Outlook 2013 Refuses Send/Receive

After my computer downloaded Windows updates automatically earlier today, when I click 'send/receive' Outlook 2013 (Microsoft Office 365) gives me a 'not implemented' error message.
I have disabled my anti-virus software. When I click 'Disable Scheduled Send/Receive' as suggested on some forums I get the error 'An OLE registration error occured. The program is not correctly installed. Run Setup again for the program.'
I am running Windows 8.
When I try to uninstall Outlook I get 'Sorry We Ran Into A Problem. Error Code: 30175-4'.
How can I get Outlook to send/receive messages? Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi,
Have you tried recreating your send/receive settings file (srs-file)? Navigate to
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook and then rename the
<mail profile>.srs file to <mail profile>.old. Restart Outlook to check if the issue persists. For more information about error 'not implemented', please refer:
http://www.msoutlook.info/question/825
For the 'An OLE registration error occured. The program is not correctly installed. Run Setup again for the program.' error, you can try to run the
Regsvr32 ole32.dll command to check if it helps. See:
http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/email/error-an-ole-registration-error-occurred/
Please let me know the result.

    Hi Tom,
Does the issue reoccurs in OWA? If the issue only occurs in Outlook clients, it is recommended to post it in Outlook ITPro forum
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/outlook/threads Your understanding would be appreciated.
Just for your reference, the issue might be caused by various factors, for example: anti-virus application, third party addins, PST curroption, etc. You may run Outlook in Safe mode, or try the possible resolution below:

    Hi,
Is there any update with your issue?
If the CAS and Mailbox servers are collocated on the same server, the SMTP Receive connection for the Transport service will listen on 2525 instead of 25. If you install the CAS and Mailbox on the same server, please make sure that port 2525 is open.

  • Outlook 2013 wont send SMS texts

    Hi All
I've used Outlook 2010 on Windows 7 for a few years on my SBS2011 system to send/receive SMS texts fine through exchange 2010 to my Samsung S3 and out. I've now updated to Windows 8 and Outlook 2013 and have come across a problem.
If I type in a new SMS message in Outlook 2013 and press send I get an immediate box pop up saying 'Check names' Microsoft Outlook does not recognise '<mobile number>'. There is nothing I can do to remove the box so I can't send. I've turned off the
'check names' option in Outlook to no avail. If I reply to a new incoming text it works fine, but it wont send any new ones..... does anyone have any words of wisdom as to why it seems to be looking to marry up mobile numbers, which should be able to be entered
    randomly and manually?
I've tried adding numbers to a contact to no avail, as have enclosed the number in square brackets and added the international code +44..... also to no avail....

But i found an answer that seems to work!  Thank you, AT&T!
Re: how to send text message to Cell phone via computer
You need to know the recipient phone's carrier.
If you were texting AT&T phones: 10digitphonenumber  at   att.net
There is more information if you Google "att send text from computer", but this forum won't let me post links... :)

  • Outlook 2010 cannot send/receive mail AND states mailbox is being optimized due to upgrade AND outlook hotmail connector needs updating.

As of 2014-March, the same thing happening on my system. This seems to have occurred, after the latest batch of 28 patches (including SP2 - KB2687455) from Microsoft Updates applied on 13-Mar-2014 and 19-Mar-2014.  I have been running Outlook 2010
    since it was first available.
An unhelpful error is thrown, after trying to manually perform a Send/Receive:
    Not Implemented
While in Outlook 2010, clicking FILE > INFO reveals the following warnings in red:
"Upgrade in Progress. Your mailbox is currently being optimized as part of upgrade to Outlook 2010. This one time process may take over 15 minutes and performance may be affected while the optimization is in progress."
There's an "Upgrade Now" button but it fails to produce any visible result. Next to the button, another warning in red:
"You must upgrade to the latest version of Outlook Hotmail Connector to continue using this e-mail account."
Again, I do not have the Outlook Hotmail Connector installed. Nor have I recently upgraded to Outlook 2010.
I am unable to access ANY account settings, as well as poll my various mailboxes.
While reviewing the list of installed updates (Control Panel > Programs and Features > View Installed Updates), there are 28 approximate patches -
specifically, Service Pack 2 (KB2687455) - that were recently applied to Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010.
Microsoft, what the #$%# is going on?
I've read some related posts that suggest the core issue is other than what Outlook is reporting.  The posts recommend the following.  However, in my case, the below steps did not correct the
issue.  In fact, the new profile would not allow me to view/manage the associated accounts or data files.
    (1) Remove your current Outlook Profile. No worries - this doesn't affect your mail data (.PST files):
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-au/outlook-help/remove-a-profile-HP010356455.aspx
    (2) Create a new Outlook Profile:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-au/outlook-help/introduction-to-profiles-HA010355553.aspx
Note: Outlook complained "An unknown error occurred, error code: 0x80040154."  However, exiting the Mail config window and relaunching shows that the new profile is intact.
    (3) If you previously had the Outlook Hotmail Connector installed, reinstall it.  If not, then just ignore and the warning should go away after creating a new Profile.
    32-bit connector: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=24677

