etc, all to no avail.
One key difference between the account information required by Windows Mail and Outlook is that in the Windows Mail system I am prompted to enter my domain information. I know this is critical from the information provided to me by our network administration
team but there is nowhere in the Outlook account setup process where I can enter my domain info.
Closest I've been able to get to success is to use the manual account creation process and select the Exchange ActiveSync option - this gets me to the point where I'm prompted for my username and password info but it fails at this step because I am connected
to a local domain (the domain account for the PC) and my user name and password are not accepted. There is nowhere in this login process that I can find where I can enter the correct domain info.
Any ideas on a solution would be very much appreciated - I use Outlook extensively in my work and whilst the Windows 8 Mail system is good, it doesn't have the level of functionality I need.
    Many thanks
    Wayne.

Have managed to solve this with your help Martina regarding using the domain\username combination.
Here's the solution in detail in case anyone else is having similar problems.
From control panels - select the User Accounts and Family Safety item, then the Mail (Microsoft Outlook 2013) item and then the Email Accounts option.
Select the Email tab and click 'New... button to create a new email account
Choose the standard Email account option in the following form. (Not the 'Manual' option'
Enter your Exchange account details - no alterations necessary here. just your standard details.
As the account verification proceeds you are prompted to again enter your username and password details. In this form, instead of using the top option with your username already populated, click the lower 'Other user' option and enter your domain\username
details. This changes the domain. Enter your password as usual.
I was prompted to do this twice - same each time. Enter domain\username in the username field and usual password
    Account is then created.
Open Outlook to complete the process and synchronise data with Exchange.
Hope this is helpful to others - again, many thanks for your assistance Martina.
    Wayne.

  • Need help with Outlook 2013 connecting to Exchange server(2010)

    Hi
I need help with Outlook 2013 and with my exchange server(2010) email account
After setting up account initially emails come in and than after an hour or two stop. My OWA is working fine with no issues. I have even created a forward rule in OWA to my GMAIL account whch works fine
However Outlook 2013 is not syncing messages, have difficulty in sending emails sometimes as it takes too long.  In fact the connection also is intermittent. Even if the task bar shows connected to exchange, it seems that is not the case since new emails
and any emails I compose dont work.  I have trouble shot the issue with my ISP and email service provide, but they havent resolved the issue  I have also done a TraceRoute and that shows no drops or problems to he exchange server.
Can someone please help me resolve this matter so I can continue to use Outlook 2013( running Windows 8.1) in both my computers which have the identical problem
Look forward to a solution soon
    Thanks

    Hi Angela
    Thanks for your message
To answer your questions, please note the following
    a) My account is set up in Cache Mode( not online mode)
    b) I am the only other user on the account
    c) When the connection to the exchange server is broken, I see upon clicking connection tab that there is no information in the box, and when I press reconnect it starts showing "connecting"
    d) When the connection to the server is there, it shows  connection as "established"
    e) Sorry I dont understand th meaning of CAS array in your environment?  Can you pls explain
Since yday I have been using Outlook 2010 on desktop and Outlook 2013 on my laptop using Exchange 2013 account.  So far all emails are syncing, and I can send emails from both computers. However, I am concerned that the connection can break-off anytime,
as it has done that in the past on both outlook versions.  The max time it has worked without any problem is 48 hrs and than after that the same issue of not connection, not syncing and unable to send emails happens
My ISP has checked and there is no network connectivity issues. My email service provider has trouble shot the issue many times, but to no positive results.  I have also changed the profile a few times, but the intermittent connectivity problem hasn't
    been resolved.
Can you identify the possible causes and more importantly a working permanent solution please
    Thanks
    Mahesh

  • MAC Office 2011 continues to disconnect from Exchange server.

