Need your urgent assistance on this issue. We have a company phone (BlackBerry Q10) and we have also completed all the configuration for outlook email account. Everything was fine except for outlook calendar. Most of past events is showing on current day event. For example, event created in 2012 still showing on today agenda. Did a sync between phone and pc but no luck. Is there a way we can remove all the past day events from today events and prevent it from showing up again? When we checked on those past day event detail, it showing repeated everyday and there is no end day specified. Please kindly assist..

  • Some outlook calendar issues don't sync over air or disappear

When I accept a calendar invitation on my laptop before the invitation email was synced it doesn't show up on my iPhone.
Also when my assistant (delegate in outlook) accepts an invitation I can normally delete the invitation from my inbox (as it is already accepted), but when I do that the item disappears from my iPhone calendar too (yet NOT from my Calendar on my laptop). I only sync outlook over air, not via iTunes (as iTunes is on my personal PC and this is work outlook). Big issue for me as I miss appointments...
Deleting the iPhone calendar and re-activitating it (suggestion I read on this forum) works perfectly, but I don't want to do that several times a day... Thanks for any help!

  • Outlook calendar issues

I recently installed Labview 8.21 Developer Suite with all the bells and whistles along with the  realtime module.  Now i am having issues with ms outlook 2k3.  Everytime I try to do something with my calendar, Labview askes me to install the  Labview runtime engine 7.0 ( lvruntimeeng.msi).  I have an labview 7 express with the installer on it.  I have tried to allow it to install but it tells me that it is an invalid installer package.  Anyone have any suggestions on the cause of this installation request.
    Thanks

Did this start happening as soon as you installed LabVIEW 8.2.1, or did it start more recent than that?
I would suggest try uninstalling the run-time engine, go here to download the LabVIEW 7.0 Run-Time Engine, and re-install.

  • CEO's Outlook Calendar Issue

Wondering if any one might have experienced the following situation, or might know a possible solution. Our CEO will receive a meeting invite, he accepts the invite and it shows as “tentative” on his calendar. If his assistant pulls up the meeting it shows
that he accepts it, but the meeting shows tentative, on his behalf. He pulls up his calendar and the meeting states he is tentative, he changes the status, and it remains tentative. This does not occur on all meetings, just random meetings. It doesn’t seem
to matter who the meeting organizer is. He is not entirely sure if this happens on all of his devices, but we for sure know it happens from his computer. He is using Outlook 2007 and we are using Exchange 2010. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thank you!

    Hi,
Please let your CEO logon OWA to try again, will the same issue persist on OWA?
Let the CEO start Outlook with the switch "/cleanfreebusy", check if this issue persists:
Press Win + R and type "outlook.exe /cleanfreebusy" in the blank box, then press Enter.
(Clears and regenerates free/busy information. This switch can be used only when you are able to connect to the server running Exchange.)
I suppose if your CEO doesn't do anything, it will automatically display as "tentative", right? If so, please have the CEO check the following setting on OWA:
Go to Options -> See All Options ->
    Settings -> Calendar.
If "Automatically place new meeting requests on my calendar, marked Tentative" is selected, please uncheck it and click Save.
    Also in Outlook 2007:
Go to Tools -> Options -> Calendar Options
-> Resource Scheduling -> Uncheck Automatically accept meeting requests and process cancellations -> OK.
If the CEO has granted someone delegate permission, we can also try removing the delegate permission to test again.

  • KB2563324 and Outlook calendar issue.

    Hi
We've experienced an issue mentioned in KB2563324:
"Issue 1.9 - An appointment does not update when you use Outlook in cached mode and room mailbox is an attendee
The following conditions cause an appointment not to update on an iOS device:
Organizer is using Outlook in cached mode.
A room mailbox is listed as an attendee
Calendar processing for the room mailbox is set to AutoAccept
Organizer makes a change to in an instance of a recurring meeting"
However our problem is that apart of the event not updating on the iPhone handsets we also see "Not current" event error in the MS Outlook so the recipient cannot accept or dismiss the update from MS Outlook client on the laptop. I believe
that it happens because of the original cause from the KB:
    "Cause (from KB2563324)
Exchange sends two responses for the appointment on the device that contain an exception for the appointment. The second response contains the updated time for the meeting. However, the time stamp for the appointment is older that the first response."
That would explain the MS Outlook error on the workstation saying "Message out of date" and "Not current" event.
Unfortunately the KB2563324 isn't clear if this issue could also affect the same user account in MS Outlook client.
I've also found that this problem is only affecting users with Outlook Anywhere so I wonder if  problem mentioned in paragraph 1.9 in KB2563324 would affect both the iPad calendar and same calendar in MS Outlook 2010 using Outlook Anywhere?
    Could you please advise.

