Outlook calendar synching issues with iPhone

My work Outlook calendar does not seem to be synching up with the calendar on my iPhone. Any ideas on how to resolve this?

In that case the sync is with Exchange, not with Outlook. Both Outlook and the iPhone sync with Exchange, which is the master copy.
Which is more current, Outlook or the iPhone?

  • Outlook calendar sync issue with iphone

A friend has a desktop running XP with Outlook 2003, iTunes 10, an iPhone 3G running iOS4.
In Outlook, he has his personal contacts and calendar, both with lots of entries.
iTunes is configured to sync his contacts and calendar to his iPhone.
The contacts sync successfully - the calendar does not, meaning the calendar on his iPhone is completely blank, no entries.
We tried resetting the sync history in iTunes, creating a test appointment on both the iPhone and Outlook - nothing.
We then set up a temporary local user on the XP box, configured Outlook, launched iTunes and went to configure calendar syncing when we noticed something different.
When logged in as the temp local user account, in iTunes > iPhone > Info > Sync calendars where you have the choice between All or Selected calendars, under Selected, there was a selectable line item called Calendar.
However, when we switched back to the regular domain user account, that line item was not there.
This leads me to believe that iTunes in that domain user profile for some reason does not detect Outlook calendar, yet it does as the local user.
I thought maybe it has something to do with the user role (he was member of some custom group, not sure what the exact permissions are) and changed him to an administrator role, logged out/back in, tried again, but no difference.
I am not sure how to further troubleshoot this. What can I try to make iTunes detect the calendar? It's really puzzling because it sees the contacts in Outlook and syncs them just fine.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This sounds just like the problem I am having since downloading the latest version of i-Tunes. Initially i-tunes wasn't recognised so after reinstalling i-Tunes and it's 5 other associated programmes I found that there was a cmpatability isuue (Right click i-tunes icon and go to compatability tag) Once this was sorted my Outlook calendar would not sync with my i-phone. 2 weeks later I am told it is because I have Outlook 2002 and need to upgrade. Frustrating as it worked ok before the latest upgrade.

  • Syncing Outlook Calendars and Contacts with iPhone - There is NO SOLUTION

I have searched the Apple support forums, Mac Forums, MS forums, spoken to Microsoft Support and iCloud support. Everybody says that there is no way to directly sync Outlook Calendars and Contacts with iPhone and other remote devices and nobody has a work around. I see 100s of forum threads started with this issue, most have no answer and the few that do are not offering solutions. I post this as a final effort to seek a solution! Who will be my savior? Or should I just admit defeat and allow myself to be cast aside in the battle between two giant corporate babies who don't like to play in the same sandbox?
Is my knight in shining armor out there?!

The information is correct, MS do not support the Dav standard in Outlook for Mac (but they do in Outlook for Windows), until they add support for it Calendars and Contacts will not work with Outlook for Mac.

  • Outlook Calendar stopped syncing with iPhone Calendar

I deleted a recurrent event on my iPhone and this action appears to have confused the sync capability between my iPhone and MS Outlook Calendar.
Outlook still tries to find the recurrent event on start-up even though it is not shown in Outlook Calendar.
More concerning is that new events and changes in Outlook Calendar are no longer syncing with iPhone Calendar. The time to complete the Calendar sync activity is noticeably longer than any of the other sync actions, which suggests that there is a problem.
I have been through the restore routine in iTunes and also attempted to replace all the Outlook Calendar data on the iPhone using the Advanced facility on the iTunes Info tab.
I appreciate that this may be an Outlook issue but are there any other things that I can try to restore the sync capability between the 2 Calendars.
All other sync functions appear to work ok - I have created and deleted Contact data from both Outlook and iPhone and this works fine.
    Grateful for any help!

I'm not sure if this will work for you. It seems every time I research a problem, everyone has a different solution that doesn't work for everyone. (I just spent an hour and a half searching for a solution in various forums.) But this one just worked for me.
I went into iTunes, into the Devices page for my iPhone, then to the Info tab. I unchecked Sync Calendars with Outlook. A pop-up appeared saying, I believe (I didn't write it down) "Do you want to delete previously synced calendars on the iPhone" - or words to that effect. Since I hadn't entered anything directly into the iPhone calendar in a while, I clicked Okay. Then I clicked on Apply (lower right corner of iTunes). The iPhone synced, and all appointments disappeared from the iPhone calendar. I then rechecked Sync Calendars with Outlook, clicked Apply, and the iPhone synced once again - and all my Outlook calendar appointments appeared on the iPhone.
This was, I admit, after having deinstalled all Apple software from my PC and reinstalling it. That didn't work on its own (still couldn't sync calendars), but I don't know for sure whether it had something to do with the success of the de-sync / re-sync.
Good luck. These solutions always seem to be hit-and-miss.

