Outlook 2013 Won't Sync Consistently with Exchange 365 Server

Hello,
I have a Win 7 Pro laptop running Office 365 Pro Plus, and Outlook 2013 is part of that package.  For some reason, Outlook isn't syncing to the Exchange 365 server.  Even though it says "Connected" at the bottom, and that "All Folders
Are Up to Date", I'm still not getting a full sync.  Example: I can delete a message from my inbox on my Win 7 computer, yet the message doesn't delete from the Outlook Web App, or my iPhone or iPad.  Or, I can delete a message from my
iPad or iPhone, and it will delete on Outlook Web App but not on my laptop running Outlook.  In other words, my Win 7 PC running Outlook is the odd man out.  My iOS devices and the Outlook Web App always seem to be in sync.
I did notice that at the bottom of the message list in my inbox in Outlook, there's a link telling me "there are more messages on the server".  I click that link, and it takes a few seconds for my inbox messages to update.  Once they
do, I see messages I've already deleted before.  This tends to improve the sync function as well, but only temporarily.
I did try to repair my profile by going to File --> Account Settings and then choosing Repair.  That didn't really seem to change anything.
I also tried running a full Office 365 repair in Add/Remove Programs, but that didn't fix it either.
I have downloaded and installed all of the latest updates from Microsoft Update.  Not really sure where else to look.

Hi,
Since Office 365 is different from Exchange On-Premises, I suggest asking Office 365 Forum for help so that you can get more professional suggestions. For your convenience:

  • Outlook 2013 won't sync thru iCloud -- workaround

On a Windows 8 PC, Outlook 2013 will not sync calendar and contacts with i devices thru iCloud.  Until Apple and/or Microsoft address the compatibility issue, there is a reasonable workaround.  Use Outlook 2013 only for mail.  For calendar  and contacts, go to icloud.com and use the apps there.  User interface is almost identical with the apps on i devices, and these two apps sync perfectly thru iCloud.  I believe the Outlook 2013/iCloud compatibility problem exists regardless of which version of Windows is being used, but I have experience only with Win 8 on this issue..

Outlook 2013 is not a supported iCloud client, there are no official 'workarounds' but the mehod you describe will suffice.
Using MS Exchange with Outlook is a far superior method of synchronizing Contacts, Calendars. Notes and Tasks.

  • Problems with Outlook 2013 and Windows 8.1 with Exchange 2013

    Hello Guys,
I just got started with testing Exchange 2013. My lab consists of 2 Exchange 2013 Servers, the Installation Media is the Exchange 2013 SP1 from MSDN, Server 2012 R2 and 2 Windows 8.1 Clients with Office 2013 SP 1 with all updates installed. I have configured
some mailboxes in Exchange and I want now to configure Outlook. So at the initial startup Outlook displays the correct Name and Mail Address. When I click next I make it to Logging on the mail server and then I am getting the Error : The connection to Microsoft
Exchange is unavailable. Your Network adapter does not have a default Gateway. All servers are in the network 192.168.5.0 /24. Any suggestions how can I fix this problem ?
    Thank you

Hi there and thanks for Posting!
You can correct the issue by disabling outlook connection optimism.
Full details can be found from link below.

  • Outlook 2013: There is a problem with the proxy server's certificate

    Hello!
One more question regarding Outlook 2013/Exchange2013SP1:
There are three lab PCs: DC, Exch1, Exchange2. There's a wildcard certificate installed on Exch1 (https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/6a440c99-47bd-4f48-8cc5-9f92e6b06496/wildcard-certificate-for-exchange-2013?forum=exchangesvrgeneral).
OWA works perfect with this wildcard certificate.
I install Outlook2013 on Exch1 and get the error:
DC.Entreprise.Local is a computer certificate issued for the computer DC.Enterprise.Local.
DC.Enterprise.Local IS NOT (and never was) the proxy for Exch1 or Exchange2:
How Outlook could request DC's certificate if the proxy server = Exch1.Enterprise.Local???
    Thank you in advance,
    Michael