We have the same problems, since over one year and we are a plaything between Apple and Microsoft.
Please open a case by Microsoft Support and file this to our case number:
[REG:113111310943037] Callback:IPhone Calendar Sync Problem with Outlook
    I extended above conditions:
The following conditions cause an appointment not to update on an iOS device:
    User
is using Outlook in cached mode.
    Exchange Server 2010 Sp2/Sp3 (NOT Exchange 2013!)
A room mailbox is listed as an attendee
    or resource
Calendar processing for the room mailbox is set to AutoAccept
Outlook User makes a recurring appointment
    with a room mailbox
Organizer makes a change to in an instance of a recurring meeting
This does NOT happen with OWA or Outlook Users in Online Mode or in our test case with an Exchange 2013 server.
And also only happen with iOS devices. Not Androids or Windows Phones :-(
    Good luck!

  • Mail for Exchange - Outlook Calendar issue

    Hi,
Got Mail for Exchange installed and find that my all-day-events/memos in my PC Outlook are copied to my Nokia E65 as 00:00-23:59 meetings.
    Most frustrating.
    Advice, anyone?
    Regards // OM

Aww… I started a thread in another part of this forum about this issue. Did not see this thread. Sorry…
I have the same problem, and I find it annoying. What I’m trying right now is actually to evaluate RoadSync, which don’t have this problem. With RoadSync, an all day event in Outlook will show up as a memo on the phone.
RoadSync also integrates nicely with the built in mail software on the phone (i.e. it is not “stand alone”, as for example ProfiMail is).But so far, I don’t think is so much value added with RoadSync that I can justify $50 for it.

  • Email (Outlook) calendar issue with P780

I configured my corporate email and sync calendar event. The calendar appointment was not showing in order.
    For ex
3PM meeting showing first, 10am meeting showing second, 5pm meeting showing 5th, 8pm meeting shoing third. that means the appointment showing in random order. I have selected Calendar to do list in wiget. It showing wrong time. It adding appx 2.30min more. that means If i have a meeting @ 10:30AM it showing as 1PM. What would be the issue
I checked with few friends who use the same model. They too face the same issue,

I bought a new Lenovo P780 on sunday and after configuring my office email, I too experienced the same problem. The stock calendar application and the widget does not show the correct meeting time and the sequence of the meetings. The look and feel of the widget and the application is very poor.
I then decided to dump the built-in calendar app and downloaded a calendar application from the Google Play store "Cal - Calendar Google/Exchange" beveloped by Any.do and the problem got resolved. This application is amazingly awesome with great user interface and has got an excellent widget. It has ton of feature that no desktop application can provide. I strongly recommend you install this app and have a great calendar experience.

  • Calendar / Outlook Sync issues

Since the recent upgrade to Yosemite i have had problems with the syncing of Calendar and outlook. In short my calendar is generally used for personal appointments however I have added in my work outlook account so that i can see all appointments, and receive reminders through the notifications bar.
I seem to get the following error message each time a change is made in the calendar.
Can anyone help me get rid of this error message, its upsetting my OCD??

It's hard to say without knowing exactly what she's doing.  You're going to have to watch what she does and teach her the correct ways as necessary.  The first thing you might want to do is put the assistant's calendar in online mode instead of
cached mode, and make sure that she doesn't use cached copies of the executives' calendars.
Calendaring often is problematic when you have multiple fingers in the same calendar all working different kinds of devices and software at various versions and revisions.
See the below links for good advice on how to resolve these kinds of issues.
In particular, try to have just one person on one client platform making all updates to calendars.

  • Outlook Sync (Contacts/Calendar) Issues - Progress today........

