Outlook and VPN issues

All - I have an issue when connecting through Company VPN to MS Outlook 2007 from my home. This problem is only with Outlook. When I connect to company VPN from home, I can see all the company network drives, printers, etc, however when opening Outlook, it try's to connect until it shows disconnected. Works fine when at work, on the company network backbone. Also, VPN and Outlook works and connects fine when I disconnect E3000 and connect directly to the SpeedStream ADSL modem. I just hate disconnecting all my other home computers from the internet every time I need to Compose and send work e-mails. I also tried to change MTU values down to 1431 with no luck. It is definitely a setting in the E3000 configuration. Any feedback would be appreciated. My 10 yr old Linksys router worked great until it burned out.

I'm having exactly the same problem - WRT110 wireless router and before I installed it I had no problem connecting to MS Outlook via VPN. My VPN connects perfectly - only the Outlook MDB is affected. Searching other forums revealed this problem has been around for a while.
A solution from back in 2004 suggested changing some registry to allow larger packets through but I tried that and it didn't work. I suspect it's something really simple because it works EVERYWHERE else but at my house.

I have a back-up cell modem built in that is a workaround but has become unreliable as the network speeds have increased.

SAPGUI Java 7.20 Rev 6 download and VPN issue

Dear SAP friends please help.
We are trying to connect to SAP via a Mac running Lion and a VPN with SAPGUI for Java Rev 5. We get the logon successfully but never get further than the licence message. We have updated to the latest Java and also tried it in 32 bitz mode. We are unable to download the latest Rev 6 (due to my user authorisation) but we still think this is a VPN issue. Can you please help? I enclose the trace which shows the point at which is stops.

some version of the VPN client on Lion seems to have a known issue according to SAP internal discussions.
I found someone telling, that with F5 SSL VPN Plugin 7000.2011.0907.01, it is working again.
It seems to be available from https://connectfp.sap.com.

(many "seems", because I am still on Snow Leopard and can not talk about this issue from my own experience)

Outlook and i0S7 issue

After downloading iOS7, my outlook calendar will not sync. My default calendar is Outlook and the two accounts are not communicating. Any suggestions?

Here's my situation:
Storm 9530, Verizon, OS ver. 5.0
I use my BB as my only calendar, really.The only reason for synching is mainly to have a backup in case of crash. But, sometimes if I'm at my desk, working on emails, I'll update, add or delete a contact on desktop. I also receive messages with calendar items, staff meetings, etc. that are automatically added to the BB from one of my 2 offices.
I work in 2 different offices, both using Outlook (probably still on 2003).
I've only been synching with the one office PC where they do schedule me for meetings at times.
I am so fearful of losing past appt info, that I have tried to set up both PC Desktop manager and BB to keep everything forever. So, I end up with lots of duplicate entries on BB, sometimes 3 repeats. When it asks during sync process if I want to delete entries, I say 'no.'
So, here are my questions:
1. How should I set the synch to not lose anythign, but not keep repeating the same info on the BB?
2. Can I have a second computer for synching, just for further backup? (I'm going to be leaving one of the comapnies in the next year or two.)
3. Is there any way to add the contacts from one computer to the other via BB synch? One office PC has only a small number of contacts since I haven't been there that long. Would like to be able to have all the contacts from both offices in the BB.

WRT54G2 v1.0 and VPN issues end up with DD-WRT firmware upgrade

I have a Linksys WRT54G2 v1.0 router. There is no problem to connect to the Internet. But I cannot connect to my work VPN at vpn.companyname.com. I have tried many settings and even the port forwarding, all failed. I can connect to the VPN directly from my modem, without this router. So the problem is not my computer, my ISP, or my company network.
I also tried to call Linksys Support, after 1 hour of delay, finanly there is a guy to answer me. But all he suggested are not working, further disappointed me.
After hours of google search, I found DD-WRT (http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/index). I just followed the instructions here (http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=40142&highlight=wrt54g2), and upgraded my firmware. Then everything is working. I have my long-desired VPN connection!
I shared my experience here, just hope this may help someone who is facing the same issue as me. However, I did not try the fix of chaning the router IP from 192.168.1.1 to 10.168.1.1. Anyone has succeeded with this changing? I am curious to know it.