Just install / deploy a new iMAC running OSx 10.9.5 and MAC Office / Outlook 14.4.5 (141003).  After a period of idle time the Outlook client indicates "not connected to <exchange server>".  Have to exit and re-open / relaunch Outlook
client in order to get the client to update / sync.   Tried recreating account / profile -- doesn't resolve issue.
    OWA works fine / smartphone works fine too;
Windows PC running Windows 7 and Office 2013 works fine too.
    Please Help.
    Thank you,
    Bill

    Hi Bill,
Based on my knowledge, here are some differences between Outlook for Windows and Outlook for Mac when connecting to Exchange:
    1. Outlook for Windows accesses autodiscover via SCP, MAC Outlook
uses only the predefined URLs, the HTTP redirect check, or the DNS SRV lookup method. This is similar to what Outlook uses when it runs Autodiscover service from outside the organization’s network.
    2. Outlook for Windows use Outlook Anywhere (RPC over HTTP) to connect to Exchange 2013 while Outlook for Mac uses Exchange Web Services to communicate with the Exchange server.
Since the issue only happens in Mac users, I suggest we can ask a question in Outlook for Mac forum for more suggestion:

Additionally, here is an article that may be helpful to you:

  • You must connect to Microsoft Exchange with your current profile before you can synchronize your folders with your outlook data file (.ost).... OWA works but outlook 2013 does not, exchange server 2013 on Server standard 2012

I have read a lot of articles and tried a lot of things, but I cannot get outlook to connect to my exchange server. This is a test environment, I have tried making my own certificate and signing it through my own CA to no avail. I have completely disabled
windows firewall and stopped the service. I can ping between the two just fine by name or IP. I've tried not using cached mode, creating new profiles in outlook etc. I tried setting my CertPrincipalName to my FQDN in exchange powershell.
I am not an expert with exchange at all, but I feel like this should work with little to no configuration, instead I've wasted days on this. Half of the articles I've read don't seem to have solutions, and the other half have solutions that are not working
    for me.
I can access OWA and send emails on a client computer through OWA with no problems.
I am running a test domain on the same network as my current exchange 2003/sbs 2003 active environment, I don't know why this would be an issue, but if it is I cannot figure out why. The only thing I can see holding me back right now is not having a signed
certificate from digicert etc, and an official internet domain set up, but I don't think either of those things matter in my situation.
Any help is greatly appreciated and I'll gladly provide any other information requested to solve this issue, thank you.

  • Outlook Calendar invite - Not able to send from exchange server.

    Hi,
I am not able to send outlook calendar invite from exchange server. But if i installed outlook on my local machine/server it works fine. Below code the i used to build calendar invite for your reference.
      public static void sendOutlookInvitationViaICSFile1(EAppointmentMail objApptEmail)

Help me to send calendar invite without installing outlook on the specified server. Please do the needful.

    Hi
It is probably that the stuff you doing is for outlook and because outlook is not installed it cannot find the classes.
Hope this helps. Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

  • Exchange 2013 CU7 - Frequent Outlook 2013 Disconnections and Delays

We currently have the following environment:
Windows 2012 VM on Hyper-V with 24GB of RAM and 4 virtual procs (1 socket)
    Cisco UCS, B200 M3 Blades
    Exchange 2013 CU7
Exchange 2007 is in our environment, but public folders have been removed and only a few stale, unused accounts exist on it.
    Two dual-role CAS/Mailbox servers
Mailbox servers are in a DAG
    MAPI/HTTP is our connection protocol
    .NET Framework 4.5.2
Clients are Outlook 2013 SP1 on Windows 7 and 8.1
(Currently round robin DNS, but we have a hardware load balancer we've temporarily taken out of the mix to solve this problem)
What we're seeing is frequent disconnections from Exchange, regardless of the CAS server. That is, both CAS servers will disconnect clients, but not at the same time.  When we look at the Exchange boxes, we notice that the CPU is 99% - 100% each time the
disconnections occur.  When we hunt down the IISWorker process causing the sudden CPU run, we see it comes back to the following app pools:
    MSExchangeMAPIFrontEndAppPool
    MSExchangeMAPIMailboxAppPool
(We were running RPC/HTTP, but switched to MAPI/HTTP to resolve the problem.  We had the same issue with equivalent RPC app pools at the time.)
Eventually, within a minute or two, the CPU load will decrease and the clients connected via that CAS will regain connection.  As you can imagine, the pain is felt more frequently by uncached clients--although everyone, regardless of caching, will see
    the disconnections.
Basically, the problem sounds exactly as shown in this KB:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2995145  Unfortunately, we already had .NET 4.5.2 installed, and have changed the environment variable and registry as shown in the article.
We're in contact with Microsoft Support, but thus far they're scratching their heads.
I'm clearing up all small errors to decrease the noise in the application error logs, but the most persistent one is Event ID 106 (MSExchange Common):
"Performance counter updating error. Counter name is Time in Resource per second, category name is MSExchange Activity Context Resources. Optional code: 2. Exception: The exception thrown is : System.InvalidOperationException: Instance 'ad-powershell-defaultdomain'
already exists with a lifetime of Process.  It cannot be recreated or reused until it has been removed or until the process using it has exited."
Loading/reloading and recreation of the performance counters does not fix the problem, by Microsoft Support or us.  Of course, this error existed before we started having issues; I'd just like to clean it up just in case it's a contributing factor.
    Has anyone seen anything similar?

