Outlook 2013 / Multiple Access /Registry Rights

Hello,
we upgrade our Office from XP to 2013. Let me explain our situation. For Example we have 3 AD user staa99, staa99-1 and staa99-2. Every User is a separate AD user. But know the special feature. All 3 Users work with the
same profile and the same folder redirection. We have a group with name grp-staa99 and all 3 Users are member of this group. Permission of Profile/FolderReridrection/Userhome are set to this group. All 3 User work with a Mailbox
from Type Shared. With Office XP everything is fine. But since Outlook 2013 we have massive problems with this "system". The "first" User who setup the Mailbox can word with Outlook. The 2 other users get a error message if the start Outlook.
"Outlook cannot be startet" In the registry HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Profiles are the rights set to the single user. I change this to the group but after restart Outlook the premission are "reset to default". This is
my problem. Is there a solution for this problem?
Thanks
michael

Seems that you've upgrade Office from XP to 2013, what about the migration story for operation system or Windows server version is?
I suspect that you've configured the mandatory user profile in your environment. Profiles controlled by administrators are called mandatory profiles. Users who have a mandatory profile can only make transitory changes to their environment.
Here, any changes that users make to the local environment aren't saved.
Managing User Profiles
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb726990.aspx
To change the configeration in this kind of profile, you must change it back to NTUSER.DAT, define the setting in that profile and then create Roaming/Mandatory profile. Thanks.

  • Outlook 2013 - Multiple accounts set up in Outlook for same pop email account

I started having issues receiving emails in Outlook from my existing POP email account at Yahoo, so I set up a new account and deleted the old one in Outlook 2013.  This fixed the problem in that the new account was successfully receiving emails from
    Yahoo.
Outlook now continues to show the old account (and the folders within it) in the left hand menu as well as new account.
Is there a way to merge these two accounts?

When you setup POP3 account in Outlook, it would connects server and download the message item to data file - .pst file. It stored in the local drive and we can manage it as we thought:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287070/en-us
From your post, it seems that you've completed to setup the new account and remain the old one in the same Outlook profile. If you want to merge the message items from the old PST to new one, just select all items from old folders and move all them to the
new folder. (We may also move the folder directly)
To remove the old account, please first set the new email account as the default one and then go to  File > Info > Account settings > Select the old one and remove it.
    Thanks.

  • Outlook 2013 Multiple exchange accounts without entering pwd on tablet or mobile phone

Hello, We are using exchange server and offiche 365.
On destop and laptop computers we can share (parts of) mailboxes and caladars of multiple users. You can configure this with account settings, more.
Is it possible to do this on windows/android tablets or smartphones?
If so how can we configure this?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Do you mean you'd like to access your email or calendar on Windows/Android tablets or smartphone?
You should be able to install Outlook on your Windows tablet, which usually runs a regular version of Windows system on it (for Surface with Windows RT, it has Office RT pre-installed for free. This includes Outlook RT). Then you can use it just like the
    desktop version.
For the Android tablet or smartphones, we have Outlook for Android app (or Microsoft Outlook Preview) available from the Google Play Store, you can install it on your device, then configure your mail account by going to tap Settings > Add Account. Or
you can access your email by using the built-in mail app.
However, some features might not be available on these apps, for example, when you set up an Exchange account on a smartphone, it opens your mailbox, not the shared mailbox.
Of course, you can access all your mail items via Outlook Web App on these devices.
Here is the reference you might need:
Install and set up Office on an Android tablet with Office 365
If this doesn't help, please try to be more specific on your questions, then we will have a further look.

  • New Outlook 2013 Installation - How to configure for default pop email and access exchange 2003 server for shared folders only

I have successfully installed and configured outlook 2013 to access my pop.integra.net email accounts.  We have an 2003 exchange server we use for shared folders which I am having difficulty accessing.
My preference would be to set up my access to the exchange server and use the same data folders for email as are in use for my pop email account.  In outlook 2003 this was simple, but in 2007 on up it seems this feature has been hobbled.  Is there
a workaround to get both accounts to use the same database?
Next issue is if I use the Mail client wizard under Control Panel to set up access to the exchange server - everything looks fine but when launching outlook I receive the following 2 error messages:
"The resource that you are trying to use is located on an unsupported version of Microsoft Exchange.  Contact your e-mail administrator for assistance."
"Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened.  Your Microsoft Exchange administrator has blocked the version of Outlook that your are using.  Contact your administrator for assistance."
Obviously the optimal solution is to upgrade the Exchange Server - assuming that is not an option - are there any workarounds?
    Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Downgraded to Office 2007.
So now have a new Windows 8.1 laptop with outlook 2007 installed.
From what I have been told this should allow me to connect to the Exchange2003 server
I set up the pop account - works fine
set up the exchange account through Mail.exe and am unable to launch outlook.
    "Microsoft Exchange is Unavailable"
"Retry - Work Offline - Cancel"
    Then
"Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook.  Cannot open the Outlook Window.  The set of folders cannot be opened.  The information store could not be opened."
The data file path is the same for both the pop account and the exchange account:
    C:\Users\Scott\app data\local\microsoft\outlook\outlook.pst
How do I get this to work?