  • IOS Calendar Synch Issue with Google - iOS 8.1.3

I upgraded to iOS 8.1.3 a few days ago, and since then, am finding that my iPhone is not synching properly with changes to my Google calendar made on other devices. Opening iOS calendar presents me with the spinning wheel for several minutes. To rectify the problem, I have to reboot or shut down the device entirely. When it comes back on, everything works fine.
If this happened just once, I would have chocked it up to an anomaly. However, the behavior I described just happened for the second time in three days. First time was on LTE and this morning while my device was on my home FiOS WiFi.
Nothing else appears awry, and upon reboot via a "soft" shut-down or hard reboot, calendar functions return to normal.
    Appreciate some input ....
    Many thanks.

I Found if I do a soft reset it triggers my phone to start working though it lasts for 20-30 minutes and resorts back to issue again. I've also noticed AirPlay no longer functions properly which I realized after I updated my iPad to 8.1.3 which I regularly used for AirPlay so I tried it on my iPhone and it didn't work as well I tried it on my wife's iPhone and hers no longer works either. Wow! Disappointed to say the least. I know I can't be the only one frustrated with these 8+ updates as I've read it seems to be ongoing with thousands of others reporting online. It's not just the hard earned money spent on Apple products though when life becomes dependent upon using the products it seriously interfere with use

  • Calendar sync issues with iPhone 2.2 upgrade

I have an original iPhone which I sync with Outlook 2003 on my PC. After upgrading to the 2.2 firmware for the iPhone, the calendars no longer sync in either direction. Contacts still work perfectly, as do the iTunes libraries. Just as with the 2.0 upgrade, Outlook calendars (without exchange) are messed up, only this time there is no sync at all.
If similar issues are happening to you, please add to this thread and/or report to Apple.

After spending literally hours with AppleCare and on my own, we found that the only way to get the calendar to sync as to create a new Outlook profile, and have that calendar sync. It worked fine, but I was not able to have my legacy calendar. I just moved over my mail, contacts, and tasks (export to PST file from old Outlook profile).
To create a new Outlook profile:
    1. Open Control Panel
    2. Go to Mail (who knew this existed!!)
    3. Choose Show Profiles
    4. Click Add
    5. Set the box below to "Always Use this Profile" and select your new profile.
You will have a brand new Outlook. Then you can test by putting one item in the new calendar. Set the sync setting in iTunes only to do the calendar, and hopefully this fixes it. You will at least get your last 30 days data this way sync'd back to the PC.
The upgrades played havoc with some people's calendars, and while it is really annoying, I am running again.

  • Synching Issues with iphone 4/ itunes

When attempting to synch my iphone with itunes, the synch cannot progress past the "backing up" stage. Why?? Getting a bit frustrated now to be honest.
Every time I plug my phone into the computer, itunes informs me of the latest update required (4.3.5), but because of the synching issue, I obviously can't get the new update.
    any help appreciated

"iTunes could not back up the iPhone "Guru's iPhone" because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iPhone. Delete the backup for this iPhone, then try again."
The above is the error message I receive when trying to upgrade/ synch my iPhone with iTunes on my Laptop. I have the latest version of iTunes available (10.4.1)

  • Outlook calendar syncing issue with BB tour

My phone has been working great with my outlook up an till about 2 weeks ago. Desktop Manager syncs everything except my outlook calendar. I can't seem to figure out why it won't sync. I do have the newest version of the desktop mgr downloaded onto my computer.
    PLEASE help!

I have provided some information below, that may help with your syncing issue.
Try going back through the synchronization options on the desktop manager. I have provided the detailed instructions below:
    http://search.vzw.com/?do=viewdoc&id=16559
***Step 6 and 7 in the synchronization process will be the most important. Ensure you are selecting calendar (and anything else that is needed), as well as Outlook in Step 7. Step 8 will be up to you in whether you would like to do the following:
    Two way sync
Changes are synchronized to the device and desktop application.
    One way sync from Device
Changes are synchronized to the desktop application only.
    One way sync to Device
Changes are synchronized to the device only.
***You may have to reset your current synchronization and set it back up. If this is needed, use the same article above and on Step 5 in the article you will have the option to reset configuration.
    I hope this helps.

  • How can I get Outlook calendar to sync with iPhone and iPad?

I think I have tried evert known setting but syncing seems very selective.  I have googled for solutions, too.
Currently, I load an even into my Outlook calendar (and have the right boxes checked in iTunes) but I am damned if the even will transpose to either my iPhone or my iPad! My Outlook also displays the iCloud calendar too.
Is there a definitive instruction that is, effectively, a child's guide to setting up Outlook to transpose events to the Apple devices AND vice-versa?
In my iPhone and iPad, I have the iCloud sync box ticked.  In my phone calendars I have both PC and iCloud ticked.  Events show in my Outlook and Outlook iCloud but not in the &^&^*&^(*&(*)&(* iPhone or iPad.  I have had some close shaves over missing events and want to have this solved.
    Pleeeeease?
    Ron

An interesting additional symtom is that items loaded in the PC (which immedialely duplicate to the iCloud calendar on eht PC - no worries, there) do not transpose the devices (as above) but, loading an item into the phone, it goes to the PC (which is fine, too).  But not to the iPad.  Interestingly, there fewer calendar display options on the iPad than on the phone.
I talked to Apple a few months ago (after ISO 5) - mainly about the 6000 plus addresses that suddenly appeared in my Contacts - and his advice was do all contact and calendar actions on the PC.  "icloud is still faulty"
So there we are!   I must have items and reminders in my PC - it is my main work station - and need them on my devices to avoid conflicts when away from my office.