We're using a Barracuda load balancer (641), but we've eliminated that as a source of the problem.  The CPU spikes and disconnections happen whether or not the load balancer is in use.
This problem is still ongoing, and we're still working with Microsoft Support.  Right now they're focused on our environment, but having combed through it numerous times, there's nothing that stands out. I suspect this is a bug in CU7 (yet I would
readily accept our environment being at fault if it means we can identify and resolve the problem), but that's not the road Support is going down.
We've looked at storage I/O on the VM hosts (disk responses are 10 MS or less), added double the CPUs to each mail server (for a total of 8, each), disabled TCP chimney offload, run numerous Experfwiz log collections, etc...  Now
the tech is focused on a particular mailbox database being the culprit because it also takes up more CPU when the MAPI app pools are gunning pretty high.  I suspect that it is a symptom and not the problem, but I have no choice but to follow his lead.
What is your environment like? Are you also CU7?  And did the problem show itself after a cumulative update was applied?

  • Help with Moving Emails from Exchange Server 2013

    Hi Team,
Help, I need a solution on how to copy incoming and outgoing emails together with their attachments and was hoping someone could help with a solution I need to find for this problem.
    1) I have a need to copy all incoming and outgoing emails & attachments from Exchange Server 2013 mailboxes on a daily basis, so they can be archived into an external 3rd party database overnight.
I believe that the first step is that I can set up another Exchange mailbox, through Journaling to receive these emails.
Is there any way that these emails can then be moved direct from the Journaling mailbox that I have created, to a shared folder on the network? If so what format would they be sent out as e.g. .msg, .ems and what is the process?
Failing that, could they be sent to an Outlook client (not another Exchange mailbox) on the network and stored in a .pst file? (I have a program that will export them from .pst)
I would really appreciate any assistance that you can provide in this matter.
    Regards, Greg.

    Hi,
You can set auto-forward on journaling mailbox and auto-forward emails to another mailbox. Why don’t directly archive the emails from the journaling mailbox “an external
    3rd party database”.

  • Outlook 2007 compatiable with Exchange server 2013

    Hi
I would like to ask, i have outlook 2007 and Exchange server 2013, when i configure outlook 2007, i fail to configuration, Is it outlook 2007 compaitable to exchange server 2013.

Yes, Outlook 2007 is supported. Make sure that the Outlook 2007 clients are fully updated. As a minimum, you need
    SP3 for office 2007,
    kb2687404 and
    kb2768023.
Again, the best approach is to have all office 2007 updates installed.

  • Migrate from Exchange Server 2011 to Mac OSX Lion Mail Server

    Hi all,
I'm looking to migrate from Exchange Server 2011 to Mac OSX Lion Mail Server.  I work for a company with roughly 30 employees and they use exchange for mail, contacts and calendars.  We want to take full advantage of OSX Server and to completly get off of exchange.
What are the best ways to do this?  Are there any tools available to help this process?