    Folks,
I posted another earlier discussion on this topic over the weekend, but since I got my iPhone on Friday, I have probably burned about 20 hours working trying to figure out why I cannot sync my calendar and contacts from Office 2003 "OR" 2007 into my iPhone. When I started this process, 584 of my 1310 contacts did sync, I had NO luck on getting any of calendar items to sync.
Today we resolved the Contact issue!!! Still working on the calendar issues and if anyone has any further ideas, I am open to it, but it appears for both the contacts and calendar issues, I had corrupt data. You dont know it until encounter it this way.
Here is what you need to do in order to get the contacts to sync, it worked for me, hopefully it will work for many after me:
    1. Export "ALL" of your contacts to a .CSV (Comma Separated Value for Windows) file. Just export them to your desktop or somewhere easy to find them. As an extra safety net to ensure you dont lose your contacts, back them up also to a .XLS file as well as a .PST file.
    2. Delete "ALL" your contacts out of Outlook. Sync Outlook, especially if your like me and have your contacts and calendar on a corporate exchange server. Be sure you clear your iPhone so there is no contacts on it.
    3. Import the .CSV file to a VCARD file, sync to your coporate server, sync your iTunes and you should now see all your contacts.
Again, it worked for me and hopefully it works for you.
    Good Luck!!
    Alan
Dell D420 running Win XP   Windows XP Pro

    Everyone is waiting for this.
Right now you cannot sync locally between your phone and your desktop. You are forced to upload your contacts to another company's server (read "the cloud") and then download them from whatever device you didn't upload them from.
Still waiting for this fix please.