I was able to resolve this issue as follows.  However, why it occurred is unknown at this time and
unrelated to a corrupted Outlook Profile, as mentioned on my prior post.  It seems highly probable that it was caused by the recent batch of Microsoft Updates for this product which included Service Pack (SP) 2.
    1) Performed a "repair" of Outlook 2010, via the Control Panel > Programs and Features.
    2) Rebooted.
    3) Prior to launching Outlook, returned to Control Panel > Mail and configured the location of my PST file (not in default directory).
    4) Had to reestablish as off my mail accounts, settings/preferences/etc. This step was the most tedious and frustrating.

  • Outlook 2013 messages send but are still showing in the Outbox

    Hi,
For the last month or so I've noticed on my personal PC that when I reply to email in Outlook 2013 the replies send but they also remain in my Outbox. This is a super confusing and annoying phenomenon.
Our environment is Exchange, I am online when sending (not using cached exchange mode/whatever).
Can anyone provide any insight into what is happening?
I'm considering switching back to Outlook 2010.

  • Stop Outlook from Automated Send/Receive

Is there any way within the Oracle Beehive Connector so that receiving of email is not done automatically? I could make it offline but I would prefer not to do that.

    Hello,
From the Oracle Beehive extension for Outlook (OBEO) nope you can't. Actually such a setting is not managed within OBEO, but rather by Outlook itself.
You can change the Outllok setting.
Go to Tools - Options - Mail Setup - Send/Receive
    Click on the Send/Receive button
Under "Setting for group "All Accounts"" uncheck the box " Schedule an automatic send/receive every XX minutes"
Doing that you should manually click on the Send/Receive button to get your emails.
    Hope that Help

  • Outlook 2010 performs send/receive task twice

I've searched the net all over and found no other mention of this problem, so here I go. When I do a send/receive check, first I quickly get a 5 of 15 tasks completed successfully, then I get what I've set the program up for, and that's my 10 of 10 task
completed successfully. If I remove all tasks for my 10 of 10, both the 5 0f 15 and the 10 of 10  disappear, but when I set up my 10 receives only again, the 5 of 15 returns as well. Is there anyway to correct this and only have a 10 of 10 send/receive
    task? Thanks!!!

    Hello,
This usually happens due to several reasons like if you have enabled a Virus Scanner, which comes as an inbuilt feature with the Microsoft Outlook. It can also happen if you have set  “send/receive interval” quite short or “server timeout” as low.
So one by one you can check for all the three causes and overcome them with the recommended solution:
    Solutions:   1. Disable Add-ins
    Go to “File”-> “Section Options”-> “Sections Add-Ins”
From the “Manage” list, select the type of add-in you want to disable.
Click “Go” & proceed with the changes.
    Restart Outlook.
    2. Set “Short send/receive interval”
Go to “send/receive ” button-> “Show progress”. If there are more than two tasks shown per an email account. Then interval time needs to be changed, which by default is set to 30 minutes. To check it,
    Move to “File”-> “Options”-> “Advanced”-> “send/receive”
Change the “Schedule an automatic send/receive every _ (more than 5 minutes) minutes.
    3. Increase Server timeout.
Go to the “Account settings”. Double click on the configured file.
    Move to the “advanced settings”tab.
Check the server time. Increase it up to 2 or 3 minutes.
Note: Do not set it below 1 minute.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Outlook 2013 Can't Receive & Send Email

I am using Oulook 2013 and connected with Office365. Recently I can'c connect the Outlook with office 365 server.  The problem  is
LAN Setting Proxy Server.  I can't changing the setting to
Automatic Detect Setting.  After changed LAN Setting and restart, the setting back again.
My step in this trouble is :
In Iternet Expoler 11,  Menu TOOLS ==> Internet Setting  ==> tab CONNECTION ==> LAN Setting ==> Use Automatic Detect Setting.  After Check this box, the laptop restart, but back again to Use Proxy Server Chek Box.