  • Events disappearing from Outlook Calendar when synced with iPhone 4

    Hi,
I have just switched from iPhone 4 to iPhone 4S. I have the same iTunes and Apple ID on both the iPhones (the other one is used by my wife) but I created different iCloud ID for both the iPhones. When I synced the new iPhone 4S with my laptop, I found that my calender events on my laptop dissappeared.
This never happened with iPhone 4. Can you please help to find out the reason?
    Thanks

When you created a new Apple ID and logged the phones in you disconnected them from the account where your calendars etc are, use your original ID.

  • IPhone Outlook calendar synch issue

My new iPhone does synch with my Outlook 2007 calendar, but only some, not all, of the calendar items actually are copied over to the phone. When I create an event on the phone, it does synch back to the computer.
    Any idea what's happening here?

Similar, if not same, issue here, as no calendar items come across from the computer. While I run both OSX and PC, the phone uses wife's Dell running XP pro, and it's still no joy. Running latest OS and outlook patches, etc.
I would expect coders are still working on a fix...bought the phone expressly for this purpose--while the other features are great, until this is fixed, it's a rather large thorn.
If the definitive steps to a fix are arrived at, I am all ears...

  • How do I resolve synching issues with iphone 4S

All of a sudden the notes on my iphone are not synching with my BT Yahoo account? They are showing on the Yahoo app but not being updated on the notes app on the phone itself?

    From an older post:
you sync through iTunes. Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes. When you connect your iPhone, find it in the left nav bar in iTunes, click on it, then click on Info. The top two choices should say Sync Contacts with and Sync Calendars with.
"If you do not see "Outlook" as one of the choices for sync'ing your Contacts and Calendar, you need to find and install an iTunes Outlook Add-in. Then you need to go to Outlook > File > Add-Ins. Under Inactive Application Add-ins, look for iTunes Outlook Addin. You will need to restart your computer. You will know you were successful if iTunes reconfigures so it recognizes the Outlook Addin. Then you should be able to sync."

  • Issue with Calendar not syncing with iPhone 3g

Issue with Calendar not syncing with iPhone 3g.
    Solution
Create backup of your entire mailbox before starting (THIS IS IMPORTANT)
Create offline folder (.pst file) Check windows help on how to do this for your version.
    Open folders view on Outlook
Right click on Calendar in tree view and 'copy to' offline .pst folder
Go back to main calendar view and delete all entries in your calendar.
Create simple cal entry and sync test with iphone
If this works then start dragging cal entries back from the offline folder into the main calendar then sync after each step....
I moved events in this order
    -Yearly recurrences (ie Birthdays)
    - Monthly recurrences
    - weekly recurrences
    - Daily recurrences
All appointments from the beginning of this year >> to the end of time!
If all these sync then the issue is with an older cal item and you have to decide if you actually need these in you current calendar.
I chose to leave these in the offline cal and if i need access them from there.
If at any point the sync fails then you know you have a corrupt cal entry in the block you just transferred. Move the offending items back into the offline folder and try again in smaller chunks until you identify the offending items and delete them and manually recreate them in your real calendar.
Also smart to run the inbox (.pst /.ost ) repair tools for your OS/Outlook version.
    Fixed so far
    XP Pro / Outlook 2008
    XP Pro /Outlook 2003

I just updated the firmware to iPhone 2.0.1 and the syncing works great both ways.

    Thank you.

So you have business contacts that were lost... do you not have these on a Database in some shape or form? Sounds like you need to invest in a RAID1 backup setup for your computer so you dont have this issue in the future.
As for repairing your problem, sounds like you are going to need to start from scratch at this point or if the data is still on your phone look into a program that can take the information from the phone onto iTunes.

  • New events on Outlook 2010 not syncing with Iphone and Ipad

I have gone through the nonsensical uninstall/reinstall every 5 restars. This time my new events or contacts on Outlook do not show on iPhone or Ipad. There is also a new confirguration where the Outlook does not separate the iCloud calendar from Outlook calendar but lists them all, then iCloud as a separate box at the bottom. I've tried dragging to that box with no success. I make about 50 appointments and reminders to my calendar each week and use all devices whether in the office or out. How dare Apple not fix this known issue.

I just looked at topic called "Outlook 2010 - Outlook does not sync with iPhone / iTunes and used the fix suggested in that string of posts. It appears to have worked!!! My happy camper.
