    It depends on which password you are referring to, but generally speaking you can always restore the Apple TV.

  • Outlook Apple Attachment

    Hi,
    Everytime I send an e-mail from Outlook, the recipient receives unknown attachment with weird file name.
    This is an example 454F7E5A-43C6-4CBB-9889-4A6D4D6B4C9C.x-apple-msg-attachment.
    Has anyone had experience with this and know how to solve it?
    Thanks,
    Sandy

    As mentioned, Outlook is not email standards compliant. It probably never will be based on Microsoft's history. However, I think there are various issues involved in the problems people have. I often send emails from home to my Outlook account at work. I have never experienced any of the problems that I've seen posted anywhere regarding Mail and Outlook.
    My conclusion is that there are issues with certain Exchange Server configurations and/or issues with your own ISP mail server causing the issues.
    I do have my system set up to Always send windows friendly attachments (from what I've read, this really is 'send Outlook friendly attachments'), and always put attachments at the end. Prior to the 'always put attachments at the end,' I wasn't having any issues, either. However, I read that that setting helped with other email clients, so I use it.
    The obvious question is, "well, how is your exchange server configured." I would love to provide the answer to that question; however, I work for a DoD organization, so actually tracking down the person that knows the answer to that question will take somewhere between five years and never. With my 20+ years experience with the DoD, I'm leaning towards the never end of the spectrum. The other half of the equation is, "I'm using cox as my ISP."

    If i send an email with a .msg file (outlook 2003) as attachment, the attachment goes missing. I Stopped the Timer service and sent an email and the email was available in the drop folder.If i open the email from the drop folder i can see that my attachment
    is there.Now if i start the Sharepoint timer service the email body is available in the document library but the attachment is Missing. This issue is happening only with attachments of type  .msg.
    Please could you help with this issue.

    This is the default behavior when you email enable a document library.
    If you want to save the original email as well.
    Go to the Document Library Settings
    Followed by Incoming email Settings.
    On the Incoming email settings page in the Email Message section.
    Choose Yes for Save original email? and click
    OK.
    Now if you send any new email with attachment, you will be able to see both the Attachment & original email in the document librabry. Hope that helps.

    My apple id attached to my itunes account has expired and i have forgotten the password that was attached to it! I have created a new apple id but cannot transfer it to my itunes which all my apple products connect up to on my mac with all my pictures etc on!?! HELP!

    My apple id attached to my itunes account has expired
    They don't expire. As far as anyone knows Apple IDs live on forever - if you forgot its password use https://iforgot.apple.com. Good luck with the answers to whatever security questions it asks.
    ... I have created a new apple id but cannot transfer it to my itunes which all my apple products connect up to on my mac with all my pictures etc on!?!
    Right! That's the reason you do not create a new Apple ID.
    As far as Apple is concerned a new Apple ID is a completely different user, with absolutely, positively no access to anything available to any other Apple ID.
    Concentrate your efforts on resetting the password to your old Apple ID. It has not expired, and is the only way to use all your existing iTunes purchases, App Store purchases, computer authorizations... etc. Forget about the new Apple ID you just created.

    I have my Apple TV attached to an Onkyo receiver and my Samsung tv is attached as well.  The Samsung has a dvi port and I use a dvi hdmi adapter.  My problem is I have audio from the Apple TV but no video feed.  Any ideas what might be the problem?

    only some versions of DVI support hdcp http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-bandwidth_Digital_Content_Protection
    that would likely be your problem try connecting the Apple TV by optical to the receiver and with hdmi to the tv
    if the tv does not have a hdmi port then you likely need a new tv

  • Read mails with embedded screenshot and .msg attachment

    Hi Folks,
    Requirement : Fetch emails from an email box and store it in Oracle Database for further processing.
    Issue faced : 1) I am unable to fetch the screenshot embedded in the email. I tried fetching them as an attachment, but when I try to open the attachment its throws an error.
                        2) When an email with .msg attachment is received, the disposition and file name are read as null and hence the attachment is not read.
    I tried searching on net but all that I see is how to send such emails and not fetch one .
    Can any one please guide me through this?
    Thanks

    What program is being used to send the messages with attachments?
    If you read the message using (e.g.) Thunderbird and save the attachment, is it correct?
    If possible, use the JavaMail msgshow.java sample program to read the message and save the attachments.  Does that work correctly?
    If none of that helps you figure out the source of the problem, I'm going to need more details to help you debug it.  I'm going to need to see the part of your code that saves the attachment, the debug output when your program reads the message and saves the attachment, and possibly a sample message with attachment that demonstrates the problem.  It's probably easier to send that information to me at [email protected]

  • Using a non-Apple network attached storage device in lieu of Time Capsule

    Can anyone suggest the steps one would need to take to have a non-Apple network attached storage device (HPMediavault) recognised by the Airport Utility so that it may be employed for file storage via Time Machine in lieu of a Time Capsule?