That's Great that your issue has been resolved now.. I have not tried to change the ip from 198.168.1.1 to 10.168.1.1..Is there any specific to change the ip address...If you just want to change the network then,you can change the ip to 192.168.2.1.

WRT610N and VPN issue

Linksys please fix the WRT610N issue with VPN using IPsec. I loose my internet connection everytime I try to log into my VPN for work. I have to reboot the router to back online, after which I can usually connect. Please we need an update to fix this issue!

I recently had this same issue and spent about 3 hours on the phone with the Linksys support.   I am using a laptop with wireless-N USB adapter and the WRT610N. The tech support reloaded all the firmware updates to the WRT610N which I had already done and still had the same issue.   My issue was I could connect to the internet but connecting through VPN to my work system causes a drop in my wireless connection to the WRT610N within 1 minute.
Ultimately the solution to this problem came down to a conflict with WLAN-client that I was using to establish the wireless-N connection.   The WLAN client I was using is the one that came with my Linksys Wireless-N USB adapter.
The solution was to disable the WLAN-client and use the Windows XP Wireless Zero Configuration Utility.   You can find out how to enable this by going to the Microsoft website.   Once I had all other WLAN clients and the internal wireless-g card disabled I was able to VPN through the wireless-N adapter and the WRT610N with no issues (using the Windows XP Wireless Zero Configuration Utility).

Outlook and Desktop issues?

I'm running Office for MAC 2011 on my MacBook. Everything seems OK except the way Outlook interacts with the desktop! If I try and save an attachment to the desktop, as soon as I click on the Desktop as the save location, Outlook becomes unresponsive and lollipop of doom spins away until I force quit.
Same thing happens when I try and pick up a file from the desktop to become an attachment.
Has anyone else experienced this please?

Unfortunately, no one from the BlackBerry team has replied (read?) my post. I simply changed the sync options to be unidirectional so that the BB won't replace the pictures with lower quality ones, Of course, I do not use my BB anymore to create new contacts, I do it in my other phones. For those contacts not showing a picture, I deleted the contacts and created them again. I really hope that someone at Blackberry realizes that High Quality contact pictures are appreciated within the BlackBerry users community and that they do something about it.

Mac - Outlook and Calendar issues

I have an Mac with two unique users, both with seperate iPhones. I am using Microsoft Outlook as I was comfrotable with that when I made my switch. My iPhone does not sync with the Outlook Calendar though, so I don't know my schedule when I am not in the office as they don't communicate.
Is there an answer to this before I try to migrate to iCal?

Forefront TMG network policy server and VPN issue.

Hello every one!
I have a problem with configuration VPN server on Forefront TMG on Windows Server 2008R2 with latests microsoft updates.
I install Forefront TMG on on Windows Server 2008R2 with latest updates.
Then, I configure startup wizard where I set network configuration and etc.
Next, I set VPN settings, I set DHCP pool, DNS servers, Access groups for VPN, and set PPTP.
After apply this settings, service RemoteAccess doesn't start. I try to reboot server but service doesn't start.
But it's not one problem.
When I add VPN Access groups in Forefront, and apply configuration, I don't see changes in network policy server (nps.msc) Groups don't add to policy in network policy server.

If I start RemoteAccess manually and add new VPN Access groups in policy in network policy server, I can use VPN server, and connect to forefront server.
But I don't understand why TMG Forefront can't apply this settings in nps.msc and services.
What I do wrong?

When I configure TMG VPN settings, I set VPN Access groups. After that NPS server change and apply TMG network policy correctly.

T530 WAN MiniPort and VPN issues

Hi All!
I have a T530 that is just about 1 year old. CAme with Windows 7. I did a Clean install of Windows 8 64 bit. I have had to do 2 System Restores since mid-May of this year due to my VPNs suddenly not working. It seems to be related to the WAN MiniPorts. I was thinking initially this was a Windows Update cause and effect scenario, but after the first System restore I disabled automatic installation of Windows Updates and have no installed any manually. The VPN within Windows 8 stops working, as well as any and all 3rd party VPN applications.
This is becoming a terrible hassle not to mention a time consuming pain. Has there been any discoveries as to why this is happening??