  • Itunes/Outlook Calendar Syncing Issue - UTF-8 Flavor

I have had the usual and much discussed issue of outlook calendar does not sync with iTunes. The recommendations have been to remove iTunes and re-install, even blow away all the configuration files as well, and it even worked for me once. But not this time.
I was running Windows XP, and all of a sudden the Outlook 2007 calendar just stopped syncing. I upgraded from XP to 8.1, and that was not fun, but inevitable, and still didn’t correct the problem. Now, if you never upgraded from XP to 8.1 – you can’t – at least it is not a direct flight. First, you have to upgrade from XP to 8.0, then from 8.0 to 8.1, and there is no upgrade in place from XP to 8.0. So what does an upgrade in place mean? Your applications and profiles are not carried over. Just your data (if you ask nicely) is carried over – but all applications have to be re-installed from scratch, and reactivated if there was license activation.
So, forget about re-install of iTunes, I changed OS, reinstalled iTunes and Office 2007 from scratch. And still had the syncing problem. So, I wasn’t getting off easy.
In searching, I found some debugging stuff which I tried, as follows to turn on logging:
    So, I ran the following:
    cd C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\
    defaults write com.apple.Outlook.client.exe ShouldLog YES
    defaults write -globalDomain SyncServicesLogEverything YES
    defaults write -globalDomain SyncServicesLogPersonalInfo YES
And this turned on a lot of tracing. The tracing helped me understand what was going on under the covers, But I am not sure I was getting enough of the information that I needed to really zero in on the bad record.
Now, I will pause and provide some observation of my specific Sync.
An iTunes Sync on a Windows machine when using Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer is selected on the INFO tab of the page for the device.
Selections include Contacts, Calendars, Bookmarks and Notes.
One of the programs involved with Outlook Synchronization is: com.apple.Outlook.client.exe
The program is called when Outlook data needs to be accessed, and is used for contacts, calendar and notes when those items are paired between the iDevice and Outlook. Bookmarks are usually paired with the browser, for example IE.
During the sync operation, each of these are sync’d separately, that is why if you follow the sync actions, iTunes will reflecting what is being synced at the moment, for example “syncing contacts”.
When syncing the calendar, and iTunes is running a slow sync, it reads the Outlook calendar using the com.apple.Outlook.client.exe and does processing of the recursion and time zone information.
    For example, for recurrence:
    [5484 @ Tue Jul 01 10:30:59 2014] [YSLog com.apple.Outlook.client.exe] Setting recurrence data <04300430 0d200200 000000ae 06000c00 00000000 00000400 00002120 0000e703 00000000 00000000 00000000 0000a0e7 980cc016 d10c0630 00000830 00000000 0000a005 00000000 00000000 00000000>
    [5484 @ Tue Jul 01 10:30:59 2014] [YSLog com.apple.Outlook.client.exe] 0 recurrence exceptions
    [5484 @ Tue Jul 01 10:30:59 2014] [YSLog com.apple.Outlook.client.exe] Reading the Extended Exception Info (i.e. Unicode data)
    [5484 @ Tue Jul 01 10:30:59 2014] [YSLog com.apple.Outlook.client.exe] Done making compatible recurrence
    For example, for timezone:
[5484 @ Tue Jul 01 10:30:43 2014] [YSLog com.apple.Outlook.client.exe] Could not create a time zone from outlook name, tried using name (GMT-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)
Then the calendar entries are pushed, for example:
    ca965dbc4717d9488fafc9266f1f829304082700 =     {
            "all
    day" = 1;
            calendar
    =         (
                ca965dbc4717d9488fafc9266f1f829382800000
    "com.apple.outlook.freebusy" = Free;
    "com.apple.syncservices.RecordEntityName" = "com.apple.calendars.Event";
            "end date" = "2020-05-11 12:00:00 +0000";
            location = "United States";
            "start date" = "2020-05-10 12:00:00 +0000";
            summary = "Mother's Day";
So, my SYNC fails, and I crash and burn with:
[5484 @ Tue Jul 01 10:41:22 2014] [_ISDVLog com.apple.Outlook.client.exe] SyncServices assertion failure (nil != strUTF8) in [(null) (null)], SDLogging.m:641 could not obtain UTF-8 flavor of formatted string
    [5484 @ Tue Jul 01 10:41:23 2014] [YSLog com.apple.Outlook.client.exe] objcMain caught an exception:
    name
    NSInternalInconsistencyException
    reason     : [(null)
(null)]: could not obtain UTF-8 flavor of formatted string
    user info  : (null)
    call stack : (
Now I’m back. So, during the extract and push of the outlook calendar entries, iTunes is building formatted strings. Now, Unicode is usually 16 bit (2 characters) Unicode, sometimes called double byte code. UTF-8 is single byte, so realize you can’t squeeze 16 bits into a 8 bit byte. However, you could if the Unicode string only contained characters that were valid for the UTF-8 character set. My interpretation of the error message above was that somewhere a formatted character string contained a “non-UTF-8” character and raised the assertion. Now, my issue with the excessive detailing from the logs was that – at least with the logging parameters I had turned on – I couldn’t figure out which calendar entry caused the exception to be thrown.
First instinct was  that the last calendar entry in the trace was the culprit, so I deleted that calendar entry, ran again, the sync went up to the previous entry, and threw the exception. This gives me two theories: Either the sync was processing the next entry – which wasn’t printed in the trace yet – and failed, or the sync was going back to previous records – like reviewing the buffer. In either case, the trace wasn’t helping and it was all theories.
Now what? What has everyone been saying? Issues with recurrence. And in the trace, as you see above as an example, “0 recurrence exceptions”, “reading the extended exception info (i.e. Unicode data)”.
Now, I have no clue what that means. My initial guess was that recurrence exceptions (I had non-zeros on some) was an error. But further research I realized what it could mean was that these were situations where there were recurrence exceptions. What is a recurrence exception? Suppose I want to schedule a meeting on the 4th day of the month, for every month of the year. Well, except maybe July 4th, because it is a holiday and the office is closed. I would send the meeting invite, and then a cancellation for the July 4th. (I hear there is no simple way to do this). I now have an exception because I broke the recurrence chain. Other forms of exceptions is if I keep changing the location, or the body of the invite – e.g. every month I update the agenda, but only for one recurrence, not the entire series.
So, keep in mind,  that if the issue is conversion to a UTF-8 character, and it is failing, then uninstall/reinstall of anything is not going to help if the real issue at hand is the data in Outlook and is not a coding or configuration issue. Now, sometimes it is an issue, but you need to see why the syncserver tasks are failing, and may fail due to other reasons including other data issues.
So, what did I do? Well IO have 15K calendar entries, which, was taking an hour or two to slow sync (I call it a slow dance) and I was, spending days (maybe a couple of weeks) trying to fix this – and frustration was on the high end.
I removed some of my older recurrences, and changed others from never expire to like 25 maximum occurrences. No idea which one worked, or even if it was a coincidence. However, the UTF-8 error went away, and then I moved to the next issue.
Now, before we get there, with outlook 2007 finding recurrences is not difficult. Go into the calendar, and select appointment or list view (Outlook 2013 list view works ok). You can then sort on the recurrence column and see which (if any) items gave a recurrence pattern. Now maybe someone can figure out specific BAD calendar items that are throwing the exception to give us a better idea of what to look for and then report it so we can do further research.
Now, once we can get the issue out of the way, stop iTunes from throwing an exception, we are not 100% done yet. By this time what is in Outlook and on the iDevice is out of sync. We need to get that message to popup asking us if we want to merge the data between the iDevice and Outlook. This can be important if you don’t want to lose data. My issue is that with iTunes 11.2.2 for some reason won’t do it, i.e. when I select “reset sync history” it doesn’t work. At that point I was forced to rename my iTunesprefs, the syncserver folder, and a few other folders. In this case, for Windows 7 and later, the folders in “Apple Computer” of both the local and roaming paths, and I had to cancel running tasks that had those folders open. One way or another, you want the iTunes message asking if you want to merge the folders.
What can you do to help?
Report success or failures using the information above
Report if you are getting the same UTF-8 message, or if you are seeing other exceptions
Report specific cases of calendar entries that you find that you have isolated to be throwing an exception
Report any other logging/tracing parameters that you may find. It looks like you can turn on “ShouldLog” using the defaults.exe command for other tasks that iTunes runs.
This syncing issue has been going on for years, under different iTunes versions, there has to be something going on and an easier way to troubleshoot this problem. I wish I had the time, but right now I fixed the problem I had and was able to resync my Outlook with my two iPads and iPhone.
The only issue I have left at the moment is the message “the ipad xxx cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (-54). – despite this error message, I am syncing, but the message is distracting and annoying.