  • Recieveing "OnUCAppointmentGetVisible" error in Outlook 2013 (64 bit) - "Custom UI Runtime Error in Lync Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office 2013"

    Hi All,
I originally posted this in the MS Support forums (http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2013_release-outlook/recieveing-onucappointmentgetvisible-error-in/1a40eca2-8cd1-40f1-a92f-cb08f0af6b72), but was directed over here.
I have recently upgraded an installation of Office 2010 to 2013 (both 64 bit) but am now receiving an error which says:
Window Title - "Custom UI Runtime Error in Lync Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office 2013"
An error occured while calling the callback: "OnUCAppointmentGetVisible"
This seem to happen when I initially open a calender entry, and when I close the entry (most only the first time I close the entry).
I did have some developer tools installed for Office 2010 and VS 2010 which played around with Excel,2013 but I have now uninstalled these.
In addition, BCM 2010 was installed (but for the time being has been uninstalled), but I don't think that is the culprit.
The issue is being caused be an Outlook add-in. I have three COM add-in enabled, but the one causing the issue in the "Lync Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office 2013".
We are currently trialling Lync in a demo installation which is in a different domain to any of the Exchange accounts, but should this cause a problem? For the time being I have disable this add-in.
    Regards,
    Chris
    Chris

    Hi,
Sorry for my misunderstanding. If the issue is determined to be caused by Lync Meeting Add-in, please remove this add-in from Outlook, then go to Control Panel to repair Office 2013 program. After repairing,
this add-in would be automatically reinstalled. Please check whether the issue persists. About how to repair Office programs, please refer to:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/repair-office-programs-HA010357402.aspx
If the Lync Meeting Add-in is not automatically reinstalled, please try to manually add this add-in by the following steps:
    1. Starting Outlook 2013 as an Administrator (right click, run as Admin).
    2. Click File > Options > Add-ins, Manage Com Add-Ins Go... > Add..., C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15\UCAddin.dll, OK.
    3. Close Outlook and start it as a normal user.

  • Outlook 2013 and iCloud contacts and calendar?

What does it take to get outlook 2013 to access my iCloud contacts and calendar?
I can log into ICloud and see my contacts and my calendar.  My iPhone works with iCloud just fine.
However, Outlook 2013 doesn't know iCloud has a calendar or contacts and I cannot access them. I have tried to add my iCloud contact file to Outlook 2013 but i must not be doing that correctly. I have tried to add my ICloud calendar file to outlook 2013 but i must not be doing that correctly either,  In Outlook 2013, when I click on either the "Calendar" or "People" at the bottom of the Outlook screen, what comes up is blank, no contacts, no calendar items.  I can long into iCloud and see the calendar and contacts just fine.
Surely, someone must know how to get this to work. I must not be adding the contact file or calendar file correctly in the Outlook 2013 Account Settings.  I cannot find any place where it discusses these settings.  I have tried to add them as https://www.icloud.com/#contacts or #calendar.  That has not worked.  Can anyone explain to me what I have to do to get these two products to communicate with each other?
    Gary

I have to say that I have gone through this setup several times by removing the check items on the icloud control panel and rechecking them and it accomplished nothing.  This time when I opened up the icloud control panel, the calendar item was unchecked.  Don't know why.  I checked it and it went through a process of moving a few thousand items into outlook.  When I opened outlook, my contacts and calendar items were there.
Thank you for the guidance.  I have contacts and calendar items available now.  Great news.

  • I cannot email attachment directly from Acrobat to Outlook 2013.

I get the message "there is no default mail client"  But outlook is correctly set as default.  can email from other apps, just not acrobat. I have differnt computers with different systems and each cannot email to outlook.
Using Acrobat 11 Standard to Outlook 2013 64bit under Win 8.1 Pro 64bit and Acrobat 9 to Outlook 2013 64bit under Win 7 Pro 64bit.  Also, Acrobat 11 to Outlook 2013 64 bit under Win 7 Pro 64 bit. The common element is Outlook 2013, but Microsoft Tech says it is a Adobe issue since other apps work.  Was using Acrobat 9 to Outlook 2003 32bit under Win XP 32bit.
Is there an issue with 32 bit Acrobat to 64bit Outlook 2013?

