How do I get round this? I am setting up two identical iPod touch 5th gens, one of which has allowed me to set up the email, but the second one won't. Can anyone help me?

Hare you tried deleting the account for the problem iPod and reenter the settings? It is easy to make an error in the entering the settings but hard to find an error.

We are testing UE-V 2.0 and 2.1 Beta everything is working verry nice only the outlook account settings are not syncing.

we are use exchange 2010 with outlook 2013.

We accomplished this by creating an additional settings templates that captures only the windows messaging subsystem and setting WaitForSyncOnApplicationStart to true.
Template below for x86 Outlook 2010, modify as needed for whatever flavor you are running. You can have multiple templates for the same application.

I want to do a weird configuration for one of my outlook user, I want to have such a configuration that when the user is in office he will automatically connect to the local mail server that is x.x.x.7 and get its mail from there, but when the user gets
out of the office he should get mails from the hosting directly, that is my.example.com
Is there any outlook account proxy changing plugin for this after installing that the user click on a button select his account setting.
Any suggestions...???

The only close setting in Outlook is Exchange Proxy Settings.
Take Outlook 2013 for example, click FILE -> Account Settings -> Account Settings -> Double click on the Exchange Account -> More Settings -> Connection tab -> Exchange Proxy Settings. There you can configure your Exchange Proxy Settings,
such as "Use this URL to connect to my proxy server for Exchange".
I haven't known other methods or add-ins to work for your configuration so far.

Do not delete the old account yet. sign up for an iCloud account if you haven't.

You cannot use .mac or MobileMe as type of Account, you have to choose IMAP when setting up, otherwise Mail is hard coded to change imap.mail.me.com to mail.me.com & smtp.mail.me.com to smtp.me.com, no matter what you try to enter.
iCloud Mail setup, do not choose .mac or MobileMe as type, but choose IMAP...
On second step where it asks "Description", it has to be a unique name, but you can still use your email address.
IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
          •          Server name: imap.mail.me.com
          •          SSL Required: Yes
          •          Port: 993
          •          Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
          •          Password: Your iCloud password
SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:
          •          Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
          •          SSL Required: Yes
          •          Port: 587
          •          SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
          •          Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
          •          Password: Your iCloud password
Also, you must upgrade your password to meet the new criteria: 8 characters, including upper and lower case and numbers. If you have an older password that does not meet these criteria, when you try to setup mail on your mac, using all of the IMAP criteria listed above, it will still give a server error message. Go to   http://appleid.apple.com         then follow directions to change your password, then go back to setting up your mail using the IMAP instructions above.

I can send but cannot recieve email
This is the messege I am gewtting:

Also if I go to system preferences accounts and re-enter the password it fixes the glitch sometimes.

I've rec'd a few errors related to syncing Mail, but none have had this specific wording. If you haven't already, try quitting Mail before syncing. Also, make sure that you're not in your Settings areas on the iPhone before syncing. Hope this helps!

I have always had a hotmail account and have been using it on both my iPhone and iPad with no problem. Recently it asked me to set up 2 step sign in for security reasons which I did. I also changed my password at the same time. Now I cannot sign in. When trying to load my messages it says Cannot Get Mail The connection to the sever failed. If I go in to setting, mail accounts choose hotmail.com and re-enter my password a message comes up Outlook Account Unable to verify account information. Please can anyone help me?

Remove the Account from the iPhone.
Sign in Outlook.com directly with an Internet browser.
Create New Account On my iPhone.
Now it works. Also skydrive.

iCloud is not supported on Snow Leopard or lower, why bother to mention it?
The OP has an iCloud account, and that can not be opened without Lion or Mountain Lion (on a Mac), IOS5 or 6 (on an iPhone/iPad)

Now when I tried to check my email I get a message OUTLOOK ACCOUNT UNABLE TO VERFIY ACCOUNT INFORMATION. I changed my password called the Microsoft support and spend $70.00 with them but the problem still is not resolved. What can I do?

Hi I m no tech wizz or anything your tags says that you have an iphone 4, ios 7.1. Well ios 7.1 can have a range of issues some people are lucky. Well to answer your question if you have updated and the email doesn't work but before it does than I suggest backing up all of your data and try to restore your iphone.

I can no longer use my aol on mac mail. When I set up the aol account name and password I get a message that says "Unable to verify account name or password". This is on all my Apple devices. Seems like an AOL server issue but no help from them!

Delete your Gmail account from the Mail/Contacts/Calendars settings page, and then add it back in using the new Gmail password.

Bought a new iPad2 with wi-fi access. I am at home on my wi-fi network using iPad. Trying to add my Hotmail account to the iPad so I can retrieve my e-mail messages. I am able to log onto my Hotmail e-mail account no problem on my regular computer. I was able to program my wife's Comcast.net e-mail into the iPad no problem and bring up her e-mail on the iPad.