Yes - both have time zone support and are set to London/GMT
The most recent of these aberrations was not even crossing a DST change - just a simple recurring event (which I've manually changed to single events by copy/paste).
I just tried a new one which goes back 1 hr 27 Oct - when UK clocks go back. As it's a dummy apt I'll leave it and see if if goes back to the correct time on 27 Oct! In the meantime, I can't afford for my appts to get screwed up so will continue to do them manually!
    Thanks for your input.

  • Any way start over from scratch to fix iCloud calendar issues in Outlook 2010?

I'm suddenly having perplexing iCloud calendar issues in Outlook.  Forget the hundreds and hundreds of duplicate entries for birthdays and holidays, and the thousands of duplicate contacts - I've just been manually deleting them from Outlook.  I also tried manually deleted iCloud files from iCloud on outlook, but this does not seem to affect what is on iCloud itself.  I've now got an issue where if I add an appointment on my iPhone, it appears on Icloud but not in Outlook 2010 even though the iPhone calendar is displayed in Outlook. iPad appointments show up on iPhone, iCloud and Outlook.  iCloud entered appointments show up on iPhone, and iPad and Outlook.  Of course it is maddening that there is a separate calendar for each (there is only one of me, so why a separate calendar in Outlook  for every source is beyond me).  How can I get my iPhone to start showing up again in Outlook?  Another issue is that now every time I click on calendar in Outlook, it takes 2-3 minutes to display the calendar because iCloud seems to be syncing. I'm assuming this is because there a so many duplicates.  I've removed Icloud from Outlook. Ran a repair on Outlook.  Uninstalled iCloud. Reinstalled.  Re-added to outlook., but the issue is never fixed.  I'm considering make a brand new Apple ID and abandoning my current one, but that means I have to change my iPad, iCloud, iPhone, family iPhones, Outlook, readd credit card, reload all of the data.  That's a pain.  I sure would be nice to have a simple way of editing the iCloud data and adding devices (and having a more descriptive source name would be even better).

I found sync options under "info"
I was looking to sync the information from the phone back into outlook, It looks like these options will sync what is on outlook into the phone..
I wanted to export from the phone (which has all of the old appointments and updated contacts) , back into outlook
    Any other thoughts?
    Thanks

    Hi,
I have done a test as your steps. I am able to copy an event from my Outlook calendar to the SharePoint 2010 calendar.
    1. I suggest you test in another compute, perhaps your Outlook results to that issue.
    2. Please create a new site collection, then test again, compare the result.
    3. Maybe it will take some time before the copied event displays in the SharePoint 2010 calendar. So, wait a minute, compare the result.

  • Outlook Calendar Sync Issue "Microsoft Office Outlook Offline Folders"

I am experiencing an issue synchronizing my Outlook Calendar with my iPhone. I am using the latest version of Itunes (7.6.2.9).
    To reproduce:
    1) Sync Outlook calendar with Iphone.
In Outlook, the following error displays:
    "Microsoft Office Outlook Offline Folders"
"The file C:\Documents and Settings\<name>\Local Settings\Application Data\microsoft\outlook\outlook.ost is in use and could not be accessed. Close any application that is using the file, and then try again."
At this point, in order to view any mail or calendar entries, I am required to reboot my computer and relaunch Outlook. I had to disable synchronization with the iphone.
I followed the troubleshooting Calendars hints from the Support site, and I clicked "Reset Sync History." This seems to have temporarily fixed the problem, but I am not confident I won't receive the error again.
Is there a permanent fix for this?

This may be more than a temporary fix, so I would wait and cross that bridge if and when the same error message turns up.