I agree with the points made by Strontium90. If you have any PCs then Apple's mail/contacts/calendar software is a poor choice. Kerio Connect as a mail/contacts/calendar server would not only support Macs but would also do a good job supporting PCs running Outlook.
If you are going to become a pure Apple site, then you could use just the Apple software and this would be cheaper than using Kerio. For 30 users this might be a suitable solution, however even in a pure Apple environment many people prefer Kerio. For example I find Kerio much more pleasent when dealing with email addresses across multiple domains, email aliases, email group addresses, and so on. Kerio also has built-in email archiving, that is keeping a record of all emails. Kerio also provides a web-browser client for accessing email, calendar and contacts. It is worth noting that as standard Mountain Lion Server no longer includes a webmail feature. While I personally find the Kerio webclient rather ugly it does work.
There are some annoyances I have with Kerio, firstly they have always charged a 'maintenance' fee for their software. This provided access to software updates, and in the past also provided access to Kerio technical support. Unfortunately they now only let you make two (2) support cases per year for that cost, and you now have to pay extra for any more cases. Also while they added support for EWS (Exchange Web Service) to allow using Outlook 2011 for Mac as a supported email client, they did a poor job of this so that it does not work properly with any other EWS compatible client. This means it will not work in EWS mode with Apple Mail, nor with Outlook for Windows. While there are other ways to connect these other clients, this seems a foolish move and there have been plenty of requests to fix this.
Apple's Mail client uses EWS to connect to a 'real' MS Exhange server.

  • Error during disconnect from FTP Server

    Hi Everyone,
    Here's my problem:
XI has stopped picking the messages from the repository of one of servers.  Though, we have checked the XI system and can find no problems from the infrastructure side.  The adapters also show no errors and the communication channels show no errors.
We have also checked the log viewer in XI and found the following entry:
"Error during disconnect from frtp server ABC, ignored: com.sap.xxx.adapter.file.ftp.XXXXXX: 421 Terminating Connection."
This FTP error relates to what we FTP server says, "421 service not available, remote server has closed connection."
We looked at the server side, the server is working fine.
What do you think is the error? And do we resolve this one? I'm really clueless about this..Im thinking of just restarting the J2EE engine...
    Thanks,
    Grace

    Mary,
This question would be more relevant to the Xi forum... but on googling the error code..
    http://help.globalscape.com/help/support/Error_Codes/FTP_Codes.htm
Error 421 Service not available, closing control connection.
    Error 421 User limit reached
Error 421 You are not authorized to make the connection
    Error 421 Max connections reached
    Error 421 Max connections exceeded
    Possible Solutions:
You may receive a 421 error if the FTP server you are connected to limits the total number of connections available or limits the connections available to one user.  There are three things you can do:
    1. Limit the number of connections to any one FTP site by selecting Tools > Global Options > Connection and set "Per site max connections / transfers" to 1 (By default it will be set to 2).
    2. Remove items from the Transfer Queue.  The Transfer Queue is where you see items ready for transfer, in transit, or just transferred.  Sometimes the Queue Pane can become cluttered with unfinished transfers.  To clear the queue, right-click inside it and choose Remove All.
Also try using an FTP manager like cuteFTP or something of that sort to see if you can open the connection - it could be related to the FTP settings...

    Hope it helps....

  • Outlook 2013 with Office365 exchange Scheduling assistant not retrieving free/busy information

Hi, we are using Outlook 2013 with Office365 Exchange and when using the Scheduling assistant in Outlook users are seeing "No Information. No free/busy information could be retrieved".  The scheduling assistant works fine in OWA.
I have spent time trying to find an answer on the web but most answers involve different exchange variations.
    Mark

    Hi,
Since the problem only exists on Outlook Client, we can try running Outlook with the switch "/cleanfreebusy", this will clear and regenerate free/busy information:
outlook.exe /cleanfreebusyin the blank box, then press Enter.
You can also switch between Online and Cached Mode to check if there's a difference.