    Sorry, but TM will not work with third-party NAS - only Time Capsule.
    Requirements to use Time Machine
    Time Machine is only available with Leopard (10.5.x)
    1. External FireWire or USB 2.0 drive
    2. Time Capsule
    3. Drive shared by a Mac running 10.5 or later using File Sharing
    4. Drive shared by a Mac running 10.5 Server
    5. SAN volume managed by Apple's Xsan file system
    A TM drive must be partitioned with either APM (PPC) or GUID (Intel) and formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled.)
    An Airport Extreme Base Station with a USB drive connected to it can be used with TM but it is not supported by Apple.

    Thanks for your response, Pennbank.
    From what I understand, when I hook up my computer to my TV, the only thing I need to do, (in order for audio to be transmitted from my TV) is to 'select a device for sound output' in System Preferences. But my computer does not read or register at all that it is connected to any device. The picture is all there on my TV and the connection is there, but it is not showing me any other option to select for sound other than Internal Speakers. Here is a screen grab. The sound from my TV is totally fine when I watch it. Are you saying I might need to make an adjustment in my TV setting?

  • How to open and read an OUTLOOK saved .msg eMail?

    In the Windows world at work - there are some files which are actually eMails in Outlook on Windows Vista and Windows 7 machines. But when I take the individual file.msg and try to open it, nothing. (If I change .msg to .txt I can see some of the message, but lots of garbage, too.
    I have OUTLOOK on a 30 day trial (with MS Office 2011) - but can't seem to open the message with that either - it goes into the attachments area and won't open.
    What can I do to read these messages? I have an entire folder of them and it would be nice to be able to read them on my Mac instead of going back to the office windows machine. (When I double-click on these files when on a Windows Vista computer with MS Office 2007 and Outlook installed, it just opens Outlook and the message is there. But on my Mac, it opens a new message in Outlook for Mac and then puts this entire message in the attached document area).
    Thanks for any comments!

    With help from the 2 replies, I found this: http://download.cnet.com/mac/element-twentysix/3260-20_4-10099352.html
    While you can trial it to see if it can open your .msg file; to really take advantage of the power of this program *OutlookMSG Viewer*, you need to invest the $7.95 - then you have full formatted text in a MAIL message (which you can save or not in your INbox or other MAILbox) - plus full attachments - it is JUST SUPER!!! If this helps you to open just one critical Outlook .msg message then it pays for itself immediately. Batch translating etc. etc. - works perfectly -
    http://www.element26.net/ is the parent company's main website - you have to search a bit to find out just how to pay for it - but that is very fine once you find it - super fast, receipt, invoice, manual on-line (which I copied in pdf to my OutlookMSG Viewer Folder.
    Thanks for the fast replies - I thought I'd never read these files-- but now PERFECT

  • Apple mail attachment encoding problem

    I'm having the problem lately that either attachments aren't being decoded properly and the source is displayed in the email or that the entire email is being displayed like this:
    --Apple-Mail-7--951337123
    Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable
    Content-Type: text/plain;
    charset=ISO-8859-1;
    delsp=yes;
    format=flowed
    FYI
    --Apple-Mail-7--951337123
    Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
    Content-Type: application/octet-stream;
    x-mac-type=584C5338;
    x-unix-mode=0744;
    x-mac-creator=5843454C;

    filename=report.xls
    0M8R4KGxGuEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPgADAP7/CQAGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABAAAAAQAAAAAAAAAA
    EAAAQAAAAAEAAAD+////AAAAAAAAAAD/////////////////////////////////////////////
    We have the same problems with UTF-8 encoded mails. If I select the Inbox, then select Mailbox -> Rebuild it fixes it, but I need a better solution to fix this. Several others are having the same problem and it seems to be happenning intermittently.
    Anyone have any suggestions?

    This clients use presumably Outlook 2007. It's not your or Apple Mail's fault, it's a known bug in Outlook 2007 and there is also a Microsoft Help and Support Article from April 2007 about that issue.
    Here -> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917120
    A workaround is also described there.
    A simple ad hoc solution is to ZIP the pictures before attaching to mail

  • .msg attachment in appraisal iview

    Hi,
    Not entirely sure if this is the right forum - but us portal people tend to have our fingers in quite a few different areas.
    For Hr Apprasisals I have created a BSP iview to point at the BSP application hap_document.  This works fine.  When we upload attachments this also works fine.  The problem is when clicking on the attachments.  If we attach a word document and click on it, it opens in word.  However, if we attach an outlook .msg file as an attachment, it opens as text within a web browser window, rather than starting outlook.  If you just have the attachment as a file and double click on it, it opens in outlook, so the file extension to application works fine.
    Any ideas why it does not launch it in outlook?
    Many thanks

    Hi Thomas,
    Couls you please suggest if it is possible to attach a read only word document at the template creation level to the appraisal document?
