Outlook calendar invitations showing up as .ifb files in Mail

Up until this morning I was able to accept Outlook calendar invitations sent by clients from their PCs. They came in Mail and showed up as .ics file attachments, and would populate iCal perfectly.
Suddenly, now all invitations are showing up as .ifb files. They open as text files and won't work with iCal. It's not the sender's problem, as she was sending invitations just this morning that seemed to work fine.
Any suggestions?

  • Outlook Calendar invites show up 16 hours behind when accepted on my iphone

I am using Ms Outlook 2003 (work email) to send calendar invites to my Gmail (personal email which I receive on my iPhone4), and attempting to accept these calendar invites on my iPhone (via the .ics attachment) so that they appear on iCal. I am however, unable to get the event to appear as the correct time. It always shows up as 16 hours behind the scheduled time, but with the correct time showing up in the "Notes" Section.
My Outlook and computer settings are set to my local time zone. Similarly, my iPhone settings and the calendar settings are set to my local time zone.
Would appreciate if anyone could help. Thanks!

Here's an article about how to sync Outlook & iPhone that may help: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/synchronize-outlook-and-apple-iph one-or-ipod-touch-calendars-HA010266829.aspx

  • Cant open Outlook calendar invites

I receive outlook calendar invites in my me.com mailbox and unable to open and save to my iphone iCalendar. I have to wait to get home on MacBook and open via Entourage. I do not use Outlook Exchange as I am on Government restricted intranet (NMCI) so have to forward events to my personal iphone (government will only give me basic phone so I use my iPhone as it is much more useful).

I am having the same problem. I am forwarding calendar invites from my work account (Outlook) to my MobileMe account, so I can get the reminders on my iPhone - BUT, when I do that, *ics file just sits as an attachment in Mail, and I can't do anything with it unless I use my Mac.

  • Outlook meeting invites received as ICS txt file in Yahoo mail

My boss is sending Outlook 2010 meeting invites to external users at Gmail, Yahoo, & hotmail.   Gmail accept the meeting invite, but yahoo and hotmail get that as text (.ICS) files.
He is convinced this is an issue with our Exchange server and/or Outlook.  Should he expect that Outlook meeting invites will be received correctly in other mail platforms or is there something I need to enable/install on either his Outlook or
the Exchange 2010 server to enable this?
    Thank you,
    Greg H.

    Hi,
To determine if it's an issue on Outlook or Exchange, you can send a meeting request from OWA, check if this issue persists.
In Outlook, please go to File tab -> Options -> Calendar -> Calendar Options -> Have you checked "When sending meeting requests outside of your organization, use the iCalendar format"? Check or Uncheck it and click OK to test if this
    is involved.

Help me to send calendar invite without installing outlook on the specified server. Please do the needful.

    Hi
It is probably that the stuff you doing is for outlook and because outlook is not installed it cannot find the classes.
Hope this helps. Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

  • Why do Outlook calendar invites appear on my iPod touch calendar but not my icloud calendar

Why do Outlook calendar invites appear on my iPod touch calendar but not my iCloud calendar? I use Outlook at work and if I want to add events to the calendar on my iPod Touch which I use as a PDA I simply create the event in outlook select my gmail email address and invite myself. The event appears on my iPod Touch...all well and good...now with the advent of iCloud I would like to see all events on my iPod calendar on the iCloud calendar that I view on my PC. At the moment only events that I have added directly onto the iPod calendar appear on the iCloud calendar.
I have messed around abit syncing and unsyncing, Turning the Calendar on and off in the iCloud setting on the device but nothing is really working. Any easy to follow suggestions or is it a trip to the geniuses in order?

Not sure why you'd want to alter an artist name anyway but...
In iTunes, right-click selected track and click "Get Info" then edit the artist field and possibly the album artist too (edit as in... make sure they have a value (the correct artist name)). Delete the faulty track on your iPod and then re-upload the new one.
Another thing is that if you left the music player open on your iPod when you add the new track, sometimes I find that it doesnt find any of the new songs you add until you close and then re-open the app on the iPod.

