Outlook 2013 messages removed from inbox

I am using a local installed copy of Outlook 2013 with Office 365 online as the exchange. As messages come into the inbox, they only remain there for only several seconds and then are removed. I have checked all rules and message views. I have tried recreating
the account and a new .ost but it starts doing it again only after a short time. If I check the "View on server" button under the Folder tab, the missing messages are there, obviously since I am viewing the online folder. I have noticed the sync
issues folder is constantly having sync issues with the following errors:
Any help is much appreciated!

Hi,
Please close Outlook and only use Outlook Web App (OWA) to receive messages to check whether the issue also happens in OWA. If the issue doesn't happen in OWA but only in Outlook client, please start Outlook in safe mode to check whether the issue persists:
Click Start > Run > type Outlook.exe /safe and enter
If the issue continues in Outlook safe mode, we can consider to configure this Office 365 account in another computer to check whether the issue can be reproduced.

    Hey Team,
We have a single user who when she deletes items from the Inbox they re-appear (in the inbox), if she is running in cached exchange mode. The items do not re-appear in OWA.
She is not experiencing any network connectivity issues
We have rebuilt her MAPI profile including deleting all existing OST files
We have removed and reinstalled outlook / office 2013
She is the only user with the issue
    There are no Sync issues
As soon as we disable cached exchange mode this issue immediately goes away, she is running Office 2013 RTM.
    Any Ideas,
    Thanks,

    Hi Robert,
If change another PC to configure her mailbox within outlook 2013, is there the same issue?
In addition, you can try to move her mailbox to another database and check if any helps.

  • Email removed from inbox

I am having an issue with one of my email accounts where email are being removed from inbox automatically.  They go to the inbox and then they just disappear.  If i forward the email to another user the mail is not deleted....
    Any ideas?

From the Mail menu bar, select
    Mail ▹ Preferences ▹ Accounts ▹ Advanced
and from the popup menu labeled Keep copies of messages for offline viewing, select
    All messages and their attachments
If there's no improvement, you may have to switch from IMAP to POP access.

  • Messages not removed from Inbox when deleted on iphone

My company has an exchange based mail system and they provide imap access for devices like the iphone.
I set up the iphone to connect to the server and can read messages just fine. I set the Deleted items option in the Settings app for Mail to be the Deleted Items folder on the server.
When I delete the messages on the iphone this is what happens:
    1) The message disappears from the Inbox on the phone.
    2) The message appears in the Trash on the phone.
    3) The message appears in the Deleted Items folder on the server (as viewed from my normal work computer).
    4) The message stays in the Inbox folder on the server.
So, in sum, things do what they are supposed to do on the phone. On the server, I wind up with 2 copies of the same message - one in Inbox and one in Deleted Items.
I will point out that the same behavior occurs when I try to move an item from any folder to any other from the iphone. The message winds up in both the original and the target folders....
What do I need to do to set it up so that messages are removed from the originating folder on a delete or move?
    Thanks

    Sounds like typical POP behavior.
Is your mail account POP or IMAP?
If POP, then your mail activities are normal, that's how POP operates.
If it's IMAP, contact your server admin, as IMAP should be reflecting all activity across all devices with that specific account on it.

  • Using Mail Rules, how do I remove from inbox my moved messages?

My goal is decluttering my inbox, so all mailing list group messages go to their respective mailboxes, and my general inbox only shows personal messages.
In Mail 7.0 under Mavericks, I can use Rules to move a message to an IMAP folder on a remote server or to a mailbox folder on my Mac. An example would be moving to a folder all the mail from a particular sender, like a Yahoo group, so I can go to that folder and see in on eplace all the mail related to that sender.
However, when a message has been moved to another folder, that mail message remains in the general inbox. I want such moved messages to vanish from my general inbox at the same time as they are moved to distinctive mailbox folders by the Rules filters.
Smart mailboxes may help, but my attempts so far have not made the moved messages leave my inbox. I may well be missing something, though.
FYI, under Mountain Lion, using Mail Rules, I was able to move some specific types of mail to a mailbox folder on my Mac, and in those cases the mail did vanish from my inbox. The problem was the this rule protocol worked in a few cases but not in most of the others, so the results were inconsistent. Also, moving the mail to a folder on my Mac consumed disk space, so I would rather move messages to a folder on a remote mail server, so my computer keeps more free disk space, but I do not know who to make such moved message leave my inbox.
I am wide open to experienced users sharing your wisdom.

