Outlook and OWA shows disconnected intermittently while on corporate wi-fi

Hello All,
We have exchange 2013 Std on-premises with Service pack1. When users connect from LAN and Datacard they able to connect to outlook and access OWA and when from office wi-fi network outlook shows disconnected and not able access OWA as well but internet works
fine. this issue happening intermittently with office wi-fi.
Regards,
Aayan

Hi Aayan,
From your description, when users connect from LAN and Datacard they are able to access Outlook and OWA, then there is nothing wrong with Exchange server side. In your case, this disconnected issue only occurs when you use wifi network, I recommend you check
your network when using wifi.
Hope this can be helpful to you.

  • Outlook and owa freezes every day, sometimes at the same time

    Hello,
I have very strange problem! 2 users complain that the outlook hangs every day, approximately at the same time. But other 200 users work fine. I can't see any error on the mail servers ( two servers exchange 2010 sp 3 with dag) Outlook can hangs for 15 min
with user, who has mailbox 1,5 Gb and about 3-5 min with user, who has mailbox 150 Mb.
When outlook hangs, owa logon also hangs and then they start working simultaneously.
It doesn't depend on the server where I try to run owa. I tried to move mailbox to new database, but it didn't resolve my problem.
There are no any scheduled tasks on exchange servers at this time. No performans issues. Maybe some problems of connectivity with AD, but I don't see any suspicious event.

    Hi,
It sounds like mailbox curroption. I'd suggest you move those two mailboxes to another mailbox database, and then try againt to see if this works.
We may also try New-MailboxRepairRequest. For more information, please refer to:

  • Outlook anywhere now showing disconnected

I have multiple remote users that are not domain members. They connect via Outlook Anywhere on either Outlook 2007 or 2010.  All of a sudden they can no longer connect to Exchange. I was able to fix the problem by recreating their Outlook profile, but
after a couple hours they connections all reverted back to a disconnected state.  When I close Outlook and open it again I am prompted for username and password.  No matter what I enter (even a bad password) the box goes away when I press ok and
    Outlook says disconnected.
When I go to testconnectivity.Microsoft.com everything passes.  Also, when I hold ctrl and right click on the Outlook system tray icon and go to connection status, the box is completely empty.
Any help would be very appreciated.  Thanks.

    Hi,
Have you added the cert to their trusted local store on the client?.
The clients using Outlook Anywhere have to to trust the certificate issued by the Internal CA.
If you have external clients, its highly recommend to use a 3rd party certificate authority to avoid issues.
If the client machine does not trust the certificate that is being presented it will fail to connect.
So if you are using self signed or self issued certificates you will need to deploy them to each client machine.
    Hope this helps!
    Thanks.

  • Outlook and OWA do not track meeting responses if the meeting time is changed - using Exchange

When you create a meeting in Outlook, you can open the meeting, go to Tracking and see who has responded.
This works fine initially, but if you change the time of the meeting, the tracking of responses no longer works. Even though people have responded to the new time, it just shows 'none' under the Response column when you go to Tracking.
Request responses is checked under Response Options.
Also, in File - Option - Mail- Tracking, the "automatically process meeting requests and responses to meeting requests and polls" is selected, as is "auto update original sent item with receipt information"
This has been reproduced on different computers and happens in OWA also.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this.

    Hi,
    Please try the following steps:
Please install the lasted update for Outlook 2013, and then check the issue.
Check if the AutomateProcessing calendar setting for your Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 is set to
None. If so, please make sure the Exchange Server administrator start the Exchange Management Shell on the Exchange mailbox server. Then, run the following command in the Exchange Management Shell:
    Set-CalendarProcessing –Identity <MailboxIdParameter> -AutomateProcessing Autoupdate
Switch to Online Exchange mode to check the issue.
Refer to following article about Set-CalendarProcessing command.

    Hi,
First, I would like to confirm the following questions:
    1. Does the issue occur on certain user mailbox via OWA or each user mailbox?
    2. Which OWA folder’s email cannot be deleted, Inbox, Sent Items or each folder?
    3. Which version of operating system is installed on the client machine, Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7?
At this stage, I suggest you temporarily disable firewall and anti-spam for a test. If the emails still cannot be removed via OWA, please refer to the following article
and use isinteg tool to check and repair Information Store.
    Description of the Isinteg utility

  • Exchnage programming API interface being used by Outlook and OWA

    Hello,
What Exchnage programming interface (RPC or EWS) is being used by versions of OWA 2007...2013?
Similarly, what Exchnage programming interface (RPC or EWS) is being used by versions of Outlook 2003...2013?
    Thank you,

OWA is a private application so the API's and methods it uses aren't publically documented or usable outside of OWA. What is documentd are the Exchange Protocols
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc425499(v=exchg.80).aspx .
On Exchange 2013 if you have a look at how OWA work's with something like fiddler you'll see that EWS is being used but not directly it get's serialized as JSON . However as OWA does a number of things you can't do in EWS, so I would say it would be
a combiniation of EWS and custom RPC libraries. Older version would be more towards RPC with EWS being used for somethings.
The public API's you can use are EWS and MAPI
    Cheers
    Glen

  • Outlook 2010 and OWA (Hosted on Exchange Server 2010 Standard) only show 1 weeks worth of email

Checked to see if any Filters were applied, reset to default, same result.
Checked to see if there were any rules, there were none.
Checked to see if there were any "Quick Steps", there were none.
Rebuilt the user profile in Outlook, same results.
OWA shows the same thing so I am thinking it might be a setting/problem with Exchange. Outlook and OWA are in perfect sync, they just don't show email older than a week.