  • Shared Outlook Calendars not showing up on my phone

I have an Outlook Calendar that works on my Samsung Galaxy S4, but I have 2 other outlook calendars that are shared with me on the same account that I can not seem to get to show up on my phone.   How do I get the shared outlook calendars to show up with my own calendar?

Actually, the accounts can not be added as they are not my accounts.   These are two members of my family who have their own outlook accounts.   They “shared” their calendars with me so that I can see them.   I want to see them on my Samsung Galaxy S4 but I can’t.   I can see them on my laptop and I could see them on my iPhone but when I changed to the Samsung, I can’t see them.   There has got to be a way to see them.

  • Outlook calendar invitations in Yosemite Mail

I know that there is an answer for this somewhere out there, but scouring the discussion boards and web I can't seem to find it.
I am using the stable version of Yosemite and have updated all my apps to date. For some reason, I can no longer add outlook calendar invitations to Mac calendar via the Mac Mail app! When I hit the "accept" button, the person who sent the invitation gets an email back saying that I accepted (most of the time!, the calendar event is NOT added to my calendar, and the invitation email is trashed! Neither the mail or calendar apps crash, but I don’t get my calendar event added! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks so much! Mike
When I look at the console, I see stuff like:
    11/6/14 4:22:38.421 PM Mail[531]: Could not load x-msg URL
    11/6/14 4:22:44.912 PM Mail[531]: Unexpected flag key "MessageHighlightTextInTOC"in flagsBySettingValueForKey

I have this same problem. The only difference is nothing happens when I hit accept from inside of mail.  It doesn't accept the invite in calendar, it doesn't, trash the invitation, it just does nothing.  I have the most up to date version of Yosemite.

  • I can sync with my outlook calendar, but cannot sync with contacts or e-mail.

I can sync with my outlook calendar, but cannot sync with contacts or e-mail.  When I click on Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars it doesn't open and reverts to the home page.  When I try to open Mail I get an error message saying "Cannot get mail.  The user name or password for Gmail is incorrect".  If I press "settings" it reverts to home page.  I was revised to restore settings which I have now done, but the problem has not been resolved. Can anyone help?
i do have a gmail account and may have used this when I first set up itunes/ipad (I'm new to Apple).  However, I want to synchronize with my Microsoft Exchange account.

It may be a bit late for your needs, but there's a sync product for Outlook (an add-in) that will sync public and private folders/calendars.  Once you have your items in a mailbox folder, the regular ios sync will bring it to your device.  It's called Add2Outlook, it's made by DidItBetter.com Software.
It syncs private and public, mailboxes and folders in any direction.  One-way, two-way, read-only or writable.  It also works with Office 365 and hosted exchange providers, if that's your situation.  It works for calendars, contacts, tasks, email, whatever.  It can even sync to PST or between two different Exchange servers.
It installs on your workstation, not on the Exchange server.
Check it out here: Outlook Contact and Calendar Sync for Office 365

  • Outlook calendar invitations not showing in email

    I use Outlook with OSX10.9.5.
When I receive calendar invites, they don't come up in my email, so unless I scroll through my calendar looking for them, I don't know I've been invited. I used to get emails but suddenly they've stopped.  I've gone through preferences with a fine tooth comb and can't find anything related to this.  Please help.

Yes, all of my recurring events that do sync were created years ago in Outlook and I had no problem syncing them to my Blackberry Bold way back when. Initially when I got my iphone 4, everything synced both ways and then this year I got an iPad and intitally everything synced with it via iTunes/outlook with no problem. I've only noticed this problem within the last month or so and it drove me crazy. I reset both my ios devices but I refuse to uninstall and reinstall Outlook or iTunes. I've seen tons of posts on here that say it afffects the cloud, exchange servers and itunes so it's not just us. I've sent feedback to Apple and received no response. Others have too. Apple is aware of it and doesn't have a clue what to do about it. It now affects other events for me so I'm thinking maybe it has to do with default reminders and other things between Outlook and the ios devices. Maybe and update to iTunes or ios6 will change that, who knows. I still love my iPhone and would't go back to Blackberry; it's just way to slow for me.