Yes.  I discovered that. So I upgraded Acrobat to v11.0.5 on that computer.  I have 2 computers in my network, both run Win 7 Pro 64bit; Acrobat 11.0.5; Outlook 2013 64bit.  Each computer will not email, returned the message "there is no default mail client". (Each computer has a separate license for Acrobat, Outlook 2013)
Edited the registry in 1 computer, it worked. This computer was running Acrobat 11.0.0 at the time of the registry edit.  Acrobat upgraded automatically to v11.0.5 it corrupted the registry files, Outlook would not open until it rejected the Acrobat Add-in "Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Addin".  This happened in both computers. I then edited the registry in the other computer and it worked.
Each computer boots up to "there is no default mail client" pop up. Ran repair in both Acrobat and Outlook, didn't work. No issue other than the Addins corrupts Outlook 2013. Each computer has the same issue.  Home computer with Win 8 Pro 64bit, Acrobat 11.0.5, Outlook 2013 64bit, with Addins and registry edit, is working fine.
The issue seems to be 32bit Acrobat conflicts with 64bit Outlook 2013. What does the Addin do?

  • Can't schedule meeting on resouce mailbox (Exchange Online) using Outlook 2013

    Hi,
Here on my organization we use some resource mailboxes to schedule the meetings on our meeting rooms.
There are 5 users as owners and everyone else has only Limited details on them.
Today, on my Outlook 2010, I just open the calendar, go to the room I want. Search for an available date/time and double click (or right click and select Request New Meeting). Then it opens a new windows with the room on the "To:" box and
I can fill the other details.
Then I recieve an e-mail saying that my meeting is waiting for approval.
One of the owners approve and then my meeting appears to everyone on the organization.
No one was having problems with that... but today, using Outlook 2013, users just can't double click to send a request of a meeting. It says that the user doesn't have the rights to do it. The only way is to click on the "New Meeting" button and
then add the room in the "To:" box.
So... I was reading some comments about "Direct booking" not working anymore for Outlook 2013. Is it right? I mean... It's a downgrade for my point of view.
On Outlook 2010 it works everytime (tried creating the same user account on my machine and worked like a charm).
Today I verified that, after uninstalling and reinstalling Office 2013 on the user machine:
On Outlook 2013 version 15.0.4433.1506 is working.
On Outlook 2013 version 15.0.4701.1000 it's not working booking a meeting using double click.
So is not a rights problem. Is an update problem.
    Any1?

since a few days Outlook 2013 keeps crashing repeatedly within the first minute after starting.

    Hi,
Did you installed any add-in for your Outlook? Please try to start Outlook in safe mode to check if the issue continues. To do this, press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type
    outlook.exe /safe and press Enter.
If the issue would be gone in safe mode, please go to File > Options > Add-ins and disable suspicious add-in to resolve the problem.
If this issue persists in safe mode, please try to navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\NetPhone Client and register the secman.dll to check the result. To do this, press Windows + R and type
cmd in the Run command, type
    regsvr32.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\NetPhone Client\secman.dll
Restart Outlook to check the result.
Please let me know the result.

  • How to transfer multiple account emails from Mac Thunderbird to Windows Outlook 2013 ?

I have around 5 email accounts that I access at regular intervals. I have managed to keep these accouts from years and maintained each email in dufferent folders. Now I am about to give away my mac book and switch over to windows system. All I want is to
transfer the emails from Mac Thunderbird to Outlook in windows. I have transferred the datsbase files of each account from mac to windows laptop but dont know hoe to import these to Outlook 2013. These is no such option to import the thunderbird files in Outlook
    2013.
Is there anything I am doing incorrect???
Please help me Migrate all the Thunderbird data to Outlook 2013.

You can add multiple accounts in Outlook and use them separately. But to transfer your emails from Mac Thunderbird you first need to convert the emails of Thunderbird to .PSt format in order to import into Outlook Windows.
There are multiple options available online as this is a common issue.