    Hi,
Please open “Regedit” and navigate to the following Location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
    set ProxySettingsPerUser = 1
If the issue persists, please manually set the following through registry editing:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\
    "MigrateProxy"=dword:00000001
1 for enable 0 for disable
    "ProxyEnable"=dword:00000000
1 for enable 0 for disable
    "ProxyHttp1.1"=dword:00000001
1 for enable 0 for disable Might also be "ProxyHttp1_1" on some machines
"ProxyServer"=""        This is blank (if there's a value Delete it)
if you are actually using a proxy server, the format is IPaddress:port
Then restart IE and check whether the issue persists.

  • Exchange Server 2013: no send/receive after failed CU1- CU2 and machine restore

    Hi!
For several reasons, I decided to fully restore my Exchange Server 2013 machine today.
The machine is virtualized on Hyper-V.
I rebooted the server and recovered from backup and Exchange seems to be working fine. However, I cannot receive or send mail. If I try to send a message it goes to the "drafts" folder. OWA and EMC is working. I can not send mail between interna mailboxes
    either. Outlook says disconnected.
When running the Exhchange Connectivity Analyzer, I get the following:
    - Receive: Connection was successful but no banner was received.
    - Send: Successfull. However when trying to send mail to external mailbox it does not reach that mailbox.
Mailflow was working perfectly at the time of the backup.
    Help is much appreciated!
UPDATE 1: When telnet on local server i get SMTP banner. But not on other computers in same subnet.

OK. After fiddeling around in ADSIedit and trying to rebuild my Exchange environment I ended ut breaking it completely.
I then restored both my DC (Exchange schema CU2) and my EX (Exchange schema CU1). Scema Versions where the inconsistent as stated.
Then I uninstalled the KB2874216 successfully. After that i tried to Upgrade Exchange to CU2. The Upgrade failed at Mailbox Role: Mailbox Service With error Message:

Seems the problem was corrupted arbitrary system mailboxes from previous Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013 migration.
The solution for me was to restore the corrupted arbitrary mailboxes using this

I am now currently on Exchange CU2 on both my EX server and on my DC. Now I have to check mail flow and will report back.

  • How to edit a text message received in Outlook 2013?

I have a user who has configured his phone to automatically forward text messages to his Exchange account.  When he opens the message in Outlook 2013 he'd like to be able to edit the message like he was accustomed to do in Outlook 2003.
For a normal message, of course, he could click on Actions, Edit Message and start editing.  For the text message (SMS) though, the Actions button does not show up.  (Outlook may be using a different form for text messages?)
Forwarding the message to himself is not an acceptable workaround.
Asking users to send messages to his email address instead of his text message phone number is not an acceptable workaround.
Is it possible to edit a text message in Outlook 2013 or would we have to move to an older version of Outlook?

    Hi,
Let’s begin with the answer in the following thread:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/cc895374-fef6-4255-b3f9-393ca17f0553/outlook-2013-wont-send-sms-texts?forum=outlook
“They removed SMS support from Outlook 2013 because of low use.”
Thus, it’s by design that there is no option to edit the SMS message in Outlook 2013.

  • Troubble with outlook: Automatically Sending/receiving 600+ tasks

    Hello!
A customer to me is having some troubble with outlook 2010 automatically sending/receiving...
His outlook is set to automatically send and receive but the problem is that sometimes it performs over 600 tasks (see picture). this problem occurs a coupple of times per week and is quite frankly annoying.
The solutions i have tried so far are:
Turn off all programs and restart the computer.
    Search the computer for virus/malware.
Looked for a datafile that could possibly make this happen.
Made sure that Cached exchange-mode is off.
Asked him to replace his keyboard if that might be the issue. (not configrmed yet though)
    Create a new outlook profile.
    Regards,
    Joakim Alm

    Hi Joakim,
Does it take long time to process Send/Receive in Outlook 2010? Please do the following changes:
    1. Check whether there is any Anti-virus in the machine scanning all incoming and\or outgoing mails. If it is, please disable it.
    2. Launch Outlook 2010 into safe mode, so that no COM Add-ins are loaded. And run Send/Receive and try to reproduce the behavior:
Click Start | Run | On the Open: line type (without quotes) “Outlook.exe /safe” | Click OK\Enter
    3. If the issue continues in Outlook safe mode, please change a computer to configure the account to have a try.