  • Receiving outlook calendar invites

I receive outlook diary invitations from an exchange and they now come as winmail.dat files and I can't add them to ical... In fact I cant do anything with them. Help please.

I do not believe the article referenced (see below) is correct.
Mac OS X Mail: What is a winmail.dat attachment?
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2614
It says to "ignore" winmail.dat files, or to call the sender and ask them to change their settings.
Most users in an exchange setting have no capability to change their settings: their employer will not allow it.  And even if they could, it is not appropriate to ask.  I have tried and it does not work.
Apple needs to find a way to translate these files.  I use a freeware program called TNEF for word and excel files, but for calendar invitation responses (where the recipient either accepts or rejects the calendar invitation),  I cannot process a calendar notice that comes in a winmail.dat format, meaning that I then have to track acceptance and rejection manually.
TNEF can show me the message's content, but does not give me an executable file that causes my calendar to identify and accept the response.
This just feels like Apple continuing its fight with Microsoft, and refusing to cooperate.

  • Is there a way to send mass Outlook calendar invites?

Our business is a subscription based business that has multiple service lines that hold a client only webinar each month. One of our service lines has found great success in terms of response and attendance sending out calendar invitations via Outlook.
However, these invites can only be sent out to 20-30 email addresses at once without being marked by spam filters.
    1. Is there a way to do this in outlook or a product that allows us to do this?
    2. Is there a way to do a "mail merge" of sorts for outlook invitations?
    3. I know we are able to do a mail merge and attach an .ics file, but correct me if I'm wrong, we aren't able to verify who added that to their calendar because the sending email address won't receive an accepted or declined response. It would be
nice to see who accepts as well because then we are able to cross reference our registration list and manually register those who may have just added the calendar request, but didn't go into the link to register for the conference--this also gives us collateral
    for sponsors.
Any ideas would be very helpful. Thanks!
PS - Most users are on either Office for Mac 2011 or Office 2010.

  • Why don't Outlook calendar events show up in Notification Center?

I have my iPhone (6) with iOS 8.1.2 set up to work with my corporate Outlook, and everything has typically worked fine.  At some point in the last few weeks, I've noticed that Outlook calendar events don't appear in the Notification Center - and I'm confident that they used to.  They show up in the Calendar app, reminders pop up for the events...but suddenly they don't appear when I pull down the Notification Center on my phone.  Only iCal and events that I created on my phone show up.  Any thoughts?
    Thanks.

ManSinha - thanks for your response - and yes, that's the first place I looked.  The Outlook events still don't show up in the iOS notification center.  They do show up in the upper "summary" section though - the where it has the date, weather, then "The first thing on your calendar today is (Outlook Event) at 12:15 PM."  But in the Calendar widget right below, it doesn't show up.
Again, it shows up in the Calendar app - so I'm not sure where the disconnect is.

  • Outlook Calendar Invites

When I receive an invite on my calendar at work it gives me the choice to accept without notifying others.  It will, however still show up on my iphone as something I need to accept.  The problem is, when I accept from my phone it sends a notification to everyone else on that particular calendar invite and I have a co-worker who does not want to see when I accept something on the calendar (apparently it completely messes her up ).   So my question is is there a setting on my phone that I can change so that when I accept the calendar invites away from work it will not send a message to her saying that I did that?

The attachments can be viewed in the invitation but not in the actual calendar meeting.

  • Email App of Kitkat 4.4.4 Cannot Recognize Outlook Calendar Invitation

I use the email app to connect to office's IMAP account. The email application cannot recognize calendar invitation sent from Outlook. It cannot recognize the email as calendar invitation and does not display date and place field of the invitation.
Sony, please help update this application with above functonality.
    Thank you.

As i understand it, you need to use Exchange ActiveSync for this. If you recieve an invitation and use Exchange ActiveSync you can see the information about the meeting and select accept, tentative, decline and new time.