    Hi,
Based on the description, you could only see those messages whose age was less than one week in Outlook and OWA.
First, I recommend you check if there is any retention policy applied to this user mailbox.
Besides, please use the get-mailboxstatistics command to get the number of items present in the mailbox, and then compare it with what you can see in Outlook.

  • IChat disconnects intermittently

    Hi
I have iChat 5.0.1 (743) and it keeps disconnecting intermittently, giving me the following error message:
'iChat lost the connection to the Jabber account "my name".
Could not connect to host talk.google.com'
When I connect again, it stays connected for about 5 minutes and does the same thing again.
This is very strange. I am using a 384Kbps ADSL connection on a router to which I connect both wireless and through ethernet. My connection is not that slow. The port is not forwarded on my router, if that might make a difference.
iChat uses SSL on port 5223 to connect to Google Talk.
Anybody have any advice? My computer is updated to the T, so not an issue with outdated 'whatever'.

    Hi,
TLS is a form of Security encryption like SSL and is in place if you don't use SSL
You get it showing up if Auto Discover is On and the ports is listed as 5222.
This means SSL is Off (Changes to port 5223)
Currently testing on my MacBook pro it seems the GoogleTalk SSL server may be down as I can only login on port 5222
A little while ago the GoogleTalk server was also allowing logins on port 443 but I cannot get it to do that today on my MacBook Pro but my G4/1Ghz tower has 443 and SSL set for some while and will log in still.

An email that came in yesterday is dated 08/31/2014 instead of 07/31/2014. The reason I noticed is it was always staying at the top of my inbox even after newer ones arrived........ I log on to Outlook and it shows the date as 07/31/2014.........

Have the sender to check the time and date on his/her computer.

  • No Free/Busy Information for Exchange 2010 users in Outlook 2010 client, 2010 OWA shows this information fine

I have looked for hours and hours on Google and this web site for this type of issue and nothing seems to help.
    Problem:
On my new Windows 2008 R2 /Exchange 2010 server with IIS7 installed, I can use Outlook 2010 client to login and send and receive e-mail but when I try to busy search internal Exchange users I get no information (cross-hatch), but the sender of the Meeting Request

I don't know if I have a certificate problem with regard to IIS7 or Exchange 2010, I did not create my own certificate , it is just what was installed by default when I installed and configured Win2K8 server, IIS7 and Exchange.
On the Windows 7 workstations with Outlook 2010 client, I am not logging into the Exchange 2010 server DNS domain, if that makes any difference.  On these workstations I can ping "autodiscover.my.exchange.server.com" and my.exchange.server.com

    Hi,
How many users encounter this issue, all users with Outlook 2010 or some specific users?
According to your post, the Error code 600 indicates that your Autodiscover service is working well. as for the certificate mismatch issue, we can also following the KB below to resolve it:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940726/en-us
The Free/Busy information in Exchange 2010 is using the Availability service to
    retrieve it. Please directly access
https://mail.mydomain.ae/EWS/Exchange.asmx in IE and see whether a proper XML file is returned.
     Or we can go to
https://testexchangeconnectivity.com and check MS Exchange Web Services Connectivity Tests.

  • Delayed OoO notification in outlook client and OWA when Automatic Replies are scheduled.

So all of our users are having an issue with the OoO notice in outlook ("Automatic replies are turned on click here to turn off)
When they set a scheduled out of office that notice does not immediately show up at the scheduled time. Out of Office replies are sent but in outlook it does not notify them that their OoO is turned on for maybe 10-15 minutes.  So lets say I set an automatic
reply for 11:00 AM I can be in outlook and the notice to turn them off does not show up for quite some time past 11:00.
This happens in office 2010 and 2013, cached and online mode, and it also happens (or I presume does not happen is the correct way to put it) in OWA (using Internet Explorer). If I send myself an email in outlook I see the notice that the recipient is OoO and
when I send the message sometimes the alert comes up. Other times it does not.
I found another discussion referencing this but there was no real answer, or at least the submitter did not respond to it as resolved or what they found to be the issue.

    Hi,
If the issue happens to all users, please check whether all Exchange related services are started and running in your Exchange server.
Additionally, please check whether users can access their mailbox from OWA. If the issue doesn’t happen in OWA but only in Outlook, the issue may be Related to the autodiscover service. Please collect more information by running Test E-mail AutoConfiguration

    Hi,
You can consider the [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-firefox-easily-fix-most-problems Reset Firefox] feature via '''Help''' ('''Alt''' + '''H''') > '''Troubleshooting Information'''. If it is okay, you can then install the Mozilla Archive Format add-on.
If you have security software installed you can try to delete all existing entries for Firefox and its sub processes in the different configuration modules and try to fully trust/allow Firefox afresh. Even after network access is completed, Firefox would still need unlimited access to its disk cache/memory as well as its files. Please see [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Firewalls this].