  • Yahoo mail not removed from inbox ios7

I have an iPhone 4s with ios 7.0.2.  I have 2 different yahoo accounts that are showing the same issue.  If I delete or move an email from my yahoo inbox on my PC either via web or mail client, they still show in the inbox on my iPhone.  Even if I manually update the accounts (swipe down) they still are there.  I have tried waiting 10-15 minutes with the same result.  If I use the task manager to close mail and then re start it, they immediately are removed from the inbox.  Has anyone else noticed this issue?

Check whether the same happens if Preferences > Accounts > Advanced > Remove copy from server is OFF, i.e. if messages aren’t supposed to be removed from the server at all. I’ve seen it reported in other cases that messages were removed from the server even with that setting OFF, but it ended up being a server issue that happened when using other mail clients as well — and IIRC it also was a Yahoo account...
Try disabling the account in Mail (i.e. turn OFF Preferences > Accounts > Advanced > Enable this account), or just don’t run Mail at all, set up the account in another mail client such as Thunderbird, and see what happens.
If you set up the account in Thunderbird, refuse to download anything when asked to do so immediately afterwards (so that you can customize the server settings first), then in the account’s Server Settings turn ON Leave messages on server if you don’t want the messages to be removed from the server as a result of downloading them with Thunderbird. If messages that you would like to have in Mail end up being removed from the server nevertheless, you may use Eudora Mailbox Cleaner to import them from Thunderbird into Mail.

  • Outlook 2013 Message Recall failure loop!

    Hello Everyone,
Yesterday my colleague has sent email by mistake after that she use recall feature in outlook 2013 with option "Tell me if recall succeeds or fails for each recipient".
Now her email receive a lot of notifications every minutes that show
    " Message Recall Failure: Recall:
cannot be recalled on 1/17/2015 4:25 PM. "
My email client is Outlook 2013 and My company email is integrated with Google mail. Not using Exchange Server.
Please kindly help advise me about to stop this notification.
    Best Regards,
    Chinda Sam

    Hi,
The recall feature requires users to use Exchange Server, as you are not using Exchange, you should not try any message recalls.
Some other email service may also support the recall feature, but you need to confirm with Gmail though.
You can switch Outlook to Work Offline, delete the sent message and all the failure messages, then switch from "Work Offline" to normal mode, check the result again.

in outlook 2013 - when trying to move a few emails that were found from search results to various folders - the emails doesn't move to the folder that i specify.
    no error message!

    Hi,
What type of email account are you using?
How did you move the emails? Via dragging/dropping or right-clicking and selecting Move? Please try both methods to see the result.
I used to see a similar issue caused by a problematic add-in. Please try starting Outlook in safe mode to see if this issue continues. To do this, press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type
outlook /safe and press Enter. If the problem would be gone in safe mode, please go to File > Options > Add-ins and disable suspicious add-ins to fix the issue.
Please let me know the result.

  • Cannot accept tasks from outlook 2013 or even from web

I am using Outlook 2013 64 bit Pro Plus and I tried to assign tasks to other emails (hotmail, outlook, office365) that assigned also to Outlook 2013 but I cannot find accept or decline button for the task, Also the task does not appear correctly.
Why I cannot find accept or decline task button ?

    Thank you for the update.
We can’t assign tasks from an Exchange account to a Hotmail account.
But, if we want to assign tasks from an Exchange server account to another one which use a different Exchange server, we need to run the PowerShell described in the article I mentioned before to enable the TNEF.
If you want to assign tasks from O365 .edu to another O365 .edu, I believe this can be done. But for your situation, you want to assign tasks from an Office 365 .edu account to an external Exchange account, I’m not sure if this is possible. The
remote domains setting is controlled by Exchange Hub, Hub can do this within the organization but not sure if it’s out of the organization.
Since we are not the best resource for Office 365, you can post your question in Office 365 forum to get further assistance:

  • Outlook 2013 messages send but are still showing in the Outbox

    Hi,
For the last month or so I've noticed on my personal PC that when I reply to email in Outlook 2013 the replies send but they also remain in my Outbox. This is a super confusing and annoying phenomenon.
Our environment is Exchange, I am online when sending (not using cached exchange mode/whatever).
Can anyone provide any insight into what is happening?
I'm considering switching back to Outlook 2010.