  • Multiple IMAP issues in Outlook 2013

I know a lot of work has gone on with IMAP changes behind the scenes to make everything more responsive but some of these changes have adversely affected usability.
Here are my 3 main gripes:
    1. If you have Outlook in Folder View so that you can see the "Sync Issues" folder you will see that Outlook 2013 now logs all activity to this folder and one ends up with thousands of entries per day filling this folder. I don't want these. Can I reduce
    logging?
    2. If you delete, edit or create IMAP folders to your account outside of Outlook you really have to fight to get Outlook to see the changes. Sometimes you have to remove the IMAP account completely and add it again just to get a proper view of the changes.
This is definitely something to do with the new caching regime. As an example Outlook does not seem to want to let go of folders deleted outside of Outlook (orphaned folders) and insists they still exist. For instance I can still move messages into these orphans
and Outlook accepts them and agrees they are there even though the folder no longer exists on the server. This is an accident waiting to happen.
    3. This is a bug. If I delete a group of unread messages, usually, all except the top one show as deleted and ready to purge (grey with a line through). The top one remains not deleted and unread. As soon as I mark it as read it will then show as deleted
and ready to purge (grey with a line through).

I tested it just now. The registry data I mentioned is really aimed at either decreasing synch logging or to stop specific types of conflicts.
So I can confirm that we cannot turn off this folder base on current product design. This folder is designed for getting the basic troubleshooting information of Client Access issue.
Anyway, I am thinking two way for workaround:
    1. Hide the sync issue folder via MFCMAPI, visit the following link to do that.
    http://www.howto-outlook.com/howto/hidemovedeletemfcmapi.htm#hide
    2. Create a Outlook rule to remove the items which is belongs to sync issue folder.
If someone has a better idea, please share it here. Thanks.
    Cheers,

  • User Access to Public Folders Disappearing (Outlook 2013)

I have one particular user who is losing access to public folders in Outlook 2013.  I have found that going to
File > Account Settings > Account Settings > Email [TAB] > Repair... and then following through that dialog temporarily restores public folder access after restarting Outlook.  However, once Outlook is restarted
for 30-60 seconds, the public folders disappear again. This is only happening for this one user.  They receive their public folder permissions via group membership.  Other group members report no such issue. I had another user with identical permissions
log into the same workstation and they again had no issue.
What could be causing this? This is a particularly bothersome problem since this user happens to be the office scheduler and the calendar they schedule on is public (which, thanks to reduced functionality in Exchange 2013, is no longer accessible in OWA).
Tech specs: Exchange 2013 CU5 accessed from Outlook 2013 running on Windows 8.1 Update.  Outlook did not log any events during the time when public folders were dropped, nor are there any network connectivity issues being logged.
    Any ideas for resolving this?

    Hi,
Please check the connection status for Outlook.
Press the CTRL key and right-click the Outlook icon in the notification area, then select Connection Status.
Please run the command get-mailbox administrator | fl defaul* to check the default public folder mailbox for this affected user.
Do you have mail-enabled public folders? If you have mail-enabled public folders, you can check if this user can view public folders in OWA.
If possible, please re-add the public folder permissions for this user to check result.

  • Outlook 2013: Accessing Exchange with Outlook OST on mulitple machines?

My organization recently transitioned to off-site Exchange servers.  Users were upgraded to Office 365 / Outlook 2013 using OST files (PST files previously)
In addition to my work laptop, I have Outlook 2013 available on a personal Surface Pro 3.  I cannot find a definitive answer on whether it will be a problem to run Outlook 2013 from both machines using an OST file.  Will the two OST files on different
platforms create sync issues?  I have access to Outlook Web Access on the Surface, but prefer the Outlook desktop application for quick steps and other tools not available on OWA.

    Hi,
There are many people who use .ost files on multiple machines, this is ok.
Each .ost file synchronizes with the mailbox on Exchange/Exchange Online, they don't directly interact with other .ost files on other machines. Once the synchronization is done, each .ost file should match the data in the mailbox and there won't be problems
to have multiple .ost files on multiple machines.

  • Drafts folder relocation Outlook 2013 and Gmail IMAP and multiple saves to trash folder

    Hi,
I have Office professional 2013 32 bit running on Win 7 64bit. I have an issue that I know has been discussed but I see no resolution.
The drafts are saved on the server not locally and the trash folder fills with multiple copies of the draft, the number of copies appears to relate to the time of editing the draft. I have to go in and delete these copies in Trash after writing an email.
Outlook 2013 does not allow me to remap the drafts folder I click unsubscribe and it says the folder is a special folder and cannot be unsubscribed in Outlook. I use the account on my iPhone and this allows me to unsubscribe from the folder.
Has anyone found a solution or is anyone working on a resolution for this problem?
    Best regards,
    Clive
    Regards, Clive

I am having a similar problem with trash receiving multiple copies of some drafts. In last 20 minutes 19 copies of a draft have been included in trash. It seems to happen when I view a draft --but not solely
Using Outlook 2013 with IMAP GMail on windows 7 on a laptop. It synchs with my IPHONE. Yesterday I called Dell Support. They said it was a virus -- though a thorough scan found one item --it was deleted and problem continues.