Outlook 2010 sticks on "Trying to Connect" when undock Laptops and VPN Connects Automatically

When our users undock their laptops the VPN kicks in automatically. All of the other network services just continue seamlessly. Outlook, however, sticks at "trying to connect". This is often accompanied by a password prompt.
This is easily solved by closing Outlook and reopening it (no need to enter password).
It doesn't seem unreasonable that outlook should require a restart after being disconnected like this. Just want to establish whether there is a way to have Outlook just re-connect without the need to close it and reopen it. Or is the need to
restart it unavoidable?

This is really a question for the Outlook forum, but from what I have seen over the years, thats just the way it is with OUtlook and MAPI or Outlook Anywhere. When you change the network, Outlook struggles..
Having said that, MAPI over HTTP with Exchange 2013 SP1 is working to eliminate those issues:

Microsoft Exchange is not updating local Outlook - Send and Receive issues.

Hi everyone,
Our office has just moved to using Office 365 business edition where we are sending and receiving emails via Microsoft Online Exchange.
It has been running for 3 days so far and we do love the product however we are having a major issue at the moment and that is our local outlook 2010 and 2013 folders are not constantly synching with the exchange. We are finding that it can be hours
before emails push through to our inbox and we will receive 20 emails all at once. It is also occuring when we send emails, they will sit in the Outbox and the only way it seems to get them to send or receive is to close Outlook and re-open the program.
We also find that sometimes when we are out of the office and using the 'Outlook Web App' that emails we send to clients via here and not always synching with the local Outlook its a bit of a mess really. This is not great as we are a legal office
and need to attend to emails urgently at times and must have all emails arrive locally.
Can anyone shed some light on how this matter can be fixed urgently?

As far as I know, for the sync issue in the on-premise Exchange server environment, we can check if we have selected the option ”send immediately when connected”:
Outlook 2013: file>options>advanced> send and receive> send immediately when connected
However, since your server is Exchange online, I recommend you ask for more professional help on our Exchange online forum:

Email issue - not downloading to Outlook and email on cell phone not working

Anyone know what is causing this? Not working since 1030AM today.
No verizon email downloading to MS Outlook and cant send out emails on my cell phone (Verizon network)? When will this be corrected?

No, the issue resolved itself. This happens every once in a while and lasts for 30 min to an hour , then it works again. I get that strange error code message from Outlook Express with the 0x000 etc. No one knows why. Just one of those things you have to deal with. Next time i wont waste time calling and sitting on hold for hours and hours. Not worth it.

Microsoft Outlook 2011 for Mac sync Contacts and Calendar issues

OK, so I have a Macbook Pro with OS X Mountian Lion. I have Microsoft Outlook 2011 for Mac installed. Asked @BlackberryHelp on Twitter how to sync my Blackberry Torch with Outlook as it seems to default to using the builtin Apple Contacts and Calendar instead of Outlook. So they sent me the link to KB19148: "How to synchronize organizer data in Microsoft Office for Mac between the BlackBerry smartphone and a Mac computer using BlackBerry Desktop Software". So I turned on the Sync Services in Outlook and it gave me the dialog box confirming that everything was synced. And it appeared to copy and sync whatever Contacts in the Apple Contacts and calendar entries in the Apple Calendar into Outlook and vice versa. Cool since that's what I wanted.
Then I tried using the Blackberry Desktop Manager to sync everything to my Blackberry Torch 9810. Everything looked like it synced until I opened my Blackberry and all my Contacts were gone. Same with my Calendar entries, except that the Calender entries were hit and miss to whatever copied over (some Calendar entries were missing and others were duplicates). Checked the Apple Contacts and all of them were gone. But when I opened Outlook, everything was there and all OK.
So am I missing something? Turning on Sync Services in Outlook should sync all my Contacts and Calendar with my Blackberry when I use Blackberry Desktop Manager, correct? So why is it still syncing with the Apple Contacts and Calendar (and why did it delete all my Apple Contacts and mess up my Apple Calendar)?
Good thing I backed everything up first so restored everything. But I have all my updated Contacts and Calendar in Outlook and I still need to sync all of that. I don't want to manually do it. So how do I fix this??

After a bit of googling I think you mean the notation "domain\username", i.e., a backslash separator but no leading backslash.
I am not familiar with that notation but apparently it is valid in some contexts. I googled "os x "domain\username"" to confirm this notation. Here's one of the hits that shows the notation:

I think "DFS" is a distributed file system. That's as much as I know about this.