    Hello all,
    Thank you for your replies!
Since I'm using a wildcard certificate I changed Outlook providers according to this:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2013/08/02/part-2-reverse-proxy-for-exchange-server-2013-using-iis-arr.aspx
If you do choose to use a wildcard certificate, you should also make sure that you
change the EXPR Outlook Provider, so that Outlook Anywhere clients can successfully connect to the Exchange Server (this behavior can be a particular issue
if you have Windows XP clients). If you do not make this change then end users may continue to receive a prompt for a certificate mismatch."
...and EXCH and EXPR are both set to *.Enterprise.Local.
"I install Outlook2013 on Exch1" you mean you install Outlook on top of Exchange?"  - on the same server as Exchange, and in this case Outlook must use SCP, not DNS (the server and the client are in the same AD domain).
"Without SCP, Exchange  try DNS autodiscover lookup, first site it will try is
https://emaldomain/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml, which happen to be resolve to your domain controller."  - I think that's the case... I just don't understand why
an internal client can't find the SCP that does exist and point to exch1.enterprise.local:

  • IPhone 3G won't sync calendar with Exchange 2003

Hi - can't see this exact problem elsewhere hence the post...
I have iPhone 3G syncing with OWA from Exchange 2003 just fine with mail and contacts. Calendar is totally blank though. If I create a new appointment on iPhone then it shows up in Exchange - great! If I do it the other way round then I get nothing on iPhone - unless I invite myself in which case it does! But then if I delete the email invitation then the entry disappears. I could live with that (just about) but not but being able to sync my calendar history is a big problem for me.
By the way I can't sync my calendar history via iTunes to Outlook because the sync component crashes!
    Can anyone shed any light?

Hi man, I got the same problem with my iPhone, but it has been solved..
First, You need the Outlook 2003 or 2007 only, if you have a earlier version of this it isn't work.
Second, You sould need to create a new PST file whit the Outlook Version 2003 or 2007, the file format must be on Unicode Format, no Outlook (97-2000) format, with this file format the import of calendar doesn't gonna be work.
Third, You now have a PST whit Outlook 2003 or 2007 Version, you need to manually put your events on the calendar, Why? Cause if you just move it on the new calendar it gonna create and old instance of the event not a new instance, That's why iTunes doesn´t sync the calendar.
I done all these and actually I can sync the calendar with my iphone.

  • ITunes sync with Outlook 2013 preparing to sync runs forever

iTunes sync with Outlook 2013 preparing to sync runs forever, what is the problem?

I have updated addresses and names in the iPhone. When I sync with Outlook it takes the updated name portion, but does not pick up the address from the iPhone. The Whitepages app (pretty handy app) will update my iPhone contact list, but I cannot then transfer that information over to my Outlook contact list. This all needs to work together. Solutions?

  • Iphone 5 not syncing calendar with exchange

We have several iPhones in our organization - both 4S and 5. We are syncing them with Exchange Server 2003 and 2010 SP1. Email and Contacts sync fine, but the Calendar does not. Anyone have an idea on what we can try?
    Thanks

Hmm ...238 views, and 14 people with the same question, but no replies?
I have spent the most frustrating 3 weeks trying everything suggested on every forum I could possibly find, and STILL I have not solved this
Everything has been deinstalled, reinstalled. Pst files have been backed up and recreated. etc etc
The only headway I seem to have made is to discover that when I create a new Outlook profile with a 'guest' account my phone will happily sync calendar with this profile, so what does that tell me? That it's a problem with my original Outlook user profile ? (If so, what should I now do?)
There seem to be so many people with the same problem - Outlook calendar suddenly not syncing - I can't believe someone hasn't identified the problem....
    Please.......

  • My iPhone 5 ios7, won't sync music with itunes 11.1.2.32

My iPhone 5 ios7.0.3, won't sync music with itunes 11.1.2.32.
The Sync starts and finsihes but no changes are made to the content on the iphone. No files transfer. Tried both wifi and cable sync.