    Hi,
I'm marking the reply as answer as there has been no update for a couple of days.
If you come back to find it doesn't work for you, please reply to us and unmark the answer.

  • Outlook 2013 stuck in 'updating inbox' cycle

I have a problem with a couple of users and I have never been able to find a definitive fix and its incredibly irritating.
I know a few people have has this problem, a users mailbox works fine and then suddenly it will stop sending emails, it then gets stuck in a 'updating mailbox' 'Last updated at xx:xx' cycle. This is a local install of Outlook 2013 connecting to a hosted
    exchange server.
Recreating the mail profile has been done with one user at least twice and the problem still persists. It was fine last week and then this morning it stopped again. I am trying to recreate the problem on another PC for this one user as I am trying to work
out if its a connection problem or PC problem.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Derrick,
Are you using Cached Exchange mode or Online mode? If the user is in Cached Exchange mode, what's the size of his/her mailbox (.ost file)?
The issue may be caused by some network issue. Please check the Outlook connection status when this issue happen again. To do this, press and hold down Ctrl key, click on the Outlook icon on the system tray area, and then choose Connection Status.
Or, if possible, simply connect Outlook to a different network, then verify result.

  • Outlook 2013 & Proxied accounts, FROM address not defaulting correctly

    Hello,
We are hosted by Microsoft for our email. We have been on Outlook 2010 for a couple of years without any issues. I have proxy access to two other mailboxes for support purposes. Up until last Thursday, when I replied to an email in the support mailbox, the
default FROM address was the address for that mailbox. Last Thursday, something changed somewhere so the default FROM address is now my personal mailbox. I do have access to send mail from the proxied accounts so it isn't a rights issue. I am able to change
the FROM address each time I reply but this is cumbersome. My personal email should never be going out on replies but remembering has been a chore since it always used to work correctly.
Our helpdesk had me install a plugin called unisend which did fix one related issue but didn't correct the issue I'm experiencing. I have talked with our senior network engineer and mail administrator and both confirm they did not make any changes. I did
upgrade my PC to Office 2013 in hopes that something became corrupted with my installation (that the upgrade would fix) but that did not correct the problem.
    Ideas?

    Hi there,
We have received many reports as your description since last week. It sounds like the sending behavior in Outlook 2010 has been changed by some Windows/Office update and goes back to the behavior before.
Before we go any further, I have to mention some of the history for Outlook 2010. In Outlook 2010 without SP1, Mailto’s will use the default/principal account for message when you use Microsoft Outlook 2010 which has multiple accounts delivered to different
data file. However, in later version (Outlook 2010 SP1/SP2), Outlook doesn’t use the default account set in Account settings for new messages. Instead, it uses the account associated with the mailbox or *.pst file you have in focus.
Actually, this behavior is controlled by the registry keys. At this point, I suggest we check the following registry entries are exist and set it to the proper value.
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\XX.0\Outlook\Options\Mail
    DWORD value: NewItemsUseDefaultSendingAccount
Value type: REG_DWORD: 1 for force, 0 to disable.
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\XX.0\outlook\options
    Value Name: ForceAccountSelection
Value type: REG_DWORD: 1 for force, 0 to disable.
Close the registry editor and restart Outlook to check if the behavior what you want would come back.
In addition, our Outlook MVP, Diane Poremsky has written an article with more detail information:
    http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/outlook-2010/multiple-accounts-and-the-default-account/
By the way, we still cannot figure out which update is the root of the issue, if someone could test it and share the result here, I would appreciate that. Feel free to post back.

  • Messages vanish from Inbox when I click on them

This has happened a few times. I can't figure out why.
This seems to apply to messages that are only a few seconds old. Either it disappears a moment after I've clicked on it, or it simply vanishes moments after appearing in my Inbox. It's not in Junk or any other mailbox. I've disabled filters.
It only happens once or twice a month, but it's still a problem since I have to ask the sender to re-send the email, and I'm not sure which emails have disappeared without my noticing.
    Advice?

    Andrew,
    Welcome to the Discussions.
What type of account(s) are you using -- POP, IMAP or .mac?
Did you set up your accounts from scratch, on your MBP, or by transfer of the Mail folder from another Mac?
    More info, please.