Sorry, but this doesn't work either.  Thank you for the response though.
I originally tried the Manually Manage Music and Videos and even though I selected what I wanted to copy and then clicked the Sync button.....nothing gets copied over.   I then tried copying over my entire library (and I expected the phone to explode since my library is HUGE) and clicked the Sync button....nothing got copied over.
I have uninstalled iTunes, reinstalled iTunes (and lost half my library thank you Apple).
I have deleted my iPhone backup.
I have updated my iTunes (not that there were any new updates).
I have updated my iPhone (not that there were any new updates).
I have changed and tested every single setting, every which way possible and NOTHING works.
I can sync movies, pictures, apps - no problem whatsoever.  But music?  Forget it.
I hate the iPhone and I won't recommend it to ANYONE.  All I wanted was an all-in-one device to make my life easier and this is NOT IT!  This should not be this hard and as far as I'm concerned, Apple failed BIG TIME.

  • Sync ICal with Exchange

    Hi
I have the following problem. my Ical doesn´t sync with exchange calendar any more. only syncs till june 2010. Iphone sync still works (with the same server address etc.) both ways. I deleted Ical and calender cache and created the exchange account from the start. but that did not help.

    Hi,
I'm having the same problem. All my Macs synced fine with the companys MS Exchange Server 2007 until the Mac OS X update was installed, which was released by Apple in mid Dec. 2010. The update was needed to support the new MobileMe calendar, which was also released by Apple at that time. Since this update all iCal installations on all of my Macs are not able to connect to the Exchange Server any more.
The sync of Addressbook and Mail with the Exchange Server still works. So does the syncing of my iPad and iPhone with Mail, Addressbook and Calendar of the Exchange Server still works. Only the iCal of neither of my three Macs doesn't sync any more. Well the sync with me MobileMe calendar and my devices works perfect.
I'm sure that the update is the cause of the sync issue with Exchange, because each of me Macs stopped syncing and showing the exclamation mark beside the Exchange Server account in iCal after updating the system with the MobileMe Patch. Clicking on the exclamation mark shows a message saying the at this time iCal is not possible to sync with the account. Looks the same as when there is no internet connection to the Exchange Server - only difference is, that there is a connection to it because Mail and Addressbook can access the Exchange Server.
I've already tried to delete the Exchange Server account in iCal and set it up from the scratch. But this only deleted my old calendar entries I had form the time when the sync still worked.
I hope someone from Apple reads this reply and has an answer to this problem. I was searching the Net since this problem accrued to me. I'm sure, that there is no system failure which causes the problem, because I have it on three Macs.
    Greetings
    Mano

  • Typekit won't sync fonts with my Adobe ID

Typekit won't sync fonts with my Adobe ID. Any solution? I've selected to use fonts on Typekit on my desktop, but each time I have to re-link my Adobe ID, and the fonts don't sync. I have the Creative Cloud app running. Any help really appreciated.

  • Outlook 2013 won't start with Exchange 2003 on the network

    Hello All,
I have outlined my problem below,  If someone could please help me that would be great!
    Environment
    ==========
SBS 2003 Server Running AD and Exchange 2003
Clients are Windows 7 with Office 2013 and Outlook 2007 (to connect to existing 2003 Server)
    Issue
    =====
I am in the process of Migrating off of SBS 2003 to Office 365.  The situation is that my customer needs to keep the SBS 2003 server until end of life where they will at that time determine a upgrade path.  They however do not want to use Exchange
anymore.    I have migrated their mailboxes successfully to Office 365.
The problem that I am running into is with Outlook 2013.  Because Exchange 2003 server still exists in the network I am unable to launch Outlook 2013.  I get a Message
"The Resource that you are trying to use is located on an unsupported version of Microsoft Exchange Contact your e-mail administrator for assistance"
I have tried to create a new Outlook profile.  However since the exchange server exists still it auto discovers the server for the account.
    Questions
    ========
    1.  What is the best workaround for this situation?  My customer still needs to keep their SBS sever for their domain and plans on retiring the server before Server 2003 End of Life this coming server.  (Upgrade is not an option, nor is getting
rid of the Domain, they are a small company).
    2.  If I disabled the Exchange services on the server would this work?  Would outlook 2013 not detect Exchange
    2003 on the network?
Basically I need to force Outlook 2013 to look at Office 365.
    3.  Configuring Outlook 2013 to manually connect to Office 365?  The problem here is that how do I locate the server name for the manually connection?  I have found some blogs that say to use Remote Connectivity Analyzer https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com/
but I cant seem to get that to work.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Please refer to the following article to check your migration steps from Exchange 2003 to Office 365:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/canitpro/archive/2013/05/31/step-by-step-migration-of-exchange-2003-server-to-office-365.aspx
If all mailboxes are moved to Office 365, Outlook 2013 would use Autodiscover service to connect to your Office 365. Please make sure your Autodiscover service is configured correctly in Office 365. Also
verify that all the DNS records and Public Folder are updated and pointed towards Office 365 services. If there is any question about migration to Office 365,
we can ask a question in Exchange Online forum for more suggestion:

  • My iPad won't sync calendar with Outlook Exchange but my iPhone will

This is not the Outlook Exchange calendar cancellation problem reported elsewhere on this forum. Our organization has had this problem, but what I describe seems to be different.
I am running an iPhone 4S and an iPad 3, both on iOS 6.0.1. Our organization runs Outlook Exchange 2007.
My iphone syncs perfectly with Outlook Exchange. However, my iPad does not sync properly. On the iPad, only a few appointments show up. If I try to refresh the sync, the few appointments on the iPad disappear while I am watching.
Outlook Calendar on my office desktop on our network seems to work well.
Any suggestions? I have tried rebooting but that hasn't helped.

Have you tried deleting the Exchange account, and adding it again fresh?  I had similar problems and this fixed it for me.

  • Iphone4 won't sync contact with Outlook/Exchange 2007 - can't afford to lose these contacts either

    Hello,
I have a user who has been using an iPhone 4 for over a year now, and has built up a large list of Contacts on the device. Unfortunately, unlike every other iPhone user, his Contacts have not been sync'ing with Outlook.
I know I can go into "Settings", "Mail, Contacts, Calendar", Contacts and "Default Account" and change it here. However, I do not want to lose any of these iPhone Contacts. I would like to be able to back them up, and then sync them into Outlook.
Can someone please advise on the safest steps to do this?
    Thank you,
    Liam

A couple of weeks ago a similar question was posted and a member responded with the following link
    http://www.iphonebackupextractor.com/
I haven't tried it since we force encrypt our backups through IPCU, but is looks intriguing and like it might work for you.  According to their web page they export backed up contacts to a csv file so they could be imported into the Outlook client....hope this helps.

  • Outlook 2010 won't sync over the air with my iPhone 4s

I got my iphone 4s at the same time that my work switched to Outlook 2010.  Now I can only sync calendars manually and not automatically over the air as I enter appointments.  Plus, only appointments entered on the PC will sync with the phone - appointments entered on the phone won't sync with my work calendar at all. What's going on???  I don't know if it's a phone issue or an Outlook 2010 issue, since both changed at the same time. I did notice that new appointments typed on my phone are a different color than those entered on my PC, if that matters at all (it may just be a new feature of ios5).

  • Outlook 2011 won't sync with Address Book iCal, etc.

We recently adopted Outlook for the Mac 2011 (we used Exchange) for our platform because of Exchange compatibility issues with other applications.  Despite the clear statement in Outlook Sync Services that it will sync with Address Book and iCal, I cannot get it to sync with either.  I've looked around the forums, and deleted plist files, but nothing.  My iSync says that I have no devices, but I'm only trying to sync between Exchange and the apps on my MBP (I also have an iPhone but I'm okay with Exchange there).  I'm also reading about problems with iCloud and Exchange; is this the problem?
I'm not ordinarily this stupid, but I'm hitting a brick wall here.

You must be on OS X 10.7 in order to use iCloud.
OS X 10.7 (Lion) is available in the App Store as a digital download. It is $29. Best practice - be sure to make a backup copy of your computer before upgrading any software.
After you download and install 10.7 Lion, you will have an iCloud icon in System Preferences.
